Rare precursor 1939 Porche Type 64 auctioned falsely for $70 million
What many consider as the car that molded Porsche into what we see today was accidentally auctioned falsely for $70 million, a settlement was later solidified at $17 million.
At the Monterey Car Week in California, bidding started for a super 1939 Porsche Type 64, a car that according to Wikipedia is "considered by many to be the first automobile from what was to become the Porsche company, and a true design precursor to the post-war production model". Looking at the above video we can see that the bidding began at $13 million and then jumped to $30 million, which is where the mistake first began.
When the figure jumped to $30 million the crowd was verbally shocked, it then increased to $40 million, then to $50 million, $60 million and finally settling at $70 million. The announcer then said that he figures were incorrectly projected and that the correct figure is $17 million, the projected numbers then quickly reverted back to the correct figure.

Cancelled Batman: Arkham Knight sequel story details revealed
A new leak on 4Chan has revealed some behind the scenes aspects of the cancelled Batman: Arkham Knight sequel. Story details, concept art and more.
The news has been sourced from 4Chan and while that might seem like a no-so-credible source, these leaks do seem quite legitimate at face value. While I'm not claiming that they are 100% true, we do know that from the renders we can see villains such as Two-Face, Gorilla Grodd, and a female Black Mask, as well as Gotham.
The leak also claims that game would of included a: batbike, damian wayne as batman, run down gotham, two face as the judge, grodd, flamingo, female black mask, penguin, older dick grayson, very old bruce wayne and the nemesis system that was present in the Middle-Earth games. If you are interested in checking out all of the images in full quality, a imgur link can be found here.

Ready Player One-like haptic suit 'Woojer Edge' lets you FEEL sound
If you have seen Steven Spielberg's 'Ready Player One' you were probably interested in how far away we are from having the X-1 Haptic Bootsuit that enables virtual reality to be felt in real life. We are now one step closer with the 'Woojer Edge series'.
I stumbled across this kickstarter page started by Woojer who is developed the 'Woojer Edge Series', which is a vest and a strap that allows its users to "feel sound like never before". The Woojer Edge Series is designed for users who are listening to music, playing video games in virtual reality or simply enjoying watching a movie.
The vest creates the same feeling you feel when you are standing next to a sub-woofer or bass orientated speaker, enchancing the sound experience past the limitations of hearing, and into feeling. If you check out the kickstarter page we can see video's of people trying out the Woojer Edge and their surprising reactions towards the experience. The kickstarter page also says that the suit uses built-in aptx low latency bluetooth 5.0 technology, enabling its wireless accessibility.

The Romeo and Juliet of Galaxies spotted by NASA's Hubble Telescope
The Hubble Space telescope is nothing short of incredible, and today we have another breath taking image of two distant galaxies bound for a collision of beautiful cosmic doom.
The image was released by NASA on their Hubble Twitter account and it showcases an amazing display of two galaxies engaging in a cosmic level dance that will eventually result in their impending doom. Scientists have titled the collision UGC 2369, and we know that they will unfortunately collide due to the gravitational distortion of their shape and the bridge of gas that can be seen transferring from one to the other.
The galaxies are about 424 million light-years away, and according to the European Space Agency (ESA), "Interaction with others is a common event in the history of most galaxies. For larger galaxies like the Milky Way, the majority of these interactions involve significantly smaller so-called dwarf galaxies. But every few billion years, a more momentous event can occur." Take our galaxy for example, The Milky Way, at the moment we are currently on a 4 billion year collision course with our neighboring galaxy, Andromeda.

Microsoft and NVIDIA team to inject ray tracing into Minecraft
Minecraft with ray tracing has already been teased before with SEUS Renewed but now NVIDIA has teamed with Microsoft to deliver RTX real-time ray tracing abilities into Minecraft officially.
The ray tracing that has been injected into Minecraft is called path tracing, and is exclusive to the Windows 10 version of Minecraft. With it enabled, you will see beautiful lighting conditions that will be lit up from direct like sources like the sun or glowing lava, hard and soft shadows, diffuse global illumination, reflections, refraction and atmospheric scattering.
Saxs Persson AKA Notch, explains the RTX-powered Minecraft: "In normal Minecraft, a block of gold just appears yellow but with ray tracing turned on, you really get to see the specular highlight, you get to see the reflection, you can even see a mob reflected in it".

Yep, Dying Light 2 has been confirmed to have ray tracing tech
NVIDIA is on a rampage right now announcing new games with RTX-powered real-time ray tracing, as well as gameplay videos to games we knew rocked RTX like Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. The latest game is Dying Light 2, which will now have real-time ray tracing.
NVIDIA released two screenshots from Dying Light 2 with RTX on and off, with some incredible detail being shown in the shadows. The zombies coming in through the window can't be seen without RTX on, with the real lighting in that particular space looking absolutely awesome.
Dying Light 2 is powered by the new C Engine, something that Dying Light 2 lead designer Tymon Smektala explained to Digital Foundry back in July 2018: "It's called C Engine. We changed the name on purpose because some time ago at Techland we decided we wanted [to make] first-person, open-world games. We wanted to create games that deliver high fidelity graphics so that you can really be immersed in that world".

SpaceX's cosmic Roadster driver 'Starman' completes first lap of Sun
Remember when Elon Musk launched a car into space? Well, that Tesla Roadster and its driver 'Starman' have just completed their first lap around the Sun.
When checking out the 'Where is Roadster' website we can see that the cosmic driver has finally managed to complete his first orbit around the Sun. Starman took to the skies 557 days ago when SpaceX launched the Falcon Heavy rocket aimed for orbiting the Sun, and according to the travel data the car has clocked 762 million miles.
Since the car has traveled 762 million miles, it means that it has exceeded its original 36,000-mile warranty over 21,000 times. If you were hoping to spot the roadster from Earth, you unfortunately won't be able to since Earth is currently positioned on the opposite side of the Sun.

Respawn calls Apex Legends players 'ass-hats' and 'freeloaders'
Respawn has been swimming in controversy after the pricing debacle with the cosmetic items in its new Iron Crown Collection event, with the Apex Legends developer taking to the Apex Legends subreddit to apologize and answer some questions.
Repsawn staffer and Reddit poster 'dko5' answered some questions, fanning the nuclear fuel that was being boiled around the Apex Legends subreddit. A list of comments by the Apex_Bot is perfect, collating a bunch of dko5's posts that start with: "We're humans, you know, and we will make mistakes".
The posts continue with dko5 saying that Apex Legends is "not a hugely monetizing game - we just need to make enough money to keep the game going and make more stuff for everyone. When we decided to make Apex Legends a free-to-play game it was imperative that free".

Brain stimulation headset will help treat your depression for $500
The future of treating depression might not be therapy and medication, but rather a headset that you strap on and stimulates your brain in the right ways. Medical technology company Flow out of Sweden is on the forefront of this new wave of technology.
Flow started back in 2016 with Daniel Mansson, CEO of Flow and a clinical psychologist, founded the company after writing his master's thesis on brain stimulation. Mansson also spent years skating between psychology and software, and thus Flow was born. A new hardware product is now being sold as a medication-free treatment to depression.
TechRadar spoke with Mansson, with some hands-on time with the Flow headset. They report that it "looks a bit like a miniature VR headset", sitting on your forehead wiht a band that goes over the top of your head to keep it still. There are two big suction pads that connect to your forehead, with Flow providing single-use cloth pads that sit between your skin and the suction pads.

Super Mario Bros. The Movie deleted scene released, because why not
Super Mario Bros. The Movie was a strange beast of a film... having watched it when I was only 10 years old I was baffled at it as a kid, but as an adult the opinion I have is much different. It's a mess, but it's a classic at the same time -- and now it's back in the headlines with a deleted scene released.
The deleted scene is thanks to the website Super Mario Bros. The Movie Archive, which got their hands-on a VHS tape they acquired from an auction from the estate of producer Roland Joffe. One of the golden gems in that auction was an extended rough cut of Super Mario Bros. The Movie that packed a huge 15 minutes of scenes from the movie that weren't released in cinema, or the home cuts.
One of the additional scenes in the extended cut sees Mario and Luigi talking with other plumbers, with Mike and Doug trying to swindle the Mario Bros into charging more for a job. The thing is, this scene was referenced in the Super Mario Bros. The Movie trading cards and toys at the time, but the scene never made the movie.

NVIDIA CEO: you're CRAZY to buy a non-racing GPU in 2019
NVIDIA has had a ray tracing graphics card on the market for close to a year now, with NVIDIA founder and CEO Jensen Huang having some fighting words for gamers (and its competitor). In NVIDIA's recent earnings call Q&A session, Huang said you'd be crazy to buy a GPU in 2019 without ray tracing support.
NVIDIA founder and CEO Jensen Huang said: "SUPER is off to a super start for and at this point, it's a foregone conclusion that we're going to buy a new graphics card, and it's going to the last 2, 3, 4 years to not have ray tracing is just crazy".
Huang continued: "Ray tracing content just keeps coming out. And between the performance of SUPER and the fact that it has ray tracing hardware, it's going to be super well positioned for throughout all of next year".

Crytek on next-gen consoles: SSD is 'the real game changer'
2020 is going to be the year of the biggest change in the gaming industry, probably ever. Microsoft and Sony will be launching their next-gen Xbox and PlayStation consoles, which will represent the largest leap in consoles ever.
In a new chat with Wccftech and Crytek about Hunt: Showdown, the site asked about their opinion on the early next-gne console specs of the new Xbox and PS5. Crytek replied: "If visual quality will most likely continue to increase in the same large steps as is expected with any new generation of consoles, the real game changer will certainly be the new fast storage that has been promised".
The next-gen Xbox Scarlett and PlayStation 5 consoles will both have PCIe 4.0-powered SSDs offering next-gen speeds of up to 5GB/sec, driving read/write speeds by 10x over a traditional SATA SSD inside of most gamers' PCs. When ALL of your console base has them -- every next-gen Xbox and PlayStation console into the 100 million+ within 5 years of release, it opens up some new doors for game developers.

Elon Musk wants to 'nuke Mars', DOOM dev will lend him the BFG 10000
Elon Musk must've tipped a few back over the weekend as the SpaceX founder and CEO teased the idea of nuking Mars again... but this time, he has t-shirts. Musk took to Twitter over the weekend with a simple tweet:
This isn't the first time Musk has talked about nuking the red planet, where four years ago he went on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert and talked about detonating nuclear bombs over the poles of Mars. Musk said this was one of the strategies of making Mars more livable. The interview with Stephen Colbert is below:

Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion reborn in Skyrim's engine, looks enchanting
After seven long, long years of development, the hugely ambitious Skyblivion project shaping up into an "actual video game."
The wizards behind Skyblivion--a total conversion mod that recreates the entirety of Oblivion in the Skyrim engine--have made tremendous progress with the mod since development began in 2012. The small dedicated 50+ team of volunteers just released a trailer showcasing said progress, revealing one of the most amazingly authentic recreations in gaming history.
For all intents and purposes, the TESRenewal team is remastering Oblivion with a free mod. It's actually something I'd pay for on Bethesda's failed Creation Club mod storefront. I absolutely loved Oblivion when it released--it was the purest example of next-gen gaming I've experienced to date--and am total awe of this level of talent, skill, and pure dedication.
