Cyberpunk 2077 won't be fixed on consoles until March
Cyberpunk 2077's second big update won't release in February, and has been delayed to the second half of March, CD Projekt RED today announced.
Right now CDPR is being hit on all sides: They're getting sued from angry investors, gamers are still upset and Cyberpunk 2077 is still off the PS Store, and the studio just suffered a recent cyber attack that saw source code being auctioned off to the highest bidder.
As a result of these stressors, Cyberpunk 2077's Patch 1.2 update has been pushed back. The update now has a targeted release date of the second half of March, but even that's not a guarantee.

Watch NASA's rover land in HD, and its first 360 view of Mars surface
If you happened to miss the news, NASA officially touched down on Mars with its Perseverance rover last week.
Last week, NASA landed its Perseverance rover and Ingenuity helicopter on the surface of the Red Planet, and now we have a video posted to Bloomberg Technology YouTube channel of the rover landing on the surface. The video can be found below.
Now, the Perseverance rover has captured its first 360-degree view of the Red Planet's surface where it landed. NASA explained that the video was captured with the rover's color Navigation Cameras, or "Navcams". For those that don't know, Perseverance is equipped with 19 cameras located all over the rover, which makes Perseverance the most equipped Mars rover to date when it comes to cameras. For more information on this story, visit this link here.

Qualcomm launches AR smart viewer reference design specifications
Qualcomm today announced the Snapdragon XR1 AR Smart Viewer reference design, which will help hardware designers create powerful AR smart glasses for the consumer and enterprise markets.
Qualcomm's new AR Smart Viewer reference design is based on the company's Snapdragon XR1 platform. But unlike the XR1 VR reference design, which places the processing power inside the headset, the AR Smart Viewer reference requires an XR1 powered host device to do the heavy lifting.
AR smart viewers differ from AR simple viewers in that they include onboard processing hardware. AR simple viewers entirely rely on the tethered host device to handle the processing. AR smart viewers split the processing load between the host device and the viewer device. Qualcomm said this approach not only increases performance but also reduces overall power consumption.

Crytek's The Climb 2 coming to Quest next week
The Climb 2 is about to drop, marking Crytek's return to VR development. Oculus announced that the game would be available on March 4.
In 2016, Crytek released The Climb as a launch title for the Oculus Rift. A few months later, the company launched Robinson: The Journey on PSVR. We haven't seen a VR game from Crytek since. Until now.
Throughout 2016, the year consumer VR hit the market, Crytek struggled to pay its bills and its staff. At the end of the year, an investment from the Turkish government kept the company afloat, but the small install base kept Crytek from experimenting further with VR. After Oculus released the Quest, Crytek ported The Climb to the mobile VR system. Since then, the company built a full sequel to the VR rock climbing game.

Sony to reveal new PS5 games during State of Play stream this Thursday
Sony announced a new PS5-powered PlayStation VR headset today, and in two days it'll showcase new PS4 and PS5 games.
A new State of Play is scheduled for this Thursday, February 25 at 5PM EST, and the 30-minute show will highlight 10 games coming to PlayStation. The event will stream a mix of new reveals and already-announced games across the AAA and indie spectrum, including both PS4 and PS5 games. We could get more updates on release dates for high-profile games like Gran Turismo 7 and the new God of War--both of which are believed to be pushed back to at least 2022.
Expect to see new footage of new first-party games like Returnal, Ratchet and Clank A Rift Apart, and Horizon: Forbidden West, all of which are releasing in 2021.

Sony confirms new PSVR in development, not coming this year
Sony today confirmed that it is developing a new PlayStation VR headset for the PlayStation 5 console. The new device would offer better displays, a wider field of view, better tracking, and new controllers.
Sony recently launched the PlayStation 5 console, and with it came support for the existing PSVR headset. Before the launch of the PS5 console, Sony wasn't very forthright with the details about its next VR system. Until today, we didn't know for sure that Sony would carry on with VR for the new console generation. The company's executives made it seem like we wouldn't see a new headset anytime soon.
A handful of patents have been uncovered in recent months, including a design for new motion controllers that includes additional buttons and a thumbstick for each hand. The patent diagram shows a pair of wand controllers that resemble Valve's Index controllers, with a sensor-embedded halo that wraps around the wands. Sony said the new controllers would integrate features from the DuelSense wireless controllers, although it didn't elaborate on which features precisely.

New runewords may come to Diablo II Resurrected post-launch
Diablo 2 Resurrected is just the beginning, and Blizzard hints at plans to update the game post-launch.
It has been years since Blizzard touched D2. The game's current version, 1.14, was released nearly 5 years ago and the game has remained static since. The new Diablo II Resurrected remaster may revitalize the ARPG classic with new post-release patches, updates, and content to change the meta and scope of the game.
The updates should start with new runewords. In a recent Q&A session, Diablo II Resurrected principal designer Ryan Gallerani hinted new runewords could drop after the game's launch.

Report: PS5's God of War Ragnarok sequel delayed past 2021
God of War Ragnarok will miss its planned 2021 release date, Sony strongly hints.
Today Sony confirmed Gran Turismo 7 has been delayed from 2021 over to 2022, and it might not be the only high-profile PS5 game to get pushed back. In a recent GQ Magazine interview, PlayStation boss Jim Ryan outlined all the first-party PS5 exclusives launching in 2021; Returnal in April, Ratchet and Clank a Rift Apart in June, and Horizon: Forbidden West in 2H 2021. The hugely anticipated God of War sequel wasn't among those games.
Bloomberg's Jason Schreier, who has close knowledge with the games industry, also says Ragnarok won't launch in 2021. While neither Sony or God of War developer Sony Santa Monica hasn't officially confirmed a delay, the game's omission from the high-profile press interview speaks volumes.

Sony breaks console exclusivity, launching big PS4 games on PC in 2021
Sony confirms first-party PS4 exclusive Days Gone will release on PC this Spring, and more games are coming in 2021.
Horizon: Zero Dawn's Steam launch was just the beginning of Sony's new PC focus. The next PS4 game dropping on PC will be Sony Bend's open-world zombie game Days Gone, Sony's Jim Ryan confirmed in a new GQ Magazine interview.
The port should release with modern PC enhancements like improved FPS, ultra-wide support, and high-resolution textures. Expect the game to be unrestricted by the PS4's and PS4 Pro's limited Jaguar-based APU, and there's a possibility we could see a PS5 optimized re-release as well. No exact information on Days Gone's PC performance has been announced just yet.

Gran Turismo 7 delayed to 2022 on PlayStation 5 due to COVID-19
High-profile PlayStation 5 exclusive Gran Turismo 7 has been delayed to an undisclosed date in 2022, Sony has announced.
Delay season continues: Gran Turismo 7 has been pushed back from its original 2021 release date to an undetermined launch in 2022. The reason? COVID-19, of course. Polyphony Digital has transitioned to a work-from-home environment, which places new stressors on communication, iteration, and overall development.
"GT7 has been impacted by COVID-related production challenges and therefore will shift from 2021 to 2022," a Sony PR rep told GQ Magazine.

Next-gen PS5-powered PSVR headset announced, won't come in 2021
Today Sony announced a PS5-powered PSVR headset is in the works, complete with boosted resolution and a new and improved controller.
Sony officially confirms a next-gen PlayStation VR headset is coming to the PS5, but a finalized HMD hasn't been revealed just yet. The headset will connect directly to the PlayStation 5 with a single cord and circumvent the current PSVR's rat's nest of connections and break out boxes.
"We're taking what we've learned since launching PS VR on PS4 to develop a next-gen VR system that enhances everything from resolution and field of view to tracking and input. It will connect to PS5 with a single cord to simplify setup and improve ease-of-use, while enabling a high-fidelity visual experience."

GPU-Z has early support for AMD's new Radeon RX 6700, RX 6600 cards
GPU-Z is an invaluable tool for any PC gamer or enthusiast, with GPU-Z now including support for AMD's upcoming Radeon RX 6700 and Radeon RX 6600 series graphics cards.
AMD hasn't officially made some of these cards a reality just yet, while we know the Radeon RX 6700 XT might be coming in two flavors with a March/April 2021 release we don't know much outside of that. The Radeon RX 6600 is the newer out of the two, with not much know about it so far outside of its leaks earlier this month.
The latest version of GPU-Z also has support built-in for NVIDIA's new GeForce RTX 30 mobile GPUs, and all of their new GeForce RTX 30-series powered gaming laptops from various partners. The new GeForce RTX 3060 is also supported, which officially launches on February 25 with an MSRP of $329... well, I guess because it's available early for $500.

Portable AYA Neo console: fits in your hand, also plays Crysis
AMD has its CPU and GPU technology inside of the AYA Neo console, an upcoming handheld console that has been in development for many years now. It's getting closer, and yeah -- it can run Crysis. Check out the specs:
As you can see it has some pretty beefy specs inside of it for a handheld console, with the AYA Neo powered by an AMD Ryzen 5 4500U processor offering 6 cores and 6 threads -- no SMT here -- with a base clock of 2.3GHz and boost clock of up to 4.0GHz.
The AYA Neo console also features 16GB of LPDDR4X @ 4266MHz RAM, 512GB of NVMe SSD storage, a 7-inch 1280 x 800 IPS LCD display, Wi-Fi 6, BT 5.0, and a 47 Whr battery with 65W fast charging technology. The battery is said to be good for around 6 hours of normal use, or around 2 hours of gaming use.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 spotted for around $500, up from $329 MSRP
We are just days away from NVIDIA releasing the GeForce RTX 3060, where at the time of writing I'm knee-deep in benchmarking graphics cards at 7 o'clock in the morning -- but US retailers are listing the GeForce RTX 3060 early and it ain't pretty.
Now we have some leaked photos from US retailers courtesy of Coreteks, where the $329 MSRP that NVIDIA has stamped onto its GeForce RTX 3060 not even making it to launch. NVIDIA will not be making a GeForce RTX 3060 Founders Edition graphics card so it is all left to the AIB partners, and boy is it going to get messy.
$329 MSRP but a shelf price brand new of $485 for the MSI GeForce RTX 3060 Ventus X2 graphics card, while the flagship MSI GeForce RTX 3060 GAMING X TRIO costs $515 -- $180+ over the MSRP that NVIDIA itself has set for the GeForce RTX 3060.

GALAX GeForce RTX 3090 HOF can now be pre-ordered, costs up to $3400
The GALAX GeForce RTX 3090 HOF family of graphics cards is now up for pre-order worldwide, depending on the market that is, with the GALAX Malaysia pre-order page stating 1 card will be distributed to each of the 11 participating stores in that particular country.
Just quickly, the HOF display does look pretty awesome -- if not a bit wanky, but still awesome.
But what price are you looking for? Well, the cheapest model out of all of the new GALAX GeForce RTX 3090 HOF cards is the regular RTX 3090 HOF which will cost at least $2600 -- while the higher-end GALAX GeForce RTX 3090 HOF Limited Edition will cost $3100 or so.

Nintendo's next-gen Super Switch rumored to include NVIDIA DLSS tech
It was back in May 2016 when I exclusively revealed to the world that NVIDIA secured the chip supplying contract from Nintendo for their at-the-time 'NX console' which turned out to be the phenomenally successful Nintendo Switch.
Yeah, well, what's next? The next-gen Nintendo Super Switch -- that's what I've been referring to it as -- is in the headlines where it will reportedly feature a next-gen SoC with NVIDIA DLSS (Deep Learning Super Sampling) technology support.
ResetEra insider NateDrake explained: "Won't really talk more about the tech specs than I have. It has DLSS & it has 4K functionality. No reason to go deeper than that right now. That's enough to illustrate the device is a meaningful upgrade. First party support with span the new hardware and current Switch for at least a couple of years".

Tencent raises $8.3 billion, may target big gaming acquisitions
Tencent has raised over $8 billion across twelve worldwide banks, and this massive horde of cash could be used to buy new gaming studios (and publishers).
Previous reports said Tencent might be eyeing huge acquisitions like EA or even Grand Theft Auto-maker Take-Two Interactive, and now it has the money to back up a buyout of this caliber. The Chinese juggernaut recently raised a staggering $8.3 billion for "general corporate purposes," Bloomberg reports.
While Tencent could shake up the games industry with a high-profile buyout, it's more likely the company will focus on Asian developers like Nexon and NetMarble. Tencent may shy away from stake buyouts or full-on games acquisitions and put its new funds into other markets--Tencent invests its money far beyond just gaming and has put cash into e-commerce, medical, and even has its own credit score system.

Diablo 2 remaster supports breakpoint builds even with uncapped FPS
The new Diablo II Resurrected remaster may look like a new game, but it's really not. The old-school classic Diablo II experience is still running underneath, complete with bugs, quirks, and frame timings. That means breakpoints are still in the game, and players can still stack faster cast rate or increased attack speed and technically break past animation limitations.
Diablo II's breakpoints can be pretty fun to manipulate. The game runs at 25 FPS, and the new Resurrected remaster will also be sourced on the 25FPS timings of the original despite running at higher frame rates on consoles and PC (it can hit uncapped FPS at 8K resolution on PC). The underpinning core logic remains the same, though, allowing breakpoint builds.
Although the game ran at 25FPS, gamers could stack boosted upgrades like IAS (increased attack speed), FBR (faster block rate), FCR (faster cast rate), and others like FHR (faster hit recovery) to "break" the animation barrier; the characters animations could technically go past their limitations. This lead to some pretty godly builds, and breakpoints are kind of a science for high-level D2 play.

Diablo II Resurrected remaster hits beastly 8K uncapped FPS on PC
Back in the day, Diablo II ran at 800x600 resolution, but the new remaster will push things up to 8K.
For D2 fans like myself, the new Diablo II Resurrected remaster is something out of a dream. The original game has basically been untouched outside of QoL improvements like a shared stash and upgraded visuals, which are driven by a brand new 3D engine. And if you happen to have a powerful PC, the Diablo II remaster can hit insane spec targets like 8K with uncapped frame rates.
"We'll be running at 4320p on PC, 2160p on next-gen consoles at 60 frames per second. On PC you can run uncapped," lead designer Rob Gallerani said in a recent Q&A stream.
