E3 2019 - Our predictions were right: People Can Fly's next game is set in a new sci-fi FPS IP called Outriders, and it aims to be a darker Borderlands.

At its E3 2019 show, Square Enix announced Outriders, the next big shooter from Bulletstorm and Gears of War Judgement developer People Can Fly. Outriders is a 3-player FPS with drop-in, drop-out co-op action set around a grim and strange fantasy world. It'll sport tons of chaotic guns and hulking monstrosities set on the foreboading planet of Enoch, with a story centered around fleeing a ruined Earth.

We didn't get to see any actual Outriders gameplay, but the cutscenes illustrated some incredibly dark and chaotic sequences that have me intrigued. Outriders has been in development for the last few years and is due out Summer 2020 for PS4, Xbox One and PC.

E3 2019 - It's official: Final Fantasy 8 is getting remastered for all platforms in 2019.

Square Enix today confirmed Final Fantasy 8 will get a remastered treatment, but it won't feature dramatically enhanced graphics and newly tooled systems like the Final Fantasy 7: Remake. The graphics are still decidedly old-school and the classic look and feel is there, complete with Guardian Forces, turn-based combat, and Squall's emo attitude.

Final Fantasy 8 Remastered will release sometime in 2019 on PS4, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch.

E3 2019 - Final Fantasy VII: Remake will ship on two discs at launch.

Today Square Enix confirmed the first chapter of its massively anticipated Final Fantasy VII: Remake will ship on two discs when it launches in March 2020.

"Remaking Final Fantasy VII has allowed us to dive much deeper into the world and its characters than ever before. The game design was optimized for this as well, and we anticipated two Blu-ray discs worth of gameplay content," said FF7 Remake producer Yoshinori Kitase.

E3 2019 - Just like with Assassin's Creed: Odyssey, Ubisoft is infusing deep RPG mechanics into its next big Watch Dogs game.

Watch Dogs Legion lets you recruit anyone in the entire game. Anyone you see walking around the dystopian sci-tech city of London can be recruited as a DedSec member. Once folded into your team, these characters can be managed, buffed, and assigned specific roles. Like party members in an RPG, your DedSec squad can level up, equip weapons, and unlock new perk bonuses to boost efficacy in missions and combat scenarios. The beauty of Legion is that everyone in the entire game can join your party.

Every single character in Watch Dogs Legion has their own randomized skillsets and passive bonuses that tie neatly into their personalities and backstory. Each profile has been dramatically expanded with various RPG-level buffs.

So... I'm sitting here in my hotel room the morning after a massive 10-hour information download session from AMD and their Next Horizon Gaming event and wanted to write it all up. The problem? There's too much to talk about.

So before I give you the basic run down of Navi and the new Radeon RX 5700 and RX 5700 XT, I'll tell you one of two things. First, I will detail much more of this when I get back home next week in much greater detail. Secondly, AMD has never hosted an event with so many new things to show us and I don't think I've ever been this excited for the company, ever.

We all know about Navi by now: AMD's next-gen GPU architecture on the new 7nm node. It is here to compete with NVIDIA's current GeForce RTX 2060 and RTX 2070 (before things get SUPER). It is not, and was never meant to, compete or beat the flagship RTX 2080 Ti and that is not a bad thing.

E3 2019 - Keanu Reeves showing up at E3 to announce Cyberpunk 2077's release date was absolutely monumental. The internet blew up and everyone was talking about the game. But there was a special on-stage moment that proves wherever Keanu goes, magic follows.

On stage at Microsoft' E3 press conference, Keanu Reeves affirmed Cyberpunk 2077's huge sprawling sci-fi landscape of Night City is quite breathtaking. Attendee Peter Sark then made E3 history by saying what we all think about Keanu. "You're breathtaking!" Sark said, and of course Keanu being Keanu pointed right at the gamer and echoed the sentiment. Sark shared the moment on Twitter, prompting CD Projekt RED to offer up a free Cyberpunk 2077 collector's edition.

Keanu Reeves will star as Johnny Silverhand in Cyberpunk 2077, an ex-Marine ex-rocker from the universe's massively famous Samurai band. This is the second time Reeves has played a Johnny in a futuristic medium. Keanu will help V exact revenge on the crimelords of Night City: "Wake up Samurai. We have a city to burn."

E3 2019 - Ubisoft announced uPlay+, a new game subscription service for PC that's very similar to Xbox Game Pass.

As we predicted, uPlay+ is a Game Pass clone that taps Ubisoft's rich vein of games. uPlay+costs $14.99 a month and offers unlimited access to over 100+ games, including current hits like Assassin's Creed: Odyssey, The Division 2, Far Cry: New Dawn, For Honor, and Rainbow Six: Siege as well as classics like Splinter Cell: Blacklist, Beyond Good and Evil, and Prince of Persia.

But it's not a streaming service. uPlay+ is an all-you-can-play subscription that lets users download titles directly to their PC for dedicated offline play. All of Ubisoft's new games will be available on uPlay+. Upcoming titles like Watch Dogs Legion,Rainbow Six: Quarantine, and Ghost Recon: Breakpoint will launch first on the service, and subscribers get 20% off on all purchases made in the uPlay Store.

E3 2019- Ubisoft today announced Rainbow Six: Quarantine, a new standalone PVE-based game centered around FPS survival.

Rainbow Six: Quarantine is a new survival-horror squad-based shooter coming in 2020, and is designed to be played with three players. It aims to be the PVE half of Siege's competitive multiplayer. Quarantine is not directly attached to Rainbow Six: Siege, but it will share characters, lore, guns, and overall FPS mechanics with the PVP-focused forebear.

"Our goal with Quarantine is simple: create a radically redesigned coop experience, build on the foundations on one of the best shooters of our generation," said Bio Jade, lead game designer on Quarantine. "What Siege is to PVP, we will be for PVE co-op."

Watch Dogs: Legion lets you swap between multiple characters you recruit throughout the world, even unsuspecting innocent grandmas.

E3 2019 - Today Ubisoft announced Watch Dogs: Legion, the sequel set in a high-tech London filled with crime, drones, and tons of surveillance. The main selling point of Legion is its lack of a pivotal character: instead of one main protagonist, Legion lets you switch between a bunch of different characters on-the-fly. Everyone in London is a potential DedSec rebel-even old British ladies.

E3 2019 - Halo: Infinite's E3 2019 trailer wasn't all that good, and 343i squandered a rare opportunity to ignite the fire of the franchise once again.

Halo: Infinite's E3 trailer wasn't that good and could've been so much better. The best part of it was showing Chief's devil may cry attitude and running into the heart of danger, and not wanting to give up even against impossible odds. But 343i really didn't exemplify that very well--we didn't get to see a clear threat, nor did we get to see any disastrous circumstances to instill a sense of urgency--and the footage really missed the mark of the studio's entire goal for the project.

Halo: Infinite is built on re-capturing the magic of the Halo series, and one of its main foundations is hope. After seeing this trailer the only thing I hope for is that 343i doesn't mess the game up. There's no electric thrill of war or the dire sense of death, no excitement that gets us pumped or amped; the footage mostly takes place in a small enclosed space that does the game nor Master Chief justice.

E3 2019 - Microsoft's new ultra-powerful console will play games all the back to the very first Xbox.

Microsoft has officially confirmed it's new next-gen Project Scarlett console is backward compatible with four generations of Xbox games. Scarlett essentially forwards the Xbox One's current backward compatibility feature and will play games from the original Xbox, Xbox 360, Xbox One, and of course the new Scarlett era.

This also hints games will have two releases when Scarlett releases in Holiday 2020: an Xbox One version, and a Scarlett enhanced SKU. Microsoft hasn't confirmed how the generational shift--Scarlett is a huge generational leap in power--will happen insofar as new games, but old games will indeed be supported moving forward. It's possible games could just see a single release with Scarlett enhancement updates similar to the Xbox One X, but it's more likely we'll see two versions of Xbox games considering Scarlett is a huge jump over existing hardware.

In a story that hasn't been covered much at all, you might not have read that an Ars Technica staffer was recently arrested by the FBI after an attempted enticement of a minor to engage in illegal sexual ctivity.

Peter Bright was a respected member of the tech press, openly claiming he was in a relationship with an 11-year-old. His own personal Twitter even states he's "pervy", so it seems ht wasn't trying to hide this at all. An undercover FBI special agent reached out to Bright through KinkD, something I'd never heard of until today, a social media platform for sexual fetish connections.

Where it gets worse is that the undercover FBI agent reached out to "randomanon", or Bright, saying that she was a mother that wanted to talk to people who would teach her kids about the "birds and the bees". Bright bit the bait, being allured with the purported 7- and 9-year old children used as bait.

E3 2019 - It feels like it has been years and years that we've been waiting for Microsoft to unveil its next-generation Xbox consoles, and the day is finally, finally here.

Microsoft revealed some key details about its next-gen Project Scarlett console during its E3 2019 press event, which is powered by AMD's next-gen custom Zen 2 and Navi chips and rocks up to 4x the power of the Xbox One X. We're looking at 8K video support, 120FPS frame rate support, ray tracing, and a super-fast SSD.

Better yet, the new Xbox will support ALL previous-gen Xbox games... yeah, like, all of them. From the OG Xbox which started it all, right through to Xbox 360 and Xbox One/S/X games.

After years and years of waiting, fans can play Final Fantasy VII: Remake in early 2020.

On the heels of its big concert event, Square Enix today confirmed Final Fantasy VII: Remake will release on March 3, 2020 on PlayStation 4. The Remake is easily the publisher's biggest game in recent memory, breathing new life into the 1997 classic with a totally new revamped action-based combat system and massively enhanced graphics.

Final Fantasy VII: Remake won't be exclusive to the PS4 either. A press release announcement says it'll "debut first" to PS4, strongly hinting it'll launch on both Xbox One and PC throughout 2020. This falls into Square Enix's penchant for widespread platform releases and the company surely needs maximum exposure for their new AAA RPG--especially after recent financial losses.

E3 2019 - Apex Legends is about to kick off a huge new season of content, complete with a new hero called Wattson, ranked modes, a new gun...but where are the Titans? Respawn always wanted them in the game, and they could be coming at some point.

Although it's set in the Titanfall universe, Apex Legends is missing the biggest part of the sci-fi series: giant mechs. In a recent E3 interview with Geoff Keighley, Apex Legends director Drew McCoy confirmed Respawn worked on ways to bring Titans into the game right from the beginning.

"We actually prototyped Titans for 9 months while Apex was in development. But we could never get them to work," McCoy said.

The developers behind the critically acclaimed title Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice have announced a new title called Bleeding Edge. Are you excited for some unique 4v4 team-based action?

During the Xbox Breifing at E3 2019, Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice developer, Ninja Theory showcased their new upcoming 4v4 team-based arena fighter 'Bleeding Edge' in a new trailer. The trailer which is located above gives us a look at the new game, with some details spliced with some rapid gameplay action.

From the trailer we are introduced to a large selection of champions that players will have the option of choosing from. Each of the characters looks quite unique compared to the next, and already it seems the game will launch with quite the extensive cast. At the moment we don't really know how 8 players will compete against each other, the first thing that comes to might though is a somewhat Overwatch like experience.

E3 2019 - Techland has released the official E3 2019 trailer for their upcoming title Dying Light 2. The trailer has been showcased throughout the Microsoft press conference which has just finished.

Techland, the developers behind the Dying Light franchise have showed off Dying Light 2, their sequel to the first-person action survival game set in a crazy zombie-filled post-apocalyptic world. From the above trailer we are introduced to Aiden, one of many survivors in an infected world turmoil filled world. We see Aiden use some of that juicy parkour action on some zombies, traversing obstacles and we even get a great display of some epic wall-running.

The trailer doesn't really show much more off gameplay wise, but what we do get is a estimated release date. At the end of the trailer it is revealed that Dying Light 2 will be released sometime in the Spring of 2020. THQ Nordic has dropped a bombshell remake trailer for early 2000's gamers, bringing back to life none other than Destroy All Humans!

Destroy All Humans released back in 2005 on the PS2 and the original Xbox and became one of the more successful titles to come out Pandemic Studios. THQ Nordic has now breathed some life into the title as a new trailer on their YouTube Channel has been released revealing that Destroy All Humans! is officially going to be remastered.

The planned remake of the title will be in celebration of the games 15th year anniversary, which also ties into the announced release date of 2020. Black Forest Games will be taking the reins development wise and THQ Nordic will come in as the publisher. Perhaps we will see some gameplay sometime throughout E3 next week, either way I'm happy to know that it will soon be possible to once again Destroy All Humans! - this time in glorious high-definition graphics.

It has been quite some time since we have heard about the next DLC fighter for Super Smash Bros. UItimate, and now it seems we are finally going to find out who it is at E3 2019.

Nintendo's E3 2019 Super Smash Bros. Ultimate tournament has wrapped up and to celebrate the winners the Super Smash Bros. director, Masahiro Sakurai took to a video to congratulate Team Japan.

After expressing his graititude towards seeing Super Smash Bros. Ultimate being played at a high and competitive level, Sakurai began to discuss the next DLC fighter for the game. He starts off by saying that he will be "continuing my work on the next DLC fighter and more information regarding that will be shared in the Nintendo Direct for E3 2019".

E3 2019 - Microsoft have finished up their E3 2019 press conference, and throughout their time on centre stage we have learned when Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition will be arriving in gamers laps.

A new trailer has been released onto the Xbox YouTube Channel showing off the some new gameplay from the upcoming title. We learn that the game will be remastered in 4K, have fully remastered audio and include a brand new campaign called "The Last Khans".

The video also shows us some amazing revamped destruction of buildings and gates, not to mention the all out wars that are happening with calvary and on-foot soldiers. The trailer also says that we can expect the release of Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition sometime this fall. Microsoft will be holding a closed beta test, you can sign up to that here.
