AMD has just confirmed its next-gen codename "Raphael" CPUs will be the "ultimate processors for gaming rigs" when they drop later this year.

In a new roadmap for its new Ryzen 7000 series CPUs, AMD has confirmed that Raphael will be dropping in the last quarter of 2022 -- powered by the next-gen Zen 4 architecture -- and packing DDR5 memory support, PCIe 5.0 connectivity, and more.

AMD also confirmed its "Dragon Range" and "Phoenix" CPUs: the new Dragon Range CPUs are new for 2023 and in AMD's words are the "number one choice for mobile gaming dominance". How? Dragon Range will pack the newest Zen 4 architecture "achieving the pinnacle of gaming performance", with the "highest core, thread, and cache ever for a mobile gaming CPU", and will be the "fastest creator for productivity performance ever mobile PCs".

Blizzard's new Warcraft mobile game is a so-called "tower offense" RTS battler where gamers can customize troops and take on combatants.

Today Blizzard revealed Arclight Rumble, a new Warcraft RTS that's actually coming to mobile instead of PC. The game is similar to billion-dollar mobile titan Clash Royale in scope and presentation, only in Arclight Rumble gamers will lead their forces across a multitude of maps to battle towering bosses, huge obstacles like enemy ships, and teeming hordes of enemies.

Arclight Rumble also features co-op, a singleplayer campaign, and PVP. Microtransactions are in, of course, and real money can be used to buy more units.

One of IO Interactive's top talent has joined Crytek to work on the next Crysis game.

Crysis 4 was announced in January as being in "early stages of development", and now the game's dev team is starting to take shape.

According to a new announcement from Crytek, Hitman 3 game director Mattias Engstrom has joined the studio and will now serve as game director on Crysis 4.

Square Enix's two Marvel games have led to hundreds of millions of dollars in losses, reports indicate.

Square Enix is cutting its losses and selling Crystal Dynamics, Eidos Montreal, and a bunch of IPs including Tomb Raider and Deus Ex to Embracer Group in a deal worth $300 million. We've talked in length on why Square Enix is selling, but one word summarizes it all: losses.

According to MST Financial senior analyst David Gibson, Square Enix lost a whopping $200 million from Marvel games Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy: "In a little under two years, Square Enix lost $200 million on two Marvel games."

It appears live service flop Avengers and the highly-rated Guardians of the Galaxy games are included in Embracer's recent buyout deal.

Embracer Group made a sweeping $300 million deal to buy Square Enix's Crystal Dynamics, Eidos Montreal, and Canadian mobile games division. Each studio's original IPs and games are also coming with the deal, including hit franchises like Tomb Raider, Deus Ex, Legacy of Kain, and Thief.

Interestingly enough, it looks like Square Enix is also shedding Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy--two very expensive games that cost the publisher hundreds of millions in losses.

Blizzard will reveal its new Warcraft mobile game tomorrow, but it won't be the AR game that was previously in development.

Activision-Blizzard has plans to bring all of its major IPs to mobile. First there was Diablo Immortal, and now Warcraft is also getting adapted to gaming's most lucrative platform. So what is Blizzard working on?

Back in 2018, it was believed Blizzard was developing an AR-based Warcraft game in the vein of Pokemon Go. Players would walk around the real-world with the fictional world of Azeroth laid over it, complete with combat and encounters. That project has been scrapped, sources have told Windows Central's Jez Corden and Bloomberg's Jason Schreier.

A study on the new superconductor titled "The field-free Josephson diode in a van der Waals heterostructure" has been published in the journal Nature.

Researchers from the Delft University of Technology (TU Delft) have discovered one-way superconductivity without needing magnetic fields. This was thought to be impossible since 1911, when superconductivity was discovered, and the new discovery helps pave the way to a future of superconducting computing. To enable one-way superconductivity, they created the Josephson Diode, an example of what they call a Quantum Material Josephson Junctions (QMJJ).

Electronics can become hundreds of times faster and use less energy with the help of superconductors, which allow current to travel through a wire without any resistance. Unidirectional energy flow is a prerequisite for computing to be possible and for modern electronics to function properly, and it was previously impossible for scientists to achieve with superconductivity.

The Large Hadron Collider (LHC) restarted for the first time in three years almost two weeks ago.

The LHC restarted on April 22nd after three years of maintenance, upgrades, and consolidation work. Three days later, it broke its own record for the energy of its beams. Two proton beams were circulated throughout the particle accelerator with an energy of 6.8 trillion electronvolts per beam, exceeding the previous record set in 2015 at 6.5 TeV.

CERN achieved the record-setting run during its beam commissioning phase as the LHC prepares to begin its third major run of experiments, known as Run 3. CERN plans to slowly ramp up the energy of runs in anticipation of the beginning of Run 3 in the summer and is planning to achieve a record energy of 13.6 TeV.

The European Space Agency (ESA) has posted a new video to its YouTube channel as part of its Cosmic Kiss mission.

The video is sped up by eight times and shows astronauts from Expedition 66 floating throughout the inside of the International Space Station (ISS) as it receives an orbital reboost. The ISS is periodically reboosted to help it maintain its orbit, as it loses about 100 meters of altitude every day due to atmospheric drag.

In March 2022, a reboost was performed with the help of Russia's ISS Progress 70 cargo craft, firing its engines for several minutes until it returned the station to its proper altitude. At the correct altitude, phasing for visiting vehicles in the future is optimized for when they arrive.

Rocket Lab has successfully caught its Electron rocket booster as it fell back to Earth during its latest mission.

A week prior, the company successfully retrieved a dummy booster meant to simulate the real Electron booster in preparation for the upcoming mission. On May 3rd, Rocket Lab recovered its Electron booster with its modified Sikorsky S-92 helicopter during the "There and Back Again" mission.

Rocket Lab's Electron rocket launched 34 satellites for various companies to a sun-synchronous orbit, marking 146 satellites launched by Electron so far. About 15 minutes after launch (52:30 in the company's livestream), Rocket Lab's helicopter caught the rocket's booster in mid-air as it parachuted back to Earth.

A study on the universe shrinking titled "Rapidly descending dark energy and the end of cosmic expansion" has been published in the journal Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.

Researchers have created a new model that uses dark energy, the mysterious force that appears to be driving the ever-faster expansion of the universe that has been previously observed. Their model considers dark energy not to be constant but instead decaying over time. This would result in the expansive force from the dark energy waning with time, eventually halting the universe's expansion.

The team's model estimates that within the 65 million years, the universe could stop expanding at an accelerating rate, and then within 100 million years, it could stop expanding entirely. At this stage, the universe would then begin to contract slowly over billions of years. With the universe's current age at 13.77 billion years old, this would see it begin to shrink before its 14 billionth birthday.

The heated words come from Russia's Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, who warned that nuclear war is a possibility that all should take very seriously.

In a recent interview with Russian state TV, Lavrov claimed that NATO is going to war with Russia via proxy and is arming that proxy, referencing the multi-billion-dollar weapons shipments being sent to Ukraine from various countries. The top diplomat also went on to explain that Russia doesn't want to turn to nuclear war and that he doesn't want the risk of it to be "artificially inflated". However, Lavrov did warn that it was "serious," "real," and "cannot be underestimated."

In response to these remarks by Lavrov, his Ukrainian counterpart claimed that Russia is losing its last hopes in scaring off the world from supporting Ukraine. Notably, Lavrov went on to say that the tensions between the US and Russia are currently worse than the tensions during the Cuban Missile Crisis in 1962. As Russia is seemingly losing at its invasion of Ukraine, many officials have turned a wary eye towards Putin, who may not think he has many other options than nuclear war in the face of defeat.

Famed "Star Trek" actor William Shatner recently asked Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk if he could be the new face of Twitter.

Following Musk's official purchase of Twitter and entering into a year-long closing deal, the billionaire entrepreneur has received multiple requests from various public figures asking him to make certain changes to the social media platform. Additionally, Musk has received countless questions regarding which changes he will implement and why.

On a lighter note, Shatner seems to have coyly asked Musk if he could hire him "as the face of Twitter", adding that he should remove the Twitter bird logo with the hashtag "#dumpthebird". Musk replied to Captain Kirk's tweet, saying that "You will always be my Captain". Recently, Musk revealed a change that is likely to be implemented into Twitter's direct-messaging system. The tensions between Russia and the rest of the space venturing countries have seemingly come to an all-time high after Russia confirmed it would be departing from the International Space Station (ISS).

The news comes from Roscosmos director and chief Dmitry Rogozin, who said to the state-owned Rossiya-24 TV channel on April 30 that Russia's involvement with the ISS project will soon come to a close but not prematurely. The head of Russia's space agency said that Roscosmos would maintain previous agreements with nations and give at least one year's notice "in accordance with our obligations".

As LiveScience points out, analysts that have researched Russia's actions in space have found that Russia never agreed to partake in the ISS project further than 2024. Notably, other partners in the ISS program, such as NASA and the European Space Agency (ESA) have pledged to extend the project's life to at least 2030. Rogozin has long been vocal about the sanctions imposed on Russia following the kremlins invasion, saying that the international restrictions on Russia would "destroy" the partnership between NASA and the ESA.

The new NFT collection comes from famed developers Yuga Labs, known for creating the extremely popular Bored Ape Yacht Club NFT project. Yuga Labs released a new NFT collection that featured 100,000 land deeds for the upcoming Bored Ape metaverse called "Otherside". With Bored Ape's being the most popular NFTs, the land deed drop from Yuga Labs was expected to have high interest, but very quickly, the developers and users attempting to purchase the land plots learned that there was very high demand on the Ethereum blockchain.

Users attempting to purchase the land plots were met with exorbitant gas fees, which caused many users to be forced into paying thousands in failed transactions. Notably, CNET reports that the Ethereum network was "unstable for hours" following the launch of the NFT collection, and Yuga Labs even took to its Twitter account to announce that the developers "we're sorry for turning off the lights on Ethereum for a while".

Now that Elon Musk has purchased Twitter, the Tesla and SpaceX CEO has begun revealing some of his stances on changes that may come to the platform.

Musk hasn't been shy about saying that Twitter needs changes, as it was one of his main reasons for purchasing the world's second-largest social media to take it private as he believes that under his guidance and changes, he will "unlock it". Since the purchasing has gone through, Musk has dropped hints on his beliefs for Twitter to "deserve public trust,"; what Twitter's direct-messaging services needs, and now account authentication.

In reply to a post by Mike Huckabee that directly asks Musk to change Twitter's account requirements to have people's real names attached to them so people cannot hide behind anonymity. Huckabee calls upon people to "be man enough or woman enough to stand by what you say!". In response to this Tweet, Musk says that "Authentication is important, but so is anonymity for many. A balance must be struck."
