God of War Ragnarok, Gran Turismo 7: not PS5 exclusives, coming to PS4
Sony's biggest PlayStation 5 games are also coming to PlayStation 4, the company today confirmed.
With 116.4 million worldwide shipments, Sony isn't ready to give up on the PS4 yet (nor should they be). The PlayStation brand's billion-dollar business relies mostly on full game sales and commissions from third-party titles, so reducing software availability to an immature 7.8 million install base of PS5 won't maximize sales. That's why Sony's biggest games will be cross-gen throughout 2022 (and possibly beyond).
Sony Worldwide Studios boss Hermen Hulst today confirmed that three big PS5 titles will also release on the PS4: Horizon Forbidden West, which we already knew about, and two surprising games, Gran Turismo 7, which we previously understood would be built from the ground up for PS5 with high-end optimizations like ray tracing, and the new God of War sequel from Sony Santa Monica.

Rainbow Six: Siege joins the NVIDIA DLSS train, update coming soon
NVIDIA announced its new GeForce RTX 3080 Ti and GeForce RTX 3070 Ti graphics cards during its all-virtual Computex 2021 keynote, with some special gaming surprises with RTX and DLSS technologies.
Ubisoft's huge hit Rainbow Six: Siege will soon have NVIDIA DLSS technology, which will boost performance even more -- and it's already a game that runs incredibly smooth on a decent GPU. This means that you can easily hit 4K 120FPS on the right hardware (GeForce RTX 3080, RTX 3080 Ti, RTX 3090) and maybe even usher in some 8K 60FPS gaming with Rainbow Six: Siege + DLSS.
NVIDIA also announced DLSS upgrades coming to DOOM Eternal (which will also have ray-traced reflections) and Red Dead Redemption 2. The RTX + DLSS update for DOOM Eternal drops later this month, but the DLSS update for RDR 2 is "coming soon" along with the DLSS update for Rainbow Six: Siege.

Red Dead Redemption 2 to get NVIDIA DLSS tech update soon
NVIDIA has just announced two new members to its Ampere GPU lineup with the recently announced GeForce RTX 3080 Ti and GeForce RTX 3070 Ti graphics cards. Alongside that launch was news of major AAA games getting RTX ray tracing and DLSS technologies injected into their game.
One of those was Rockstar Games' super-successful Red Dead Redemption 2, which will be receiving an update that will add DLSS (Deep Learning Super Sampling) support. RDR 2 is already a decently optimized game with fantastic performance across the board, but DLSS will only amplify that.
Red Dead Redemption 2 with DLSS will allow gamers with lower-powered graphics cards to enjoy higher-fidelity graphics and resolutions while allowing those with higher-end cards to play at even higher levels of details or with DLSS set to Quality mode.

DOOM Eternal receives ray tracing + NVIDIA DLSS update in June
DOOM Eternal is already one of the best-looking games on the market, but now it looks even better with its just-announced RTX ray tracing and DLSS update that is coming later this month. Check it out:
NVIDIA's newly-announced GeForce RTX 3080 Ti graphics card with its 12GB of GDDR6X and $1199 pricing is powering DOOM Eternal with RTX ray tracing and DLSS technologies in the trailer above, in the glorious 4K of course.
The new update will add ray-traced reflections and a super huge performance improvement through Deep Learning Super Sampling (DLSS) technology. 8K wasn't playable before, but I'd say 8K 60FPS won't be an issue for DOOM Eternal and the new GeForce RTX 3080 Ti or GeForce RTX 3090 graphics cards thanks to the magic DLSS update.

SEGA wants to create multiple billion-dollar Super Games by 2030
As Activision-Blizzard, EA, Take-Two and Ubisoft outline big new ambitious plans, SEGA also has a bold strategy of its own.
After selling most of its arcade business, SEGA is doubling down on video games. More specifically, SEGA plans to create an entirely new genre called Super Games.
So what exactly is a Super Game? Think of massive multi-year live games like Phantasy Star Online 2, complete with monetization, thriving communities, and tons of content updates. These Super Games are expected to generate at least 100 billion yen (nearly $1 billion) in total lifetime revenues, and PSO2 is poised to hit this mark in 2021.

CD Projekt still not sure when Cyberpunk 2077 returns to PS Store
CD Projekt Group still isn't sure when Cyberpunk 2077 will return to the PlayStation Store, but the company is still in active talks with Sony.
CDPR gives investors slightly more detail in how it's negotiating with Sony to reinstate Cyberpunk 2077 to the PlayStation Store. In a recent earnings call, CD Projekt SVP of Business Development Michal Nowakowski says Sony has an internal set of metrics that Cyberpunk 2077 must adhere to in order to return to the PS Store. No exact details were outlined, though.
"I can't go deep into the set of metrics and how the conversation has progressed has to remain at the discretion of PlayStation and ourselves. But yes, there is a set of metrics, let's put it like that, on a high level but I can't go into the details of where we are on that. There is a process and we're in the middle of the process and this conversation is happen. That's all we can say. The decision will be announced when it's ready to be announced."

1/3rd of Cyberpunk 2077's dev team is preparing future games
CD Projekt's development teams are currently planning new projects beyond Cyberpunk 2077, which includes The Witcher 4.
Starting in 2022, CD Projekt plans to start working on two projects simultaneously across its two IPs, The Witcher and Cyberpunk. The new games are expected to be another Witcher title, possibly The Witcher 4 or a prequel, and Cyberpunk 2077's anticipated AAA multiplayer mode. Now the company gives a few updates on what's happening behind the scenes.
In a recent earnings call, CD Projekt President Adam Kicinski says that roughly 1/3rd of Cyberpunk 2077's principal development team are planning new AAA projects. These games aren't in principal development yet and Kicinski says 2021 will be a strong year for Cyberpunk 2077's continued growth and expansion (along with a next-gen release of The Witcher 3). About 300 people are still working on CP2077, Kicinski says.

Yes, Far Cry 6's guerrilla revolution is political, Ubisoft says
Ubisoft says what everyone already knew: Far Cry 6's storyline, themes, and tone are political.
A bit ago, Far Cry 6 narrative director Navid Khavari told The Gamer that Ubisoft "doesn't want to make a political statement about what's happening in Cuba specifically." This kicked off a heated controversy. Now the developer clarifies that yes, Far Cry 6 is indeed political.
"A story about a modern revolution must be. There are hard, relevant discussions in Far Cry 6 about the conditions that lead to the rise of fascism in a nation, the costs of imperialism, forced labor, the need for free-and-fair elections, LGBTQ+ rights, and more within the context of Yara, a fictional island in the Caribbean," Khavari said.

Cyberpunk 2077 made over $21 million in CD Projekt's Q1 period
CD Projekt reveals that Cyberpunk 2077 made over $21 million in sales revenue in its record-breaking Q1 period.
In a recent earnings call, CD Projekt confirms that its controversial Cyberpunk 2077 is still selling well. The company says that Cyberpunk 2077 made up 60% of total product sales revenues during the period, or 85.240 million PLN ($21.57 million). A quick bit of math shows that Cyberpunk 2077 sales also made up 44% of total Q1's record 197 million PLN revenues.
The vast majority of these sales were digitally on PC. This makes sense because Cyberpunk 2077 has yet to return to the PlayStation Store. CD Projekt CFO Piotr Nielubowicz confirms that the record Q1 revenues don't include physical sales from retailers as most stores have yet to sell all the copies they ordered in December and distributors haven't made any more shipments.

Unreal Engine 5 ray traced forest map will melt your eyeballs and PC
Unreal Engine 5 is already blowing eyeballs up around the world, with MAWI United teasing a new video showcasing their Birch Forest Map that has been recreated inside of UE5. Check it out, it's pretty freaking incredible:
The team has used Unreal Engine 5 with Lumen ray tracing, as well as Epic Games' signature Nanite technology which unleashes an insane amount of geometric detail and makes a forest-style environment like this, really, really impressive.
The demo itself was running on a GeForce RTX 2080 graphics card at 30FPS, which isn't too bad at all, but I'd love to see how this would run on a faster GPU like the GeForce RTX 3080 or GeForce RTX 3090, or even the upcoming GeForce RTX 3080 Ti which is literally right around the corner.

Insider: GTA 6 reveal to take place inside of a GTA Online live event
Rockstar Games could reveal the next-gen Grand Theft Auto 6 through an online in-game event inside of GTA Online, similar to how Activision did inside of Call of Duty: Warzone with the reveal of Black Ops Cold War and Epic Games with its many in-game Fortnite events.
The new leak is coming from Reddit through a post on 4chan, so for the purposes of this news, I covered myself in salt. Onwards, the 4chan leaker said that GTA Online will be receiving 4 new updates that will lead into the GTA 6 marketing campaign "which will take place over live events".
GTA 6 being revealed inside of a live event of GTA Online is new and comes in the middle of a bunch of leaks about major improvements the team at Rockstar Games are in the middle of when it comes to the next-gen upgrade for Grand Theft Auto V and GTA Online that drops on November 11, 2021.

NVIDIA should unveil RTX ray tracing for DOOM Eternal later tonight
NVIDIA will be hosting its virtual Computex 2021 keynote later tonight, and now the official Bethesda Twitter account is teasing some new for DOOM Eternal.
In a new tweet, the team teases that you shouldn't miss NVIDIA's Computex 2021 special event, as it will be featuring DOOM Eternal. The developer teases that "Hell never looked so good" which leads me to believe it's going to be an RTX ray tracing addition (and possibly DLSS 2.0) to DOOM Eternal, which would be Hella good (pun intended).
DOOM Eternal had its RTX ray tracing in the pipeline for a while now, but it seems it will be coinciding with the launch of the new GeForce RTX 3080 Ti which will be announced during the stream, and review NDA lifted 48 hours later on June 2. Perfect timing for me to get back into Hell, and check DOOM Eternal out with its new RTX graphical abilities (and hopefully, DLSS 2.0 as well).

CD Projekt hits record Q1 revenues, net profits slide on high expenses
On the heels of a record-shattering 2020, CD Projekt starts 2021 with its best Q1 period of all time.
Today CD Projekt Group announced its Q1'21 earnings, showing the highest Q1 net revenues ever as profit dips. The company reported $8.83 million on $50 million in net revenues, citing increased operational costs and depreciation as the main reason for lower profits. 73% of CD Projekt's net revenues (145.86 million PLN or $36.92 million) were from game sales and royalties.
Costs of goods and services sold was up 208% to 23.65 million PLN due to higher expenses of in-development projects including The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077's next-gen port, new CP2077 patches, and DLC and expansions for the new game.

Far Cry 6 has outfits that buff stats similar to Assassin's Creed
Unlike Far Cry New Dawn, the outfits in Far Cry 6 won't be purely cosmetic.
Far Cry 6 will have new mechanic that introduces stat-boosting armor into the game, possibly similar to Assassin's Creed Origins, Odyssey, and Valhalla. The idea is to offer another way to buff player's abilities outside of the skill tree and allow more variability. While Ubisoft has yet to officially show off or detail the feature, several game sites offer details on how this system will work.
Players will be able to equip gear into five armor slots--head, chest, legs, hands and feet--and each piece of gear can add perks and boosts for specific proficiencies like stealth, offense, or more targeted playstyles. The reasons for this are two-fold: Gamers can now adjust their build on-the-fly, and Ubisoft can maximize engagement (the time you spend playing the game) with a ton of different build styles.

The new Battlefield takes place during World War 3, says BF6 leaker
The new Battlefield shouldn't be too far away now, with Battlefield 6 leaker Tom Henderson saying EA's ambitious new first-person shooter will be set during World War 3.
In a new tweet, Henderson says: "Battlefield 1 - World War 1. Battlefield V - World War 2. #BATTLEFIELD - World War 3". Henderson thinks that the new Battlefield will "take place after Battlefield 4" with a "near-future setting" where WW3 sees the USA vs Russia, and you're an "elite unit hired by these superpowers".
I think at this point it doesn't matter where, or when the new Battlefield game is set... it just has to be a great, kick-ass Battlefield game. After the last few dismal entries, EA and DICE need this... more so, Battlefield fans and gamers in general need (and want) a great Battlefield game.

A bit ago Techland kicked off its new Dying 2 Know series that explores Dying Light 2's story, environments, characters, weapons, and more. One of the more interesting things was the new City Alignment System that lets you shape the in-game world based on your choices and who you choose to help.
