Stadia's games lineup isn't data cap friendly
Stadia has a lot of big AAA blockbusters and live service games, which are great for dedicated consoles and PCs, but not for online-only streaming.
Bandwidth is one of the biggest concerns about Google's new Stadia game-streaming platform, whether it be latency or in-game lag or data usage. Stadia beams games wirelessly from Google servers to Chromecast Ultras, laptops, desktops, and even Pixel 3 phones, using local internet connections as a conduit for play. But that data adds up real fast, and a study shows Stadia will quickly smash monthly data caps. This issue is exacerbated by Stadia's games lineup, which consists of some of the biggest time-sinks in the entire industry.
How much data Stadia eats up depends on how long you play. But how long you play in turn depends on what you play. Right now Stadia isn't matched up with games that respect your time or your data--and some, like Destiny 2 and Borderlands 3--are big investments on both regards. Stadia's launch lineup includes some of the most gigantic grindy games on the market today.

League of Legends console, mobile version announced, isn't a port
The reports were right: League of Legends is making the jump to mobile as well as consoles in 2020.
Today Riot Games announced League of Legends: Wild Rift, a separate version of their massively popular MOBA that's designed specifically for Android, iOS, and consoles.
Wild Rift is free-to-play, and mirrors the PC version with 5v5 competitive play with twin-stick controls, all set in a new Rift map. The game will be streamlined and more accessible for players with shorter 15-20 minute matches and more intuitive controls, but Riot says it's "not a port of the PC game." Wild Rift was built from scratch and optimized for consoles and on-the-go smartphones and tablets.

Riot Games announces competitive first-person shooter 'Project A'
League of Legends developer Riot Games has just announced it is working on a new competitive first-person shooter codenamed 'Project A', and is begin worked on by a new team within Riot.
It has nothing to do with League of Legends and marks the first time Riot Games has made something outside of the League of Legends universe. There's virtually nothing known about Project A right now, other than executive producer Anna Donlon teasing during the livestream: "We've put anti-cheat at the forefront of our development, and we will do whatever it takes to preserve the integrity of your matches".
What we do know about Project A is that it is a character-based tactical shooter that seems to blend the worlds of Overwatch and CS:GO together, with Riot teasing that Project A is based on an near-future Earth. Riot explained: "The game is set on a beautiful near-future Earth and has a lethal cast of characters, each with unique abilities that create tactical opportunities for their gunplay to shine".

Terry Bogard is 'almost ready to brawl' in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
The release of the newest fighter to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is almost upon us, and to tease fans just that much more Nintendo Versus has said that he is "almost ready" to join the battle.
Above we have the tweet from the Nintendo Versus official Twitter page and from the tweet we can see some footage of Terry Bogard in battle using a selection of different abilities. The flame move where Terry throws flame onto the floor could possibly be his Down-B, and the next move we see where he charges Marth could be his Side-B. This is pure speculation at this point and definitely not confirmed, but after a long history playing Smash Bros. these moves seem representative of the controller inputs.
The tweet also says that Terry will be arriving in November, which is just half a month away. 'When' in November is another question, but if I was to estimate a release date for the character I would say at the start of November since the last fighter to join the roster (Banjo-Kazooie) was released on the 5th of September. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is currently available on the Nintendo Switch. If you are yet to get the Fighters Pass for Smash Ultimate, head on over to Nintendo website here to purchase it.

Rumor: Nintendo Direct Nov 13, Crash Bandicoot for Smash Bros Ultimate
A new rumor has hit the internet regarding when Nintendo are planning on having their next Nintendo Direct.
Firstly, this rumor is merely a 4Chan post by someone who is going by 'Anonymous'. Before I get into this rumor, I just want to say that NONE of the following information has been confirmed by Nintendo at all. Moving on, the rumor says that Nintendo will host their next Nintendo Direct on November 13th and that this Direct will focus on Pokemon Sword & Shield, Animal Crossing: New Horizons and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
For the purpose of this article, I will be primarily focusing and breaking down the rumored Super Smash Bros. Ultimate news. According to the rumor, the Direct will begin with a beach and a TNT crate, then Crash Bandicoot will appear and be announced as the final fighter in the first Fighters Pass. The rumor then continues to suggest that Terry Bogard will then be on display for a short period of time, and then he will be made available that same day for download.

Joker movie climbs box office charts, pushing $200 million in 11 days
Joker continues to be a massive hit in the box office as recent reports have indicated that the controversial movie has already surpassed the $200 million mark in its second weekend.
The DC Film raked in another $8.4 million from domestic theaters on Monday which pushes the 11-day domestic total past $200 million to a precise $201.99 million. Just over the weekend, Joker already set a new record in the box office, earning $55 million and creaming movie projections that expected it to only reach $40 million.
Joker also cracked the opening weekend record with $96 million, previously the record was set by Venom that debuted at $80 million. Joker also broke Venom's October Friday box office record by raking in $39.8 million in its first day in theaters. If you haven't seen Joker yet, I cannot recommend the movie enough. If you are planning on going to see the film, I recommend that you go into it by taking out any previous thought that the movie is about comic book characters. The film is instead about the slow decline of a persons mental health, and how much a persons mentality can take before their mindset becomes that of the Joker.

NASA has debuted a new press release that details that some changes are coming to the spacewalk schedule that is going to happen aboard the International Space Station (ISS).
At 4:30pm today, NASA will be hosting a media conference that will be streamed on their website. Throughout this conference, Kenny Todd, manager of International Space Station Operations Integration, and Megan McArthur, deputy chief of NASA's Astronaut Office will be taking live questions about the recent changes that have been put in place regarding the spacewalk scheduling. For those out of the loop, NASA and the astronauts aboard the ISS are upgrading the space station's power system through replacing old batteries with new ones, more on that here.
The space station managers have decided to postpone three spacewalks that were previously planned to be executed this week and next week. Here's why, according to the press release "Space station managers have postponed three spacewalks previously scheduled for this and next week to install new batteries in order to first replace a faulty battery charge/discharge unit (BCDU)". Yeah, you can go FISHING in Fortnite's new Chapter 2
So, Epic Games deleted Fortnite and threw the entire game into a black hole and pretty much removed it from the internet -- to return with a bang in Chapter 2. Fortnite Chapter 2 has a bunch of things going on, but one of the more interesting things is that you can now go fishing in the game.
If you and your friends want to go fishing in Fortnite, you'll first need to secure yourself a fishing rod. After that, you'll need to go to a nearby lake or beach (you know, somewhere with water) but there are better places than others. There will be a bunch of bubbles around that indicates where you might get a good catch, but what will you find once you throw your fishing line into the water?
Well, you'll get a bundle of materials, a random weapon, a Flopper, or a Slurpfish. Right now, Fortnite is throwing out a bunch of Epic-level weapons when you find a mystery weapon by fishing, while the Flopper and Slurpfish can both be used as healing items.

Ryan Reynolds trolls Marvel over Deadpool 3 coming to the MCU
Disney has been slowly acquiring what feels like every single company in the world, with the gigantic company owning both Marvel Studios and Fox -- and now Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds is doing what he does best: trolling.
Reynolds posted a new photo up on his personal Instagram when he visited Marvel Studios, where he said he auditioned for the role of Anthony Stark, before he was escorted from the building. The news could be leading right into Deadpool entering the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but if Deadpool does, it most likely won't be until we see Phase 5.
Deadpool wasn't included in any of Marvel Studios' recent teases of Phase 4, but if he was it's not like the studio (nor Disney) would allow that news to break before it was ready and all those contracts and NDAs were signed. Reynolds is as I said at the start of the article, doing what he does best... and that is being just like his alter-ego in Deadpool, and trolling the world.

OpenAI shows one-handed robot solve a Rubik's cube
We all know our days are numbered, with our AI and robotic overlords planning to overthrow humanity at some point in the future... and it all seems like it'll begin with a Rubik's Cube.
AI research organization OpenAI have been hard at work building a general purpose, self-learning robot with its robotics division Dactyl unveiling its humanoid robotic hand in 2018 -- which is now being used to solve a Rubik's cube in less than 4 minutes flat. OpenAI is working on a number of different robotic parts with its in-house AI software, with this robotic arm just one of those.
Dactyl stumbles, but eventually solves the Rubik's cube -- with the team having a goal of seeing their AI-powered robotic appendages working on real-world tasks. Their robots packed with AI can learn real-world things, and won't need to be specifically programmed. This means that Dactyl is a self-learning robotic hand that looks at new tasks just like you and I would.

XFX Radeon RX 5500 THICC II leaked with single 8-pin power connector
AMD announced its Radeon RX 5500 series recently, but now it appears that XFX is the first with a custom Radeon RX 5500 graphics card in the form of the new THICC II.
XFX's upcoming Radeon RX 5500 THICC II should roll out with a single 8-pin PCIe power connector, drops the awesome-looking grill that the Radeon RX 5700 XT THICC II Ultra sported, and uses a full-black design. It still looks great, with a black shark fin design in place of the car grill-style of the RX 5700 XT THICC II Ultra.
Interestingly, XFX is providing 2 x DVI-D ports (AMD doesn't even include a single DVI port on its RX 5500 series reference design) as well as a single DP and single HDMI connector.

World of Tanks enCore RT demo: ray traced shadows on ALL DX11 GPUs
Remember when I reported about World of Tanks and its impending ray tracing technology on all DX11-class GPUs? Well, the new World of Tanks enCore RT demo is here for gamers to try out. Wargaming has also got a new developer diary video covering it all:
Wargaming worked with Intel on this new update, with the enCore RT update made through Intel's own Embree library (which is part of OneAPI) and is compatible with every single DX11-capable graphics card on the market. The developer says that the performance of enCore RT will be as good or better than the ray tracing implementations we've seen so far on GeForce RTX hardware -- but it's only ray tracing SHADOWS here, so calm your farm, Wargaming.
In an email sent out to the press, Wargaming explains: "World of Tanks enCore RT is a demo app which allows to assess the effect that the RT tech has on the game, and also to check whether your system is capable of using it correctly. As we speak, every tanker can install the demo app on their PC and grade their system's RT tech capabilities".

Google Pixel 4 & Pixel 4 XL: 90Hz display, and oh-so-much more
Google has finally unveiled its new Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL smartphones, crammed with the latest and greatest features and while the internal specs don't make the new Pixel 4 family the fastest, that has never mattered for Pixel smartphones.
Starting with the specs, Google bakes in the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC, 6GB of RAM, 64/128GB storage options, and all USB-C so once again no headphone jack and no microSD card slot. The bigger differences between the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL are in the display sizes and resolutions, and the changes between the batteries.
Google has opted for smoother 90Hz displays on both of the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL smartphones, and while the faster 90Hz refresh rate will chew down battery faster than 60Hz, you can toggle between 60/90Hz on the new handsets. As for the screen sizes, the Pixel 4 has a 5.7-inch panel while the larger Pixel 4 XL rolls out with a 6.3-inch display -- both at up to 90Hz.
