Netflix's 'The Irishman' was watched by 26.4 million people in a week
Netflix is proud to announce that their recently released movie directed by Martin Scorsese, 'The Irishman' has reached over 20 million accounts already.
Netflix revealed this news via a Tweet from their Netflix Film account. According to the Tweet, Martin Scorsese's 'The Irishman' was watched by 26,404,081 accounts globally just within its first seven days on Netflix. Netflix certainly wants to be bragging about this, considering the streaming platform threw $200 million dollars at the production of the movie.
Since its release, The Irishman has already received five Golden Globe nominations and is no doubt lined up to receive some sort of Oscar nomination as well. Netflix said to Deadline that the movie is expected to reach around 40 million accounts by its first 28 days of release. For those wondering what the requirements are for the movie to be counted as 'watched' -- a user must have sat through at least 70% of the film.

Snapchat star tries to steal website domain at gunpoint, gets 14 years
When thinking about how much a domain name would be worth, probably the big boys like www.Google.com or www.Facebook.com come to mind. But what about the worth to a single person? Immeasurable.
An example of this is Rosi Lorathio Adams, who was just sentenced to 14 years in prison for attempting to steal the domain doitforstate.com from its owner. Adams runs a small social media empire called State Snaps that the US Department of Justice describes as "images and videos of young adults engaged in crude behavior, drunkenness, and nudity". State Snap followers eventually coined the term "Do it for State", which led to State Snaps' owner wanting the domain.
The owners' name was not disclosed, but it's known that Adams contacted the owner of the domain back in 2015 and asked if he could purchase it. The owner did not want to sell him the domain and declined Adams for another two years. Then in June of 2017, Adam's got his cousin Sherman Hopkins Jr to break into the owners' house and force him into giving him ownership of the domain name.

AMD unveils Radeon Pro W5700X: Navi 10 GPU, 9.5 TFLOPs, 16GB GDDR6
Apple has officially released its new Mac Pro into the wild, a new PC that when configured with the best internals you can buy will set you back over $53,000 -- but at the same time AMD has announced the new Radeon Pro W5700X workstation graphics card.
The new Radeon Pro W5700X is a higher-end version of the Navi 10-based Radeon Pro W5700, except this time it features the full Navi 10 die. This means it rolls out with 2560 shading units, versus the 2304 found in the regular Radeon Pro W5700. It also doubles the VRAM count up to 16GB of GDDR6, versus just 8GB of GDDR6 in the regular Radeon Pro W5700.
AMD's new Radeon Pro W5700X is better specced across the board with 9.5 TFLOPs of single-precision compute performance, versus 8.89 TFLOPs on the regular Radeon Pro W5700. We have 160 texture units versus 144 on the regular W5700, while both cards still maintain 64 ROPs. The Navi 10 GPU is clocked lower on the new Radeon Pro W5700X with 1855MHz boost, down from 1930MHz on the normal W5700.

Apple sells wheels to Mac Pro for $400, full system can cost over $50K
Oh, so you thought over $50,000 for the highest-end Apple Mac Pro was too much? Too bad, because the wheels inside of your credit card are going to be going round and round at the $400 price on the optional wheels for your new Mac Pro.
Apple's new Mac Pro has a base starting price of $5999 that quickly gets out of control once you start beefing it up, where going up to 1.5TB of RAM will cost you an additional $25,000 on its own. Boosting up the CPU to a 28-core unit costs $7000 more, while throwing in 2 x Radeon Pro Vega II Duo graphics cards will cost an additional $10,800.
But it would have to be the new optional wheels that cost $400 more, meaning that each individual wheel will cost you $100. But don't worry, you've probably just purchased that $1000 Pro Stand at the same time, and now you'll need to drain that bank account a little more -- so here, I've made it a little more convenient for you to show you some new League of Legends biker jacket from Louis Vuitton that costs $5650.

Samsung executives jailed over destroying evidence in fraud cause
Samsung is in hot water with 8 employees found guilty of destroying evidence in a fraud case, something that is being linked to $3.9 billion in accounting fraud -- sending multiple people to jail.
The Seoul Central District Court ordered 3 executives from Samsung Electronics up to 2 years of jail according to state news agency Yonhap, picked up by the Financial Times. There were other employees scooped up in the mix from 2 other Samsung affiliates: Samsung BioLogics, a drug maker, and its subsidiary Samsung Bioepis.
A raid took place at a Samsung BioLogics factory, where prosecutors found a bunch of laptops and servers that were hidden underneath a meeting room floor. In October, prosecutors pressed the case saying these Samsung employees participated in the "biggest crime of evidence destruction in the history of South Korea".

Samsung Galaxy S11 rumor: 4500mAh battery, larger than Galaxy Note 10+
Samsung will unveil its new Galaxy S11 next year, but ahead of its official reveal we're going to be slammed with news, leaks, and rumors. Today brings us news of a major part of that puzzle -- a massive battery in the Galaxy S11.
Currently the largest battery in Samsung's main families of Galaxy smartphones is the Galaxy Note 10+ which rocks a 4300mAh battery, while rumor has it the new Galaxy S11 will have a 4500mAh battery. Samsung uses a larger display on the Note 10+ which would chew down that battery fast, so battery life on the new Galaxy S11 (if the rumor of the 4500mAh battery is true) could be awesome.
Previous rumors saw Samsung possibly using a 5000mAh battery inside of the new Galaxy S11, which if true would be even better -- but a 4500mAh unit is big enough for a non-Note smartphone. Consider this: Samsung used a 3400mAh battery inside of the Galaxy S10, so a 4500mAh battery is a gigantic upgrade over that in the new Galaxy S11.

Amazon leaks out EVERY single home address of Ring camera customers
Amazon has just done something very, very naughty that might get them scrubbed off Santa's nice list -- the everything giant has just leaked out every single home address of its Ring surveillance camera customers.
In a new investigation by Gizmodo, it revealed that thousands of Amazon Ring camera customers have had their home addresses leaked. The exact location of their house has been displayed, with Gizmodo (and myself, and I'm sure anyone that reads this story) completely blown away. Gizmodo says its discovery casts "new doubt on the effectiveness of the company's privacy safeguards".
Gizmodo continued, adding that its discovery "further offers one of the most "striking" and "disturbing" glimpses yet, privacy experts said, of Amazon's privately run, omni-surveillance shroud that's enveloping U.S. cities".

Intel plans 1.4nm CPUs for 2029: equivalent to 12 silicon atoms across
Intel is years behind in the CPU node game allowing AMD to rip right past and take over with its Zen CPU architecture firmly placed into the leadership position on 7nm -- but it doesn't mean Intel will be taking this lying down.
Dr. Ian Cutress of AnandTech was on the ground at the IEEE International Electron Devices Meeting (IEDM) where it was revealed what Intel plans over the next 10 years. In the slide you can see above, Intel has mapped out the next 10 years that starts with its (continued struggles) on 10nm while seeing 7nm CPUs drop in 2021.
But we can also see that Intel is aiming for 5nm in 2023, 3nm in 2025, 2nm in 2027, and finally -- if you can even believe it, 1.4nm CPUs in 2029. Intel is expecting a two year flow between CPUs, even though it has been stuck on 14nm for what feels like forever now. Just how small is 1.4nm though? Cutress writes that it is the "equivalent of 12 silicon atoms across". Incredible stuff.

Apple's new Mac Pro costs over $50,000 with 1.5TB upgrade costing $25K
You can now officially order Apple's new Mac Pro, which might start at just $5999 -- but the price can get pretty hairy, pretty damn quickly. Apple's impressive new Mac Pro costs north of $50,000 when you've got it fully specced.
What do you get for the massive price of $53,247 you ask? Well, you do get 1.5TB of RAM and quad GPUs -- but everything else is either just alright, or good. The base model Apple Mac Pro for $5999 comes with an 8-core Intel Xeon-W processor, while spending an additional $7000 will see you upgraded to the much-faster 28-core CPU.
Upgrading from the stock 32GB of DDR4 ECC RAM to a simply crazy 1.5TB of RAM will cost you a huge $25,000 -- you could buy 4 x stock Mac Pros for that money and have change to buy the $400 wheels. Heh. There is one issue with the 1.5TB RAM upgrade: you will be stuck at the 24-core Intel Xeon-W processor at a minimum, you can't have an 8-core CPU + 1.5TB of RAM.

Rick and Morty Season 4 Episode 5 teaser - Morty versus Space Snake
The official teaser for Rick and Morty Season 4 Episode 5 has dropped, Rick tells Morty to get back in the car and for a good reason.
Right after Sunday's episode, Adult Swim is already teasing fans with episode 5, the last episode before the break for the holidays. In this episode it Rick gets a flat tire and needs to pull over into 'everything' and make some repairs. Morty decides he wants to explore and puts on a spacesuit and follows Rick out the craft, saying, "I'm not in danger, there's nothing out here".
Rick then corrects Morty's assumption and says, "Literally everything is out here, and unlike everywhere else I'm too busy to help you." A space snake then comes out of nowhere to bite Morty in the ankle, and Rick then demands he gets back into the car after reminding a confused Morty that there's "literally everything in space!." Even space snakes in suits. Rick and Morty Season 4 Episode 5 will be aired this Sunday at 11:30 pm.

Wonder Woman 3 confirmed, Amazon spinoff could also happen
WB debuted the bombastic first trailer to Wonder Woman 1984 just days ago, with its 80s infused look and our second entry into the world of Amazonian Diana Prince, due out in 2020 -- but we're now hearing about Wonder Woman 3 way ahead of schedule.
Wonder Woman and Wonder Woman 1984 director Patty Jenkins revealed during the Comic Con Experience in Sao Paulo that she and Wonder Woman herself Gal Gadot have a story outlined for Wonder Woman 3. Not only that, but the duo teased a spinoff that would be based on the Amazons, which would be a huge deal for WB.
Jenkins said: "We actually already know the whole story to it. It's just a matter of, will we change our minds, and when [to make it]. I think what we don't want to do is do it back to back. It's been great doing these two movies back to back, but I think it's important to give it a little rest in between. And I like doing other things in between. And Gal has other things to do. I never want to make decisions too far in advance. We have to see if we both feel like making the movie we think we want to make when the moment comes".

Moores Law is far from death, according to Intel's Jim Keller
With the heating up of the CPU race, one thing has been touted among PC enthusiasts forum and social media users far and wide. "The death of Moores Law is coming and will limit how far we can go now" or some derivative of this.
For those uninitiated, here is a simple explanation of what Moores law is, from Intel's co-founder, engineer, and the namesake of Moores Law itself, Gordon Moore. "the number of transistors incorporated in a chip will approximately double every 24 months."
So, basically, the density of a chip as far as transistor count should double roughly every two years along with refining and shrinking the package to make these substantially more compact packages smaller while offering up to double the amount of processing muscle.

TONS of new Nintendo Switch indies revealed
Nintendo's latest Indie World stream showcased some really interesting games coming to the Switch next year, including Axiom Verge 2, a game about skateboarding birds, and some awesome-looking hack-and-slash titles.
Indies are massively important to the Switch: Not only do they give gamers nice bite-sized chunks to chew on while waiting on the next big first-party Switch exclusive (Metroid 4, where are you??), but they give massive exposure for little-known devs and boost revenues to boot. It's a win-win for everyone. In today's Indie World presentation, Nintendo underlines its commitment for Nindies with an eclectic slew of unique games.
There's something for everyone here, and the games that really stood out to me are Supermash, Skatebird, and Dreamscaper.

Analyst: Switch could sell 5 million units in China in first year
Nintendo Switch's launch in China, the globe's biggest billion-dollar market, is absolutely huge for Nintendo. But how many systems will they sell? Will the Switch be a hit in a region dominated by free-to-play mobile games? One analyst makes some steep predictions.
Wedbush Securities analyst Michael Pachter predicts the Nintendo Switch could sell as much as 5 million units from now until December 2020, which admittedly seems rather exorbitant. The prediction swing the other way too. Analyst firm UBS say the Switch will only move 50,000 units in China, which is way, way too low, especially with Tencent's massive advertisement campaigns and native WeChat integration into the platform. Japanese games analyst Serkan Toto call these figures "complete insanity".
The 5 million prediction is obviously based on past historical first-year Switch sales when it launched in 2017. Here's a breakdown of first-year sales of the Switch by region:

Capcom is really happy with Jill Valentine's new look in RE3 Remake
It's official: Resident Evil 3 Remake is happening, and it's coming out in April. Like the RE2 REmake before it, the new chapter has some re-imagined character designs, and Capcom is really proud how Jill looks this time around.
Jill Valentine's face has changed quite a bit from the PlayStation 1 era, and rightly so. Her design has been completely revamped thanks to the powerful RE Engine, allowing for realistic facial animations and movement physics. She has more of an adventurer-survivor type of look and reminds me more of Lara Croft instead of a highly-trained STARS operative. This is all by design, and Capcom loves Jill's new look (and so do I).
"Jill's outfit has changed somewhat from her original design. We're really happy with how her new design came out. If you compare Resident Evil 3 to the second installment, it leans more towards action. So we remade everything based on that premise. Her new design very much takes this into account as well," said Resident Evil 3 producer Masachika Kawata in a recent developer clip.

The late 90's cult classic has been reborn in the high-end RE Engine, bringing all-new enhanced visuals, amazing lighting and atmospheric effects, and superb animations. In fact, Resident Evil 3 looks better than this year's excellent RE2 Remake.
Capcom says Resident Evil 3 has been "completely reimagined" this time around, and Jill's new look certain shows as much.

Final Fantasy 7 Remake PS4 timed exclusivity ends in 2021
Final Fantasy 7 Remake is a timed exclusive on PS4 after all, and will release on other systems like PC and Xbox One a year after release.
New box art from the Square Enix press site officially confirms Final Fantasy 7 Remake isn't a full PlayStation 4 exclusive. The first episode of the hugely anticipated Remake will be available on other platforms as early as March 2021, and by then Square Enix will already be knee-deep in making the second episode.
We can also expect a re-release or enhancement patches for next-gen consoles like PlayStation 5 and Project Scarlett to enable native 4K 60FPS gaming, higher frame rates, and new visual effects like ray tracing.

Core completed for rocket that astronauts will take to Moon in 2024
NASA announced this past Monday that they had completed the massive rocket that will be taking US astronauts back to the Moon sometime in 2024.
NASA's huge rocket called the Space Launch System is the tallest rocket ever built, measuring in at 212 feet or 65 meters tall. That's equivalent to a 20-story building. NASA's administrator Jim Bridenstine stood in front of the humongous rocket and officially announced that the core stage had been completed by engineers. Here's what he had to say, "[Today is a]very important day. When we get to announce core stage complete for in fact the SLS rocket."
He continued and said, "We are making significant progress towards achieving that Artemis 3 mission and getting our first woman, and next man to the south pole of the Moon in 2024." NASA's Artemis 1 mission is planned to launch an uncrewed flight in June 2020, but as delays are expected with these kinds of things, it's hard to know any specifics until the date is closer.
