Following the huge next-gen first-party showcase in July, Microsoft will finally unveil the Xbox Series S at a special event in August. The news comes after a rather muted month of Xbox news in June. Microsoft had previously planned to reveal new tidbits every month for the rest of 2020, but instead of revealing anything in June, Microsoft focused on reiterating next-gen hardware info.
While Microsoft has yet to announce the Xbox Series S, we've been able to piece together info from reports stemming from 2018. The Xbox Series S (codenamed Lockhart) may release in 2020 to complement its beefier, more expensive older brother, the Xbox Series X. Microsoft is positioning Lockhart as the Xbox One S version of the next console generation.

LiDAR data from 2020 iPad Pro is being sent to Apple says analyst
One significant update to the 2020 iPad Pro was the inclusion of Apple's A12Z chipset for LiDAR. The LiDAR data the iPad Pro is gathering has been reported in the past by analyst Jon Prosser to not be all about the iPad itself. The data being collected is rumored to be used in the Apple Glass product for enhanced AR.
According to a recent leak, Apple intends to make a big push in the AR segment with its Apple Glass. The AR glasses are said to make use of data from its own integrated LiDAR sensor. It remains unclear if the iPad Pro is sending any AR data back to Apple to be used in the Apple Glass product in the future.
Apple is rumored to launch the Apple Glass AR device in 2021, meaning we are a ways out from real information on Glass. Apple has promoted the LiDAR scanner inside the iPad Pro for AR applications in the past. That capability allows users to overlay virtual objects with physical objects in their environment.

Diablo II turns 20 today, will Blizzard do anything special?
Blizzard commemorates Diablo II's 20th birthday but it just doesn't feel all that special.
Diablo II, one of the best games Blizzard has ever made, was launched 20 years ago today. Over two decades the game has fostered an immortal legacy that's inspired all of today's modern aRPG hits, from Path of Exile and Grim Dawn to Minecraft Dungeons. Sadly Blizzard has missed a golden opportunity to do something big for the game's 2-0 celebration.
Blizzard's way of celebrating Diablo II's 20th anniversary isn't with an in-game event, or a special occasion in Diablo III. The devs are basically relying on the existing D2 community to provide livestreams while also doing a few token things. There's also a cosmetic item in Diablo III and a fireside chat-style chat down memory lane that has a nice sentiment, but really isn't enough. They're even trying to sell you merch.

Best Buy offers $100 off the Lenovo C340 Chromebook
Anyone starting to gear up for the back-to-school season, which will be here before you know it, needing a new laptop, might want to check out a Chromebook. Chromebook's typically have plenty of power for typical computing tasks that are performed in the office, at home, and school, while costing significantly less money. Lenovo has a nice Chromebook called the C340 that is a 15.6-in touch-screen two-in-one Chromebook.
Normally the machine sells for $449, but right now, Best Buy has it on sale with $100 discount bringing the price to $349. For the money, you get an Intel Pentium Gold processor, 4GB of RAM, and 64GB of flash storage. The screen is a larger 15.6-inch unit giving plenty of space.
The two-in-one design means the screen can fold back, and it can be used as a tablet. The Intel Pentium Gold processor is the 4417U model number operating at 2.3 GHz. Since the machine is a Chromebook, it runs Chrome OS (obviously). Other than low cost, another big benefit of a Chromebook is long battery life, and the C430 certainly delivers on that.
