According to ShrewdHunter, as of the update on the 23rd of March Valve has added support for the Nintendo Switch Pro controller through Steam Link. ShrewdHunter explains that the controller works perfectly fine but currently doesn't have the 'rumble' feature.

ShrewdHunter also checked if the Joy Con controllers were supported through Steam Link but unfortunately this didn't work, Steam Link did recognize the controllers though as the screen displayed 'Joy Con L.' Check out the below image to see ShrewdHunters pairing.

Far Cry 2 has better physics than Far Cry 5, is 10 years old

Anthony Garreffa | Gaming | Apr 8, 2018 11:25 PM CDT

Far Cry 5 has just been released and in order to rain on gamers' parades, we have a new video from 'Crowbcat' on YouTube that shows just how impressive the physics were... in Far Cry 2. Not 5. Two.

Far Cry 2 has better physics than Far Cry 5, is 10 years old

The video shows an awesome fire effects comparison that has Far Cry 2 sitting in a far better position, with grass and trees burning when the fire spreads, versus Far Cry 5 where it doesn't get affected. Boo.

Far Cry 5's tall grass however, is bendable, but in Far Cry 2 most of the bushes could be bent over. Environmental destruction in Far Cry 5 is limited, while in Far Cry 2 you could destroy lights and while it might sound like a small thing, Far Cry 2 is 10 years old.

ASUS keep ROG STRIX branding for next-gen Ryzen motherboards

Anthony Garreffa | Motherboards | Apr 8, 2018 10:17 PM CDT

If there was a teeny tiny Ryzen 2000-capable motherboard that wins best all-round looks, it would go to the ASUS ROG STRIX X470-I Mini-ITX, which looks awesome.

The upcoming ASUS ROG STRIX X470-I Mini-ITX is a powerhouse motherboard offering a hidden M.2 slot, two DDR4 DIMM slots, and a built-in Wi-Fi adapter.

ASUS includes the usual full-length PCIe x16 slot, so you can power your new AMD Ryzen 7 2700X with a Radeon RX Vega 64 (yeah, probably not), or a GeForce GTX 1080 Ti.

Zuck flashback to 2010: 'dumb fuc*s' for trusting Facebook

Anthony Garreffa | Internet & Websites | Apr 8, 2018 6:21 AM CDT

Facebook is standing on a dumpster fire of trouble right now, with CEO and founder Mark Zuckerberg at the center of it all. All of this drama was kicked off with the Cambridge Analytica news, and has truly snowballed since.

Zuck flashback to 2010: 'dumb fuc*s' for trusting Facebook

It has been reported that Facebook deleted Zuckerberg's messages from users' inboxes, which is insane, considering Facebook users are the only ones that have the ability to delete messages from their inboxes. Facebook has obviously got super admin powers to delete peasants' messages, or in this case, messages sent by Facebook execs.

In the midst of the world finding this out, Facebook not-so-surprisingly said they are planning to launch a new "unsend" features in the coming months. TechCrunch talked to three sources that wanted to remain anonymous "out of fear of angering Zuckerberg or burning bridges with the company" that the messages send by Zuckerberg to both former employees and non-employees were deleted.

PUBG's new 'War Mode' acts more like a deathmatch round

Anthony Garreffa | Gaming | Apr 8, 2018 4:24 AM CDT

Battlegrounds received a new game mode in the last few days, with developer PUBG Corp teasing the new deathmatch-style War Mode in the test servers.

PUBG's new 'War Mode' acts more like a deathmatch round

War Mode sees squads of people landing on a small zone on the map with a bunch of weapons as they land, with teh sole purpose of this mode is killing everyone, and that's it. PUBG gamers will need to rack up points before other squads of enemies do, through killing, knocking someone down, or reviving a team mate.

Twitch streamers, YouTubers and the dev team are the only ones that can create custom PUBG games, which is where War Mode is an exclusive. War Mode itself is still in "a very early stage of development", so it's in early testing for now.

Epic Games had an invite-only system on Fortnite at first, but earlier this week it was taken away which saw daily revenue drive from $600,000 to a huge $1.8 million according to Sensor Tower. Their data also has Fortnite being downloaded around 11 million times on iOS alone.

The new expansion will be raising the max level cap from a current 110 to 120, it will also be new continents such as Kul Tiras and Zandalar. Battle for Azeroth will also be adding more dungeons/raids, warfronts and three new races for both the Alliance and the Horde.

CEO and Co-founder of Blizzard Entertainment commented on the new expansion and said: "In Battle for Azeroth, the stakes for the Alliance and the Horde are incredibly high, and a player's faction will have a more meaningful impact on their experience than in any World of Warcraft expansion to date. Whether they're journeying to unexplored lands to recruit allies or fighting to secure war resources, players will redefine what it truly means to be 'For the Horde' or 'For the Alliance' when the expansion arrives this August."

Farmer plays farming game to get away from his farming life

Anthony Garreffa | Gaming | Apr 6, 2018 11:59 PM CDT

If there was a job within a job that you wouldn't expect to see on Reddit, it would be a farmer playing a farming game while... farming. This is exactly what 'ZoMgPwNaGe' on Reddit posted to the /r/StardewValley subreddit, which propelled it up the ranks of Reddit with a huge 3830 upvotes at the time of writing.

Farmer plays farming game to get away from his farming life

ZoMgPwNaGe, otherwise known as Tim, has the top comment on his post saying: "Wow great. You have one of the most important jobs in our society! Thank you very much!". Tim replied saying "Thank you, that's a refreshing opinion of us to hear :)", and then 'icebiker' said: "Is that not a common opinion? I love vegetable farmers - I thought everyone did? I'm Canadian though, maybe it's different here?".

That's where the more personal reply comes in, with Tim saying: "A lot of people seem to think farmers are corporate drones who are out to poison them with as many chemicals Bayer and Monsanto will let us have, which is false. Our farm has a total of 1 employee, the rest of the work is done by myself and my dad. Our partners have a total of 3 employees. Between us we have nearly 2k acres of ground. We're very much not corporate. And we use the least amount of chemicals and pesticide possible, because it's our money we're spending".

Fortnite is so addictive, people are trying to get it BANNED

Anthony Garreffa | Gaming | Apr 6, 2018 11:20 PM CDT

Epic Games knows it has a hit on its hands when Fortnite has addicted students in class forcing their teacher to troll them, and now affected families and partners want the game banned because it as "brainwashed" their loved ones.

Fortnite is so addictive, people are trying to get it BANNED

There is a petition on Change.org that is simply called "Get rid of Fortnite", where anyone who signs it wishes for the game to be banned so their loved ones have time spared up to spend with them instead of battling gamers in Fortnite. The petition has 750 signatures at the time of writing.

Fortnite won't be banned, no matter the petition, as the petition itself was "made as a joke" with the person who started the petition saying they "started playing it" and said that "it's actually fun". The person continued, saying: "But i see how the game can take away from family time and It is a problem in that sense and i see how mothers get annoyed".

ASUS AREZ: Radeon loses ROG branding because of NVIDIA GPP?

Anthony Garreffa | Graphics Cards | Apr 6, 2018 10:36 PM CDT

It looks like ASUS is preparing a new brand of graphics cards, completely separate to their gaming-focused Republic of Gamers (ROG) brand, exclusive for AMD and their Radeon family of cards.

ASUS AREZ: Radeon loses ROG branding because of NVIDIA GPP?

VideoCardz reports that ASUS is preparing a new AREZ brand for Radeon graphics cards, where they might not even be branded as ASUS at all. There will not be an AREZ ROG STRIX graphics card, it would simply be AREZ STRIX, we should also see other sub series including the AREZ branding including Phoenix and Expedition.

It's an interesting move, but if NVIDIA is forging ahead with its GeForce Partner Program, I'm sure one of their biggest AIBs (ASUS) would want to stay in NVIDIA's good graces and continue pumping out GeForce GTX series graphics cards under its strong ROG brand.

Samsung rides Q1 2018: memory biz is booming, profits soar

Anthony Garreffa | Business, Financial & Legal | Apr 6, 2018 9:59 PM CDT

Samsung has had a massive first three months of 2018, with a huge 58% increase in profit and demand for its memory chips through the roof, more than enough to offset Apple's reduced requirement of displays for iPhone X.

Samsung rides Q1 2018: memory biz is booming, profits soar

Bloomberg is reporting that Samsung's operating income reached $14.7 billion in Q1 2018, compared to $13.5 billion that analysts expected Samsung to report. Samsung sold through a huge $56.4 billion in Q1 2018, with these sales including the new Galaxy S9 and the near unlimited want for memory across the world with ASIC miners and graphics cards.

Samsung became the world's largest chipmaker by sales late last year, besting Intel, but memory is where Samsung is making its strides lately. Lee Jay-yun, an analyst with Yuanta Securities Co. explains: "Memory chips are the loyal son of Samsung. Still, momentum may slow toward the end of this year with price rises likely to be less steep than last year".

Classic SNK games compilation arriving on Nintendo Switch

Derek Strickland | Gaming | Apr 6, 2018 6:47 PM CDT

SNK is re-releasing a bunch of its classic retro games in a compilation on the Nintendo Switch.

Classic SNK games compilation arriving on Nintendo Switch

Following Capcom's big Street Fighter and Mega Man collections, NIS America is bringing a bunch of classic SNK arcade and console games to the Nintendo Switch, further cementing the idea that the Switch is either A) not getting traditional Virtual Console game store support or B) Virtual Console isn't coming for quite some time. Given these collections, and that ACA is selling a bunch of re-released old-school games on the Switch for $7.99 a pop, option A is looking more and more likely.

The SNK 40th Anniversary Collection will include a number of hits like Vanguard and Ikari Warriors, but I'm admittedly mostly excited to play Crystalis, which is definitely one of my favorite NES games of all time. The games bundle will have most of the options you'd expect including save states and optimized graphics.

Final Fantasy XV level editor coming to PC this Fall

Derek Strickland | Gaming | Apr 6, 2018 5:36 PM CDT

Square Enix finally reveals when PC gamers can start making Final Fantasy XV mods...and we'll be waiting a fair bit for the complete package.

Final Fantasy XV level editor coming to PC this Fall

One of the biggest questions I had about Final Fantasy XV's confirmed mod support was 'just how in-depth will the tools be, and how long until we can use them?' The answer to the first part is Fall 2018, at least for the big level editor tool, and the second part is a bit more vague. While Square Enix didn't confirm that FFXV Windows Edition gamers would have as much freedom as in, say, Bethesda's Creation Kit that has spawned hundreds (maybe thousands) of awesome player-created mods, the company did give some answers.

At a PAX East panel the dev team said that FFXV's mod support will roll out in two stages: first it'll release a lighter program that allows users to make customized gear and weapons and upload them to the Steam Workshop. This version is supposed to roll out in Spring so it should be released fairly soon. But the second part is the most interesting--Final Fantasy XV is getting a legitimate level editor that essentially turns Eos into a playground of sorts. The editor, which is coming in Fall, will let users make and manipulate in-game areas as well as throw in enemies and even quests, so depending on how in-depth the tool is, this could be a huge game-changer for the PC flavor.

Blockchain technology can revolutionize gaming!

Casey Pyne | Gaming | Apr 6, 2018 6:49 AM CDT

When you have a headline which encompasses two of my favourite things, you automatically get my attention! Etherbot wrote a fantastic article "The Blockchain Gaming Revolution: Why Ethereum will revolutionise a $100 billion dollar industry" on why we need blockchain technology in gaming and why we need it asap! Blockchain is not here just here to disrupt banks and tracking packages, it's here to revolutionise gaming!

Blockchain technology can revolutionize gaming!

As Etherbot points out the gaming industry is currently a 100 billion dollar industry and it is set to triple by 2022. Most of us have bought skins or a neon pack here and there and the kids coming through want so much more and have their parents cash to splash.

How does blockchain come in? Etherbot writes: "Imagine a game where every hour you spend grinding or smashing your opponent isn't financially in vain. Where the ultra-rare drop you find could be worth thousands, or you could buy the very weapon used to win a World Championship."
