Anthony Garreffa | Gaming | Aug 2, 2018 11:35 PM CDT

Additional cards will cost more money, with booster packs setting gamers back $2 a pop. You can even sell unwanted cards through Valve's own Steam Marketplace. The company has expansion packs coming as well, with modes tied to card-pack types.

It sounds like Magic: The Gathering in a big way and that is meant to be, as Magic: The Gathering game designer Richard Garfield is leading Artifact for Valve. Tesla cars will soon have built-in Atari games

Anthony Garreffa | Electric Vehicles & Cars | Aug 2, 2018 7:32 PM CDT

Elon Musk has taken to Twitter to tease that in the upcoming Tesla V9.0 release that is 4 weeks away, that Tesla owners will enjoy "some of the best classic" Atari games as Easter Eggs in the new Tesla update.

Tesla cars will soon have built-in Atari games

Jordan Golson replied to Musk on Twitter saying there should be specific classic Atari games like Ms. Pac-Man, naturally. Food Fight, Dig Dug, Pole Position, Tempest, and Missile Command in the update. Musk replied saying that he's hoping to include the "last three" in this release, which means we should expect Pole Position, Tempest and Missile Command.

Musk continued, adding that with Pole Position it'll be "linked to actual car steering" but made sure to add that this is "while stationary" so that people don't think you'll be flying down the highway in your Tesla playing Pole Position at the same time. Because that would end in a disaster.

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1180 PCB: more power, new SLI finger

Anthony Garreffa | Graphics Cards | Aug 2, 2018 5:15 AM CDT

NVIDIA seems to be launching its new GeForce GTX 1180 during its GeForce Gaming Celebration at Gamescom 2018, with the purported PCB of the new GTX 1180 with either 8GB or 16GB of GDDR6 leaking.

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1180 PCB: more power, new SLI finger

This is the front of the new GTX 1180 PCB where we can see an interesting new SLI finger that is much bigger, some tighter VRAM placements which should be a new home for GDDR6. We also have a 6+8-pin PCIe power connector setup, which is an additional 6-pin PCIe power connector on top of the single 8-pin PCIe power connector that was required on the GeForce GTX 1080 Founders Edition.

Keen-eyed readers will notice that we probably won't have a DVI output on the new GeForce GTX 1180, but we should expect the new VirtualLink connector through USB Type-C. The SLI finger upgrade could be awesome, paving the way for NVLink for gamers compared to the aging (and virtually dead) SLI technology that has sh*t multi-GPU scaling. Could we expect 90-100% scaling with multiple GTX 1180s in NVLink/next-gen SLI? We're going to need it for those 4K 144Hz HDR G-Sync monitors and 65-inch 4K 120Hz HDR G-Sync BFGD TVs.

According to a user that pre-ordered the title for the Nintendo Switch, Amazon has sent out an email regarding the release date, it has scheduled the launch for October 1st.

Unfortunately, we do not know if this is just a placeholder date since Amazon have a tendency to have placeholder dates for products that are unreleased. The publisher, Bandai Namco and the developer FromSoftware are no doubt working tirelessly to get the Nintendo Switch port for Dark Souls Remastered out as soon as possible. They have been working on it for quite some time now so this could very well be the genuine release date, but until there is an official statement made from either the developer or publisher, do take this email date with a grain of salt. Fans of the series that were hoping to receive three separate discs of their favorite Spyro games will now be disappointed, Activision has taken to their website to say "Games 2 and 3 require download via internet." This means that the Trilogy will be arriving on 1 disc with three quarters of all three titles within the disc and just a quick patch to clean everything up. Another possibility is that the one disc could just be containing the first game, and then the other two will come in the form of game codes.

The company took a blog post and said: "For Logitech, this is a new space. But, at the same time, it's not at all. Gamers are already using our Logitech G webcams to stream. Joining up with Blue and their microphone lines is a logical adjacent opportunity with great synergies".

Blue Microphones was founded in 1995 and make microphones starting from $60 right up to studio-grade microphones worth a huge $4000. Monster Hunter World sells 8.3 million copies

Derek Strickland | Gaming | Aug 1, 2018 6:20 PM CDT

Monster Hunter World is a smash success that's dramatically spiked Capcom's earnings.

Monster Hunter World sells 8.3 million copies

Thanks to games like Monster Hunter World, Capcom started off its new fiscal year with a monumental 647% profit increase. In its financials, Capcom confirmed that the online monster-slaying game has now sold more than 8.3 million copies worldwide. In the three-month period ended June 30, Capcom sold 4.35 million copies of its new and catalog games, representing a sizable jump of 74% year-over-year.

But raw sales aren't everything. Every online game needs a way to continually engage its playerbase with new content, promos, events, and other community-driven strategies. And, of course, ways of making long-term revenues via in-game purchases. Capcom seems to be handling things quite well and likely has a strong internal roadmap, and asserts that Monster Hunter World is "gaining further popularity through the expansion of its user base."
