Bitcoin breaks $19K, should make new all-time high and hit $20K soon
Bitcoin has had a huge 6 months, with the father of all cryptocurrencies flying upwards by 120% since May 2020 -- reaching $19,196 at the time of writing.
BTC was at $18,059 just over 24 hours ago and is now at a 24-hour high of $19,146 -- with it just over $800 away from its all-time high of $20k. This is the first time Bitcoin has been above $19,000 in over 3 years -- where it was last at this point in December 2017.
It seems Bitcoin will be ringing in the New Year with an all-time high, hell it could happen in the next couple of days or even today. Just a few weeks ago PayPal announced it would allow cryptocurrency for buying, selling, shopping in 2021 -- and then not even two weeks ago PayPal allowed all US users to buy, sell, hold cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin.

Sony's PS5 controller 'just works' on games using Steam input API
If you're one of the lucky ten people in your neighbourhood actually to score a PlayStation 5, you can now use your controller to play PC games through Steam. The latest Steam client update added full support for Sony's fancy new controller.
Valve just rolled out a new update for Steam, which includes further controller support in the Steam Input API. Specifically, Valve added support for Sony's new DualSense wireless controller, including features such as the LED lights, the trackpad, the rumble system, and the gyro input. Best of all, developers don't have to do anything. Valve said the controller "just works."
Sony's DualSense controller won't work will all games, but it will work with a large portion of them. Basically, any game that supports the Steam Input API will get automatic support for the new controller.

COD: Black Ops Cold War better on PS5 with 120FPS, ray tracing on XSX
Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War looks like it's better on the PlayStation 5 right now -- at least in 120FPS mode, while the Xbox Series X is the superior console for ray tracing in COD: Black Ops Cold War.
Digital Foundry have dug into the game, finding that the 60FPS + ray tracing mode runs at a steady 60FPS on the Xbox Series X -- while the 60FPS + ray tracing mode dips into the 40FPS range. Meanwhile, the 120FPS performance mode sees the PS5 trailing ahead of the XSX.
Both the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X are rendering Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War at a dynamic 4K resolution in Performance mode with the identical assets -- so the performance gap between them could be because the PS5 rocks a variable-frequency CPU, or it could just be some weird optimization.

Lian Li's PC-011D Mini is like a Tardis: It's bigger on the inside
Lian Li is about to release the smaller version of its highly popular PC-011D series cases. But don't let the compact size fool you. This case won't limit your build to compact parts.
Lian Li first announced the PC-110D Mini at CES 2020, and we've been waiting all year for it. The company isn't quite ready to ship the new case, but it's prepared to take your money, so the release must be close.
Lian Li's PC-011D is one of the most popular case series on the market today for a good reason. If you want to show off your build, especially if you have a fancy custom water cooling system, there are not many other options that give you such a clear view of your hardware because of its tempered glass front and side panel that give you a full open view into the case.

Hitman 3 optimized on PC for 8+ cores, ray tracing patch post-launch
Hitman 3 will be stealthing onto consoles and PCs on January 20, 2021 -- but IO Interactive is now teasing that the game will have a post-launch update that will have ray tracing. The developer also talked about its work with Intel on optimizing the PC version of the game.
IO Interactive explained in a new blog post: "Together with Intel, we are working to optimize the game for launch and beyond, with updates, tweaks and improvements coming throughout 2021 that will improve the experience of playing on a high-end PC and multi-core CPUs".
"These optimizations include enhancing HITMAN 3 for PC players with 8+ core CPUs, for example you'll be able to spot more crowds in Dubai or experience more complex destructibility in Dartmoor. We're also introducing Variable Rate Shading (VRS), a technique that allows us to prioritize GPU resources where they have the biggest impact. On top of that, we will also implement Ray Tracing after the launch of the game, later in 2021".

Sony boss says the PlayStation 5 is completely sold out worldwide
If you've tried to find a PlayStation 5 and you've been unable to buy one, you shouldn't be surprised -- they're virtually sold out worldwide.
According to Sony Interactive Entertainment CEO Jim Ryan in a recent interview with Russian news outlet TASS the next-gen PlayStation 5 console is completely sold out worldwide. PlayStation 5 launch sales have been excellent, but I think at this point Sony's hands are tied -- I'm sure they're making as many as they can and are strapped by the flow of the semi-custom AMD chips being made by TSMC on 7nm.
Sony Interactive Entertainment CEO Jim Ryan explained: "And everything will be sold in Russia, there's no doubt about that. I've spent much of the last year trying to be sure that we can generate enough demand for the product. And now in terms of my executive bandwidth I'm spending a lot more time on trying to increase supply to meet that demand".

Oculus extended the Asgard's Wrath promotion to all Quest 2 owners
Last week Oculus announced that it would be giving away copies of Asgard's Wrath to Quest 2 owners who activate their headset between November 20 and January 31 and then plug it into a computer for Oculus Link. Now that promotion is available to all Quest 2 owners.
The new promotion, which Oculus launched to celebrate the first anniversary of Oculus Link, caught more negative attention than the company probably expected. The idea of giving a free game as a Black Friday sale would make sense, but that's not really what Oculus is doing here, and it appears the company now agrees.
Oculus Link is a way for Quest 2 owners to use their headset as a PC VR system, a great feature, but it's hardly a mainstream use for a Quest 2 headset. The average Quest 2 buyer is more interested in the console-like nature of the standalone VR device. Those people may need some enticement like a free game to pique their interest, but a PC VR title probably isn't the right piece of content for that crowd.

This is the most beautiful 3dfx Voodoo graphics card family photo
Anyone that knows me will know that I'm a huge geek for graphics cards, with my love for them starting with the 3dfx Voodoo graphics cards and the GeForce 256 and ATi Radeon 9700 PRO.
Well, I found Al Valentyn on Twitter sharing his photos of his personal 3dfx collection... and oh boy have his posts been amazing. In some tweets I said I'd love to see his 3dfx collection, so he posted up some photos for me to look at so I thought I'd share them for you to see.
The collection Al has is incredible, and I'm very jealous of this -- it makes me want to start my own collection but I think he already has it nearly covered. Just wow.

Here's 46 screenshots of new Cyberpunk 2077 gameplay with RTX enabled
In a new video released by CD PROJEKT RED and NVIDIA, we get a closer look at NVIDIA's next-gen RTX technology running in new Cyberpunk 2077 gameplay footage. You can read more on that here, or check out the slick video below:
The trailer talks about the details of the open world of Cyberpunk 2077, but in the second half of the video we get our latest look at GeForce RTX-powered graphics. It definitely adds to the experience in the video, but I do want to see it running in person, in the flesh on a new GeForce RTX 3080 or RTX 3090.
I couldn't find any screenshots online, so I took a bunch of screen grabs for your viewing pleasure if you want to flick through some pictures and zoom in on some of the finer details of the RTX-powered Cyberpunk 2077.

Slow methodical playthroughs of Cyberpunk 2077 can last over 175 hours
Cyberpunk 2077 is the biggest game CD Projekt RED has ever made--and going by The Witcher 3's length, that's saying a lot. How long can the game last? Some playthroughs might take 200 hours.
CD Projekt RED's lead QA tester Lukasz Babiel has spent over 175 hours in his current Cyberpunk 2077 playthrough, and he's still not done with everything. Granted Babiel has been playing on the hardest difficulty and taking his time in a slow and methodical pace, exploring everything the game has in store.
"That's just one of my ongoing slow paced playthroughs on the hardest difficulty where I play more stealthy than usual, loot everything, use every feature the game has to offer, I take my time," Babiel said.

This new Cyberpunk 2077 footage features brand new RTX gameplay
CD PROJEKT RED and NVIDIA have shown off some new Cyberpunk 2077 gameplay footage, showing off all the fancy RTX ray tracing effects. Check it out:
CDPR said that they worked "worked very closely with NVIDIA to bring ray tracing to the game", with Jakub Knapik, Lighting and FX Art Director at CD PROJEKT RED, explains that turning on RTX in Cyberpunk 2077 "took on a whole new level".
Knapik continued: "with ray tracing the whole idea of making this world simulator gets this extra crazy boost. First thing I like to point out is the shadows. When you have the whole city, see it through the horizon. And it's all so complex. You have antennas, buildings, cars, people, everything is super busy. And normally you need to do some shortcuts... and ray tracing is cutting the shortcuts. Everything is getting a perfect shadow".

XFX Radeon RX 6800 XT Speedster Merc 319 detailed, reviews soon
We can expect a gigantic amount of custom Big Navi graphics cards released in the last 5 weeks before 2020 wraps up, and I'm sure many more in 2021.
One of them is the XFX Radeon RX 6800 XT Speedster Merc 319 graphics card, which Tech of Tomorrow recently unboxed. The new XFX Radeon RX 6800 XT Speedster Merc 319 has a funky name, while rocking a triple-fan cooler and 2.5-slot design.
The PCB is not too long, while the huge cooler dwarfs it and runs over the PCB considerably. On the back is a very noticeable 'MERC' branding which I don't know if I'm a fan of yet -- it really overtakes the entire XFX branding which I think I would prefer blown up that big on the back of the card with maybe some RGB lighting behind it.

AMD Radeon RX 6800 XT breaks 3DMark world record under LN2 cooling
It was only a few days ago that overclocker 'Lucky_n00b' used his Radeon RX 6800 XT to break HWBOT's 3DMark FireStrike record -- and now that record has been crushed by Chinese overclocker Takakou from TecLab.
AMD's own reference Radeon RX 6800 XT graphics card was used to break the 3DMark FireStrike record that Lucky_n00b just set, but instead of just LN2 cooling the Ryzen 9 5950X processor like Lucky_n00b did, Takakou LN2 cooled both the Radeon RX 6800 XT and Ryzen 9 5950X.
Takakou pushed his system to achieve 61,831 graphics score and 48,890 overall in 3DMark FireStrike, enough to nudge out Lucky_n00b and his 59,606 graphics score and 47,932 total. The key difference here is that the LN2 cooled Radeon RX 6800 XT was able to hit 2.8GHz while the air-cooled card hit 2.65GHz.

Scope out this ASUS ROG STRIX Radeon RX 6800 XT liquid cooled card
ASUS is preparing its new ROG STRIX Radeon RX 6800 XT Liquid Cooled graphics card, check it out:
We have here a custom Radeon RX 6800 XT with hybrid cooling through an all-in-one (AIO) solution on a 240mm radiator. Normally we see thinner cards when they're liquid cooled, but ASUS has opted with a dual-slot design with what should be a larger, thicker blower-style cooler.
VideoCardz released the photos, adding that some of the renders "feature all the cabling necessary to provide power and RGB signal to the fans, and to put it midly, it does not look that great". VC notes that along with the dual 8-pin PCIe power connectors there will be 6 cables and 2 tubes.

Cyberpunk 2077 PS4 copies released early, gameplay footage leaks out
PS4 copies of Cyberpunk 2077 are leaking out (possibly at a distributor level) and gamers are streaming the game online. Beware of massive spoilers!
Lots of Cyberpunk 2077 footage and spoilers are bound to pop up in the next few days as PS4 game discs have apparently shipped out ahead of schedule. CD Projekt RED's massive FPS-RPG is due out on December 10, but retailers might have slipped up and released North American versions of the game in the last week.
We won't be linking to the uploaded leaks out of respect to CDPR, but I've seen them and I can say the game is worth the wait. I think this is something we all knew already, though. The leaked games confirm Cyberpunk 2077 consists of two Blu-ray discs (one's like a data disc, and the other is probably the play disc) and also comes with a fold-out map, some postcards, stickers, and a game booklet. The physical version sure sounds like the way to go.

PS5 lets you edit screenshots and video as you play games
The PS5 has a bunch of nifty features and functions that don't interrupt gameplay, like being able to edit content made with the Create button.
The PS5 is built on a few simple premises: Seamless immersion, amazing gameplay experiences, and functionality. The console's high-speed SSD allows games to actually respect your time with ultra-fast loading. But the PS5 also saves you time with its uniquely-layered UI.
The system will actually let you do many things while you're gaming. The new control center quick-launch bar lets you navigate to critical settings like downloads/uploads, check friend messages, and even launch music. Pressing the PS button also brings up on-screen cards in a picture-in-picture window that lets you view, edit, and share content you've created without leaving the game.

You can play with mouse and keyboard in AC Valhalla, Cold War on PS5
The PlayStation 5 natively supports mouse and keyboard as peripherals, but it's up to specific games to actually use them. Now we know of them of them.
PS5 owners can hook up both wired USB and Bluetooth mice and keyboards to their consoles for a PC-esque experience. M&K also extends to certain games to possibly give you an edge on the battlefield. Both Assassin's Creed Valhalla and Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War feature mouse and keyboard support baked right in, complete with keymapping, sensitivity controls, and more.
The features aren't perfect though. The console didn't supply enough power for my Tesoro Durandal Spectrum RGB keyboard--no RGB and keypresses didn't work--so I had to use a spare membrane keyboard for testing. My G.Skill Ripjaws MX780 mouse worked, but not tremendously well. The high DPI felt kind of funky while aiming and there seemed to be some lag here and there.

Prime users get this awesome Assassin's Creed Valhalla gear set
If you've got Assassin's Creed Valhalla and are subscribed to Amazon Prime, be sure to grab this free gearset to boost Eivor's inventory.
Ubisoft's new Viking-themed Assassin's Creed game is kind of stingy on armor and weapons. I've been playing for a while now and haven't really found that much great gear. Luckily Twitch has you covered with a pretty powerful new item set to boost your skills.
Twitch Prime Gaming is currently giving away an exclusive set of mythical gear free for all Amazon Prime subscribers. The set hearkens to the Frankish kings of the Carolingian dynasty. The armor and weapons aren't just powerful, but they're also pretty stylish and bring a real sense of regality to Eivor's wardrobe. The gear is from the Bear tree, there's 3 rune slots, and the armor can be upgraded 10 times.
