Most people even outside of the technology industry have wondered what the next 'mobile phone' would be. Some analysts are banking on the next 'mobile phone' being some form of eye-wear that would incorporate augmented reality. Facebook and the Ray-Ban's owner might just be building that.

CNBC has said that Facebook has now partnered up with Luxottica, the owner of Ray-Ban, Oakley and other big companies in the eye-wear industry. The contacts close to the deal have said that these companies are planning on building the 'next mobile phone' in the form of augmented reality glasses that would allow for users to make calls, see information, livestream what you are seeing, while also features apps and more.

This new product has been titled Orion and according to sources close to this deal the new pair of shades wouldn't be reaching the market until 2023 - 2025. While that might seem like some time away from us, Mark Zuckerberg has reportedly said that he considers this project to be a 'priority' over at Facebook.

The truth is out there -- and now the Pentagon and US Navy are admitting the existence of UFOs, or as they're now calling them -- unidentified aerial phenomenon.

Two days before the launch of Nintendo's The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening Remake the story trailer has dropped for the title.

The quick little trailer has been released onto the Nintendo UK YouTube Channel and showcases the different stages of the games story mode. The trailer cycles through these glimpses of story to some softly voiced music which seems to fit the game absolutely perfectly.

Locating your games in your Steam library can sometimes be a bit of pain, especially if you have thousands of games you need to cycle through.

Valve has announced on their website that Steam Library will be getting a "makeover" to make it look "better looking, more relevant, and more powerful than ever before." This makeover will have an beta that Steam users can join and that everyone is invited to. What will the beta feature?

The home section of the library will show updates for the games you have in your library as well as the most recent games you have played. It will also show some activity from your Steam friends and what games they are currently playing. The word explosion is not what you want to hear when you read news about the smallpox virus, but an explosion has rocked Russia's State Research Center of Virology and Biotechnology on Monday.

The facility is only one of two places on the planet that actually houses live smallpox samples on-hand, so an explosion has officials concerned. Russian news agency TASS reports that the explosion and post-explosion fire were caused during "routine maintenance" of the facility.

No hazardous pathogens were released, if you trust Russia that is, while one worker at the facility was injured in the explosion and is at a local hospital getting treated for burns.

Samsung released its yearly Galaxy S and Galaxy Note successors this year, with a family of devices in the Galaxy S10 range as well as a family of handsets in the new Galaxy Note 10 range.

But according to the latest rumors the company could merge the Galaxy S and Galaxy Note lines in 2020, while separating its newer Galaxy Fold -- which will grow into its own family next year following the just-released fixed version of the Galaxy Fold smartphone.

If you're based in the US and think you're good at Mario Kart 8 Deluxe then you're going to want to jump into the online tournament that Nintendo just announced.

Nintendo has announced that a new Mario Kart 8 Deluxe tournament will kick off on its Switch Online platform between 1PM and 11PM ET (10AM to 8PM PT) on September 22, with the top 8 racers taking home 2500 Gold Points -- which is worth $25. To enter, you'll need to select Tournaments from the Online Play option in the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe game menu, then search for this tournament code: 2093-5045-4827.

The tournament will consist of 24 races in the 150cc level, with all vehicles on offer and all normal items available -- but, smart steering is disabled. Nintendo will mix it up every 4 matches with a new selection of challengers.

Tinder... yes, Tinder is reportedly making its own TV show with steaks of Black Mirror: Bandersnatch in the way that it is a choose-your-own-adventure-style original series.

The new show is reportedly done in-house by Tinder and will be uploaded to the Tinder app, with the series set with an "impending apocalypse". Tinder is asking "Who would you spend your last night alive with" in the show, where viewers will use the app to do the usual swipe left or right on Tinder, to progress through the show.

Tinder's new show will be a 6-episode event that was shot in Mexico City, directed by Karena Evans who has directed multiple videos for Drake. The company might not keep its show as a Tinder exclusive forever, with Variety reporting in its scoop that it could be pushed out to traditional streaming and broadcast platforms according to "another source".

Blue's new Yeti X has one new superpower: its new real-time LED metering on the microphone itself, which will show you when your gain is too low during a livestream or recording. The huge knob on the front of the Yeti X is the new command center, where you'll be able to tweak it between its three internal modes.

You'll be able to hold the knob (sounds weird, but you know what I mean -- get your head out of the gutter) for two seconds to flex between modes, while the other controls the volume. You can also use blend mode, which will balance between gameplay audio and your commentary, both requiring different voice pitches and levels.

Laura Nolan, an ex-Google staffer that resigned in 2018 over protesting having to work on a project that would see big changes to the US drone program -- has said that AI robots that aren't operated by humans, should be banned. Nolan said that robots that aren't human-controlled should be outlawed, in the same way chemical weapons are kept under control over an international treaty.

Nolan was hired by Google back in 2017 to work on Project Maven, which saw Google working with the US Department of Defense on the AI project. Over 3000 Google employees ended up signing a petition against the involvement between the search giant and the US DOD that would see improvements to drone strikes killing more people abroad.

Sony now commands Insomniac's full IP library, including Sunset Overdrive. But Microsoft might still own the publishing rights.

Now that Sony wholly owns Insomniac Games, the company has access to the games-maker's fleet of IPs. Sony's Shuhei Yoshida underlined the news, giving hope to Sunset Overdrive fans who've been clamoring for a sequel. "SIE holds the rights to past Insomniac works. Do gamers want to see Sunset Ovedrive on PlayStation?" Yoshida said in an interview with Inside Games.

But there's one potential fly in the ointment. Sony might own the IPs themselves now that Insomniac is a first-party studio, but they might not have the other missing half of the puzzle: publishing rights. Sunset Overdrive was a Microsoft-published game on Xbox One, meaning Microsoft owned the publishing rights. We're not sure if the rights have reverted back to Insomniac yet. If they have, a sequel could happen, and we could see the first game drop on PS4. If not, then Microsoft will sit on the rights until they expire.

Modern Warfare's cross-play will have some limitations and won't let console players square off against PC players in ranked matches.

Cross-play is coming to Call of Duty for the first time, and it's a huge deal for everyone involved. Microsoft, Sony, and Activision stand to make a killing from monetization, engagement, subscriptions, and raw game sales. In a recent blog post, Infinity Ward says cross-play unification on PS4, Xbox One and PC is opt-in, and gamers can choose whether to play against gamepad or keyboard and mouse players. But there's some multiplayer match types like ranked play that won't be supported.

"Crossplay supports all multiplayer modes in Modern Warfare. There are no plans currently to support Ranked Play or competitive tournaments," Infinity Ward wrote in a recent blog post.

Most of Modern Warfare's massive arsenal of free DLC and content updates will roll out on PS4, Xbox One and PC at the same time.

Activision says Modern Warfare will have the most post-release content out of any Call of Duty game ever made. Luckily that content won't be significantly divided up or released early on specific systems, and will instead launch simultaneously on every platform. Well most of it at least; Activision's deal with Sony still stands, so PS4 should get first dibs on some stuff.

In a recent Activision blog post, Infinity Ward confirms that DLC rollout cadences aim to match the cross-play initiative of full accessibility irregardless of platform. But every platform won't get everything at the same time.

The Epic Games Store's cloud save system is overwriting Borderlands 3 game saves, causing players lots of grief. Now Epic has identified the culprit and rolled out a hotfix.

Borderlands 3 players are having hours and hours of their progress reset thanks to a cloud save bug. The issue arises when you switch platforms and play Borderlands 3 without cloud saves on, and then switch to another PC where cloud saves are turned on. It's a simple case of overwriting, and you can actually reclaim your progress by renaming a few files.

Epic says they've rolled out a fix to address the issue and make sure the pop up notification comes up every time, and both 2K and Gearbox are working with the storefront to get things ironed out. Still though it's an absolutely massive oversight for a game that's based around hours upon hours of grinding, leveling up, and collecting loot. There's no faster way to alienate your audience than by messing with their saves.

Rockstar Games now has a games launcher that'll gate off its titles on PC, and you'll get a free copy of San Andreas if you download it now.

Today the GTA-maker rolled out the Rockstar Games Launcher as a means to tightly unify and control its games on PC. The launcher comes with GTA: San Andreas 100% free, and requires Social Club in order to access and play specific games. All digital rights are tied to this account. The launcher clocks in at roughly 1GB and includes built-in cloud saves.

Interestingly enough, you'll now access newer games right from the launcher. Games like GTA V and Max Payne 3 can't be launched from Steam and can instead only run from the Rockstar Games Launcher.

Following a closed alpha test earlier this year, a full-on Nioh 2 open beta will be available to all PS4 gamers this November.

With Nioh 2's upcoming beta, Team Ninja is honing their fiery demonic blade to ensure it's ready for an early 2020 release. Sony announced a Nioh 2 open beta will go live from November 1-10 on PS4 and should include similar content as the alpha. We should also see Nioh's awesome frame rate performance mode return too.

The streaming wars have well and truly begun, with WarnerMedia securing streaming rights for The Big Bang Theory on HBO Max for $1 billion and Netflix getting exclusive rights to Seinfeld in a deal worth over $500 million.

Now... it's NBC Universal's turn with a new deal seeing Mr. Robot creator Sam Esmail rebooting Battlestar Galactica (for the second time). It will be an exclusive show to Peacock, NBC Universal's new streaming service.

NBC didn't spill any details on the Battlestar Galactica reboot, but anyone who has seem Esmail's work on Mr. Robot knows that this is definitely an interesting move. I didn't expect anything like this, and I'm kind of intrigued as to what Esmail can do differently in a space setting versus the world of Mr. Robot.

J.J Abrams was presented with a half-a-billion dollar signing offer from Apple and declined it, essentially walking away from one of the largest production signing deals.

If you happened to miss the news last week, famous director J.J Abrams signed a huge deal with his production company Bad Robot Productions and WarnerMedia, the deal was reported to be worth about $250 million. The Hollywood Reporter is now saying that before this deal was signed Apple offered Abrams a staggering half-a-billion dollars to sign with them, but Abrams declines and here's why.

THR Claims that it was included in Apples contract that Abrams would be required to develop content exclusively for Apple and only Apple. Meaning that Abrams would have to drop all current work on projects that weren't Apple related. For those who don't know Abrams is currently partnered with Disney on the upcoming Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker as the director. He is also partnered with Paramount for something new in the Star Trek series, and in video games he is working with Epic Games on brand new game titled Spyjinx.

WarnerMedia has just signed a gigantic $1 billion deal to grab exclusive rights to one of the biggest TV shows ever; The Big Bang Theory. It will be an exclusive on HBO Max for five years.

Another big part of this deal are the syndication rights on traditional cable TV, especially for a show the size and popularity of The Big Bang Theory. The $1 billion deal will see the syndication deal extended with TBS and have the show air on the WarnerMedia-owned basic cable network all the way through to 2028.

All 12 seasons of The Big Bang Theory will be available to stream on HBO Max when its direct-to-consumer service launches in 2020. The Big Bang Theory is one of the biggest bangs in TV history (I had to) where after its 12-season run it became the longest-running multi-camera comedy series ever (beating Cheers!), and laid claim to the #1 scripted half-hour in the most-important 18-49 demographic.
