Capcom release Devil May Cry 5 soundtrack on Spotify/Steam
Can't get enough of Capcom's Devil May Cry 5? The official soundtrack for the game has now been made completely available on a range of different platforms.
At the beginning of this month Capcom debuted their latest installment into the Devil May Cry 5 series, Devil May Cry 5. The game has been very well received by the community, and has even had the second best launch on Steam for Capcom, falling behind Monster Hunter: World.
In celebration of the games release, Capcom have decided to release the games soundtrack so fans of the series can enjoy the sweet tunes of Devil May Cry 5 wherever they are. The soundtrack consists of 136 tracks, now that might sound like a lot of tracks but many of them are short instrumentals. Regardless of the length of some tracks, the soundtrack as a whole manages to clock in at around 5 hours in length which is plenty of listening time for Devil May Cry 5 fans. If you would like to check out the Devil May Cry 5 soundtrack, it is available on Spotify, Steam, iTunes, Amazon and Google Play.

Sixth Goku iteration added to Dragon Ball FighterZ
Bandai Namco has decided that they simply can't get enough of one of their favorite mascots, as yet another iteration of Goku will be added to the Dragon Ball FighterZ roster.
At the moment there is already five different playable versions of Goku that are in Dragon Ball FighterZ, so how about one more? Arc System Works seems to agree, as they will soon be adding the Dragon Ball GT version of Kid Goku to the roster. Kid Goku (GT) will be apart of the FighterZ Pass 2 and will be arriving with his very own set of moves so at least he will feel unique.
Just like in the TV show, Kid Goku will be arriving with his very iconic power pole and will be able to unleash the power of the Super Kamehameha, Reverse Kamehameha and Super Ultra Spirit Bomb. The announcement also teases that there is one last secret move that is yet to be revealed. If I was to speculate what this move is, I would assume it would be Kid Goku's ultimate move. What move is it specifically? I think it could either be the 'Dragon Fist' attack that was used on Super Android 17 in the TV show, or the 'penetrate' move that was used on King Piccolo in the original Dragon Ball TV show.

Kotal Kahn gets bodied in his own Mortal Kombat 11 reveal
NetherRealm Studios has released another reveal trailer for the lead up to the debut of Mortal Kombat 11. This time round we have Kotal Kahn going up against Jacqui Briggs, and it doesn't end has you would expect.
The Emperor of Outworld has made an entrance in the above reveal trailer that is titled "Official Kotal Kahn Reveal Trailer". Why mention the videos title? Because Kotal Kahn gets absolutely torn apart by Jacqui Briggs in this reveal trailer, he doesn't even do fatality in his own reveal trailer.
Instead we see Jacqui Briggs kick the living hell out of Kotal Kahn, she does a large selection of moves with many bonebreaking moves and even finishes off Kotal Kahn with an epic fatality. In other news about Mortal Kombat 11, if you happened to miss the character reveal for Kabal catch up on that here. Want more news on Mortal Kombat 11 for the Nintendo Switch, check out this article on the 'geometry reductions' that the Switch version will have here. There is also the possibility that Mortal Kombat 11 will feature cross-play, more on that here.

Epic Games announces $100 million grant program
Epic Games is throwing some serious benjamins around to entice developers from all backgrounds to use Unreal Engine, with the Fortnite creator announcing a new "MegaGrant Program" that really started back in 2015.
Epic CEO Tim Sweeney said this new grant program is a way of giving back to the community in the wake of Fortnite's mega success, with the grant varying between $5000 and $500,000. It's not just about game development either, as Unreal Engine is used in countless fields so the grant program will seed out money to teams who make tools that integrate UE4, such as a CAD program.
Media and entertainment creators that use Unreal Engine can apply, with the same going for students and schools that use UE within their curriculum. Creators keep their IP, as Epic is giving out the money with "no-strings-attached" meaning the company will not have any power over what content comes from its grants.

Smash Bros. Ultimate pro-player storms out of tournament
Now that Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is out and pro-players are starting to get a decent understanding of the games new mechanics, eSport events have begun. As always, with competitive play some controversy can follow.
Last weekend there was the Smash regional Colloision 2019 tournament in New Jersey. Smash Bros. pro players Tyler "Marss" Martins and Justin "Wishes" Magnetti went head to head in winners side of the bracket to decide who would take a spot in finals. Throughout the match Marss seemed to become annoyed at the heckling from the crowd, and even stood up to say something. Shortly after the next stop the pro-player got up and walked away from the game, which resulted in Wishes just knocking Marss off the edge.

Unreal Engine 4 ray tracing tech demo 'Troll' teased at GDC
Epic Games is having the time of its life at the Game Developers Conference this year, unveiling the future of Unreal Engine with what seems like the closest we've been to photo-realistic graphics in Unreal Engine yet. The new 'Troll' short film was debuted at GDC 2019, which you can check out below:
Troll is a new short film from Goodbye Kansas and Deep Forest Films and features a Shrek-like princess in all-CG powered by Unreal Engine, with Epic's first debut of its new physics engine. We're looking at full real-time graphics here with real-time ray tracing, cinematic-quality lighting, soft shadows, and reflections all being done on Unreal Engine.
All of this is powered by a single NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2080 Ti graphics card which is impressive, too. This is a short film and not a game, so don't expect a huge world from what we're seeing here, but to run cinematic-quality graphics like this in real-time on a single graphics card is damn good.

Fortnite now has over 250 million registered players
If you thought Respawn's surprise release of Apex Legends affected Fortnite in any way, you'd be wrong. Epic Games announced at GDC 2019 that Fortnite is now home to over 250 million registered players, up 50 million players from December's milestone of 200 million.
Epic also announced that Fortnite reached another milestone in having 10.8 million concurrent players at once, up from 10.7 million. Epic boss Tim Sweeney explains: "It's a real game. It's a shooter. It's worldwide. It's the first shooter with a huge female population. Somebody estimated it at roughly 35 percent, which is unprecedented--why isn't it 50?--but it's unprecedented for anything like this. It's because it brings together players in a social experience".

Carmageddon was such a mega smash hit when it launched in the 90s and now its developer Stainless Games has announced its latest IP, something that is similar to its 90s hit in that its a vehicle-based multiplayer game that centers around destruction and all-out chaos: ShockRods.

Xbox will 'go big' with streaming at E3 2019
Google might've changed gaming forever by ushering its new Stadia game streaming platform, but Microsoft is set to one-up the tech giant with its own Project xCloud.
Following Google's first strike in the Cloud Wars, Microsoft is biding its time with a streaming fusillade of its own. The home of Xbox is preparing its own ambitious "Netflix for games" cloud streaming service called Project xCloud, which will use its potent webwork of Xbox LIVE and live services to beam games to consumers' phones, desktops/laptops, and consoles. While Google has YouTube, Microsoft has its own strengths with its huge Xbox LIVE engagement ecosystem, and it plans to leverage this might to the fullest.
E3 2019 will be Microsoft's time in the lime light, and Xbox division head Phil Spencer hints the company will showcase its own Project xCloud streaming service en masse at the event. "Google went big today and we have a couple of months until E3 when we will go big," Spencer said in an internal memo published by Thurrot.

No, Disney won't make its own Star Wars games
Disney has seemingly resurrected Lucasfilm Games, an old label dating before LucasArts. But it's not what you think.
New job openings for Lucasfilm Games have sent some mixed signals. Gamers and industry reporters think this means Disney could start making its own games again, namely Star Wars titles, but this isn't the case. The seven jobs in question aren't for game developers, but for producers, marketing specialists, and brand coordinators--all the people who serve as administrative gatekeepers and manage, review, and approve the content, not actually create it.
These jobs are for the very same gatekeepers that made Star Wars games development so difficult. While working on titles like Star Wars 1313, Visceral's cancelled Project Ragtag game, and even EA Vancouver's scrapped big open-world game, developers had to run their ideas through middlemen at Lucasfilm. Every little decision would have to be approved by administrators (and before Disney bought Star Wars, George Lucas himself) before it made it into a game build. And often times these additions wouldn't even release in the final game.

Cuphead coming to Switch with Xbox LIVE integration
Some of Microsoft's key first-party indies are coming to the Nintendo's handheld-console hybrid with Xbox LIVE integration, but this doesn't mean Game Pass will follow.
At GDC 2019, Microsoft today confirmed Cuphead is coming to Nintendo Switch with Xbox LIVE features. Studio MDHR will use the new Xbox Game Stack toolset to migrate undisclosed Xbox LIVE functionality to the Switch port (we'll likely see cross-play, friends lists, and achievements arrive). The Xbox online platform will be introduced in a post-launch update following the game's Switch release on April 28, 2019.
"Growing out of these recent discussions, we are partnering with Studio MDHR to investigate bringing Xbox Live features beyond Xbox and PC to Nintendo Switch," reads a post on the Xbox Wire.

Obsidian's new Outer Worlds skips Steam
During today's Unreal GDC 2019 livestream, Epic Games revealed a host of new exclusives coming to the Epic Store that won't be available on Steam for a year. Games like Obsidian's upcoming FPS RPG The Outer Worlds, which was on Steam's storefront for months after its reveal, are now marked for the Epic Store instead of Steam. The Outer Worlds will launch on the Windows 10 storefront, though, and being published by Take-Two's new Private Division label.
Remedy's ambitious new sci-horror shooter IP Control is another big one crossing over (it too has been on Steam for a long while). We know Remedy is making another game outside of Control, and this too could be on the Epic Store. This move kind of feels like a bait-and-switch: most of these games have been pre-orderable on Steam and will instead jump to a competing platform (like Metro: Exodus).
Quantic Dreams traded one exclusivity deal for another. PC ports of its upcoming once PlayStation-exclusive games Heavy Rain, Beyond Two Souls, and Detroit: Become Human are all Epic Store exclusives.

Witcher 4 may be CD Projekt RED's next game
CD Projekt RED's next major AAA game should be set in the Witcher RPG series, the developer reiterates.
Back in 2016, CD Projekt RED outlined a new five-year plan that sees Cyberpunk 2077 and a big new AAA RPG both released by 2021. As of March 2018, that plan is still in place.
The studio is only working with two IPs, Cyberpunk and The Witcher, and there's no reason to speculate further, CD Projekt RED President Adam Kicinski said in a Pareto Securities stream from 2018.

Strong sales cement Anthem in EA's playbook
Anthem has a lot of problems. It's a wonky service game with tedious mechanics that've upset many players, but that didn't stop it from topping sales charts in the UK, Japan, and the United States.
Today analyst firm NPD Group confirmed Anthem was the best-selling game in February 2019 across digital and physical releases, and was actually the second biggest title in BioWare's history behind Mass Effect 3. Anthem also ranks number two on 2019's total year-to-date earnings, only being beaten out by Kingdom Hearts III (this only includes two months of the current year, though).
"Anthem launches as the best-selling game of February, helping overall industry sales increase 4% vs year ago to $1 billion," NPD's Mat Piscatella said.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider FINALLY receives RTX/DLSS patch
It was close to 6 months ago that NVIDIA first showed off the gorgeous RTX features for Shadow of the Tomb Raider, and now in March 2019 we're finally getting an update to the game that provides these features.
A new update is being pushed out for Shadow of the Tomb Raider that adds both RTX shadows and DLSS technologies into the game. You'll need the very latest version of the game, the very latest version of Windows 10, and the GeForce 419.35 or higher drivers to get it working. The developer notes: "While we expect this patch to be an improvement for everyone, if you do have trouble with this patch and prefer to stay on the old version, we have made a Beta available on Steam, Build 279, that can be used to switch back to the previous version"
There's a surprise here remember, since NVIDIA only just yesterday announced that RTX abilities will now work on previous-gen GeForce GTX series graphics cards with a new driver dropping next month. This means you'll be able to enjoy some RTX/DLSS abilities in Shadow of the Tomb Raider with a GTX 10/16 series graphics card.
