Black Friday smart TVs are a hackers portal to your home, FBI warns
The Black Friday sales just finished and just like every year a lot of people decided to pick up a new TV while they were heavily discounted. Now, the FBI has warned the public that the smart TV they just bought could possibly be hacked.
Since Black Friday has just finished, many participants in the sales would have grabbed a new snazzy TV for their family living room. While that is certainly a most-welcomed upgrade, it does come with a considerable potential downside. Since recently purchased TVs are smart TVs, they are designed to be connected to the internet for a means of accessing streaming platforms such as Netflix, Amazon Prime etc. Since they connected to the internet, that means they can be hacked.
A lot of the smart TVs being sold also have microphone and camera support, so if a hacker were somehow able to access your TV, they would be able to activate the TV's microphone and camera to listen in and watch you. FBI's Portland field office has warned of this very thing, saying that "Beyond the risk that your TV manufacturer and app developers may be listening and watching you, that television can also be a gateway for hackers to come into your home."

$7.4 billion in internet Black Friday sales, nearly 40% was on mobile
Black Friday has just rolled around, and while some specific sales might be over, a lot of people used Friday to purchase many amounts of goodies for not only themselves but others. So, how much money was spent in total?
According to Adobe shopping data, 39% of Black Friday purchases were made using smartphones, which is a huge increase when compared to last years, 33%. Adobe says that about $2.9 billion dollars were spent from people's phones, which is an $800 million dollar increase from last year's $2.1 billion.
Looking to Black Friday as a whole now, Adobe says that about $7.4 billion was spent on internet-based sales, which is $1.2 billion more than last year's $6.2 billion. The average spending order also increased; with people being a little bit more lenient on their wallets, the average 'spending' per person was around $168. If you happened to miss the Black Friday sales, don't worry, Cyber Monday is about to be here, and we already have some sales for you to check out, more on that here.

Dubai Police Force claims to get Tesla's Cybertruck a whole year early
If you do a quick Google search of what cars the Dubai police force has available to them, you will find a selection of supercars. While the practicality of these cars might not necessarily be there for every car, Tesla's Cybertruck might actually fit the bill.
According to the official Twitter account of the Dubai Police, Tesla's recently announced Cybertruck is going to be joining their fleet of vehicles. The Cybertruck will be parked alongside Dubai's supercar line, which contains the Aston Martin One-77, Audi R8, Bentley Continental GT, Bentley Bentayga, Bugatti Veyron and more. In the past, residents and outsiders have criticized Dubai's police force for their choice of vehicles, saying that they are more for show rather than practicality.
While that might be the case for the already present supercar line, Tesla's Cybertruck could actually be very practical. The Cybertruck has an extremely thick steel shell, combining that armor with its speed it could make for a great pursuit vehicle that would almost feel like Batman's Batmobile tumbler. The Dubai Police force say that the Cybertruck will be coming in 2020, I find that hard to believe since the Cybertruck isn't going to begin production until late 2021. Unless they are getting an early order?

Age of Empires IV is doing something no other game has done before
Real-time strategy games aren't nearly as popular as what they used to be, so what will Age of Empires IV have that will pull in new gamers and keep them there?
During an interview with Adam Isgreen, the creative director of the Age of Empires franchise, the question was brought up about how Age 4 will attract new players and keep them there. Isgreen says, that a lot of what Relic is doing is concentrating around the campaigns, and what they are specifically working on has "never been done in an Age game before".
Isgreen also continues on and says that due to having more compute power available for development, they are able to implement what has been called as a "analytic-based tutorialising, and all kinds of things where we can see how players are playing and be like, 'Hey! Did you know you can do this? Or hey, this cool thing that you're not doing?'. Isgreen hopes that these new systems will bring new players in, and keep them there. AMD dominates Intel with 82% market share with major German retailer
AMD has reached an all-time record high CPU market share with Germany's largest retailer, Mindfactory.de which has seen 82% of all CPUs sold in November being AMD Ryzen CPUs.
Even in October AMD saw a huge 78% CPU market share with Mindfactory.de sales, but November was an even better month with 82% -- most of the success is thanks to AMD's new Ryzen 7 3700X and Ryzen 5 3600X processors which offer unbeatable value for money.
Intel's most popular CPU at Mindfactory.de is the Core i7-9700K, with the new Core i9-9900K and even newer Core i9-9900KF not really even making a scratch into AMD's total and utter dominance. Once again, the Ryzen 7 3700X is a massively popular CPU that you can see by the super-strong red bars that dominate that chart.

Intel CPU shortages hurting Dell, which has just cut revenue forecast
Intel has been having some seriously troubling times lately, and it seems these issues are now extending through to Intel's partners including one of their biggest -- Dell.
Dell has lowered its 2019 revenue forecast over issues with Intel's CPU shortages, seeing Dell stock drop by 5%. Dell COO Jeffrey Clarke explained: "Intel CPU shortages have worsened quarter-over-quarter the shortages are now impacting our commercial PC and premium consumer PC Q4 forecasted shipments".
Even in the middle of massive Intel CPU shortages, Dell managed to see its PC business revenue increase in Q3 by 5% year-over-year to $11.4 billion. Commercial PC sales increased 9% to $8.3 billion, while shipments of consumer computers hit $3.1 billion -- an increase of 6%.

Stadia's controllers go wireless on PC and phones 2020
Right now Google Stadia controllers are only wireless when paired with a Chromecast, but that'll change in 2020.
In a rather strange move, Stadia, a platform built around accessibility and convenience, launched without one of the most convenient features on its own proprietary controller: Wireless gaming. To use the Stadia controller with a Pixel 3 phone you have to hook it up via USB, and likewise for PC gaming on a Chrome browser. The Stadia controller actually has built-in Bluetooth radios, but they don't actually connect to other devices--yet at least. Instead, the controller bypasses other devices and connects right to Stadia servers via the internet.
That'll change in 2020. Google confirms that the controller will soon support wireless Bluetooth pairing with PCs, tablets, and phones next year: "Stadia Controller wireless support for laptops, desktops, and select tablets and phones is coming in 2020."

Cyber Weekend deals slash Elgato streaming product prices at Amazon
Are you thinking about jumping into the streaming game and want to grab some quality components? Elgato has your back, and they might also have your wallet because their Black Friday / Cyber Monday sales at Amazon are quite convincing.
Elgato is known for its high-quality stream equipment, and they deliver on that front really strongly. But with every good thing that is high-quality, there's a proportionate price tag to come along with it. Since Black Friday is here and Cyber Monday is near, that price tag has been reduced to an eyebrow-raising amount.
Elgato has basically discounted their entire range of products from their game capture card to their green screens, stream deck variants, cam link, lights, and thunderbolt docks. I have provided a full list of each of the products as well as the discounted price versus the old price.

Jedi: Fallen Order was built on compromise
All games are built on compromise. Coders, designers, and programmers constantly make new systems and bring them to game directors, who then whittle things down to what's important. If it makes it into the game, it's often a result of direct compromising. Jedi: Fallen Order had an extra layer of compromise because of Lucasfilm.
Lucasfilm are the gatekeepers to the Star Wars brand. When anyone makes anything based around Star Wars, whether it be a game or a TV show, Lucasfilm has to approve and give the greenlight. Nothing gets made without Lucasfilm's approval. This has always complicated Star Wars game development, as far back as the troubled fiascoes with Star Wars 1313, which saw George Lucas coming in and frequently ordering big changes, to Visceral's now-cancelled Project Ragtag, and of course Respawn's mega-popular Jedi: Fallen Order.
While watching the big Jedi: Fallen Order dev documentary, I noticed one big trend: compromise. The devs had to constantly look for approval from Stig Asmussen, the game director on Jedi: Fallen Order, but the decisions also had to sift through Lucasfilm. Compromise is needed for iteration, aka the life's blood of video games development. Tons of repetitive Iteration is how developers constantly build off of one another to make a finished product. Games are the result of thousands of hours of experimentation to see what works and what doesn't.

Project Scarlett devkits aren't widely available yet
Sony's PlayStation 5 devkits have been spotted multiple times now, complete with a crazy-looking ventilation system and a front LCD panel. But what about the next-gen Xbox? According to The Verge's Tom Warren, Project Scarlett devkits are few and far between.
Apparently Project Scarlett devkits are somewhat rare, at least according to The Verge's Tom Warren. It looks like Microsoft is very sparingly doling out what devkits that are available to first-party developers, likely to teams like Turn10 who was tremendously instrumental in shaping and fine-tuning the Xbox One X. The first phase of Project Scarlett devkit rollouts hasn't really happened yet, hinting Microsoft is still working on the hardware--which bodes well considering Project Scarlett's massive backward compatibility capabilities.
"Hardly anyone has [Project Scarlett devkits], and they're nowhere near final. That's why you're hearing a lot of nonsense about them not being powerful etc. Microsoft wants to surprise Sony this time," Warren said on Twitter.

Leaked PlayStation 5 devkit photos show new DualShock controller
The latest leaked PS5 devkit photos show the consoles turned on and operating, complete with an LCD panel with real-time hardware usage and a DualShock 5 controller to the side.
A bit ago we spotted the first PlayStation 5 devkit photos, but the system wasn't actually powered up. The PS5 devkit has that distinctly expansive ventilation system for heat management and easy stackability, hinting there's some serious horsepower under there, and a screen similar to Project Scorpio's devkit that gives out key info in real-time, including RAM and CPU usage, but the exact values are fuzzy.
There's also a small look at the upcoming PS5 controller, at least the prototype of one. We can't get a good look at the controller but it seems to match the new ergonomic design outlined in the DualShock 5 controller patents. There's apparently no lightbar.

Scientists confused: black hole so big it 'shouldn't even exist' found
Astronomers have stumbled across a black hole that is so damn large that they are perplexed at how it even exists.
Just this past Thursday, astronomers managed to find a black hole that is so big that it challenges our current models of black holes. The black hole called LB-1 is 15,000 light-years from Earth and measures in at a mass of 70 times greater than the Sun. Astronomers have said that this black hole is twice as massive as anything scientists thought to be possible.
According to Liu Jifeng, a National Astronomical Observatory of China professor who led the research, "Black holes of such mass should not even exist in our galaxy, according to most of the current models of stellar evolution". Generally, scientists and astronomers believe there are two types of black holes. First, of which are stellar black holes, these are more common, up to 20 times more massive than the Sun and form when a star collapses in on itself.

Computation at the speed of light achieved, new device bridges big gap
Scientists have managed to create the first-ever device that can program either photons or electrons with information.
Harish Bhaskaran's Advanced Nanoscale Engineering research group at the University of Oxford, partnered with other research universities, has conceived the first-of-a-kind electro-optical device. This device paves the way forward for achieving faster and more energy-efficient memories and processors. For some time, humans have been toying with the idea of being able to transfer information at the speed of light, now that idea is within reach.
This device uses light to encode as well as transfer information, which means that the speed of which the information is traveling is that of -- light. So how did the researchers do this? Originally there was a compatibility issue between photons and electrons being used for data storage. So, the researchers reduced the size of the light down into nanoscopic dimensions and combined that with an increase in energy density. For a more detailed explanation, visit this link here.
