Marvel and Insomniac Games' hit PS4 title, Spider-Man is no doubt one of the 'must pick ups' for PlayStation 4 owners, this claim has been further reinforced by a recent announcement from Insomniac Games' Community Director.

The news comes from Insomniac Games' Community Director, James Stevenson who took to Twitter to announce that as of 11/25, Spider-Man for the PS4 "has sold-through over 9 million copies." The Spider-Man success is no doubt coincided to the massive increase in sales of PS4's over the Christmas and Holiday period. At the start of December, PS4 sales were floating around the 88 million region, as of December 31 Sony's console now sits around 91.6 million. During the periods of November 19 to December 31st, Sony sold a staggering 5.6 million units.

In gratitude of these new milestones for the lifespan on the PlayStation 4, Sony Interactive Entertainment President John Kodera said "I would like to express my deepest gratitude to our passionate community around the globe, and our partners, for helping us achieve these milestones" To reward users for being a PS4 owner, Kodera discusses Sony's motivations for 2019 "This year, we will bring more enhanced experiences to our fans along with a highly anticipated lineup of games that are only possible on PS4. As we look toward the next PS4 milestone, SIE will continue to evolve, and we will further expand the platform to deliver the best interactive entertainment experiences to the world."

Marvel Studios has released a new trailer for the next addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, below you will find Captain Marvel's "Special Look" trailer.

Captain Marvel is starring female actress Brie Larson, and is planned to arrive in theaters across the globe on March 8th. The above trailer that has been released onto the Marvel Entertainment YouTube Channel showcases to us some scenes we have seen before from the first trailer that was released, and also some new never before seen scenes.

The other actors that will be present through Captain Marvel are the following; Samuel L. Jackson, Gemma Chan, Jude Law, Lee Pace, Ben Mendelsohn, Annette Bening and Djimon Hounsou. It should also be noted that Captain Marvel will be appearing in the coming Avengers: Endgame movie and will be playing a large role in the fight against Thanos.

CES 2019 - BioWare have released not only the minimum and recommended PC requirements for Anthem, but also have showcased the Storm Javelin through a gameplay trailer.

The Storm Javelin gameplay video has been released through the IGN YouTube channel and gives us a breakdown into what to expect from the Storm class. Players that decide to jump into the Storm javelin should note that the class resembles somewhat of a wizard, mage or glass cannon. Glass cannon means that the class features high damaging abilities, but suffers from a lack defensive capabilities. Due to the ability of flight, Storm Javelin players should note that even if the height advantage sounds full proof, this will also mean there is a lack of cover. Making for quite an easy to take out target.

BioWare has also released the system requirements for both minimum and recommended which coincides with NVIDIA's DLSS support that was announced for Anthem yesterday, check that story out here. Spotify has decided that they will implement specific advertising to peoples 'Discover Weekly' playlists. This advertising is aimed for sponsors to display their advising to the correct audience.

One of the biggest music streaming giants is no doubt the behemoth Spotify, and one of the greatest aspects of Spotify is the option to be able to discover music curated for you generated by Spotify's algorithm. This algorithm is called 'Discovery Weekly' and Spotify have decided that they would like to market that. The first sponsor of Discover Weekly will be Microsoft and Global Media representative, Erin Bevington said "Our work in AI is a central part of that mission to unlock human ingenuity. Our partnership with a technology innovator like Spotify offered a way for us to effectively share that message within a personalized entertainment experience powered by AI."

It should be noted that paid Spotify members will not have to worry about this new coming advertising, as paid members don't receive ads on Spotify anyway. With there being 87 million paid Spotify members out of the 200 million users, there is still a substantial amount of people that will have to deal with this specifically targeted advertising. Especially considering that in a memo regarding this announcement, users who decide to enjoy their Discover Weekly playlist stream more than double the content those who don't.

Blizzard Entertainment are no strangers to providing in-depth lore towards each of their games, Overwatch falls under that umbrella and in a new short story we learn Soldier 76's sexual orientation.

Blizzard released a trailer about the recently released short story onto the their Twitter account, the post features a link to the short story which can be located here. The short story details a conversation between Soldier 76 (Jack) and Ana, throughout the conversation Ana asks Soldier 76 about the person he has his arm around in a picture. "Vincent... I haven't thought about him in years," Ana said. "Still keeping a candle lit for him?"

Soldier 76 glared towards Ana and then laughed "He got married. They're very happy. I'm happy for him." Ana being unconvinced of Soldier 76's authenticity remembered that Soldier 76 used to speak about Vincent often, "floating a dream that the war would end quickly, and maybe he'd have a chance to return to a normal life." Soldier 76 finalized his reasoning through a sigh, saying "Vincent deserved a happier life than the one I could give him. We both knew that I could never put anything above my duty. Everything I fought for was to protect people like him... That's the sacrifice I made."

CES 2019 - ASUS has just stepped into the gaming chair world with a new announcement at CES 2019 of its ROG Chariot and Chariot Core gaming chairs, with the premium Chariot rocking RGB lighting that adds an aesthetics touch to the ROG gaming chair.

The flagship ASUS ROG Chariot rocks Aura RGB lighting that is round in the backlit ROG logo behind the headrest, the lit infinity mirror effect looks super-slick like it's almost a portal into something. Maybe it's Planet ROG or something. There'll be a switch on the underside of the chair that lets you tweak the lighting colors and patterns. There is a 10,000mAh battery hidden by ASUS in a pocket under the seat that is good for 11 hours of RGB lighting.

The company is using memory foam in the headrest and lumbar pillow molds that will hug your body instead of pressing against it, with fully adjustable armrests that won't annoy you by getting caught under your desk or rubbing against your arms. They'll move up and down, forward and back, left and right, as well as rotate in and out. Height adjustment is simple with a four-level gas lift, with reclining also a given.

The finale episodes of Game of Thrones' season 8 are expected sometime in April this year, and as we move closer to the premier we have news from HBO's CEO regarding the episode length and quality.

Richard Plepler, the CEO of HBO told Variety that he has seen the final episodes for the eighth seasons and despite the CGI not being fully completed he was still left thinking "I'm watching a movie." He also said that both D.B. Weiss and David Benioff completely exceeded his expectations for the final two episodes in particular, here is what Plepler had to say "They've exceeded the bar. I've watched them twice without any CGI and I'm in awe. Everybody's in for an extraordinary treat of storytelling and of magical, magical production."

The final episodes for Game of Thrones is simply going to go down in TV history. These six episodes are what viewers have been waiting for, and when the final episodes are movie length and on the very brink of movie level quality the hype can be heard across the entire breathe of Westeros. HBO will be showcasing the final six episodes sometime throughout April of this year.

2019 has already kicked off to a fantastic start with Humble, the charity website that dishes out some of the best deals on games has now added Nintendo Switch and 3DS games to their library.

Those that have never used Humble before should note that all the games that are sold throughout the website come in the form of official digital game codes. These codes can then be activated within the platform that you have chosen to purchase your game on, examples include; Windows, Mac, Linux, Android and now Nintendo 3DS and Nintendo Switch.

The current line-up of Nintendo games on the Humble Store consist of some quite popular titles; Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Pokemon: Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee, The Legend of Zelda: Breathe of the Wild and Super Mario Odyssey. Unfortunately it seems that Humble haven't yet found a medium with Nintendo for discounts for these titles, as none of the ones I have listed above appear to feature any discounts in any form. It should also be noted that Humble is also selling Nintendo expansions as well, users can purchase the Nintendo Online membership which could suggest that we will see Super Smash Bros. Ultimate DLC characters listed here as well.

Team Ninja, the developer behind the coming Dead Or Alive 6 has announced that the title is now delayed until March 1st. This announcement comes just weeks out from its originally planned release date.

The announcement has been posted onto the official Dead Or Alive and Team Ninja Twitter account, as well as in press release format. KOEI TECMO's Producer and Director, Yohei Shimbori has given a statement to as why Dead Or Alive is being delayed, here is what he had to say "The title's development is already near complete; however, we would like to take more time to further polish its balance, gameplay, and expressivity. In return for your patience, we commit to bringing you the best DEAD OR ALIVE gaming experience."

In conclusion, Shimbori apologizes to his fan-base saying "I am truly sorry for the inconvenience caused by the release delay of DEAD OR ALIVE 6." The official release date for the title has been moved from the previously scheduled February 15th to the now solidified March 1st, 2019. Hopefully this doesn't mean that Dead Or Alive 6 is unstable mess when it releases, usually delays right before when a title is meant to launch could suggest that it is riddled with unfixed development problems. Lets be optimistic about the current state of Dead Of Alive 6, but also mindfully cautious.

Back at E3 last year, Betheda announced The Elder Scrolls VI through a quick teaser trailer, and with many fans hyped for the coming game some may be discouraged by the recent news regarding its soundtrack.

Jeremy Soule was the composer that created the soundtracks for Bethesda's Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim. With each of these soundtracks creating such an impactful experience on the game, many fans of The Elder Scrolls series and particularly wanted Soule to continue his work on the new coming game. Soule revealed on his Twitter that he was in-fact "not involved" within the creation process of Elder Scrolls VI's soundtrack. In response to this news, fans offered a crowd funding option to Soule if the reasoning he was cut from The Elder Scrolls VI was due to lack of funding.

In response to a tweet from a fan discussing possible crowd-funding, Soule says "While I've not said much about this out of courtesy to Bethesda, I would never turn my back on TES [The Elder Scrolls], and I believe that my involvement would hinge on a creative decision on their part and where they want to take the franchise. To confirm, I am currently not involved with TES VI." Soule further stated in response to a fan saying he is the only composer who can do the Elder Scrolls series "Thank you, but you'll find Inon Zur is scoring Blades and I'm confident in the work that he will do. Brad Derrick at TES Online has also done a fine job. Either of these composers could score TES VI. It may be time for new creativity for TES VI but I'm ready if Bethesda calls."

CES 2019 - NVIDIA had one hell of a surprise for gamers during its CES 2019 press conference, with NVIDIA CEO and founder Jen-Hsun Huang announving that it will soon support variable refresh rate (VRR) on FreeSync gaming monitors starting January 15.

This is absolutely shell-shocking for the industry, as NVIDIA has its own G-Sync modules and approved gaming monitors on the market and is now going open market through a small software update. The company will be expanding compatibility to more AMD FreeSync-based monitors as it will be testing hundreds of monitors to meet its stringent quality standards. Right now just 12 FreeSync monitors tested were good enough to slap G-Sync support behind it, out of a test involving over 400 monitors.

NVIDIA explained: "G-Sync Compatible tests will identify monitors that deliver a baseline VRR experience on GeForce RTX 20-series and GeForce GTX 10-series graphics cards, and activate their VRR features automatically".

CES 2019 - Intel has just announced a bunch of new 9th-generation CPUs at its CES 2019 press conference, with the new CPUs entering the Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, and Core i9 processors that don't have integrated graphics.

In October 2018 the company released three 9th-gen Core processors in the flagship Core i9-9900K, Core i7-9700K, and Core i5-9600K. Today, the company announced plans to extend this with another six processors, where integrated graphics seems to been ditched for the most part. The three fastest new additions to the product line up all don't feature iGPUs, with the new Core i9-9900KF, Core i7-9700KF, and Core i5-9600KF all shipping without integrated graphics.

We all know that Rockstar is working on its next-gen Grand Theft Auto 6 and plenty of other new unannounced games, but the developer is now actively listing jobs for new, unannounced games that the developers refers to as "next-generation" projects.

Rockstar India is looking for new staff with positions like a technical artist, senior environment artist, and others noticed by Gear Nuke, with these people tasked at creating "next-generation worlds for some exciting upcoming projects". One of the job listings is for a vehicle artist which makes sense for Rockstar as there are plenty of vehicles of all shapes and sizes to be found in Grand Theft Auto 6, which is a next-generation project.

Rockstar New York is looking for MoCap tool developers so that the team can build next-gen games "upon the next generation of MoCap tools and pipeline", with another position seeking a technical face developer that would "help research and develop new technology for future titles". Rockstar Toronto is also looking for new people that will help work on projects that use that next-gen tech.

CES 2019 - Lenovo has really ramped up all aspects of its Legion gaming brand with what feels like a super-powered new launch of gaming products that look more like Razer gaming laptops than they would when you consider Lenovo isn't known as a gaming brand. Introducing the new Lenovo Legion gaming laptops:

Lenovo is splitting its Legion gaming laptops into a higher-end Y740 model that arrives with both 17-inch and 15-inch display options, while the Y540 will be a lower-end Legion gaming laptop. The higher-end Legion Y740 is a little more special as it rolls out with a Corsair iCUE RGB keyboard and system lighting that can be configured with software, so not only does the new Lenovo Legion Y740 look great, it includes what should be a great gaming keyboard.

The new Lenovo Legion Y740 can be optioned in both a 15-inch 1080p 144Hz display or 17-inch 4K HDR panels both with NVIDIA G-Sync support, an Intel Core i5-8300H or Core i7-8750H processor, and the latest GeForce RTX graphics from NVIDIA. They can be configured with 8/16/32GB of DDR4, up to 512GB of PCIe-based SSD, 512GB SATA SSD, and a 2TB HDD while the higher-end 17-inch model will support Intel Optane storage.

CES 2019 - Lenovo announced its new Legion gaming brand at CES 2019 this week, with a new flagship 43.4-inch UltraWide monitor that rolls out with an interesting native resolution and super-fast 144Hz refresh rate.

The new Lenovo Legion Y44w rolls out with a 43.4-inch panel with a super-wide 32:10 aspect ratio which results in a native resolution of 3840 x 1200, which is a big deal in 2019. It feels like a decade ago because it was, that 1200p monitors were a thing. I remember my beloved HP LP3065 monitor, a 30.5-inch 2560 x 1600 panel which felt huge thanks to its 1600p versus 1440p vertical pixels at the time. This was thanks to the 16:10 aspect ratio versus the 16:9 mainstream ratio at the time.

Lenovo will have quite a few fans that will think twice now when buying a display thanks to the 32:10 aspect ratio, it won't feel so super-wide as it'll also be noticeably taller. The 3840 x 1200 resolution is joined by a fast 144Hz refresh rate, with support for AMD FreeSync 2 technology.

CES 2019 - MSI's new GeForce RTX 2080 Ti Lightning graphics card has been spotted in the wild at CES 2019 by our friends at Hardware Canucks, where we now know the RTX 2080 Ti Lightning will feature a slick new style.

With the upcoming GeForce RTX 2080 Ti Lightning graphics card MSI is using a large 3-fan cooler shroud that is covered in a gorgeous gold and black theme with carbon fiber. The overall design is close to the previous-gen MSI GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Lightning, but the new carbon fiber look and change to gold and black is very welcomed. I love the look of the card, it'll really pop in a gaming PC with the right components to match it with some RGB lights sparkling off of it. Mmm.

We should expect some great out-of-the-box results with factory overclocking by MSI on the GeForce RTX 2080 Ti Lightning and I'm sure there's more headroom than usual on an overclocked RTX 2080 Ti. It's a card built for overclocking so we should see it tweaked a heap and then the cooler ripped off for some LN2 cooling, but those pesky limitations by NVIDIA will always hold cards like this off without massive modifications done. Still, in stock form this is going to be a BEAST.

CES 2019 - Samsung has just come out and announced one of my dream TVs: the new 98-inch Q900 QLED TV with a native 8K resolution with Quantum Dot screen technology and AI upscaling.

The new Samsung 98-inch Q900 QLED will rock an 8K-capable Quantum Dot display that will make good use of Direct Array Mobile Dimming that will take care of the contrast of the screen, making sure picture quality looks good at all times. There aren't many sources of 8K video outside of a few videos on YouTube and 8K gaming if you've got 2 x NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti graphics cards in NVLink.

If you aren't watching native 8K content that's okay because Samsung has 8K AI Upscaling technology inside of the new Q900 QLED series of TVs, where native 4K content upscaled to 8K should look good but I'm not too sure on 1080p content being upscaled to 16x its native resolution.

CES 2019 - LG has just unveiled the world's first rollable OLED TV with its new Signature Series OLED TV R, which arrives in a slick-looking brushed aluminum case, where a 65-inch rollable 4K OLED TV will slowly roll out, and then back into its case when you're finished with it.

This isn't a TV that you're going to rush out and buy, but if you've got enough money or want the high-end boutique styling of this display (as there is none, it's all in a box) then it has a market. I can see this TV costing tens of thousands of dollars, and being put at the end of the bed of rich peoples houses so they can watch some Netflix in bed before they go to sleep. Hell, if I had tens of millions in my bank I would have one of these TVs on day one just cos.

LG's new OLED TV R's base also rocks a hefty 100W Dolby Atmos speaker rig, and are reportedly about as good as a good soundbar. LG has something cool that you can do with the TV if you didn't want it rolled all the way out, with just the tip of the top of the TV popped out of its base acting as something LG calls "line mode". Line mode provides just enough of the OLED display for controlling music, flicking through pictures, or displaying the time.

CES 2019 - ASUS has had some huge reveals at CES 2019 so far but one of the most radical changes to their gaming line up would have to be the new, and very awesomely named ROG Mothership. The new ROG Mothership is a Microsoft Surface Pro style gaming laptop with some ridiculous specs.

The new ASUS ROG Mothership arrives as a huge 17.3-inch tablet with a Surface-style hinge at the back, with a native 1920x1080 panel at 144Hz, with 3ms response and NVIDIA's G-Sync technology. Inside, there is the Intel Core i9-9850HK processor and NVIDIA's new GeForce RTX 2080 graphics both of which are overclocked and ready to game at 1080p 144FPS with G-Sync.

There's up to 64GB of DDR4 RAM inside, with 3 x NVMe SSDs in RAID0 for some ultimate speed, Thunderbolt 3 USB-C port, normal USB-C port, 4 x USB Type-A ports, HDMI, Ethernet, and an SD card slot. This is joined by truly insane dual 280W charging ports, since this laptop is pretty much an on-the-go-kinda-I-guess desktop gaming PC specs. ASUS has also included Windows Hello facial recognition support for its built-in webcam, making it easier than ever to get to your desktop and start gaming.

Alien games aren't going anywhere, and FOX is planning some big moves with the next xenomorph-slaying experience.

Today FOX disappointed gamers by announcing Alien: Blackout, a new standalone mobile game starring Amanda Ripley from Alien: Isolation. But this is just one piece of the new Amanda Ripley expanded universe, and I predicted that Blackout is just a small interactive slice that will bridge Isolation to the next big Alien game. While that's yet to be confirmed, some of my predictions are true: the next Alien game will be an online-based multiplayer shooter.

We've known about FoxNext's new Alien FPS for a while now. But we didn't know exactly what kind of scope it'd take--would it be singleplayer-driven with a campaign, or molded into a live service shooter? In a previous article I outlined a possible roadmap for the new Alien games. The new FPS could be like the 1986 action film Aliens (just as Isolation was akin to the 1979 classic Alien) with tons of alien-slaying action, engagement elements, and co-op PVE chaos.
