COLORFUL unveils iGame GeForce RTX 3090 Neptune OC-V Liquid Cooled
COLORFUL has just announced its new flagship iGame GeForce RTX 3090 Neptune OC-V, which packs an all-in-one (AIO) liquid closed-loop cooler (CLC). Check it out:
The company is using a beefy 26-phase (14 + 8 + 4) VRM solution that chews power down from its 3 x 8-pin PCIe power connectors, while COLORFUL has factory overclocked GPU speeds of up to 1755MHz boost (1695MHz reference) and stock 19.5Gbps GDDR6X memory.
The CLC itself keeps the GA102 GPU, GDDR6X memory chips, and VRM cool -- with a 240mm x 120mm radiator that COLORFUL dons with ARGB LED illuminated fans on the card and AIO radiator.

Can't buy a new Ampere GPU? That's because NVIDIA sold them to miners
Yeah it's going to be months before you can buy a new GeForce RT X30 series cards -- and that's directly from NVIDIA. But now, we're hearing why there's so little cards -- $175,000,000 worth of them were reportedly sold to crypto miners.
In a new report from Barrons, it appears that NVIDIA made around $175 million selling Ampere GPUs to crypto miners. Ethereum changes are coming, so miners will not be able to use older GPUs so many of them are upgrading right now -- and picking up whatever Ampere GPUs they can in the process.
"For the quarter in review, NVIDIA sold at least $175 million worth of new generation GPUs to ethereum miners, helping the outperformance. The analyst had guided sales to miners to come in at $150 million for the quarter".

Check out this awesome custom Spider-Man Miles Morales PS5
Spider-Man Miles Morales is hands-down the best PS5 launch game and is definitely among the top PS release games of all time...so it's only fitting Miles gets his own custom console.
Sony might not release custom PS5s for a while, but that hasn't stopped skilled gamers from creating their own. Introducing Brandon Antonio's custom Miles Morales PS5 complete with a snazzy black paintjob and spider-verse logo. It's a simple touch compared to more elaborate special edition systems, but the all-black look and iconic logo goes great with entertainment system setups.
I myself like the two-tone black-and-white design of the stock PlayStation 5, but I'd definitely consider picking this variant up over the base version. Miles really has that effect on you, especially after you play the game on PS5.

Hitman 3 hits killer 4K 60FPS on PS5, Series X, runs 300 NPCs at once
IO Interactive will unleash its new Glacier engine tech on PS5 and Xbox Series X in 2021, pushing higher-end visual and performance tech than ever before.
Like Miles Morales, Demon's Souls, and even Assassin's Creed Valhalla, Hitman 3 should be spectacle on next-gen hardware thanks to new engine optimizations. IO confirms Hitman 3 will hit peak perf like 4K 60FPS with HDR enabled on both PS5 and Series X, and teases some big improvements to its in-game graphics and design.
Outside of raw perf, IO confirms it will leverage the Zen 2 CPUs in next-gen consoles to push 300 NPCs on the screen at a single time--a feat that's usually reserved for Ubisoft or Rockstar games. Other drastic overhauls include atmospheric effects like lighting, fog, and shadows, as well as dynamic weather systems that recreate realistic rainfall and water saturation on player clothing.

Metro developer 4A Games is working on a brand new IP
4A Games is mostly known for its excellent Metro games, but the studio has aspirations outside of the post-apocalyptic series. Now the devs are crafting a new game set in a fresh IP.
Metro developer 4A Games reconfirms it's working on a new IP project set outside of the Metro franchise. The team plans to work on this new mysterious project while it simultaneously develops a new next-gen Metro game. Now that 4A has been acquired by Embracer Group (formerly THQ Nordic) the team enjoys bigger budgets and can leverage Saber Interactive's proprietary network tech for new modes like online multiplayer. In fact, the next Metro title will have multiplayer for the first time--4A says singleplayer story content is still the primary focus.
Technically Saber Interactive owns 4A Games now, and the Metro devs are helping Saber work on 15 new projects. Two of these projects are the new IP and the new Metro title.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla now hits 60FPS on Xbox Series S
Assassin's Creed Valhalla can now hit 60FPS on the weaker, lower-powered Xbox Series S.
Ubisoft just rolled out a new update that lets Xbox Series S owners choose between 60FPS and 30FPS modes in Assassin's Creed Valhalla. Performance mode hits 60FPS with dynamic resolution scaling, and quality mode also has dynamic resolution but targets 30FPS instead. Before the update, Valhalla only hit 30FPS on the Series S.
This is a pretty big deal considering the Series S' specs. The Xbox Series S is 61% less powerful than the Xbox Series X's 12TFLOP GPU, and targets 1440p resolution at 60FPS instead of the Series X's 4K 60FPS. There's also less RAM in the Series S, just 10GB of GDDR6 versus the Series X's 16GB GDDR6 memory.

Microsoft Flight Sim getting full VR support in December update
If you've been waiting to find out when you can take to the skies in Microsoft Flight Simulator in full VR immersion, I've got great news for you! The update is coming near the end of December.
When Microsoft rolled out Flight Simulator 2020 earlier this year, the simulator was missing a significant feature that we were all promised. The initial release didn't include VR support, but the wait for that feature is almost over. The team working on the game said the next patch, which is due in December, would have VR support for everyone.
On Wednesday afternoon, Jorg Neuman, head of Microsoft Flight Sim, joined Sebastian Wloch, CEO of Asobo Studios, and Martial Bossard, the Executive Producer responsible for MS Flight Sim, on Twitch to discuss the development of the simulator and upcoming patches. At approximately 35 minutes into the live stream, Bossard revealed that the next update, called Sim Update 2, would bring VR support out of the closed beta and into the mainstream release.

Minecraft has 400M players in China alone, 600M globally
Minecraft has crossed an incredible milestone in China, with over 400 million registered players in mainland China -- adding 100,000,000 new players this year -- the fastest growth at any point since it launched.
The news is coming from industry analyst Daniel Ahmad, who added: "Minecraft is F2P in China and is published on Mobile and PC by NetEase. The paid game has sold 200m units outside China". Why is Minecraft so massively popular in China? That would be because it's free.
Minecraft is free-to-play on both PC and mobile in China, published by NetEase. If you consider 1.4 billion people live in China, with 400 million registered players that means that around 28% of the population of China -- or around 1 in every 4 people -- play Minecraft.

Epic Thanksgiving Giveaway: MSI GeForce RTX 3080 GAMING X TRIO
Global entry! We have teamed up with MSI to give away one of their totally awesome new GeForce RTX 3080 GAMING X TRIO graphics cards to one lucky winner. Yep, that's right, one of the cards that are really hard to buy right now - it could be yours!
Quote from our review: You can juice it up with a huge 1000MHz overclock on the 10GB of GDDR6X memory which will give you a nice performance boost in some games (4K and 1440p especially). The MSI RTX 3080 GAMING X TRIO is already pushing the boundaries of the GA102 GPU boost clock as it is, but another 25MHz can be applied and it's still whisper quiet.
But right now, if you can somehow get your hands-on MSI's new custom GeForce RTX 3080 GAMING X TRIO you won't regret it. You get that powerhouse RTX 3080 performance that can usher in 4K 120FPS gaming, but it does it all without making noise.

Star Wars: Squadrons 3.0 update brings new VR performance features
EA just rolled out the version 3.0 update for Star Wars: Squadrons. The new patch brings a host of new features, including a new map, support for fancier HOTAS systems, and new battles. And if you play in VR, you've got better performance to look forward to.
Star Wars: Squadrons is one of the best space dogfighting games to come out in ages. Even more exciting is the fact that you can play the entire game in fully immersive virtual reality. That kind of feature is rare to see in a AAA title, and it's scarce for a game from EA. It's not the company's first VR title, but it's the most full-featured VR title in the company's catalogue.
Thankfully, EA seems to be doubling down on VR support for the game. The new patch is mostly a compatibility update for the next-gen PS5 and Xbox Series consoles that some lucky people have, even though EA said it wouldn't do that. But the patch also includes a few performance and fidelity improvements for VR gamers.

Is SideQuest Facebook's next target for destruction?
Facebook is preparing an alternative storefront for the Oculus Quest standalone VR system. The company currently keeps tight requirements for apps on the official store. Many app developers have been forced to look for alternative distribution methods for their software because of it.
SideQuest, the unofficial alternative content store that allows you to sideload unapproved Quest content on your headset, was born of necessity when Facebook started leaving some developers high and dry. SideQuest has thus far operated in a grey area neither against Oculus's terms of service nor adhering to Facebook's vision for its VR platform. Thus far, SideQuest has skirted any severe backlash from Facebook, but that might be about to change next year whenFacebook rolls out its new distribution plans.
Facebook notoriously makes life difficult for developers that build things that it sees valuable to the core Oculus platform. Take Yur Fit, for example, Facebook has repeatedly patched the Quest software to break the functionality of Yur Fit, and it has now rolled out a system-level fitness tracking system that renders Yur Fit all but obsolete. Why wouldn't Facebook do the same to SideQuest once it has a similar solution available?

Pimax completely overhauled the Pimax VR Experience beta
Pimax recently launched the Pimax VR Experience beta, which gives Pimax owners a brand-specific content launcher and home environment. Today it released a new update that introduces "major core changes" to the Pimax VR Experience software.
Pimax said that some of the planned future feature updates would require significant changes to the VR Experience code. Rather than tackle issues as they come up, the software team decided to give it a pre-emptive rebuild. The current iteration is not a complete rebuild, but the company is rolling out a new version because it includes a long list of bug fixes and several feature updates.
Pimax VR Experience 0.70.0.0 beta includes support for touchpad and thumbstick scrolling in all drop-down menus and scrollable pages. You can also now use a mouse scroll wheel to cycle through pages of content. The new version also includes click and drag on the HTC Vive and Valve Index controllers by half-pressing the trigger button.

Sony promises more PlayStation 5 stock before the end of the year
It was only days ago that we were writing that Sony boss Jim Ryan said the PlayStation 5 was sold out, saying "Everything is sold. Absolutely everything sold". But what about trying to get one before April 2021... well, you might be in luck.
Sony tweeted from the offiical PlayStation Twitter account that it wanted to thank gamers for making the PS5 the "biggest console launch ever" for Sony. Sony added: "Demand for PS5 is unprecedented, so we wanted to confirm that more PS5 inventory will be coming to retailers before the end of the year - please stay in touch with your local retailers".
We all know how hard it is to buy a PlayStation 5 -- or an Xbox Series X or S console anywhere on the planet right now, but it appears Sony will have more stock before the end of the year -- and I'm sure it's going to go in a snap of your fingers.

Vive headsets are on sale and include Hal-Life: Alyx in the UK
HTC is offering significant discounts on its Vive VR headset bundles for Cyber Week in the UK. It also brought back the free Half-Life: Alyx promotion from earlier this year.
HTC's UK website is already advertising its Cyber Week sales, which is surprising because there's nothing to be found on the North American website, even with Black Friday being days away.
We have no idea if these discounts will extend anywhere else in the world, but UK buyers can get a pretty good deal on a new headset right now.

This new GTA 6 rumor suggests the game is based in Virginia, USA
Rockstar Games has been hard at work on Grand Theft Auto 6 since 2014, where it was teased back in April 2015 that the developer was mapping the entire of the United States for GTA 6.
Well, the latest rumor is that GTA 6 is going to be based in Virginia, USA -- and that's not really a rumor, it's more of eagle-eyed GTA fans seeing something in a recent tease from Rockstar on Twitter for a new GTA Online update. Some fans saw a set of GPS coordinates, and so began the hunt.
If you put those GPS coordinates into either Google Maps or Google Earth, you will be dropped at the Middle Mountain Trail, in Virginia, USA. Gamers think that the fan in the road is a clue to GTA 6, but as 'VI' in Roman numerals: VI being 6.

Metro Exodus on PS5, Xbox Series X: higher FPS, ray tracing, 4K res
Metro Exodus is getting massive upgrades on the PS5 and Xbox Series X, including ray tracing and big performance boosts.
Today 4A Games revealed a ton of Metro info including a next-gen re-release of Metro Exodus. We don't know exact perf targets just yet, but expect Exodus on PS5 and Xbox Series X to push each console to their limits--just like Metro games do on PC.
The devs didn't give exact optimizations, but they did confirm Metro Exodus will support ray tracing, 4K resolution upgrades/native textures, higher FPS (possibly up to 120Hz on adaptive sync monitors). The good news is anyone who owns the game on PS4 and Xbox One also gets a free upgrade to the next-gen port (PlayStation 5 owners get to keep both a PS4 and PS5 copy).

Cyberpunk 2077 shouldn't be delayed beyond 2020
CD Projekt RED management tells investors that Cyberpunk 2077 is still on for a Q4 launch. December 10 should be the final release and we shouldn't see any more delays.
In its recent earnings results briefing, CDPR directly states that Cyberpunk 2077's launch will be the biggest part of its Q4 results. This strongly indicates the sci-fi shooter will meet its December launch without any further delays. The report is aimed at investors and analysts, and it's extremely important CDPR conveys clear messaging to return shareholder investments.
"The most important event affecting the Group's earnings in the fourth quarter of 2020 and further on in 2021 will be the release of Cyberpunk 2077, scheduled for 10 December 2020, along with the corresponding peak of the game's marketing campaign," the report states.
