Sex robots with 'consent modules' being made for ethical sex robots
The world of sex robots is an interesting one where I've previously reported that sex robots with "coding errors" could strangle, and kill you in the act -- but now let's move into the design of "ethical" sex robots.
These ethical sex robots will have to provide their partner with consent before they have sex, with university researchers from Australia and the Netherlands seeing a future where "consent modules" will be used in sex robots. These consent modules would require the sex robot to give consent before sex.
Anco Peeters of Australia's University of Wollongong and Pim Haselager, an associate professor at The Netherlands' Radboud University recently published an article that talked about a future where "ethical" sex robots were a thing. The research article explains: "We propose that virtue ethics can be used to address ethical issues central to discussions about sex robots. In particular, we argue virtue ethics is well equipped to focus on the implications of sex robots for human moral character. Our evaluation develops in four steps".

Matrix 4 adds Neil Patrick Harris to its cast
The Matrix 4 will surely be one of the most-hyped movies ever, with returning franchise stars in Keanu Reeves and Carrie-Anne Moss being joined by How I Met Your Mother star Neil Patrick Harris.
Variety has the scoop on Harris joining The Matrix 4, with no details on what role he will have in the movie. The Matrix 4 will be directed by the Wachowskis once again, while Aleksandar Hemon and David Mitchell co-wrote the script with Lana Wachowski (who will be the director of The Matrix 4).
Harris has been in plenty of big movies but nothing like The Matrix franchise, with my favorite role of Harris over the years definitely being Starship Troopers. He also starred in David Fincher's Gone Girl alongside Ben Affleck in an impressive, and creepy role. This news was so awesome I had to go off and make my own meme for it.

Fortnite Chapter 2: New island, bandage bazooka, hideouts and more
Following its huge cosmic apocalypse, Fortnite has been completely reset with Chapter 2.
Fortnite Chapter 2 is now live and the battle royale sensation is back online, bringing a bunch of new content. Chapter 2 takes place on a new island with 13 locales, all of which have different biomes. There's the tropical beach by the coast, and industrial zone to the north east, a more arid dryland in the east, and the frosty mountainous highlands to the south east.
Big additions include new vehicles like boats. Players can zoom around across waterways and rivers on battleboats, and up to four users can jump in and unleash havoc on foes on land or by sea.

Stadia launches November 19, but not for everyone
Google's new Stadia game streaming service launches in November 19, but only if you bought the $129 Founder's Edition.
New online-only game streaming service Stadia is set to launch in November, but there's some stipulations. Not everyone will get to jump in, and you won't get to play Stadia for free until 2020. You'll only get to play on November 19 if you bought the Stadia Founder's or Premiere Editions. Things get a big complicated from here.
Stadia's free version isn't launching until 2020, so the November launch is exclusively for paid Stadia Pro members. Stadia Pro costs $10 a month and gives you one free game a month along with discounts on all games. Subscribers still have to buy games separately from Stadia's storefront, but Destiny 2's full game is included with the $129 Founder's Edition.

PCI Express 6.0 spec reaches rev 0.3, final due in 2021, up to 256GB/s
While it is still a while before we would ever see this on a consumer-level system, it is worth noting that PCI-SIG has announced PCIe 6.0 is already at Rev 0.3.
PCIe 4.0 is just now showing its face on consumer-based systems, and that is after a very long runway for PCIe 3.0 spec. PCI-SIG wants to avoid the kind of long delay like we saw with PCIe 3.0 to 4.0. Many of you may ask why, as modern gaming systems barely can see a benefit from PCIe 4.0 as it is. Well, PCIe, which works excellent for GPUs and now SSD's interface, is used for far more bandwidth-intensive systems such as HPC clusters or large supercomputers. This is where the new spec will be the most needed.
The 6.0 spec should be complete by 2021, according to PCI-SIG, as long as everything goes well. But that does not mean that consumer boards will suddenly be at PCIe 6.0, this all takes time. Sometimes generations of products are needed to get I/O hubs sorted and interfaces laid out to support not just the speed but signal integrity concerns.

Halo 6 is fine, 343i says don't worry about development
Following multiple departures of high-profile developers, Gamers are concerned about Halo 6. But there's more to the story, and 343 Industries says everything's on track.
Halo: Infinite (aka Halo 6) sounds like the most ambitious Halo game to date. It aims to capture the sci-fi mystique of the original FPS while deliver high-end graphics and performance on Microsoft's next-gen Project Scarlett console. It'll be a feast for the eyes, and more importantly for Microsoft, it'll tap right into live service engagement with lots of online content.
But how's development faring? With more than a year left to finish the game, 343i has been understandably quiet, leaving gamers to extrapolate info from industry trends. One of these trends is departures. First Halo: Infinite creative director Tim Longo left 343i, prompting worry from the Halo faithful (myself included). Now that worry has been kicked up a notch as producer Mary Olson, who was supposed to take charge of Halo 6's campaign team, leaves the project.

Tim Cook tries to explain why Apple kowtowed to China with app removal
Apple has been met with some well-deserved scrutiny with its recent assumed kowtowing to the Chinese government.
Apple has been targeted as being subservient to China in favor of sales over the freedom of users. Apple, in a controversial move, removed an app called HKmap.live, which was used by protestors of China's oppressive tactics to coordinate demonstrations and resistance to Chinese authoritarian rule.
The app works like other geolocation and mapping apps we have seen on mobile. The app allows users to set emojis in areas to signify police or other protest locations where they could congregate and coordinate with other protestors.

1.5 Million Threads! AMD-powered Archer 2 with 12,000 EPYC Rome CPUs
There has been tons of news around AMD's new 7nm, and Intels fight to retain market share over the past months. Today this article is all AMD as they worked with CRAY to create something truly insane.
UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) has once again contracted the team at CRAY to build their follow-up to the Archer supercomputer. Archer 2 is reported to offer up to 11x the throughput of the previous Archer supercomputer put into service back in late 2013.
Archer 2 is going to be powered by 12,000 EPYC Rome 64 Core CPUs with 5,848 compute nodes, each having two of the 64 core behemoths. The total core count is 748,544 ( 1,497,088 threads) and 1.57PB for the entire system. The CPU speed is listed as 2.2GHz, which we must assume they are running off of the base clock, so that would be EPYC 7742 CPUs with a 225W TDP. These sorts of specs are insane but also will make some significant heat. Archer 2 will be cooled by 23 Shasta Mountain direct liquid cooling and associated liquid cooling cabinets. The back end for connectivity is Cray's next-gen slingshot 100Gbps network compute groups.

Facebook locking out users who report scammers and fake profiles
Facebook users have dealt with multitudes of scams and fake profiles over the years.
Some of these things users have dealt with are messages from friends who had already been compromised. Most of these end up direct messaging you a link to compromise you as well To all together scam or fake profiles. Fake profiles can range from a loved one who had passed to even someone you are already friends with. As it turns out, there is a new bug (or feature?) on Facebook where users are reporting a scam or fake profile and being locked out of their accounts.
This was brought up by several news reporting sites but most notable is to simply follow the hashtag #FacebookLockout and see for yourself.

Runescape makes $10 million every month, analyst firm says
Runescape shows no signs of slowing down, raking in millions every month from memberships, microtransactions, and passes.

League of Legends mobile may be a card game or MOBA (or both?)
Riot Games will announce a new League of Legends mobile game during its big 10th anniversary event, but there's some conflicting reports on what it'll be.
A League of Legends mobile game has been in the works for a while now. Now fully owned by Chinese titan Tencent, Riot must diversify into gaming's biggest billion-dollar market (mobile gaming) to chase Tencent's never-ending thirst for revenues. But there's a few ways it could do this.
Sources tell esports consultant Rod Breslau that Riot will unveil a new collectible card game called Legends of Runeterra for mobile. No details were announced yet of course, but expect it to be like Elder Scrolls Legends, Gwent, and of course MTG Arena.

New Rockstar games confirmed in development by indie studio
Indie studio Ruffian Games confirms Rockstar is working on multiple new titles, which could include Grand Theft Auto 6 and Bully 2.
A Rockstar dev recently confirmed the studio is working on multiple new unannounced projects. Now an indie dev reinforces these claims with new job listings.
Like most big game developers that work on huge multi-year projects, Rockstar outsources a portion of its games development to independent developers. In this case Ruffian Games, the team who's responsible for remasters and is also helping make Halo: MCC on PC, has stepped in to help with Rockstar's next titles. Ruffian is currently hiring for seven high-profile engineer jobs ranging from UI to graphics and even a multiplayer systems specialist (likely for GTA 6's online portion).

Player spends $150,000 on a mobile Transformers game
Instead of buying a house or a dream car, one big-pocketed gamer spent over $150,000 on a mobile Transformers game. Yes, really.
Mobile games are juggernaut bread-winners that rake in hundreds of millions every year. Reliant almost universally on in-game microtransactions, these games monetize every part of the experience. The idea is the same as coin-op arcades: Want to keep playing? Stick in another quarter. One quarter becomes four, four becomes 16, and before you know you've spent $150,000 on digital items.
That's what one "whale" (the term used to describe big spenders on microtransactions) did in Transformers: Earth Wars, an online-only RTS-style mobile game. According to Earth Wars publisher Yodo1, someone spent over $150,000 on microtransactions in the game. That's over double the massive $62,000 spent on Runescape. The big reason to spend is to make it easier to unlock new Transformers, making the mobile game into a kind of old-school collect-them-all toy scheme.

Blizzard explains reluctance in bringing Overwatch to Switch
At first Blizzard wrote off the Nintendo Switch, but with Diablo III the studio became a believer. And now the Overwatch team has fully embraced the platform thanks to its surprising versatility.
Overwatch is coming to Switch as a digital-only game. With over 36 million units sold, the Switch is hard to ignore, and remains a lucrative re-release and remaster platform. Although that wasn't always the case, and some devs like Blizzard shrugged the system off for a while. But Blizzard's decision isn't all about the Switch's install base--the platform has some distinct advantages, like transforming to and from a console to a handheld.
Now Blizzard's Overwatch team discusses why they've changed their minds on the Switch. For one, they can monetize players on-the-go thanks to the Switch's portability. And two, they can utilize extras like intuitive gyroscopic motion controls for immersive aiming when playing portably or docked at home.

Henry Cavill prepared for The Witcher TV series by playing the games
Netflix's upcoming Witcher TV series has got both gamers and fans of the book series waiting on the edge of their seats. While both gamers and the book readers are prepared, no one was more prepared then Henry Cavill for the role of Geralt of Rivia.
According to a recent interview with French magazine Premiere, Cavill said that even before the casting for the show begun, he was living and breathing The Witcher universe as truly means something to him. The Reddit translation from the interview reads as follows; "I discovered the games, then I discovered the books, and the universe of The Witcher instantly meant something to me. I often thought about playing Geralt. When the opportunity appeared, I didn't let the chance pass me. I asked my agent to meet Lauren as soon as possible... I didn't even have the need to prepare myself for the role."
You might wonder why Cavill was already prepared for the role, this was because throughout his completion of The Witcher games, he was able to spend a considerable amount of time fleshing out the character Geralt. Cavill says he understands the role "Because I breathe, I live this universe every day. I already got numerous opportunities to think about this character while I was playing the games. My preparation was already made before the casting started." The Witcher TV show is expected to release later this year.

Martin Scorsese says Marvel Films aren't cinema 'It's something else'
Legendary movie director, Martin Scorsese recently gave his opinion on how massive comic book movies such as the Marvel Cinematic franchise has affected cinema. Lets just say Mr. Scorsese isn't thrilled about the idea.
He spoke out at a press conference this past Sunday accompanied by Robert De Niro and Al Pacino, for the closing-night screening for his upcoming movie 'The Irishman'. The director compared today's theater expereince to that of an "amusement park" and called for cinemas to "step up and show films that are narrative films".
Scorsese went on to say that Marvel films are "not cinema" and that "We shouldn't be invaded by it. Theaters have become amusement parks. That is all fine and good but don't invade everything else in that sense. That is fine and good for those who enjoy that type of film and, by the way, knowing what goes into them now, I admire what they do. It's not my kind of thing, it simply is not. It's creating another kind of audience that thinks cinema is that."

Reddit posts can now be directly shared to Snapchat stories & friends
Snapchat want users to be able to easily share Reddit content with their user-base, as their new update to the sharing options on Reddit will allow users to distribute content to their snap-followers with a couple of button presses.
For this new feature to work, users must have both the Snapchat and Reddit app installed on their iOS or Android device. Reddit users will then be able to select the "share" button on a Reddit post and then find Snapchat. If Snapchat is selected, Snapchat's camera will be pulled up and here is where users will be able to decide whether or not to share the Reddit story with a select amount of users or add it to the Snapchat story.
According to Vaibhav Sahgal, Reddit's head of growth product, "Snapchat is the first platform partner with whom we're testing a content sharing integration, and we're excited to see how the feature will shape the sharing habits and experiences among our users." At the moment, the sharing option on Reddit is limited to 'safe-for-work' subedits and is only available on iOS. The feature should be rolled out to Android devices at a later date.

That reddish interstellar visitor isn't what we thought it would be
Astronomers that have been observing the comet that arrived in our solar system from deep space, discovered that the comet is much more ordinary than first expected.
Sometimes space discoveries aren't all celebrations, as sometimes what was expected to be found is a bit more ordinary than originally thought. This is one of those times, as amateur astronomer, Gennady Borisov found back in late August a comet from deep space which was then named 2I/Borisov. This comet was the second interstellar object ever found to enter our solar system, and as astronomers studied its qualities it has been found to be quite the ordinary comet.
A team led by Piotr Guzik at Jagiellonian University in Krakow, Poland maned the telescopes at the Canary Islands and Hawaii to observe the visitor further. What they found is that the comet has a reddish color with a fuzzy tail extending from its 2-kilometre-wide nucleus. The team found that the comet is more normal than once thought, and is extremely similar to the comets that are currently floating around our sun. Astronomers will continue to study 21/Borisov as its trajectory is will closely approach the sun on the 8th of December. After that it will continue outwards to the edges of our solar system.
