Hello Games on No Man's Sky launch: we shared too much info
Now that No Man's Sky is getting a massive new game-changing update, Hello Games' Sean Murray reflects on the game's original launch and how it affected the studio and helped shape the sci-fi game's future.
Thanks to No Man's Sky's new NEXT update the game is finally getting features that were promised nearly two years ago. Hello Games and Sean Murray caught lots of flak for many blatant untruths about the game when it released in 2016--namely the promise of multiplayer--and now the developer breaks his silence to talk about the situation. Why did he bend the truth? How was No Man's Sky affected by the controversy? Why were the features missing? Ultimately it came down to one thing: too much work and too little time.
In a recent interview with Waypoint, Murray says that one big reason the game was in hot water is that he shared too much information with the press. "So I look back on the press and interviews and stuff we shared way too much information. We shared it too early. We didn't need to do that," he said.

Shazam's first trailer injects fun, and color into the DCEU
Comic-Con 2018 - DC had a strong presence at Comic-Con this year, with trailers to both Aquaman and Shazam debuting during the show. Shazam's trailer is filled with fun, check it out below:
Zachary Levi of Chuck fame (at least for me) leads Shazam, which looks like a huge departure to the doom and gloom of the current flock of DCEU movies. If you don't know about Shazam, it starts off with Billy Batson, a kid who has been introduced to a new foster family, and a new school. Daunting for anyone, right?
Well, after he fights off some of the bullies he gets on the trail and meets a wizard called Shazam. Shazam says to Billy that if he says his name, he'll receive superpowers. Nekminnut: Billy is in adult form as Shazam, played by Zachary Levi. As Shazam, he doesn't know what superpowers he has, so a bunch of fun experimenting begins. Zapping, flying, punching, stopping bullets, and all.

DC unleashes first Aquaman trailer during SDCC 2018
Comic-Con 2018 - DC didn't have the biggest year last year with the how-the-hell-did-it-get-that-bad Justice League, but they could be back with Aquaman later this year, with the company releasing the first official trailer to the Jason Momoa led blockbuster.
The trailer gives us a good glimpse of what to expect: Aquaman's origin story from birth to hero, similar to what we saw with Snyder's reboot of Superman with Man of Steel. Nicole Kidman plays Aquaman's mother, Queen Atlanna, while Patrick Wilson plays his half-brother Orm, also known as the Ocean Master.
Kaan Guldur plays Arthur Curry as a youngster, eyeing off bullies when they're pushing him around in an aquarium of all places, with the sea life and some gigantic sharks taking his side.

GeForce GTX 1170 benchmark surfaces, faster than GTX 1080 Ti
As we get closer to the purported release window of NVIDIA's next-gen GeForce GTX 11 series, the more juicy the rumors get - leading into today and the purported GeForce GTX 1170. As always, this is a huge rumor and I doubt it's even close to real, but let's take a look at it anyway.
The new purported GeForce GTX 1170 has been benchmarked with an Intel Core i5-8600K processor in 3DMark, beating out NVIDIA's best consumer GeForce graphics card, the GTX 1080 Ti. Inside, the GTX 1170 reportedly runs a 256-bit memory bus with 16GB of GDDR6 RAM and a GPU clock speed of 2.5GHz, which is huge.
NVIDIA used a brick wall with GPU clock speeds with Pascal with even the most enthusiast-focused GTX 1080/1080 Ti hitting a maximum GPU clock of 2.2GHz, unless it was heavily modded to take more power. When that happened, the walls to 2.5GHz were risen, and the path to 2.7-2.8GHz were opened.

Apple's new MacBook Pro SEVERELY THROTTLES from Core i9 heat
Apple's new MacBook Pro when configured with the Core i9 processor, maximum RAM and SSD, can come out to a huge $6700 but you'll get a free heater with it. Thanks to a new video posted on YouTube by David Lee, we now know just how ridiculously bad Apple's new Core i9-powered MacBook Pro really is.
Lee said: "This CPU is an unlocked, overclockable chip but all of that CPU potential is wasted inside this chassis -- or more so the thermal solution that's inside here". Why? Because when it's under 100% full load the cooling system Apple has used is not very good at all, and can't cool the Core i9 well enough for it to not severely throttle, threatening system performance.
The thermal throttling of the Core i9-based MBP is so bad that it performs WORSE than the 2017 model with the Core i7 processor. The new 2018 MBP with the 6C/12T processor inside took 39 minutes to render a video in Adobe Premier Pro, versus the 35 minutes of the previous-gen 2017 MBP with its 4C/8T chip.

Western Digital Samples 1.33Tb QLC Die Flash
Western Digital has begun sampling the world's first 1.33 Terabit (Tb) four-bit per cell, 96-layer 3D NAND (BiCS4). The die breaks new ground for flash capacity and runs over the 800MT/s Toggle 3.0 interface standard, twice as fast as the company's previous generation 4-bit per cell technology.
Western Digital plans volume production this year with manufacturing partner Toshiba in the Yokkaichi, Japan facility. BiCS4 products will appear later this year under the Sandisk brand. Western Digital expects to utilize BiCS4 in a variety of applications, from SD cards to enterprise SSDs over the lifetime of the product.
"Leveraging Western Digital's silicon processing, device engineering and system integration capabilities, the QLC technology allows 16 distinct levels to be sensed and utilized for storing data," said Dr. Siva Sivaram, executive vice president, Silicon Technology and Manufacturing at Western Digital. "BiCS4 QLC is our second generation four-bits-per-cell device, and it builds on the learnings from our QLC implementation in 64-layer BiCS3. With the best intrinsic cost structure of any NAND product, BiCS4 underscores our strengths in developing flash innovations that allow our customers' data to thrive across retail, mobile, embedded, client and enterprise environments. We expect the four-bits-per-cell technology will find mainstream use in all these applications."

Capcom add 'Torch Man' to the Mega Man 11 boss roster
Comic-Con 2018 - As we move closer to Mega Man 11 releasing, the newest installment to the Mega Man series, Capcom has revealed yet another boss that will be featured within the title. Everyone welcome Torch Man as he heats up the stage.
Not to long ago we saw a similar treatment from Capcom for Blast Man, now we are diving into what Torch Man's stage will be themed as and what players will be up against. The Torch Man level will be based in a "lush forest and campsite that he's turned into his personal training grounds to hone his "Fist of Fire" technique." Players will have to be cautious of the numerous robots hiding in tents, platforms that are prone to heat-up, low-lit areas and many more obstacles that could appear friend at at first but are actually foe.
Torch Man's stage will mostly consist of flame being hurled at Mega Man, players will have to dodge, weave, duck and slide to avoid the fiery projectiles. The trailer showcases Mega Man using his Speed Gear ability while fighting Torch Man. Mega Man is able to slow down time briefly, more importantly though notice when it is used. It appears that the player utilizes the ability when Torch Man is about do a fast attack to secure a place of repositioning, players should take note of this as using these new abilities at the perfect times could be the difference between life and death. Just looking at Torch Man some Mega Man fans would be able to draw similarities between Fire Man and Magma Dragoon, perhaps Torch Man is a combination of the two? Mega Man 11 comes to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC on October 2nd.

Dragon Ball Super: Broly Movie Trailer revealed at Comic-Con
Comic-Con 2018 - To start the Comic-Con week off strong we have a new trailer for Toei Animation and Twentieth Century Foxs' Dragon Ball Super: Broly.
Thanks to IGN for providing an English dubbed version of the trailer, as the original one is in Japanese. The trailer for the 20th Dragon Ball anime film showcases the legendary super saiyan Broly up against Goku, Vegeta and even Freiza himself. We also spot the Freiza Force, Beerus and Whiz throughout the trailer, but it doesn't seem that the God of Destruction and his wrangler are going to be involved within any of the fighting, instead they will probably just be sticking to the side buffet.
According to Akira Toriyama, the series' writer and creator, this new Broly movie will be featuring what every Dragon Ball fan wants, "fierce combat" and of course a touch of story. Toriyama says that Dragon Ball Super: Broly will take fans through the history of the saiyans, this will be done through showcasing "the paths of destiny that lead to an encounter between Goku, Vegeta, and Broly." The trailer ends with a scene of a baby with a monkey tail, this could be a brand new saiyan, someone Dragon Ball fans have never seen before. Dragon Ball Super: Broly is coming to Japanese theaters on December 14 and will be arriving in North American theaters January 2019.

Comic-Con 2018 - During the Comic-Con convention held in San Diego this year, a brand new story trailer was showcased for Insomniac Games' Spider-Man on the PlayStation 4.
The trailer showcases the problematic future Spider-Man players will be facing, with numerous villains running around the city, and what seems like the people of the city turning their backs on Spider-Man things will be getting quite tough for players. So be prepared for quite a tussle when you come across her in-game.

Gorilla Glass 6 engineered to 'survive multiple drops'
We all know someone in our lives that continuously drops their smartphone, and the most cringe-worthy moment of my days outside of the office (what the hell are they?!) would have to be seeing a smartphone (normally an iPhone) with a cracked display.
Well, Corning has just unveiled its latest Gorilla Glass 6 technology that has been made to sustain even more stress from falls, and has been specifically engineered to "survive multiple drops".
Corning claims that Gorilla Glass 6 is the best yet, and in a press release, vice president and general manager of Corning Gorilla Glass, John Bayne, said: "As consumers become more dependent on their smartphones, the opportunity for potentially damaging drops is also on the rise. Now more than ever, it's critical that the cover glass provides outstanding protection. Corning Gorilla Glass 6 improves upon Gorilla® Glass 5 by surviving drops from higher heights, but, more importantly, has been engineered to survive multiple drops".

Sony teases 'Tombstone' villain inclusion for Spider-Man PS4
The classic Spidy villain 'Tombstone' has been teased by Sony for Insomniac Games' Spider-Man title, judging by the information released we could see the villain added to the roster.
Sony has released the second edition to the Daily Bugle, and throughout each of the pieces found on the paper, there is a column written by the fictional journalist Betty Brant, it details what appears to be called "Grave Encounters." According to Brant, this new street drug is going around called "Grave Dust" causes people to turn into monsters, the description reads as follows: "Terrified eyewitnesses claim that users' skin flushes grey and hardens, quite literally as if they've turned to stone. Others report users break into fits of rage, inflicting violence against innocent citizens, and even themselves."
The official PlayStation Twitter also re-tweeted this newest edition to the Daily Bugle, which clearly shows support for the contents of the article. It wouldn't be that much of stretch to say that these are clear teasers for Tombstone to be joining the villain roster, the comparison between the grey, stone-like drug users and Tombstone is quite unmistakable. Insomniac Games' Spider-Man will be releasing exclusively on the PlayStation 4 on September 7th this year. For further information about the Daily Bugle, or Spider-Man visit the official website here.
