Rick and Morty Season 4 Episode 4 HD wallpaper screenshots

Jak Connor | TV, Movies & Home Theatre | Dec 10, 2019 12:33 AM CST

The fourth episode of season four of Rick and Morty just aired and to celebrate the return of the crazy show we have some screenshots to look at.

Rick and Morty Season 4 Episode 4 HD wallpaper screenshots

Now, before I jump into the events of the fourth episode, please beware that these images are spoilers for anyone who hasn't seen the full episode yet. View at your own risk. Before the episode dropped, Adult Swim were teasing fans with the release of the beginning of the episode (found here), and also a hint that episode four would feature Morty somehow getting a dragon.

In the screenshots provided in the entirety of this article we can see some of the most important/funniest parts of the episode. First off, Rick actually gets Morty a dragon to keep. Next, Rick denounces that dragons are cool in anyway and then proceeds to get absolutely smashed drunk with it. Rick then soul bonds to Morty's dragon, right in front of Morty. Jerry's randomly talking cat makes it to Florida, gets aboard a yacht and then gets a rude awakening.

Amazon says Trump vendetta cost them $10 billion JEDI contract

Anthony Garreffa | Science, Space, & Robotics | Dec 10, 2019 12:05 AM CST

Amazon is going after President Trump over losing the $10 billion government contract to the Pentagon over JEDI, the huge Joint Enterprise Defense Infrastructure contract.

Amazon says Trump vendetta cost them $10 billion JEDI contract

Microsoft secured the $10 billion contract over Amazon Web Services (AWS) and now the retail, cloud, and everything giant is mad -- so mad, it is suing the US government. Amazon believes Donald Trump was personally involved in Amazon losing the contract, with the company arguing the Defense Department "departed from the rules of procurement and complied - consciously or subconsciously - with its Commander in Chief's expressed desire to reject AWS's superior bid".

Amazon's complaint argues that the Defense Department made "obvious errors" in giving Microsoft the contract over AWS, adding that President Trump is "obsessed" with Bezos. Amazon also adds that President Trump, earlier this year, said he had heard "tremendous complaints about the contract with the Pentagon and with Amazon" and would have the Defense Department look "very closely" at the $10 billion JEDI contract.

Chinese video game lets you 'hunt down traitors' in Hong Kong

Anthony Garreffa | Gaming | Dec 9, 2019 10:45 PM CST

If the controversy over in Hong Kong couldn't get any worse, a popular new web game is getting some international attention -- 'Fight the Traitors Together'.

Chinese video game lets you 'hunt down traitors' in Hong Kong

Fight the Traitors Together sounds about as bad as you think it does, as the game wants players that will find what really are Hong Kong protesters in the game, and then hurt them by slapping them, or throwing rotten eggs at them. The game was built to let people vent their anger over the riots in Hong Kong.

The game sees 8 different "traitors" hidden in the city, caricatured based on real people. These people include "Jimmy Lai Chee-ying, Martin Lee Chu-ming and Joshua Wong Chi-fung, prominent opposition figures who have played a major role in inciting unrest in Hong Kong. There are also traitor figures in ancient China" reports Global Times.

Intel Core i9-10900K: 10C/20T CPU + Z490 platform drops in April 2020

Anthony Garreffa | Motherboards | Dec 9, 2019 9:25 PM CST

Intel will be launching its new Comet Lake-S processors in April 2020 according to the latest rumors, a new CPU family that will launch alongside the Z490 chipset and a slew of new motherboards.

The new Z490 chipset will reportedly be joined by the W480, B460, and H410 which will be destined for the workstation, business, and entry-level markets, respectively. The new flagship Z490 chipset would go hand-in-hand with the new Comet Lake-S processors which will arrive with up to 10C/20T, yet it'll still only offer PCIe 3.0 versus PCIe 4.0 offered on AMD's new X570 chipset.

Intel will be introducing a new socket with Comet Lake-S, with the new LGA 1200 socket offering 49 additional pins over the LGA 1151 socket. The new LGA 1200 socket will NOT be backwards compatible with previous-gen CPUs. But, previous-gen coolers should work, something we'll know more about next year.

OPPO announce new AR glasses, will compete with HoloLens 2 in 2020

Anthony Garreffa | Mobile Devices | Dec 9, 2019 8:48 PM CST

OPPO just announced a new pair of augmented reality glasses at its OPPO Innovation Day event, with David Imel on the ground at the event in China from Android Authority tweeting the news just now.

OPPO announce new AR glasses, will compete with HoloLens 2 in 2020

There's not much known outside of the surprise announcement, but Imel did report that both the new OPPO AR glasses and a new 5G CPE hub that is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon X55 5G modem will be released in Q1 2020.

OPPO's new AR glasses will feature dual fisheye camers on the front, as well as an HD camera. On the side appears to be two buttons styled in green, which I actually really dig the style of. We don't know any specifications on what is inside the OPPO AR glasses powering it, or what type of resolution or display technology they're using. As I find this out I'll keep you all updated.

Death Stranding Low-Fi: Hideo Kojima's masterpiece goes retro 8-bit

Anthony Garreffa | Gaming | Dec 9, 2019 8:28 PM CST

Death Stranding was one of the most-hyped, and well-received games of 2019 and now Hideo Kojima's masterpiece has been "demaked" into an 8-bit game.

Death Stranding Low-Fi: Hideo Kojima's masterpiece goes retro 8-bit

The new Low-Fi version of the game was created by Fabricio Lima, who made Death Stranding into an 8-bit game that makes me feel all nostalgic. Better yet, it's not all just about those 8-bit graphics but the sound theme has been recreated in chiptune/8-bit, to bring it closer to the MSX (which is the first console that Hideo Kojima worked on, FYI).

Not all characters have gone through the "demake" process, as Lima ran out of time to work on other characters. For now, just the sheer fact that someone "demaked" Death Stranding into the nostalgic 8-bit world is awesome.

NVIDIA next gen Hopper GPU: arrives after Ampere to smash Intel, AMD

Anthony Garreffa | Graphics Cards | Dec 9, 2019 7:46 PM CST

The next GPU architecture we get from NVIDIA will be Ampere, but we're already hearing about the GPU architecture after that in the form of Hopper.

NVIDIA next gen Hopper GPU: arrives after Ampere to smash Intel, AMD

Hopper will reportedly be an MCM design or multi-chip module -- think of the multi-chip GPU design as the chiplet technology that has allowed AMD to leapfrog Intel in the CPU market... But for next-gen GPUs.

A recent patent unearthed by 'kopite7kimi with NVIDIA choosing Hopper to represent the late Grace Hopper, who was a computer scientist who popularized the idea of machine-independent programming languages. Her work led the world into the creation of COBOL, the high-level programming language.

Project Scarlett to use proprietary SSD tech to supercharge speeds

Derek Strickland | Gaming | Dec 9, 2019 5:14 PM CST

Microsoft will apparently use a customized SSD storage solution to hit blazing-fast game loading speeds, arming developers with versatile power in the process.

Project Scarlett to use proprietary SSD tech to supercharge speeds

Next-gen consoles will use new SSDs alongside new GPU and CPU hardware to dramatically improve loading speeds (the PS5's SSD loaded Spider-Man in just 0.8 seconds). But that's not all the SSDs can do. Microsoft says the SSDs used in its new Project Scarlett duo of consoles lets developers use storage as a VRAM buffer, strongly hinting at a custom solution. Now sources say the next-gen Xboxes will indeed feature a unique storage design.

Project Scarlett's Anaconda and Lockhart systems will both use a proprietary NVMe SSD, sources tell WindowsCentral. This somewhat aligns with our recent predictions that next-gen consoles could use Optane-like memory cache acceleration tech, which prioritizes important data in a special storage cache and feeds it right into the CPU.

Original BioShock creator Ken Levine isn't involved with BioShock 4

Derek Strickland | Gaming | Dec 9, 2019 4:25 PM CST

A new BioShock game is in development (it's actually been in development since 2015), but the series' original creator Ken Levine won't be involved.

Original BioShock creator Ken Levine isn't involved with BioShock 4

Rather than resurrect Irrational Games or recruit Ken Levine's new Ghost Story Games studio to work on the next BioShock game, 2K Games made a new first-party studio called Cloud Chamber. Levine and former BioShock devs won't be helping with the new project--it's being spear-headed by an entirely separate team. The IP is moving on without its creator, despite Levine still orbiting in the 2K Games universe.

According to Cloud Chamber director Kelley Gilmore, Levine and Ghost Story Games team are working on an unannounced project (job listings hint it's a story-driven FPS RPG mash-up).

Next-gen Xbox Scarlett specs: 12TFLOPs, 16GB RAM, 3.5GHz Zen 2 CPU

Derek Strickland | Gaming | Dec 9, 2019 2:11 PM CST

New specs for Project Scarlett's next-gen console duo surface, reinforcing recent leaks and rumors.

Next-gen Xbox Scarlett specs: 12TFLOPs, 16GB RAM, 3.5GHz Zen 2 CPU

Project Scarlett isn't just one console. It's a duo that includes two systems: Anaconda, the true next-gen beast of a console with beefier hardware, and Lockhart, a digital-only cheaper system with dialed-down specs. Now sources revealed new Anaconda and Lockhart specs to WindowsCentral, and they're pretty much what we expected.

Anaconda's Navi GPU will have 12TFLOPs of power, roughly twice as much as the Xbox One X, aimed at native 4K 60FPS playback in all games. This hefty boost will also bring huge gains in 1440p and 1080p with up to 120FPS. The console will have a huge 16GB GDDR6 unified memory pool, of which 13GB of RAM will be available for games and 3GB is reserved for OS memory, a nice 44% jump in allocated game memory compared to the Xbox One X.

Halo devs almost made BioShock 4

Derek Strickland | Gaming | Dec 9, 2019 1:21 PM CST

2K Games today announced a new BioShock game is in development. But this project has been in the works for at least four years now, and started off in 2015 at a third-party studio.

Halo devs almost made BioShock 4

BioShock games are notoriously hard to make and often come with delays, development hell, crunch, and reboots. The same is true for the next BioShock game.

Sources tell Kotaku that BioShock 4's early pre-production started in 2015 at Certain Affinity, an indie studio made of Bungie vets that specializes in first-person shooters. Certain Affinity designed multiplayer for Halo Reach DLC, helped make Halo: Combated Evolve Anniversary, assisted with Halo 4, as well as helping with a handful of Call of Duty games.

BioShock 4 in development for next-gen consoles

Derek Strickland | Gaming | Dec 9, 2019 11:30 AM CST

A new BioShock game is officially in development for release on next-gen consoles at a brand new wholly-owned studio, 2K Games today confirmed.

BioShock 4 in development for next-gen consoles

We've known for a while now that a new BioShock game was on the way, but 2K has been notoriously tight-lipped on the franchise. Now 2K Games finally confirmed the project's existence with a maddeningly vague announcement.

2K Games formed a new studio called Cloud Chamber specifically to work on the next BioShock game. The studio consists of two branches--one in Montreal, Quebec and the other in Novato, California--that will collaborate on the project. The press release makes it sound like BioShock 4 has been rebooted, as is customary for the franchise: "2K announced that Cloud Chamber has started to work on the next iteration of the globally acclaimed BioShock franchise."

AMD Zen 4 could arrive in 2021 as TSMC 5nm shows promising yields

Shannon Robb | Processors | Dec 9, 2019 10:36 AM CST

AMD's Ryzen processors have been a massive success with the first-gen starting rocky, but AMD kept with its release cadence and has pushed it to be stronger every generation.

AMD Zen 4 could arrive in 2021 as TSMC 5nm shows promising yields

Well, they did not stop the train yet, and there are no signs of stopping if what we see today from China Times, along with AMD's claims on investor day (back in May 2019), are accurate. AMD has been pushing not just the newest Ryzen 3000 as was released a short while ago, but already have the next few steps completed or in development.

This is where today's story stems from, where China Times reports that TSMC's 5nm process is already showing good yield potential. AMD is presently on 7nm with its Zen 2 architecture, and we already hear news of 5nm tech, which will power Zen 4. Zen 3, which is 7nm+, has already been touted as offering a performance uplift similar to what you would expect with a new architecture.

14nm shortage is so bad, Intel is reviving a 22nm CPU from 2013

Shannon Robb | Processors | Dec 9, 2019 10:15 AM CST

It is no secret that Intel has struggled with 10nm, and this has led to massive struggles now with 14nm delivery and fulfillment.

14nm shortage is so bad, Intel is reviving a 22nm CPU from 2013

Intel has apologized over the past two-plus years for their shortages of shipments on 14nm supply, which has been heavily refreshed at this point. But apologies only do so much as Intel has still struggled with meeting needs of OEM vendors, let alone retail/etail users who desire a new 14nm-based CPU. Intel initially had 10nm slated for a few years ago, but as we have observed and even written about, it has been one hurdle after another.

Recently Dell announced its lack of reaching revenue goals and places blame square on the shoulders of Intel not being able to fulfill their CPU needs to outfit their fully built systems. This has far-reaching implications as it makes us question what kind of trouble Intel truly is in, and how will they pull out of this apparent tailspin.

The launch trailer for Alien: Isolation coming to the Nintendo Switch has finally dropped, let's take a look at that graphical goodness.

Here's the trailer for the game that looks better on Switch than PS4

Earlier this week, I reported on Alien: Isolation heading over to the Nintendo Switch via a port done by Feral Interactive. The port was put under the microscope by Digital Foundry, and they discovered that the game actually looks better on the Nintendo Switch version when compared to the PS4 version. Crazy, I know. Catch up on that story here.

Well now, the official launch trailer for the title has dropped, and can we another look at those awesome graphical improvements that are extremely foreign to Nintendo Switch ports. If you are after more information about Alien: Isolation, check out the Nintendo eShop listing here. On a more personal note, if you are a Nintendo Switch user and want to jump into a different type of game -- perhaps one that is a bit intense? I'd certainly recommend this one.
