Jak Connor | TV, Movies & Home Theatre | Jul 17, 2018 1:00 AM CDT

It has been almost an entire decade since the last Zombieland movie, and since then fans have been asking for a sequel to the classic zombie slaying horror-comedy. That time has come and the gang are getting back together as well, Zombieland 2 has been officially confirmed.

Zombieland 2 confirmed, all actors/writers return for sequel

Ruben Fleischer was the director for the first Zombieland movie and continued his career with the Deadpool franchise, and also the upcoming Venom movie. Even though Zombieland only had a $25 million dollar budget, the movie was actually a surprise success, making a box office total of $102.4 million. Since then, fans have wanted a sequel to the movie and it is finally happening, Sony Pictures are reuniting the cast of Emma Stone, Woody Harrelson, Jesse Eisenberg and Abigail Breslin for Zombieland 2.

Zombieland 2 will be directed by Fleischer and written by Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese, who also wrote the first movie. Columbia Pictures president, Sanford Panitch commented on the returning sequel, saying "This is one of those projects that fans have wanted to see happen for a long time - and no one wanted to see it happen more than Emma, Woody, Jesse and Abigail. These are some of the most in-demand actors, and I think they are making this movie because they love these characters. We are thrilled Ruben was willing to come back to direct the sequel, as his work on Venom has been truly amazing."

Anthony Garreffa | Electric Vehicles & Cars | Jul 16, 2018 8:41 PM CDT

Pininfarina, the Italian car design firm that created the iconic look of the Ferrari, announced back in March it was working on its own electric hypercar, and now we have more information on what to expect.

Ferrari designer building $2 million electric hypercar

The new electric hypercar is expected to cost a huge $2 million, hit 60 miles per hour in under two seconds, and have a top speed of 250 mph. The all-electric hypercar is expected to have a range of over 300 miles, and charge up to 80% capacity in a super-fast 15 minutes.

Pininfarina calls its upcoming electric hypercar the PFO, at least for now, with the Italian firm using ethically sourced natural woods and paints that are free of chemical ingredients. Pininfarina will be showing off PFO to VIP guests during the Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance next month, but after that it'll be under wraps until the Geneva Motor Show in March 2019.

Why Atari VCS doesn't use Ryzen APU

Derek Strickland | Gaming | Jul 16, 2018 5:27 PM CDT

After decades of sitting on the sidelines Atari will jump back in with its new Atari VCS PC-that's-also-a-console system. But the system will ship with somewhat outdated specs, and now the console's architect reveals why.

Why Atari VCS doesn't use Ryzen APU

When the Atari VCS ships (possibly during its targeted July 2019 timeframe) it'll roll out with underwhelming hardware--at least compared to today's growing consoles and the ever-eclipsing might of PC components. Rather than tapping AMD's newer Ryzen APU lineup for the VCS, Atari went with the older Bristol Ridge family for a number of reasons including TDP, cost, and overall processor usage efficiency.

VCS system architect Rob Wyatt reveals more specifics on why Bristol Ridge is being used over Ryzen:

Atari VCS upgraded to 8GB of unified memory

Derek Strickland | Gaming | Jul 16, 2018 4:19 PM CDT

The Atari VCS gets a nice little hardware jump to attract gamers and consumers, but will it be enough?

Atari VCS upgraded to 8GB of unified memory

Right from the very beginning Atari's new VCS console seemed like an iffy bet. The system, which is touted as a kind of all-in-one media box, seems a kind of redundant: it's somewhat expensive and scratches an itch that most mini PCs can achieve. One of the chief concerns was the Atari VCS' power; the company says the console can play games on its Linux platform but some specs were lacking, namely in the RAM offering.

Apparently Atari thought the same thing, which is why it's doubling the VCS' RAM. In a recent Medium post VCS system architect Rob Wyatt revealed the console will now have 8GB of unified DDR4 system memory (likely 2400MHz) versus the original 4GB module.

Inland Professional SATA III moves to 2nd place at Amazon

Chris Ramseyer | Storage | Jul 16, 2018 8:00 AM CDT

Following our weekend review of the Inland Professional SATA III $75 480GB SSD, the drive moves into second place on Amazon's Best-Selling Internal SSD List.

Inland Professional SATA III moves to 2nd place at Amazon

The drive didn't break any performance records in our tests but proved to be a good entry-level SSD. It's not a replacement for most existing SSDs but it a low-cost alternative to hard disk drives.

If you are not familiar with the brand, Inland Professional is a house brand for Microcenter. The company has a number of brick and mortar stores in the United States but is known primarily for discounted CPU and motherboard packages. The SATA III started shipping around March this year but only gained popularity recently when prices fell for all SSDs. The drive ships with a standard 3-year limited warranty honored through Microcenter.

Apple's new external GPU: Radeon Pro 580 with 8GB for $699

Anthony Garreffa | Graphics Cards | Jul 13, 2018 7:33 PM CDT

Apple announced a bunch of updated MacBook Pros with some additional GPU horsepower if needed, with the announcement of a team up with Blackmagic on a new external GPU.

Apple's new external GPU: Radeon Pro 580 with 8GB for $699

The new external GPU in question is based on the Radeon Pro 580 with 8GB of VRAM, which Apple says is good for up to 2.8x faster graphics performance on the refreshed 15-inch MBP, while it should be a whopping 8x faster than the GPU inside of the new 13-inch MBP.

The new Apple/Blackmagic external GPU mash up packs 2 x Thunderbolt 3 ports, 4 x USB 3.0 ports, and 1 x HDMI 2.0 port which means it doubles as a docking station, too. It's also the first external GPU solution to support Thunderbolt 3 displays, such as the 5K-capable LG display that Apple itself recommends for the MacBook Pro.

Apple's most expensive new MacBook Pro costs an insane $6700

Anthony Garreffa | Laptops | Jul 13, 2018 6:30 PM CDT

Apple has updated both the 13-inch and 15-inch Touch Bar MacBook Pro laptops, which now pack Intel's latest eighth-generation Core processors.

Apple's most expensive new MacBook Pro costs an insane $6700

The new MacBook Pros can be configured with some deliciously high-end specs including an Intel Core i9 processor, up to 32GB of RAM, and 4TB of SSD storage. The new 2018 models have the same starting price as their 2017 counterparts, with the "base" 15-inch MBP starting at $2399 while the "high-end" MBP starts at $2799 which packs a faster CPU, better GPU, and twice the SSD capacity.

Jumping from the $2799 price we have a $300 upgrade that will net you the Core i7 @ 2.6GHz to a Core i9 @ 2.9GHz, while $400 more gets you 1TB of SSD, and another $1200 gets you 2TB of SSD that tops the price at $4299. But the draining your bank account doesn't end there for Apple, as there's an additional $400 for 32GB of RAM, and a freaking insane $3200 additional cost if you want 4TB of SSD.

This new season has changed the story up a little bit, the crack in sky is breaking reality and teleporting people and objects all around the place. It seems as if the Fortnite universe is colliding with another universe, and that these breaks in reality are forcing anomalies to happen across the map.

Content wise, Epic Games has decided to add a Viking Ship, ancient statues, an All terrain Kart (ATK) and much more juicy pieces to enjoy throughout the new season. Small things that have been fixed and tweaked are: the spread on shotguns, the amount of pellets they fire and the ability of firing another shotgun right after firing the first.
