Australian airline Twitter account hacked, used to hurl Kanye abuse
While Kanye West has been on a rampant Twitter tirade surrounding his 'Life of Pablo' album release, even social media accounts from The Land Down Under have gotten in on the action.
Virgin Australia's official Twitter account told Kanye West to "EAD" recently, further labelling him as a "douche" and embodying the common insult of many Aussie Generation X or Y youths.
While this tweet did come from the official and verified Virgin Australia account, it was soon after deleted with the company releasing a statement that "A recent tweet on our account was not published by a Virgin Australia employee and we are investigating the matter."

Epic Gear announces THUNDEROUZ headset, TweakTown review to come
New to the world but not to us, Epic Gear has just announced its new THUNDEROUZ headset to the world - something that I've been pre-release testing with a review to follow soon.
This headset features Epic Gear's own EG-Amp technology, working as an amplifier for the headset when plugged in through USB, supporting the provided 3.5m AUX connection. Another unique feature on offer here includes the touch sensor on the side of the earcup, allowing users to seamlessly change through different lighting modes and effects, great for those after something a little more fancy.
Sporting 50mm neodymium drivers, plush leatherette earcups and a stereo 2.0 sound configuration, this headset will be available mid-March for around $79.99.

Instagram's new update includes two-factor authentication
The latest Instagram update is here, with celebrities now being able to feel more secure in their accounts after large profile hacks - including Taylor Swift and Kris Jenner - recently finding their accounts inaccessible.
Before now, all you'd need to access an Instagram account was the username and password - but the Facebook-owned image sharing service is now rolling out a new two-factor authentication feature. Instagram now lets you verify your account through a phone number, so if you log into your account online - you'll need the text message Instagram will send you with its authentication code. This code is required before you can log into your Instagram account.
Instagram has been slow to update its app with two-factor authentication, and considering Facebook owns the company and has had two-factor authentication for five years now, this is really behind the times.

Want a self-parking chair? Yeah, Nissan has your back, and your butt
We live in a world of self-driving cars in our future, but what about self-parking chairs? Yeah, it's a thing - and of course, only in Japan.
Nissan has posted a new video to their YouTube page, teasing their new Intelligent Parking Chairs. The new self-parking chairs use an array of wireless signals, ceiling-mounted, motion-detecting cameras, and a Roomba-like circular chassis with wheels at the bottom of each chair.
The video shows the self-parking chairs being 'parked' once the owner claps their hands, with dozens of chairs moving by themselves and parking at their desks. At the end of the day, it looks like Nissan is really pushing its new Intelligent Park Assist self-parking car technology, but in a really cool way. It works, because it's awesome.

Street Fighter V is in shambles after its launch, what happened?!
We were promised so much with Street Fighter V, and now that the game is launched, it's a "complete mess" in the world's of DSO Gaming.
The online side of Street Fighter V is broken, as gamers are finding it hard to find opponents. The lounges are not working, so you can't even invite your friends into a match. Capcom promised cross-platform play between the PS4 and PC versions of Street Fighter V, but with the issues - this is hard, too. If you thought the PC version was the only one broken, the PS4 is in the same broken basket.
Street Fighter V also doesn't allow you to remap your keyboard, which is strange considering Street Fighter IV had support for this. The proper tutorial for characters is lackluster, so Street Fighter V doesn't even match up to its predecessor. Capcom needs to do damage control right now, as Street Fighter V is considered a KO in its current state.

Deadpool becomes largest opening ever for 20th Century Fox
Deadpool is making some serious coin at the box office, with it securing the largest R-rated opening weekend award with $132.4 million - taking the award from the previous record holder being The Matrix Reloaded with $91.7 million.
But the records don't stop there for the Ryan Reynolds vehicle, as it was also the biggest opening day in February with $47.5 million - taking the record from Fifty Shades of Grey which had $30.2 million for its opening day. Deadpool was also the largest February opening weekend, aside from it being the biggest R-rated opening weekend - taking that award from Fifty Shades of Gray. Then, we have Deadpool being the largest opening ever for 20th Century Fox, and considering Fox were on the fence about making the movie, this is absolutely huge.
Deadpool has taken on some big movies in Zoolander 2 and How to Be Single, destroying them at the box office. Deadpool's awesome opening sequence was also powered by NVIDIA hardware when it comes to the CG involved, but the question I have is - how quickly will Deadpool get to $500 million? Additionally, do you think it could get to $1 billion?

Batman uses ancient motherboards for his gadgets in Batman v Superman
I've been reading, watching and listening to anything I can find on Batman v Superman - with the latest nugget of information that I found was from the Batman v Superman prequel books on Reddit.
Someone uploaded the images, and as I was going through them all one of them covered 'new gadgets'. These new gadgets are explained on the image: "No complete list of Batman's gadgets exists, because he and Alfred are always inventing new ones. After every battle, Batman thinks of new ways that he can safely and securely catch criminals. From smoke grenades to whatever Batman needs, there's no doubt that Bruce and Alfred can build it in the Batcave!"
Well, taking a closer look at these images we can see some ancient motherboards being used. In the top left, we can see an ancient motherboard - it looks like a Socket A motherboard. We have some older boards spread out through the Batcave, so I have to ask - can't Batman afford a shiny new Z170-based motherboard from GIGABYTE or ASUS? If so, Batman - I will personally provide you with a new motherboard - just give me a call, alright?

LG's unannounced G5 was on sale in Dubai for $680, teases dual cameras
LG have been teasing their next-gen G5 smartphone, and we still don't know the full details on it - but a pre-release model has surfaced in Dubai. The pre-release G5 smartphone sports the G5 logo on its backplate and was selling for 2500 dirhams, or around $680.
The G5 was on a site called Dubizzle, but it's no longer listed - of course. Photos of the G5 teased that it will ditch the plastic body that the G4 has, for an all-metal one, with a dual-camera setup on the back. We should see an impressive accessory slot, which should be used for user-replaceable batteries - but I'm expecting much more from that. I think we'll see some AR/VR technology being used in that slot, as well as the removable battery.
An always-on display will be featured, with notorious leaker @evleaks taking to Twitter saying "Finally saw the G5; secondary screen confirmed". Exciting times ahead for LG fans.

You can now start pre-loading The Division open beta, get on it!
The Division's closed beta was a success, but now gamers are preparing for the open beta - which kicks off this week. Now we've found out that The Division's open beta is available for pre-load, so get in now if you want to kick around in Ubisoft's open-world RPG.
The Division open beta will take place between February 18-21 for the Xbox One and February 19-21 for the PS4 and PC. The update is now pre-loading, weighing in at around 1.23GB using Ubisoft's Uplay service, or around 1.1GB if you're using Steam.
If you've had access to the closed beta and not deleted it, you'll be okay - you'll just need to update. But if you did delete it, or didn't get into the closed beta, you're going to need 27-28GB of space to install The Division's open beta.

ASUS bundles free copies of Far Cry: Primal with select GPUs
ASUS has launched the Savage At Heart promotion, which gives away a free copy of Ubisoft's new Stone Age adventure Far Cry: Primal with the purchase of select qualifying video cards.
To get the bundle, you'll have to buy an ASUS-branded NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 or AMD Radeon R9 390 video card or better from Feb. 15 to Feb. 30.
Code redemption starts on March 1st, and oddly enough there's no sign-up process on the mainsite, so I'm not exactly sure how users are supposed to send in their PPID and GPU serial numbers. To register for the promo, you'll have to make an ASUS account and go here to find the event and sign up for it. The promo isn't listed on the events page, so maybe give it a few days.

Sony's next-gen Exmor IMX318 sensor packs a whopping 22.5 megapixels
Sony is teasing its next-gen image sensor, Exmor IMX318, which will be powering the next wave of smartphones. The sensor is packing an insane 22.5 megapixels, which means we'll be shooting 4K video without a problem, with an image quality we've never seen before.
With smartphones getting thinner and thinner, and consumers (including myself) not liking protruding cameras out of the back of the smartphones - including the huge sellers like the iPhone and Galaxy range from Samsung, the new Sony Exmor IMX318 should change this. Sony hasn't compromised image quality to get its Exmor IMX318 thinner, as it's a type 1/2.6 stacked CMOS sensor with 22.5 megapixels of shooting power - providing better IQ in a smaller, more compact size, with increased performance.
Sony says its new sensor is the industry's first to feature a built-in high-speed hybrid autofocus, which is as fast as 0.03 seconds, with built-in 3-axis electronic image stabilization technology for video. The company expects to begin shipping its new Exmor IMX318 in May, which should be perfect timing for the Galaxy Note 6 and the upcoming iPhone 7.

Deadpool's opening action scene was powered by NVIDIA hardware
Deadpool is one of the best superhero movies of recent years, so if you haven't seen it - go see it, you'll love it. But the opening sequence is freakin' awesome, and it was done entirely in CG using NVIDIA GPUs.
Blur Studio, which was co-founded by Deadpool director Tim Miller, was behind the sequence. Blur Studio built the assets for the scene using Autodesk 3DS Max, with the rendering part of it going through Chaos Group's GPU renderer, V-Ray RT. V-Ray RT runs on NVIDIA GPUs and is up to 15x faster than rendering on a CPU, according to NVIDIA.
The company used HP Z840 workstations powered by NVIDIA Quadro M6000 GPU, with Kevin Margo from Blur Studios explaining: "The power of GPU rendering combined with the speed and real-time interactivity of the HP workstations equipped with M6000s allowed us to consider rendering things we wouldn't have been able to before. It made the process so much easier and more efficient".

Homefront beta impressions: janky yet satisfying guerrilla chaos
Homefront: The Revolution's closed beta on Xbox One isn't actually a bad game. It's just held up by a shaky server foundation and some of the jankiest netcode you'll see in a modern shooter. There's stuttering animations, frame rate glitches, and intermittent lag that sometimes works in your favor, or sometimes kills you.
The first time you step into the game you feel as if you're submerged underwater: the controls are sluggish, and the aiming feels as though the joysticks were dipped in molasses. A quick tweak to the sensitivity fixed this for me, but there's nothing we can do about the awkward lag issues. Still, though, Homefront's core multiplayer experience is like a diamond in the rough--players just have to shovel through a lot of junk to get there.
After playing some 15 matches of the closed beta, I was convinced that Dambuster Studios has adequately tapped the chaos of guerrilla warfare. Rather than deliver more of the same competitive PVP we've seen time and time again, the Homefront beta is all about PVE-style co-operative teamwork. It's all about being a group of resistance fighters locked in a hopeless war against the might of North Korean warlords, working together to gun down hordes of soldiers and death-dealing war machines.

Everything you need to know about Fallout 4's season pass changes
Today was a big day for Fallout 4 fans. Bethesda not only unveiled the first three DLC packs for Fallout 4, but promised that many more packs would be released in 2016. The studio also announced that the game's Season Pass would jump to $50 to account for the extra DLC, a move that pissed off players. The announcement was met with a lot of miscommunication, however, so we thought we'd jump in and explain everything about the changes.
First of all, the Fallout 4 season pass is still $30 across PS4, Xbox One and PC, and won't be hiked up to the new $50 price point until March 1. Gamers have a few weeks grace period to pick up the pass at the existing lower price. This is a pretty good move on Bethsoft's part--an instant transition to $50 would backfire pretty badly.
Secondly, if you buy the season pass at $30 you'll be locked into the future content without paying anything extra. Bethesda guarantees that "anyone who buys the Season Pass for $29.99 before March 1st will get all $60 worth of content". Sure you can go piecemeal, but the $30 season pass is already cheaper than buying the first DLC packs separately, which lump up to $40.

Monopoly: Ultimate Banking Edition goes cashless
Monopoly has approximately a bajillion versions to date, but the upcoming Ultimate Banking Edition will be the first and only to scrap cash entirely and replace it all with a battery-powered ATM and credit cards. No doubt this will make the game more efficient, but it also takes out the fun of stealing money from other players when they aren't looking. And isn't that half the fun of Monopoly, really? Well, at least you can still rip people off at every opportunity as the banker.
Even Chance cards and property cards will be swiped, which has opened the door for new cards that affect the cost of rent and the like which previously would have been difficult and annoying to keep track of, especially for children. For some reason, Community Chest cards have been given the axe.
Ultimate Banking Edition will release this autumn and will go for $25.

'Kindergarten Cop 2' is actually a thing, new trailer proves it
The 1989 comedy 'Kindergarten Cop' not only proved that Schwarzenegger wasn't just funny, but he could hold his own against his most formidable enemy - children and also provided the classic line "It's not a toomah". So when Universal announced a sequel to the comedy last year, it was with not so much trepidation, but intense cynicism - especially with the absence of Arnie. And they were right. It looks pretty bad.
Releasing straight to video (cue alarm bells) in May, the low budget, low aiming, name stealing movie masquerading as a follow up to the classic comedy stars Dolph Lundgren, Bill Bellamy and Sarah Strange, alongside a bevy of child actors who you'll never see again. You can even buy it on Blu-ray too, because God knows, it needs all the resolution it can get.

Galaxy Note 6 rumored to be first 6GB smartphone
Weibo user HQ Vision has leaked some details on the Samsung Galaxy Note 6 smartphone. Apparently, that '6' is there for more reasons than one, as the device will house 6GB LPDDR4 RAM, making it the first smartphone to do so. This would put it ahead of even the Galaxy S7, so if you're keen on RAM, you may want to instead go for the S6.
Vision also claims the phone will feature a 5.8'' 2560x1440 screen (just slightly bigger than the 5.7'' display on the Note 5), a 12MP rear-facing camera with optical image stabilisation, either 64GB or 128GB of default storage, and likely, the option of either a Snapdragon or Exynos CPU. Finally, it's said to support the S Pen stylus.
The Note 6 is expected to launch later this year.

If you help beta test Fallout 4 DLC, you can keep it for free
Bethesda has finally spilled the beans on Fallout 4's DLC, revealing the first three content packs--Automatron, Wasteland Workshop, and Far Harbor--for all platforms. The studio also revealed that many more content packs are coming, but the Season Pass has been hiked up to $50. Despite the price, you can actually get all of the DLC packs for free, provided you help Bethesda out with some beta testing.
Both PC and console gamers have been given the opportunity to test early builds of all forthcoming Fallout 4 DLC. For their invaluable bug-squashing feedback, Bethesda promises beta testers will not only get early access to the "full version (complete with achievements)", but will be able to keep the content and retain all of the progress they've made for free. If you're interested, you'll want to zoom on over to this link and put in your request as soon as possible.
The studio says it'll begin selecting applicants in the coming weeks, so it's not on a first-come first-serve basis. The sign-up sheet asks you hardware technical specifications like video cards, CPUs, and RAM, so it's clear Bethsoft wants to test the content across a wide variety of rigs. It's great to see Bethesda opening this up, especially since console gamers don't have mods yet and are starved for new content.

New storage technique can house 360 TB data for 13.8 billion years
University of Southampton scientists have developed a new digital data storage technique that allows one to store up to 360 TB of data for up to 13.8 billion years.
The technology is especially exciting for archive organizations, museums, libraries, and the like, all of which value highly the extreme long-term preservation of data. Already the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), Newton's Opticks, Magna Carta, and King James Bible have been saved; the Declaration was recently presented to UNESCO by the ORC at the International Year of Light (IYL) closing ceremony in Mexico.
The technique utilizes nanostructured glass memory (dubbed the 'Superman memory crystal') created in fused quartz (one of the hardest and most durable natural structures in Earth's history) and femtosecond laser writing to record data in five dimensions (5D).

Fallout 4 DLC announced, three packs incoming with more on the way
Bethesda today announced three new Fallout 4 DLC packs, and says that many more are on the way. In fact, the publisher plans to release "more than $60 worth of content in 2016", which is phenomenal news for console gamers. However, there's a bit of bad news: the season pass' price tag has increased.
Before we dive into the three new add-ons--Automotron, Wasteland Workshop, and Far Harbor--let's talk a little bit about Bethesda's content roadmap. The studio will release a slew of new add-on DLC packs throughout this year, but to adjust for this revised plan, the Season Pass has jumped up to $50.
PC gamers will actually get to beta test these DLC packs out before release, and keep them for no extra cost. You'll have to sign up here, though. Now let's move onto the DLC!
