AMD took to its blog last month in a new article titled "Game Beyond 4GB" where it took a look at its new Navi-based Radeon RX 5500 XT graphics card in both 4GB and 8GB variants.

The company tested the two Radeon RX 5500 XT cards against each other, showing that the 8GB version had around 20% more performance in major games. AMD tested Borderland 3, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, Forza Horizon 4, Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Breakpoint, and Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus.

AMD even ran DOOM Eternal on the Radeon RX 5500 XT 4GB and 8GB cards, with the Ultra Nightmare graphics setting seeing the Radeon RX 5500 XT with 8GB of VRAM running at 75FPS at 1080p. The 4GB version? Couldn't even enable the graphics settings. Sure, you could disable a couple of settings and it would run anyway, but AMD is trying to make the point here is that 8GB is the future.

Alright, this is a very hot rumor -- of a next-gen NVIDIA graphics card we haven't heard about yet: the GeForce RTX 3090. Not the RTX 3080 or RTX 3080 Ti -- but the RTX 3090.

According to sources of YouTuber 'Moore's Law is Dead', the new GeForce RTX 3090 is coming along nicely. He has some comments on the leaked photos of the purported GeForce RTX 3080 graphics card, saying that "the leaked fan shroud looks legitimate. NOT confirmed, but it looks real".

The early June update on Ampere notes that NVIDIA has reportedly dropped USB-C from its engineering samples, so we could see the quick death of VirtualLink. As for Ampere GPU clock speeds, the new leak teases that GPU clock speeds have "increased since a month ago" with the previous leaks -- now we're looking at up to 2.5GHz.

We have been treated to some "leaked photos" of NVIDIA's next-gen GeForce RTX 3080 over the weekend, but now we have some gorgeous 3D renders to drool over thanks 'JDSP_' and 'tor6770' on Reddit.

The images are much clearer than the original leaked ones, but are wholly inspired by said leaked photos of the GeForce RTX 3080 graphics card. The cooling system NVIDIA is using on these cards, if real, would be pretty damn crazy. It's the chunkiest heat sink I've ever seen on (what could be) the new GeForce RTX 3080 Founders Edition.

The more I look at it, the more I kinda dig the design -- just because it's so different. NVIDIA is using a shorter PCB and a very, very unique design with its fans in a dual-fan design. One on the front of the card, and one on the back. It's the craziest design NVIDIA has used so far, if it turns out to be real.

LG unveiled its new 38WN95C-W monitor earlier this year at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2020, but now it is releasing it in particular markets. Check it out:

The new LG 38WN95C-W is a curved UltraWide gaming monitor with a native resolution of 3840 x 1600, and a refresh rate of up to 144Hz. If you disable Variable Refresh Rate (or VRR) then you can crank the refresh from 144Hz up to an even smoother 170Hz.

LG is using a slick Nano IPS display on its new 38WN95C-W, with a 1ms response time so gamers will find a super-snappy home for their all-night gaming sessions. There's 95% coverage of the P3 color space, 98% of the DCI-P3 color space, VESA DisplayHDR 600, and more.

Halo: Infinite isn't finished yet, but that hasn't stopped 343i from planning the next project.

343 Industries is hiring a senior producer for an unannounced Halo game within its engineering branch, specifically for Microsoft's Core Services team. "343 Industries is looking for a Senior Producer to work with our Core Services team to help develop a new project in the Halo universe," reads the job listing.

This is pretty much par for the course in the games industry. Developers always plan out future projects while specific games are still in development. At the same time though, Halo: Infinite is the biggest project 343i has done to date, and is being built from the ground up with a new Slipspace Engine. It's interesting to see the studio start hiring higher-profile developers for the next game.

The United States is still rife with protests, clashing, and civil unrest, so major publishers like EA have delayed their biggest gaming events to not detract from current events.

Like Sony and practically the rest of the games industry, EA has delayed their upcoming game reveal event to make way for protesters. EA has pushed back its EA Play 2020 event to June 18 at 7PM EST, and it's something you should definitely bookmark. This show could be EA's biggest yet.

"With the important conversations taking place and important voices being heard around the world right now, we're moving our time to come together in play," the company said on Twitter.

A new trademark filing adds even more evidence of a next-gen Gran Turismo launching alongside the PS5 in 2020.

Sony and Polyphony Digital just filed new trademarks for Gran Turismo on Argentina's National Institute of Industrial Property database, strongly hinting at a PlayStation 5 release. The filings were made on June 3, just a day before the originally-planned PS5 games reveal event. There were also filings for a Gran Turismo logo.

This development isn't the first time we've heard about a next-gen Gran Turismo. Back in 2018, Sony showcased Gran Turismo running on its new 8K CLEDIS display technology, which the PlayStation 5 will of course support. Polyphony Digital also said GT Sport's assets went beyond just 1080p and 4K. Some were made specifically in 8K and should translate directly over to the PS5 GT release.

China recently announced that they are going to begin construction of their own space station next year, and to go with that new space station is a brand new telescope.

According to UniverseToday, this new telescope is very much like the Hubble Space Telescope, and will feature the same size mirror as the famous Hubble. What will be different with China's new telescope dubbed "Xuntian" is the field of view, as it will be far wider than Hubble's which will allow for observers to get a much better viewing angle of objects.

The new telescope will work in unison with the new space station, as both will share the same orbit and be positioned at the same altitude of 340-450 kilometers. The reasoning behind this is that if the telescope ever needs any maintenance it can dock with the new space station and repairs or upgrades can be simply made. China plans on executing these plans in 2021 and 2022, with the hopes of everything being up and running in 2023.

China's space agency has an extremely ambitious mission ahead of them, as they are about to embark on building their very own space station.

The Chinese space agency will be constructing their own space station that weighs in at 66-tons. China will also be getting the construction up and running quite quickly, as the Chinese space agency plans on doing 11 launches in just two years. When the new space station is complete, it will be able to house crews of three astronauts for up to 6 months at a time.

So what does the new space station entail? Well, when it opens for business in 2023, it will have three fully operational modules. These modules are the following: main living space, and two areas dedicated to experiments. As for experiments, astronauts will be testing biology in zero gravity, and other brand new space technologies that warrant attention. The first module of the new space station will launch in the first quarter of 2022, aboard the Long March 5B rocket.

Itch.io's new Bundle for Racial Equality packs in over 740 games and assets to help raise money for NAACP and bail funds to aid arrested protesters.

The latest Itch.io bundle gives you access to a metric ton of content for $5. The bundle offers $3400 worth of games, tilesets, and assets, many of which are tiny bite-sized amateur works. Labeling all of these things as traditional games is a tad misleading, though, and there's a lot of tabletop RPGs, comics, tools, game assets, and books. A good portion of the games that are included are actually free to begin with.

That being said, the bundle does include some awesome projects like Night in the Woods, Overland, Heavy Bullets, Oxenfree, Minit, Shipwreck, and Myth Bearer to name a few. If you have a passing interest in any of the games on the huge list then be sure to pick it up. All money raised from the bundle is split between the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund and Community Bail Fund.

Yager's older 2015 build of Dead Island 2 has somehow leaked on the internet, and now we have tons of gameplay footage on what the game was like all those years ago.

After years of development hell, we now have a our first look at Dead Island 2. The catch is the footage isn't for the actual game that'll release in 2021, but Yager Interactive's older playtest build from June 2015. Dead Island 2 has had 3 separate developers--Yager in 2015, Sumo Digital in 2017, and now Dambuster Studios in 2019--so the final build will probably be pretty different than what we see here.

Still though there's some innovations that should carry forward. The footage shows some neat additions like dual-wielding, which lets players hold both a pistol or SMG as well as a 1-handed weapon, and cryo weapons that freeze zombies. There's also a look at the skill tree system, the four character classes (runner, berserker, hunter, and bishop), and weapon crafting and customization.

In what feels like not-so-surprising news, Accountable.US -- an anti-corruption watchdog, is putting pressure on the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) to investigate COVID-19 vaccine manufacturer Moderna.

Why? Oh, because the watchdog group thinks the company cashed in around $90 million worth of shares days after it shared vague "positive" data on its early COVID-19 vaccination clinical trial. The watchdog said that the timing of the trades are "suspicious" and has questions whether Moderna executives coordinated their stock sales before the release of data.

Accountable.US President Kyle Herrig wrote a letter to the SEC which reads: "This misconduct was particularly egregious because it involved not only financial fraud and manipulation of the financial markets, but also because it exploited widespread fears surrounding the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic".

The Last of Us Part 2 has been in the headlines for all the wrong reasons lately, and here's another one: the game makes the PlayStation 4 Pro run so hot that gamers are having to increase the volume on their speakers or headset.

Yeah, it's that bad -- with Washington Post game report Gene Park tweeting that the fans on his PS4 Pro were "louder than my air-conditioning unit. They were so loud I had to raise the volume up on my speakers". As a PC gamer, this has never happened to me -- at least not in many, many years. Maybe back with NVIDIA's Fermi GPU release.

But it's not all bad as Park says that his PS4 Pro makes a noise very similar to what The Last of Us Part 2 did with "every huge AAA release" including Death Stranding. Luckily Sony has its next-gen PlayStation 5 right around the corner with a purported 6 fans to keep the V-shaped design cool -- at least in its PS5 developer kit.

Americans are finding ways inside of their homes, I'm guessing over social distancing and maybe cabin fever, to prevent themselves from getting COVID-19. Some are going as far as dunking their food in, and drinking bleach -- yeah, I'm being serious.

In a recent survey by the CDC (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) there was an "unusual spike" in calls to poison control centers, and it was all over harmful levels of exposure to household cleaning products -- like bleach. The CDC surveyed 502 people in the United States, and used statistical weighting to make it representative of the entire population of the US.

You can see in the CDC data above that 4% of respondents "drank or gargled a household cleaner", while another 4% "drank or gargled diluted bleach solution". Hell, 6% of Americans "inhaled the vapor of household cleaners like bleach" while 10% of Americans "misted the body with cleaning spray or alcohol spray after being in public places".

AMD introduced its SmartShift technology earlier this year, tacked onto the new Ryzen 4000 "Renoir" APUs.

What is SmartShift and why does it matter? SmartShift is a pretty kick ass TDP management feature that can can dynamically adjust resources between a Ryzen CPU and Radeon GPU. This means that if the CPU needs more juice (remember, it's a laptop) then it will pull TDP resources from the GPU and throw them on the CPU, and vica versa.

Well, it will only be on a single laptop throughout the entire of 2020: Dell's G5 15 SE gaming laptop. The news comes directly from ex-Alienware and now Chief Architect of Gaming Solutions at AMD, Frank Azor.

We could be looking at our first pictures of NVIDIA's next-gen GeForce RTX 3080 graphics card, which will be the first consumer graphics card powered by their next-gen Ampere GPU architecture.

In a new leaked image on the Chiphell forums, we have a picture of the purported GeForce RTX 3080 graphics card. At first you'll notice the radically different design, we don't know if these would be NVIDIA's new GeForce RTX 3080 Founders Edition graphics card or an AIB card.

But second, you'll notice that the 'RTX 3080' is upside down to the PCIe power connector on one of the cards, while the other seems to be the right way up. It looks odd, but I doubt these are real and are probably going to end up as fakes. Although, a return of the blower-style fan with the next-gen GeForce RTX 3080 would sure be interesting.

The co-founder of Reddit has just announced that he is resigning, where he will now push all-in with his time and money to "serve the black community, chiefly to curb racial hate".

In a series of tweets, Alexis Ohanian Sr. the co-founder of Reddit, said that he has "resigned as a member of the reddit board, I have urged them to fill my seat with a black candidate, + I will use future gains on my Reddit stock to serve the black community, chiefly to curb racial hate".

He has started his new life by pledging $1 million to former NFL player and now civil rights activist Colin Kaepernick's Know Your Rights Camp. He's not the only internet giant to have donated to Kaepernick's Know Your Rights Camp either, with Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey pledging $3 million just a few days ago.

I'm sure that you've all heard about the huge conspiracies around 5G (so much so that YouTube suppressed any videos linking COVID-19 to 5G) and how it will mind control you, or kill you -- or everything in between. But there are anti-5G extremists who are now targeting 5G towers with dangerous items to hurt people.

Engineers working on 5G towers are finding dangerous traps including razor blades and needles, where someone has hidden them on poles so that when they climb up and do maintainance, they're going to get (seriously) hurt. The UK seems like a hotspot for the attacks on 5G towers, but there have been reports of the same booby traps set on other 5G installations around the world.

The Verge has a lengthy story with multiple accounts of these anti-5G extremists, making it sound like it's much more than just some random people doing this. Also, surely there are cameras nearby that they can use to find out, track, or identify who is doing this?

P.T. was one of the creepiest games I ever played, but now there's something even scarier: P.T. in VR.

We've seen plenty of fan remakes and mods for P.T. over the years, but the now-canceled Silent Hills game from the minds of Hideo Kojima and movie director Guillermo del Toro can now make you poop your pants in VR.

A new mod from creator 'AmbientDruth' called Half Life Alyx Silent Hills PT Mod, with some serious work going into making P.T. work better in the virtual world of VR. The new VR version of P.T. uses the original looping corridor, radio ambiance, talking paper bag, and more.

Bloodborne is coming to PS5 and Steam with 4K 60FPS support, multiple new rumors say.

We've been here before. It seems every year new rumors of a Bloodborne PC port break out. But now things could be a bit different, especially with Sony's PlayStation 5 on the way. Rumor has it a Bloodborne remaster is coming to both PS5 and Steam, complete with new optimizations like 4K 60FPS, beefed up visuals, boosted loading times (especially with the PS5's high-end 5.5GB PCIe 4.0 SSD), and Ultrawide support on PC.

Sources tell YouTuber PC Gaming Inquisition that Bluepoint Games and Dark Souls remastered developer QLOC are working on the project. FromSoftware is currently working on their huge new grim fantasy game Elden Ring. There's clarification that the old Demon Soul's remastered rumors were actually for Bloodborne.
