Fallout 76 live action trailer is fun in the irradiated sun

Bethesda injects a little humor into Fallout 76's dreary survival.

Bethesda just released a new live-action trailer for Fallout 76 to get gamers hyped for irradiated Appalachia.

Although Fallout 76 looks like a mixture between tension and tedium, I have no doubts the game will continually evolve into something great. As an online game it's imperative that multiplayer interactivity is a focus, but it's not the sole focus: Fallout 76 can be played solo the entire time if you so choose. The real magic is how you play with other people though, and that could mean lots of things.

The new live-action trailer shows gamers questing with their friends in humorous fashion, and while it's entirely fake and dramatized like Sony's Greatness Awaits trailers, there's that air of camaraderie that binds players to social online games. There's a lot to do in nuked West Virginia after all--it's only the largest playable landmass Bethesda Game Studios has ever made--including hunting, scavenging, PVP action, building, and questing...so why not bring a friend or two along for the ride?

Remember that Fallout 76 is an online-only service game that will be monetized with optional cosmetic microtransactions. These purchases will fund a long-running string of updates and free content to engage players over years, and Bethesda hopes Fallout 76 will continue for a long, long time.

Fallout 76 launches on November 14, 2018 for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
