PUBG dev says Epic: copyright infringement/plagiarism claims
Fortnite has been making strides against fellow Battle Royale game PUBG, but not to the amusement of PUBG Corp. which is now suing Fortnite developer Epic Games over "copyright infringement" and "plagiarism" in Fortnite.
Fortnite debuted in July 2017 with a single 'Save the World' mode, where gamers would build walls and use them to defend themselves from the enemy. A few months later in September, Epic added the new free-to-play 'Battle Royale' mode into the game, something that PUBG Corp. says is plagiarism and copyright infringement of Battlegrounds items, and the UI.
Bluehole said in September (before changing their name to PUBG Corp.) that the recent Battle Royale mode introduced to Fortnite had core elements and UI that seemed very similar to Battlegrounds. PUBG Corp. also noted that it was regrettable that Epic had released a game so similar to Battlegrounds, as the Fortnite developer was a partner of Bluehole.

RX Vega 56-based notebook here, 11 months after Vega debuted
AMD debuted the Radeon RX Vega 64 and RX Vega 56 some 11 months ago now in LA, but there was nothing concrete about Vega-powered gaming notebooks... until now.
Acer revealed its new Predator Helios 500 gaming laptops that can be configured with an enthusiast level Intel/NVIDIA combo in the Core i9-8950HK and GeForce GTX 1070, but what about AMD? Acer has also offered up the first enthusiast AMD only gaming notebook, powered by the Ryzen 7 2700 and the Radeon RX Vega 56.
The 1080p variant of the Predator Helios 500 gaming laptops all rock 144Hz refresh rates, with the Radeon-powered option switching out G-Sync for FreeSync.

PUBG creator says his next game won't be that good
Battlegrounds was the PC phenomenon of 2017 but late last year and for all of 2018, all eyes have been on Epic Games' smash hit Fortnite which has also been dominating iOS, too.
PlayerUnknown himself Brendan Greene was recently interviewed by EDGE magazine, and was asked about his next game, something that Greene downplayed and said wouldn't be as good as PUBG. Greene started off with: "Yeah, I am dreading my next game, because it's PlayerUnknown's Next Game. And there's going to be eyes on it".
He continued: "No matter what I do, there's going to be a lot of critics going, "Well, it's no PUBG." And I've accepted that - I am not going to make a game that's going to get like, three million concurrent users, and tens of millions of players every month. But I'm not aiming to make that. I want to make a game I want to play, and if other people want to play it, that's fantastic - but ultimately, if they don't, I'll still have a game that I can play. So that's my outlook: I'm probably going to get shit on, but that's okay".

Samsung Galaxy Note 9 could rock 8GB RAM, 512GB storage
Samsung will unveil their next big flagship later this year, with the Galaxy Note 9 to surely rock the latest processor from Qualcomm, but I'm more geared for the possibilities of 5G.
The latest rumor is from leaker 'Ice universe' on Twitter, who said if we are lucky we will see 8GB of RAM and 512GB storage on the Galaxy Note 9. Samsung has 6GB of RAM in the Galaxy S9 and Galaxy Note 8, with up to 256GB of internal storage but the leap to 8GB of RAM and 512GB of storage will be a big one.
Samsung wouldn't be the only one on the market with a smartphone with 8GB of RAM, as the OnePlus 6 is powered by 8GB of RAM while OnePlus was already the first with the OnePlus 5T seeing an 8GB SKU released last year.

Bitcoin Gold hit with 51% attack, up to $18 million gone
Bitcoin Gold was hit with a 51% attack in the last few days, with the attacker hitting BTG with a double spend attack that allowed the hacker/s to steal up to $18 million.
The BTG development team confirmed the attack took place, with the attacker controlling over 51% of the network's hashrate, using that to reorganize the blockchain and reverse transactions. The hackers "made deposits at cryptocurrency exchanges, traded the coins for BTC or another coin, and then withdrew the funds. Next, the attacker used their dominant computing power to force the rest of the network to accept falsified blocks that reversed their initial deposits and caused these funds to vanish from exchange-controlled wallets", reports CCN.
Up to $18 million could've been stolen as the attacker sent themselves over 380,000 BTG but there's no word on how many of these transactions were successful. If they were, up to $18 million is gone. The blame? Equihash, the mining algorithm behind BTG. BTG developers blamed, at least in part, Equihash; which is used with numerous cryptocurrencies.

PUBG dev: we've 'fallen short' with performance improvements
Any gamer who played Battlegrounds in its first form will know how horribly unoptimized the game was, bringing even NVIDIA's flagship GeForce GTX 1080 Ti to its knees at high resolutions.
Fortnite launched with impressive performance across mainstream PC components lkike the super-popular GeForce GTX 1060, consoles and even on the iPhone. PUBG has gotten better especially as it got closer and closer to the 1.0 update in December, but the developer has said that it has "fallen short", even in a post 1.0 world of PUBG.
PUBG Corp. would normally wait for a bunch of optimizations and new things for the big update itself, instead of rolling them out across smaller patches. This is going to change, with the developer noting that they will "announce each of these improvements in subsequent patch notes".

Thanos debuts to GTA V with FULL infinity gauntlet powers
At the start of the year we saw the Goku from the Dragon Ball series debut as a mod to GTA V, now 'JulioNIB' the very same modder is bringing Marvel's Thanos to GTA V with the full power of the infinity gauntlet.
The above video showcases some of Thanos' powers, starting the video with the space gem being used to teleport around the city with ease. In the other videos we get separate demonstrations of each of the available powers, Thanos can call down meteors to rain destruction on his enemies as well as shoot a ray of damage using the power gem.
This mod is currently a working progress as the full power of the infinity gauntlet is not 100% displayed in the given videos, no doubt the full power will be available for use when the mod is finished. At the moment there is no estimated time of completion for the mod but if you are interested in keeping up to date with its progress follow 'JulioNIB' on his Patreon.

Ripple enthusiast with $1 billion in XRP dies unexpectedly
Matthew Mellon was already wealthy before the super-powered rise of Bitcoin and all of the other cryptocurrencies, but did you know that he invested $2 million of his fortune into XRP? Mellon has just died unexpectedly, leaving all of his BTC, XRP, and other cryptocurrencies stranded with no way to access them without their respective wallet passwords.
Mellon spent $2 million buying XRP because he liked that the Ripple team was working within the banking system, where at the time he said: "Crypto is scary and dark. It's anti-America. I am pro-America, pro-business and pro-bank. That's why I went with Ripple".
At the peak of XRP, Mellon's bag of Ripple was worth $1 billion and his family cannot find the password to access the funds. Mellon, up until his death, was spending $7 million a month before he was found dead in his Mexico hotel room on April 16. Mellon made a name for himself in fashion, and then made his first billion with XRP, but struggled with drug addiction throughout his life.

AMD Ryzen 3700/3800X: 12C/24T and 16C/32T in 2019 on AM4
AMD really raised the bar with multi-core processors with the successful launches of Ryzen and Threadripper, and while Intel sales are barely affected by it, it shouldn't stop AMD from continuing to push out new generations of these CPUs with many more cores.
The latest rumor is from WCCFTech so please take it with a grain of salt, that AMD will making the AM4 socket detect CPUs with greater than 8 cores, ushering in support for possibly 12- and 16-core CPUs. WCCFTech adds "according to private conversations we've had with incredibly knowledgeable people in the industry the actual core count figure might be closer to 12 cores" and not the 16C/32T that we're hearing with the latest rumors.
Ryzen 7 3700/X or Ryzen 7 3800/X with 12C/24T at over 4GHz would be quite the chip, quite the chip indeed. Having that type of power at the top of the Ryzen 7 mainstream lineup opens the flood gates to Threadripper ramping up to 20C/40T, 24C/48T, and even 32C/64T which will meet EPYC. EPYC can be opened up further with next-gen nodes and Zen architectures, where we will see beyond 32C/64T which will be very impressive, time will tell though.

Battlefield V concept art looks absolutely amazing
Battlefield 1942 was one of my favorite games at the time, completely changing LAN games for me and millions of PC gamers at the time, seemingly forever.
With the tease of Battlefield V last week, the DICE team shared some of their close thoughts on the Battlefield V franchise, as well as some truly amazing concept art from the game. Lars Gustavsson, the Creative Director of DICE, posted on the Battlefield website with a new article 'Battlefield V - WW2 As You Have Never Seen It Before'.
Gustavsson himself talks about BF1942, where he says: "World War 2. Some say that it was mankind's greatest conflict. For me and the original team -- who back in 1999 shared a dream to expand the shooter genre by adding tanks, planes, and naval units into one large battlefield -- WW2 was always our first choice. The result was Battlefield 1942, and it kicked off a journey I've been a part of ever since".

Battlefield 5 confirmed with premium and 'grind currency'
We all know Battlefield V will feature real-world money microtransactions, a premium currency that will be used exclusively to buy cosmetic items in-game.
EA has confirmed that Battlefield V will feature a "grind currency" that can only be earned through playing the game. This is a nice touch to the game, as it means players that don't have heaps of money to pump into the game can still benefit, but so too can those who want the premium currency.
There are gamers who see the benefits of this, and those who aren't particularly happy about the idea. For me, I'm kind of on the fence. I get what EA is trying to do, especially after all their issues surrounding microtransactions, but at the same time it's not the best way of doing things.

The Wolf Among Us Season Two hit with 2019 delay
Telltale Games has announced that The Wolf Among Us sequel will unfortunately be delayed until 2019, even though the title was expected to be launched later this year.
Telltale Games has posted on their website that this delay is due to "fundamental changes" that have occurred at Telltale after the announcement of the sequel back in last years summer.
The developer has said that this extra time they are giving themselves to work on the title is so they can provide players with an experience that features Telltales "best work." Here is what they had to say "Ultimately our goal is to deliver an experience deserving of the passion you've consistently shown for The Wolf Among Us, and these extra months will give us the time we need to do our best work. We're extremely enthusiastic about how the game is progressing so far, and we can't wait to dig even deeper."

Resident Evil 2 remake: RE7 engine, 4K 60FPS on PS4 Pro
The original Resident Evil games were some of the best in the franchise, so it shouldn't come as a surprise that a Resident Evil 2 remake could happen, but powered by the RE7 engine is a huge deal.
Capcom has been teasing us for a while now, but according to Rely on Horror, the RE2 Remake is now running on a modified version of the RE Engine, the same one that powered Resident Evil 7. The purported Resident Evil 2 remake would run at 1080p 30FPS on the original PS4, but is using magic to hit native 4K 60FPS on the PS4 Pro, which I kind of don't believe.
The RE2 remake will reportedly use dynamic scaling to hit up to 4K when it needs to, so it can stick to a fluid 60FPS. The remake would see the camera shift to over-the-shoulder in Resident Evil 2, with Capcom reportedly adding new scenes and scenarios into the RE2 remake that will make it more detailed, and longer.

Fortnite made almost $300 million in April
Battle royale sensation Fortnite continues making huge monthly revenues.
According to SuperData's new games revenue report, Epic made a whopping $296 million in April via digital in-game purchases on all platforms. The free-to-play game's debut on mobile likely helped boost earnings due to its accessibility, and the game is set to arrive on Android this summer, which may cause another spike. Overall the shooter's earnings jumped a mighty 33% month-over-month.
Total digital video games spending grew to $9.09 billion in April, up 23% year-over-year, driven by console and mobile gaming. Console spending jumped a huge 44% thanks to Fortnite's continual success as well as Sony's latest God of War game, proving that engagement-driven live service games can co-exist with marquee singleplayer-only titles.

New Battlerite Royale screenshots unveil UI/more gameplay
Stunlock Studios has released yet another batch of Battlerite Royale screenshots, this time they have revealed more gameplay as well as the new modes user interface (UI).
Stunlock Studios' Battlerite currently has over 4 million players and those players will be receiving a new battle royale mode that is planned for release July 2018. The first batch of screenshots that was released at the start of this month showcased some brief gameplay snippets, the second batch that has now been released reveals the games UI as well as shows some more gameplay.
Just like every other battle royale title, players will begin the game with nothing at all and in this case Battlerite Royale players will begin with no items or abilities. Players will be required to traverse the map and find their abilities, equipment and consumables. The fastest way to do this would be to kill other players, steal their loot/abilities from their dead bodies and power-up yourself so much that you are the last one standing on the battlefield. If you missed out on Battlerite Royale's map concept art that was released by Stunlock Studios definitely check it out.
