PlayStation Classic packs 20 pre-loaded PS1 games, costs $99
Sony has just announced the new PlayStation Classic, a small retro console that packs 20 pre-installed PS1 games and even two replica PS1 controllers.
PlayStation Classic will be pre-loaded with PS1 classics like Final Fantasy VII, Jumping Flash, Ridge Racer Type 4, Tekken 3, and Wild Arms. Sony hasn't announced what the other pre-installed games will be, but I'm hoping for some original Resident Evil and Tomb Raider action. I pumped some serious hours into those games at the time, it would be wild to see them sitting on the console if Sony wanted to blow retro minds.
The new PlayStation Classic is a huge 45% smaller than the original PlayStation, with the console not having an operating optical drive as it's there for show. The power button is still that, a power button while the reset button will suspend games when pressed. Pressing the OPEN button will change the virtual disc.

EK Water Blocks launches next-gen Velocity CPU water blocks
EK Water Blocks has just announced its new high-performance water blocks for both AMD and Intel sockets, with the new Velocity CPU water block coming in 14 different versions. RGBs are in the mix, but EK is also offering minimalistic bare copper cold plates as well, so you won't need all that RGB bling if you want a slick, clean look.
EK chose the Velocity brand for its new coolers as it was inspired by the "necessity to be lean and agile in the world of liquid cooling. A high-performance CPU water block is no good if it is too restrictive on the flow and it is bottlenecking your entire cooling loop.
Efficient coolant flow and performance should go hand in hand, and neither of the two should be sacrificed for one another".

Bethesda boss talks next-gen Xbox and PS5 consoles
We know that AMD is working with Sony on the development of its Navi GPU architecture for the next-gen PlayStation 5 console, and while AMD has teased it's working on the 'secret sauce' for both Microsoft and Sony's new consoles, game developers have been pretty quiet.
Bethesda boss Pete Hines has come out acknowledging the new consoles in an interview with The Telegraph, where he talked about how big of a shift we can expect between the current-gen consoles and the new ones, as well as the shifts between Xbox/PS2, Xbox 360/PS3, and Xbox One/PS4.
Hines said: "I am curious to see what it looks like and how it's different. I'm privy to some stuff which obviously I can't really talk about, but there is also a lot that I'm not sure on what it's going to look like. And more importantly how big a shift we can expect. I feel like there was a shift from Xbox and PS2 to Xbox 360 and PS3 that was pretty demonstrable. Because we went from the old way to HD and the HD thing was so dramatic. It was night and day".

SpaceX plans first private customer for Moon trip in 2023
SpaceX CEO and Tesla founder Elon Musk has announced that the first private customer to ride around the Moon on SpaceX's new futuristic rocket: the Big Falcon Rocket (BFR). The person in question is Japanese billionaire and founder of Zozotown, Japan's largest online clothing retailer, Yusaku Maezawa.
Maezawa will be jetting off to the Moon inside of SpaceX's new BFR sometime in 2023 in an art project called #dearMoon, where he will take artists on the trip with him, and then ask them to create pieces of art that will inspire the human race once they get back. Maezawa said: "Finally, I can tell you that I choose to go to the Moon! I choose to go to the moon with artists!"
Maezawa "bought all the seats" on the BFR and will be looking for 6-8 artists from a round the world to take the week-lone trip to the Moon and back. He explains: "I would like to invite six to eight artists from around the world to join me on this mission to the Moon. These artists will be asked to create something after they return to Earth, and these masterpieces will inspire the dreamer within all of us".

Metro Exodus new GeForce RTX real-time ray traced GI video
In the home stretch of NVIDIA's next-gen GeForce RTX graphics card launch, 4A Games and NVIDIA have teamed up for a new video of Metro Exodus running with NVIDIA RTX real-time ray traced global illumination, and it looks REALLY good.
Metro Exodus is running on a single GeForce RTX 2080 Ti graphics card and presumably running at 1080p which you can see that it sometimes, but not always, hits 60FPS. I'm sure that with improved drivers and optimization over the next few months leading up to Metro Exodus' launch, we'll see improved performance on all graphics cards, but a larger jump on the GeForce RTX cards, hopefully.
You can see that it looks absolutely amazing when it's turned on and running, a huge leap to the way lighting is handled with RTX off. The realism of the entire game increases as soon as it's turned on, changing the entire look and feel of the game. But it seems that the FPS drops to somewhere between 25-30FPS when RTX is enabled, and that's not going to be a good experience for those dropping $799-$1199 on a new graphics card.

Next-gen PSVR may have eye-tracking, fight motion sickness
Sony's new VR HMD patent is pretty weird. It features some interesting add-ons like eye-tracking tech, but it can also monitor the words you say--or words that are spoken to you--to help avoid "ill health effects". The aim here is to tackle different forms of virtual reality sickness and it may be a huge focus for Sony's next-gen PlayStation VR headset.
The patent, which was originally filed in 2017 and published this month, is largely focused on making VR safer and more healthy for users by tackling a huge accessibility barrier: discomfort. The HMD can be outfitted with various biometric sensors that monitor key signals and warn users if they're doing unhealthy things while in VR. It's also linked to an external remote device that processes data and can send it to a smartphone, or via on-screen HMD indicators.
Eye-tracking cameras can adjust in-game images based on your eye movements or pupils, or flash a warning message on the HUD if your posture starts to slouch. There's even mention of the HMD being complimented with other sensors that monitor blood pressure, glucose levels, breathing, and even neural activity.

Halo 6 sounds like it'll repeat Halo 5's mistakes
Update: 343i confirms Halo 6 won't have real-money lootboxes.
Halo 5: Guardians is pretty much a bad Halo game. It might not be a bad game, but it's a bad Halo game that really does betray a lot of the series core tenants. But Microsoft and 343 Industries have to adapt to changes in the market--live services, microtransactions, engagement...bleh--in an effort to make money, which pretty much means Halo 6 should be a lot like Halo 5. Here's some of the things we've learned about Master Chief's upcoming adventure.
Yesterday we reported on a troubling job listing at 343 Industries. The listing strongly hinted Halo 6 (aka Halo: Infinite) will be monetized with microtransactions, which shouldn't be surprising. Microsoft made quite a bit of cash from Halo 5's randomized-gambling-lootbox REQ packs, and I long thought this would roll over to Halo 6.

Capcom shutters Dead Rising studio, cancels all projects
Capcom Vancouver's in-development Dead Rising game has been cancelled as the studio ramps down for closure.
In today's press release Capcom announced it's decided to kill off all future projects from its Vancouver branch. The Japanese games-maker is prepared for a 4.5 billion yen loss (about $40 million) in its 1H 2018 earnings as a result, which basically equates to the amount invested in the now-cancelled project. Capcom will now focus on its more lucrative franchises like Resident Evil and Devil May Cry, both of which have upcoming releases in the fiscal year. But the new Dead Rising game isn't the only casualty: Capcom Vancouver is actually closing down.
A company rep told Kotaku that the studio will operate under a "skeleton crew" until it closes in January 2019.

Dad/Toddler infiltrate prize machine, steals Nintendo Switch
Some could call it an inside job, others would call it a heist. Whatever definition you want to give this thievery is up to you, but a New Hampshire father has just been caught on camera sending his toddler daughter inside a prize machine to retrieve prizes. The father and his child managed to get away with a Nintendo Switch.
According to The Union Leader, security at a mall in Rockingham Park, New Hampshire was altered by employees from the store opposite the burglary. The report says that the employee heard "Two people came in and I heard them say, 'That's so unsafe.' So I went outside and all I saw was the toddler's head peeping out of the front of the machine."

Amazon's MMO title 'New World' gets batch of screenshots
Amazon Game Studios has decided to step into the world of MMO's with their brand new upcoming title New World. There is currently no release for to the game but we do have a new batch of screenshots showcasing some diverse environments.
From the screenshots we can see that Amazon's title will have quite unique and extremely different environments. We can see eerie mist lands that are plagued with swamps, kingdoms built in the high mountains that seem to have some form of magic attached to the rock resulting in its ability to hover. Ice lands with castle structures doused in snow and ice, green fields of grass under the moonlight and small castle forts showcased under mid-day light.
Unfortunately these images have not been released in the highest quality so we cannot appreciate the detail as much as we would of liked to. For those that don't know, New World is being built on the Lumberyard Engine, which originally comes from CRYENGINE, so we can expect that if another batch of screenshots are released and they are in a higher resolution they will look much better than the ones we are looking at today. Unfortunately there is no known release date for New World, but if you are interested in signing up for the games alpha testing, visit the official website here.

Smash Bros. Ultimate recent leak: Incineroar/Ken/Minecraft
Many people within the Super Smash Bros. community are completely fed up with the abundance of fake leaks regarding the coming release of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. The amount of fake leaks I have encountered has forced me to create my own filter for "leaked" information, this means I only trust a handful of sources with the possibility of said information being correct. Vergeben is one of these sources.
For those that aren't aware of the credentials of Vergeben, the leaker managed to call that Metroids Ridley and Simon Belmont would be joining the games roster. Vergeben also called that all of the characters from the previous Smash Bros. titles would be returning for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Now, the known leaker has spoken again, before we get into the details though, please don't take his word for gospel just because he has been previously correct. A healthy amount of skepticism should always be applied when diving into the topic of "leaks" for Super Smash Bros.
With the necessary disclaimers now finished lets get into what has been said. Looking towards a post found on the Gamefaq's forums, Vergeben has said there is to be a coming gen 7 Pokemon. Here is what was exactly said "The gen 7 Pokemon that isn't Decidueye, Lycanroc, or obviously not Mimikyu is Incineroar. I finally heard that it is Incineroar from all my main Smash sources so there you have it." Vergeben continues on to address the rest of the roster, saying "As for the roster, in the very least, Incineroar and Ken are left."
