Dying Light 2 director says gamers need better worlds, not bigger ones
Techland is the developers behind the parkour-based zombie title Dying Light, and if you are out of the loop with what they have been up to, they are currently working on a sequel expected to launch next year.
Dying Light 2 is easily one of the most anticipated games of next year, this is mostly due to the reveals showing off an extremely complex open-world. Players will reportedly need to replay Dying Light 2 several times to fully experience what the game has to offer, as choices throughout the world have 'ripple' effects throughout the rest of the play-through. This choice system is not unique to Dying Light 2, but the complexity of the choices are.
Techland's director Tymon Smektala spoke to the Xbox: The Official Magazine and answered some questions regarding today's game worlds and whether or not he thinks they will get bigger or not. Here's what he had to say, "I'm not sure they will get bigger. I think what will change is the fidelity of everything. I don't think people really need bigger worlds, they need worlds that are of better quality and that they feel more immersed in what surrounds them." The world's Smektala is describing seems to be very similar to that of Dying Light 2, as every choice that is made throughout that game affects the entire world around the player, creating a certain level of immersion and depth.

Rick and Morty Season 4 will return in 2020 - should be end of January
The fifth episode of Rick and Morty Season 4 just aired yesterday, marking the end of the first half of season 4. So when will the radical adventures return?
I won't be getting into any of the events of the fifth episode (I will save that for another article), so you can cease worrying about whether or not this one contains spoilers. According to a Twitter post on the official Rick and Morty Twitter account, season 4 of Rick and Morty will be returning to our screens sometime in 2020. Here's the official quote, "Rick and Morty Season 4 will return in 2020".
Adult Swim doesn't specify when the fourth season of Rick and Morty will return, but if I were to guess when it would be aired, I would say closer to the end of January. I would also assume that after the festive season is over and we have moved into the new year, that we will get an official promo from Adult Swim giving us a solid date. I'd guess that promo will be released within the first two weeks of January, hyping us for the end of the month when the episodes return.

Instagram's AI thinks the word 'stupid' is too offensive for a caption
Social media platforms are in a perpetual war against 'harmful' content, and are always looking for new ways to keep the users on their platform safe.
Instagram is now the latest social media platform to launch an attack on potentially harmful content, and it's all in the name of keeping their user base safe. Instagram's AI will now officially comb through each caption to every image uploaded to its servers and determine whether or not the caption that the Instagram user chose is potentially harmful.
How does this work? Instagram's AI will take a user's caption and then compare it to the log of previously flagged 'harmful' comments, and if the caption is similar to these comments, the AI will send the Instagram user a push notification regarding their caption. Basically, Instagram's AI is fed data (flagged comments) and then uses that data as a benchmark for what is "offensive" or potentially "harmful". Then if anything comes close to that benchmark, warnings are sent out to the users who have crossed the line.

Sony seeks a new Head of Strategy for Worldwide Studios
Sony is in the middle of getting everything lined up for the game changing launch of the new PlayStation 5 console, and a wave of next-gen games -- and while Sony has been going through some big corporate changes, another big change is happening. The last we saw on the PlayStation 5 was its new render, which looks great -- a big change to the previous renders, too.
The company has posted a new job listing looking for a new Head of Strategy for Sony Worldwide Studios, with the new staffer in control of growing the brand between 2020-2024. This new person would plan mergers, acquisitions, and see market trends as they're coming -- they'd also be working with the various leadership through Sony Worldwide Studios, reporting directly to the Head of Worldwide Studios.
This move says that Sony is about to expand in a big way, which makes sense given that the PlayStation 5 is going to launch 12 months from now. Sony will be putting its all into 2020-2024, so this new position is an exciting tease of things to come in 2020 and beyond.

Huawei P40 rumor: 120Hz display and gigantic 5500mAh battery
Huawei's next-gen P40 smartphoine could be a monster when it is released in 2020 according to the new rumors, especially if it does indeed sport a 120Hz display and gigantic 5500mAh battery.
Leaker Yash Raj Chaudhary teased some high-end specs for Huawei's new P40 smartphone, with predictions of a 6.5-inch 2K OLED 'Waterfall' display, 120Hz refresh rate, and a huge 64-megapixel rear-facing camera that is backed up by a 20MP ultra-wide camera, and 12MP telephoto lens that includes a macro lens and time-of-flight sensor.
Better yet, the rumors see Huawei using a 5500mAh battery which would hopefully provide ridiculously long battery life for the P40. Huawei will reportedly use graphene to keep the battery in the P40 to 70% the volume of lithium-based batteries, with the battery inside of Huawei's new P40 smartphone to fully charge in 45 minutes from its super-fast 50W charger.

Corsair acquires modular gaming controller company Scuf Gaming
Corsair has just added another company to its portfolio, with the gaming giant acquiring game controller company Scuf Gaming. The acquisition of Scuf Gaming will take place over the next month.
Andy Paul, founder and CEO of Corsair said: "We are thrilled to greatly expand our portfolio of industry-leading peripherals and enter the gaming controller space to help gamers play at their best. Here are the best mods and attachments for the Tesla Cybertruck
Tesla has one of the most-hyped vehicles ever unveiled in its new all-electric and all-exciting Cybertruck, something that could be banned for sale in Europe until its modified. Before its release, we're already seeing a bunch of mods and accessories for Tesla's new Cybertruck.
Some of the mods are super impressive and while some of them won't be real or make it to market, it's really interesting to see some of the mods that could be a possibility for the Tesla Cybertruck. The most impressive is the Warthog design from Halo, which would totally modify Tesla's new Cybertruck into the Warthog from the Halo franchise.
Artist Mo Aoun made some Warthog Cybertruck renders that look out of this world, I mean check it out:

JBL's new self-charging headphones have UNLIMITED battery life
JBL has just announced an interesting and tech-fueled pair of wireless headphones in the new Reflect Eternal, a new pair of over-ear headphones that are being crowdfunded, offering "virtually unlimited" listening.
Inside, JBL is tapping Powerfoyle material from Exeger which is capable of sucking in energy from the sun, and indirect and indoor light. This means that if you're under a source of light, you will be receiving charge to your new JBL Reflect Eternal headphones -- while you'll have up to 68 hours of listening time with a fully-charged headset when you're in darkness.
You can also plug the headphones into power with JBL saying 15 minutes of charge time will give you up to two hours of playback time. The headphones feature 40mm drivers with 20Hz to 20kHz frequency, hands-free calling, ambient audio amplification, multi-device pairing, and a voice assistant. They can even get a little wet, with JBL packing in IPX4 rated water resistance.

China #1 in CPUs: Zhaoxin plans CPUs with PCIe 4.0 and DDR5 for 2021
AMD has been on the fresh new 7nm node for a few months now, pumping out a bunch of Zen 2-based EPYC, Ryzen Threadripper, and Ryzen CPUs -- as well as a slew of new Navi-based Radeon 5000 series cards. Intel has struggled, to say the least, to get to 10nm let alone 7nm.
But now it seems there will be another competitor in 7nm space with Chinese company Zhaoxin its new KX-7000 processor coming up next, using an unannounced CPU architecture and built on the 7nm node with an integrated GPU. The new Zhaoxin CPU will have a GPU that has DX12 support, and features PCIe 4.0 and DDR5 technology support.
Zhaoxin has its KaiSheng series CPU which rocks up to 32 cores, and is made on the older 16nm node... but the company has plans to offer up to 32C/64T on its new server CPU offerings. This will bring Zhaoxin up to the same level as AMD's current Ryzen Threadripper CPUs, leaving AMD to dominate the server CPU game with its Zen 2-based EPYC range of processors.

Tesla Cybertruck might be illegal to sell in Europe, redesign needed
Tesla's exciting new Cybertruck has been riding quite the huge viral marketing wave, all without a single cent being spent by Telsa Motors and its CEO and mastermind Elon Musk. But... the new Cybertruck might be ahead of its time, especially for the European market. Musk was recently seen driving the streets of LA in a prototype Tesla Cybertruck.
According to a new report from a TUV expert, Tesla might not be capable of selling its Cybertruck in Europe -- at least without some major tweaks to its design and components. Tesla would need to integrate side mirror cameras (if they're not optioned onto the Cybertruck), smaller tires, headlight clusters, and the advanced windshield wipers.
Even with these redesign changes and tweaks, Tesla might not be able to sell its Cybertruck in Europe as it would fail safety tests in its current form. Stefan Tellar, an expert at SGS-TUV Saar GmbH of the Automobilwoche says Tesla would need to make big changes to its basic features before it would be considered to pass in European markets.

Xbox Series X's custom SoC built with backward compatibility in mind
Microsoft designed the Xbox Series X's SoC specifically with backward compatibility support in mind,
Microsoft confirms its new next-gen Xbox Series X console will natively support four generations worth of Xbox games when it launches in Holiday 2020. The system will play thousands of games from original Xbox, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and new titles optimized specifically for the Xbox SX.
As it turns out, the Xbox SX was built from the ground up to support last-gen games all the way at the silicon level. Backward compatibility was never off the table and a major feature at the start (MS nor Sony want to displace games libraries and fracture user experiences). Even with the existing Xbox One BC games this task is a massive undertaking of incredibly tough work, but Microsoft's foresight and planning will make bringing older games to the new Zen 2- and Navi-powered behemoth a lot easier.

EA's next Star Wars game will be 'very unique,' could it have co-op?
EA Motive is preparing the next Star Wars game for possible release in 2020, and it should be a departure from the current games on the market.
While helping its sister studios like DICE with Battlefront and Visceral with the now-canned Project Ragtag game, EA's Motive studio has been working on a new Star Wars game for years now. Motive's Montreal studio is helming the new project and exact info has been pretty scarce, but we did get a new tidbit from Motive's general manager Patrick Klaus.
According to Klaus, Motive Montreal is making "a very unique Star Wars experience." But how is it unique? Is it the setting, tone, or story that're unique? Or maybe the gameplay mechanics?

Leaked PlayStation 5 ad prices console at $1,000, is totally fake
A new report says the PlayStation 5 will cost $600 when it releases on December 4, 2020, and the higher-end 4TB Pro version will cost $1,000. This is incredibly fake on so many levels.
It should be pretty obvious the latest PS5 info from Japanese games site Gamers Gate is 100% false clickbait. Sony even called it a "hoax". But just in case any sites pick it up and try to run with it, let's break down all the ways the info is fake.
The site says it got a hold of an official leaked advertisement for the PS5, with pricing, release date, and design of the system. The "final PS5 design" is simply a weird mock-up render that's accompanied by a Nacon PS4 controller. That's not a DualShock 5. Here's what the DualShock 5 should look like.

Discovery: exoplanets in 'habitable zones' have less chance of life
Astronomers have been on the hunt for habitable exoplanets since the first one was discovered. But since that discovery, astronomers have been finding out more and more reasons that complicate the possible existence of life on other planets.
Many exoplanets fall into what astronomers call the "habitable zone" which is a zone in space relative to their star where planets are able to maintain liquid water on their surface. These planets in the "habitable zone" are deemed the most likely to harbor forms of life. However, a recent study has found that not all exoplanets in this zone are prime candidates.
The study found that some exoplanets are subjected to radiation bursts from their neighboring star, and depending on the exoplanet, these radiation bursts could have significant impacts on the planet's atmosphere and, therefore, the chance of life. The study, which was published in the journal Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society: Letters took into account the power of the solar bursts, the exoplanets' magnetic fields, and the atmospheric shielding. For more information on these findings, check out this link here.

YouTuber becomes Santa, gives away thousands of dollars to strangers
Who doesn't love being randomly given thousands of dollars? A better question would be, who wouldn't love to give thousands of dollars if they had it?
Well, YouTuber David Dobrick decided to do the giving away and became Santa Claus for one day to give random strangers thousands of dollars. At about 2:20 into the video, Dobrick is with fellow YouTuber Erin Gilfoy, and he asks her how she found "the one", she replies that she found "the one" via a dating app Bumble. Dobrick then calls Bumble, and the guy who controls the apps monetary funds picks up the phone.
Dobrick says that he will keep Gilfoy's statement in his video if they give him an undisclosed amount of money. The amount that was offered seemed sufficient to Dobrick as the next shot we see of him is him running out of a bank and falling onto his car with literal bundles of cash. Dobrick then proceeds to give random amounts of money to strangers, donating large tips to a donut lady, buying out all the flowers to a flower shop, and giving away huge amounts of iPads to children.

PewDiePie has decided he will take a break from YouTube in early 2020
One of YouTube's most subscribed channels, the legendary PewDiePie, recently posted a new video that featured a special announcement.
PewDiePie or Felix Kjellberg's recently uploaded a video to his channel talking about YouTube's recent changes its making to its harassment policy. In the video, PewDiePie talks about how some of the harassment policy changes aren't well defined, and that the changes are going to hurt some select YouTubers who's channels are purely based on calling out other YouTubers. While these changes that YouTube is making are certainly questionable, PewDiePie also had a special announcement at the end of the video.
PewDiePie says that he is going to be taking a break from YouTube starting early next year, and while he doesn't detail why this break is happening or when specifically, he did say its happening regardless. PewDiePie briefly mentions that "I'm feeling very tired", alluding to what seems to be the changes YouTube has made over the course of his career. While this might be a guess, PewDiePie said that he would be clearing up any confusion with a future video.

Shenmue dev confirms Sega Saturn 2 Black Belt console existed
The Sega Saturn 2--or at least a devkit for one--actually existed, and the original Shenmue was first ported on it.
In a recent interview with IGN Japan, Shenmue game director Keiji Okayasu said something interesting about the game's early development. Shenmue was actually remade twice: Once for a new Sega Saturn with an acceleration chip, and once for the Dreamcast. Only one of these consoles ever saw the light of day and became the last Sega system on the market.
In 1996, Sega teamed up with Lockheed Martin to make a beefier Sega Saturn console. The system, described as Saturn 2, would feature Lockheed Martin's new 32-bit Real3D/100 chipset for more powerful consolidated graphics. These chips were also used in Model 3 boards for coin-op arcade machines. That plan never manifested.

Next-gen Forza is playable on Xbox Series X, is 'vastly different'
Turn10, the same team that managed to hit native 4K 60FPS in Forza 7 with only 70% GPU usage on the Xbox One X, is currently optimizing the next Forza game for the next-gen Xbox. Expect absolute insanity.
It's no surprise that Turn10 is making a new Forza game. Not only was it shown in the Xbox Series X announcement, but big marquee Xbox console launches usually get their own Forza game to sell crazy high-def graphics. What is a surprise is all the new systems that're being baked into the "vastly different" sequel.
In a recent Mixer stream, Turn10 creative director Chris Esaki confirms the game is already playable on the Xbox Series X and has some nifty fine-tuned enhancements this time around. While we didn't get exact info on how the new Forza game will tap the Xbox Series X's 12TFLOP GPU or super-fast VRAM-buffering SSD, Esaki did highlight new pressure systems that add a new dimension to gameplay.
