Xbox Series X may allow suspend and resume for multiple games at once
Microsoft's new next-gen Xbox Series X console (formerly Project Scarlett) may let you switch between multiple games at once without losing your session.
Suspend and resume is one of the best features on current-gen systems, and lets you swap between a game and an app on-the-fly. But what if it was taken to the next level? What if you could swap between multiple games without losing your playtime? You'd essentially be creating virtual save states for your games. That could be possible with the Xbox Series X and it's all thanks to its new higher-end NVMe SSD tech.
In a recent interview with Gamespot, Xbox exec Jason Ronald discussed how this lofty goal might happen with the Xbox Series X.

Next-gen Xbox controller has a share button
Microsoft just revealed its new next-gen console, the Xbox Series X, and it comes with an upgraded controller with some nifty features.
Project Scarlett is now officially called Xbox Series X, aka the console that "eats monsters for breakfast" and hits 4K 60FPS and (maybe even 120FPS) in its games. Microsoft's made some pretty big promises with the Series X and its enthusiast-grade power, but there's some smaller quality-of-life improvements too, like the new controller.
The next-gen Xbox Series X will be accompanied by a new Xbox controller that sports a share button for easy screenshots. This is absolutely huge for Microsoft and gives a direct way to share footage and images right on social media. And it's backward compatible with the Xbox One and supports Windows 10 PCs to boot.

Ruined King: A League of Legends Story trailer announced by Riot Forge
This year's Game Awards has already been a blast, with massive reveals from numerous developers and big players like Microsoft and Sony. What is another big reveal? How about a new game that is based in the League of Legends universe?
Riot Forge has released the official teaser trailer for their upcoming title Ruined King: A League of Legends Story. From the trailer, we don't learn that much about the title, but we do get an epic voiceover that sounds like Thresh from League of Legends. Perhaps this guess is reinforced when we see his lantern at the start of the trailer?
What we can confirm is that the game will be story-driven, turn-based role-playing (RPG) that is developed by Airship Syndicate and published by Riot Forge. The end of the trailer also reveals that the title is currently in development for both consoles and PC. No release date was revealed, but as soon as there is one, I will be sure to follow up with another article.

Senua's Saga: Hellblade II will arrive on the Xbox Series X - trailer
The Game Awards are dropping all kinds of big game announcements, and one of those announcements was from developer Ninja Theory.
Firstly, if you haven't played Hellblade Senua's Sacrifice from Ninja Theory, it's a game that I highly recommend. The sound in that game makes you feel on edge, and as you take Senua deeper into the depths of hell and watch her go insane, you also go insane with her. The game is best played with headphones on because of the audio work that has been put into it, and if Senua's Saga: Hellblade II is anything like the first one, then it will be the same.
Moving on, throughout the Game Awards and right after Microsoft announced the official naming of their next-gen console they showed off Ninja Theory's latest project, Senua's Saga: Hellblade II. Above you can find the trailer, and while there isn't much context to what's going on we can see that the game looks absolutely fantastic as all footage was captured in engine. At the end of the trailer, we find out that it will be arriving on the Xbox Series X, it's not clear if it will be an exclusive, but if I was to guess, I'd say that it will be coming to PC/Xbox and not PS4. There's no release date announced either.

Microsoft reveals next-gen Xbox console, Xbox Series X
Microsoft announced its next-gen Xbox console at The Game Awards 2019, and it's called Xbox Series X.
Microsoft just pulled a fast one over Sony by revealing its next-gen Xbox console the Xbox One Series X at The Game Awards, showing a new vertical tower-like design for thermal ventilation.
There was no talk about Lockhart, the cheaper lower-end console, and it's possible Microsoft has scrapped the hardware altogether. No specs were outlined, but Xbox Series X will use a new Zen 2 CPU and Navi GPU combo on a custom AMD SoC, and may have 12TFLOPs of power and 16GB of GDDR6 memory.

Detroit: Become Human PC specs increased just before its release
Detroit: Become Human has had its PC requirements heavily upgraded in the hours before its release on the Epic Games Store, up from the pretty damn low requirements to much higher PC specs required to play.
Quantic Dream revealed the original PC specs which were considerably lower than the new specs, requiring only an Intel Core i5-2400 (or equivalent) processor, 4GB of RAM, and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 with 2GB of VRAM. The recommended specs were calling for an Intel Core i7-2700K (or equivalent), 12GB of RAM, and a GeForce GTX 1080 (or equivalent).
But the new minimum PC specs call for an Intel Core i7-3770, 8GB of RAM, and a GeForce GTX 780 or Radeon HD 7950 -- much higher than the previous minimum specs. The recommended PC specs however, have come down -- strangely, with a Core i5-8400, 16GB of RAM (this is higher) and GTX 1060 or RX 580 (versus a GTX 1080).

First PS5 game could be revealed tonight during The Game Awards 2019
The first next-gen PlayStation 5 game could be unveiled during tonight's The Game Awards 2019.
According to Niko Partners analyst Daniel Ahmad, we could see next-gen news at TGA 2019 along with a PlayStation 5 game reveal. There's a catch, though: It won't be a first-party Sony game like, say, the rumored Demon's Souls remake or Gran Turismo 7, but instead a third-party title from another publisher or developer.
I don't think we'll see much about the PlayStation 5 at the show--maybe a few snippets about the console's power or raytracing capabilities--from the developer. So what could the game be? There's tons of possibilities. Ubisoft has a bunch of games in the works for next-gen consoles (they expect to release 9 AAA games by 2022) and just about every other major dev is making titles for the PS5 and Project Scarlett too.

Elon Musk on life being a video game: graphics are great, DLC is $$$$
Elon Musk is always pondering something, and most of the time those ponderings come out into the real-world in the form of his personal tweets. One of those was a new question, asking if life were a video game. Musk was only just spotted around the streets of LA in a prototype Cybertruck.
Musk tweeted: "If life is a video game, the graphics are great, but the plot is confusing & the tutorial is way too long". But the top tweet is my favorite as it is close to my heart: @boomborks asked Musk to tweet #ReleaseTheSnyderCut in support of releasing the true vision of Justice League, not the Joss Whedon-directed, WB-destroyed theatrical version.
From there, Musk replied saying that "Your DLC is $$$$" and then this gem: "Games only render what you look at when you look at it, as the compute load would otherwise be impossibly high. Until observed, objects are a probability function, aka quantum mechanics". Don't worry, as the subject of NPCs was also talked about, with @Braddock512 saying "Also, a lot of the NPCs suck", to which Musk replied: "Seriously, the NPC dialog tree should have more options".

Mortal Kombat 11 cross-play might not come to PC
It's taken seven months, but Netherealm is making good on their promise to bring cross-play to Mortal Kombat 11.
Netherealm and WB Games today confirmed Krossplay is coming to Mortal Kombat 11, letting PS4 and Xbox One gamers play against one another in online Kasual modes. The feature is currently in live beta testing and no final release has been confirmed just yet.
There's no word if cross-play will come to PC or other platforms when it's ready for launch, but it's not looking very likely. "No, the Krossplay feature in Mortal Kombat 11 will not support PC, Nintendo Switch or Stadia at this time," reads the official FAQ.

Resident Evil 2 Remake likely to get Resident Evil 3 tie-in DLC
The Resident Evil 2 Remake just got a new update that strongly hints at an in-game tie-in for RE3 Remake.
RE2 Remake's latest update adds an interesting new trophy that's unlock by finding Jill's note in-game. The trophy itself is in its own little sub-section, just like the Ghost Survivors extra downloadable content. It's likely this trophy is for an upcoming free DLC Capcom will roll out to set the stage for the new Resident Evil 3 Remake, and we could see it announced The Game Awards 2019 in just a few hours.
Considering RE3 mostly picks up where RE2 left off (except for everything before the clocktower part, that's actually a prequel) this makes a lot of sense. Capcom can use RE2 Remake to promote and advertise Resident Evil 3 with in-game content as well as pre-order prompts (the latter is actually already live). Tonight we should see the free DLC announced and made available, and maybe even a teaser about a RE3 demo.

Amazon's New World MMORPG pops on Steam, set for 2020 release
A listing for Amazon's new MMORPG New Worlds has popped on Steam, confirming a 2020 launch and a $39.99 price tag.
Despite a big speed bump in June, Amazon's game development endeavors are still on track. New World, Amazon Game Studios' premiere flagship MMO game that's set in a 1600's fantasy world, is going strong and is apparently ready for release.
The Steam listing has tons of screenshots and info about New World, strongly hinting we'll see a big announcement tonight at The Game Awards 2019. New World costs $39.99 for the base version, and has all the traditional hooks any live MMO contains: microtransactions, crafting, PVP, co-op team play, questing, exploration, etc.

Fallout 4's new workshop mode is great for settlement enthusiasts
Fallout 4 is getting a new workshop mode that lets you build your ultimate settlement anywhere at any time with unlimited resources. There's just one catch: They're not actually real.
Fallout 4's new virtual workshop mode is basically a holodeck simulation where you build crazy settlements in unique areas that aren't actually settle-able in the base game. The mode is part of the Creation Club, and lets you build a settlement in specific world zones like the GNR Building, in a radioative atomic crater, and even on a deserted island.
While PC modding absolutely annihilates vanilla Fallout 4 settlement management, this feature is great for anyone who wants to dabble in vanilla building before moving on to the main event. It's a great entry point and serves as a good alternative to PS4 players who don't get expansive mod support. The only downside is the settlements aren't real and you can't interact with them outside of the VR pod simulation--they're not technically part of your narrative experience.

New Fallout 76 update glitch drops armor by up to 20%
A new Fallout 76 update introduces a glitch that lowers armor rating after reloading.
Bethesda accidentally bugged legendary armor sets in Fallout 76 with Update 16, lowering their overall effectiveness. After reloading while wearing a full legendary armor set, some players report their overall damage resistance gets lowered despite the armor being at full durability. One video shows a sizable 20% DR drop from 519 DR to 414 DR while wearing the Vanguard Thorn armor set.
This forces users to un-equip and re-equip the armor every time to reset and get the full damage resistance. The stats aren't affected and the armor set bonuses are still intact. The glitch also doesn't happen every time to every armor set, and it's likely Bethesda is already working on a fix.

The Witcher TV show final trailer released - prepare for a bloodbath
Netflix has just released the final trailer for their upcoming Witcher TV show, and if you weren't excited for the show to release I bet you will be now.
The trailer was released onto the official Witcher Twitter account and it shows Geralt (Henry Cavill) facing off against some enemies. We also get a great top down shot of a massive battle occurring between two armies charging into each other. We also see some brutal combat scenes, and some teasers of Cirilla and how her story will tie into Geralts.
After watching this trailer you are no doubt hyped for the release of The Witcher. What you should know is that after the first season is finished a second season has already been greenlit by Netflix, more on that here. The Game Awards is turning into a global E3 with 'The Game Festival'
The annual Game Awards event are about to get underway, and right before everything is about to kick off show-runner Geoff Keighley has announced The Game Festival.
The Game Festival is a new "digital consumer event concept" that will be apart of The Game Awards this year. According to the blog post, The Game Festival is a first-of-its-kind digital consumer event that will give gamers a hands-on experience with soon-to-be-released games through demos. For this year's award show, The Game Festival will launch a digital pilot program on Steam that will allow gamers to play a dozen demos of upcoming games.
The window if playable opportunity only lasts for 48 hours, but for those 48 hours, players will be able to download demos from some of the most highly anticipated games. Keighley says that The Game Festival is designed from the ground up to be an event without barriers as he says that he understands that not everyone can physically attend the award show. Keighley calls The Game Festival "a completely digital approach to the consumer event space". The full list of the game demos has been provided in the entirety of this post.

NASA's TESS satellite accidentally caught a comet 'burp' on video
Sometimes when you are observing space you run into things that you just don't expect, NASA recently experienced this when they pointed one of their satellites a comet.
NASA pointed their Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite, or better known as TESS at comet 46P/Wirtanen in an effort to merely test their systems. To their surprise the comet ejected an estimated 2.2 million pounds of materials (ice, dust and gas) in what looks very similar to that of a 'burp'. Scientists said that the 'burp' lasted for about one hour and occurred on September 26th, 2018.
This isn't the very first time astronomers have spotted a comet ejecting materials, but it is the first time that a satellite has observed the entire thing like TESS has done. According to the paper's lead author, astronomer Tony Farnham of the University of Maryland, "We can't predict when comet outbursts will happen. But even if we somehow had the opportunity to schedule these observations, we couldn't have done any better in terms of timing. The outburst happened mere days after the observations started."

This AI-powered 10,000 piece LEGO sorting machine is a world's first
I don't know about you, but when I was kid I had boxes and boxes of LEGO that my parents bought me to keep me out of their hair. This LEGO wasn't sorted in the slightest, in fact it probably couldn't of been more jumbled if you tried.
That's when I needed Daniel West's creation, or what he called the "Universal LEGO Sorting Machine". Let's call it the ULSM for sort. The ULSM is comprised of over 10,000 individual pieces of LEGO (yes, that does means LEGO is sorting LEGO) and uses AI to sort LEGO into one of 18 different buckets at a rate of about "about one brick every two seconds".
So how does it work? West explains in his video (above) that he trained the AI to sort bricks by feeding it realistic 3D images of LEGO parts, and then programmed it to learn which bucket to drop the observed brick into. This AI technique is called a convolutional neural network, and since this technique was used the machine is able to detect any LEGO piece ever created and even ones that it hasn't seen before.

This Goose game is one of the reasons why you should love the internet
Back in the early 2000's people were just starting to become connected, it wasn't like it was today in terms of push notifications, easily accessible trailers, and the massive library of video games at your fingertips.
So this is where gratitude comes into play, we really have to appreciate that if it were twenty years ago, we would have never seen games made like Untitled Goose Game, or at least we would have never heard about them. Untitled Goose Game is made by House House and is one of the reasons why you should love the internet because if it wasn't for the internet, then you would have never heard about this puzzle-stealth title.
Of course, this is a joke. You can love or hate the internet for whatever reason you deem reasonable. But if you want to look at something that might make your smile appear because of its creativity, then check out the above trailer. In short, Untitled Goose Game lets players torment NPC's as a Goose. Players can pick up objects that NPC's require and run away with them, stalk NPC's, quack at them, check off torture missions, and so on. Untitled Goose Game is releasing on PS4 on December 17th.
