GTA V is still a revenue monster with 115 million copies sold
Years after release, GTA V and its online mode are still making serious cash for Take-Two Interactive.
Today Take-Two Interactive announced its Fiscal Q2'20 earnings, and once again GTA V continued to outperform expectations. Rockstar's mega-hit has now sold more than 115 million units worldwide (which is larger than the PS4's entire installed base) and continues generating consistent microtransaction revenues for the company.
We didn't get exact figures on GTA Online's revenues, but total recurrent consumer spending (microtransactions, DLC, season passes, etc) in Q2'20 made up 37% of total GAAP net revenues of $857.8 million, which means Take-Two pulled in $318.38 million from recurrent consumer spending. In order, the biggest contributors to this value were Borderlands 3, NBA 2K20 and NBA 2K19, and GTA Online and GTA V, meaning Rockstar's colossus made less than the newer sports and shooter-looter titles insofar as microtransactions.

BioWare: We have so many Mass Effect ideas and stories yet to tell
Today is N7 Day, a celebration of everything Mass Effect. Naturally BioWare took the opportunity to give hope for the franchise's future--even if it is a long, long ways away.
Mass Effect isn't dead, and BioWare has lots of interesting scenarios in mind for future games. That's what BioWare General Manager Casey Hudson said today to millions of sci-fi fans worldwide. "We have so many ideas for things we want to do in Mass Effect, so much concept art that hasn't yet been brought to life, and so many stories yet to tell," Hudson said on Twitter.
After the dismal release of Mass Effect: Andromeda, the franchise is currently in cryo sleep. It'll be a while before it wakes up. BioWare is currently developing Dragon Age 4, which is only in pre-production phases and may not release until 2022 or even 2023. But that hasn't stopped the team from planning and dreaming.

Tesla to reveal its 'armored personnel carrier from future' Nov 21st
Back in early October, Elon Musk took to Twitter to tease the design of the Tesla pickup truck. Musk is now at it again, but this time he is teasing its release date.
Musk was asked on Twitter by a fan what he thought about the designs of the pickup truck that were bouncing around the Internet. He replied to the fans saying, "Cybertruck doesn't look like anything I've seen bouncing around the Internet. It's closer to an armored personnel carrier from the future."
Then during the Tesla annual shareholders meeting in June, Musk said that 'Cybertruck' is designed to be a benchmark of Ford's F-150. Musk said the Cybertruck should "meet or exceed an F-150. If the F-150 can do it, then a Tesla truck should be able to do it." Just last night, Musk took to Twitter to announce that the Cybertruck will be unveiled on November 21st, in LA, near SpaceX rocket factory.

Terry Bogard is the hardest DLC fighter in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
The livestream revealing Super Smash Bros. Ultimate's latest DLC fighter is over, and the character we have been introduced to could be the hardest DLC fighter so far.
Nintendo has concluded their Super Smash Bros. Ultimate livestream revealing the newest DLC fighter to come to the fighter, Terry Bogard. Mashahiro Sakurai, the director of Smash Bros. Ultimate has gone through each of Terry's moves, showcasing each of the strong and weak versions. From the video, we can see that Terry is an extremely complex fighter, with multiple input commands for special, normal moves and more.
Since Terry has so many different moves that can be performed, and not to mention move cancels and strong and weak variants, the skill cap level for this fighter is extremely high. Picking him up on his release date (November 6th) will be a struggle for players, but after some getting used to and a nice visible list of his input commands, I think Terry will be a formidable opponent. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is exclusively available on the Nintendo Switch.

Gaming dev says that 4K gaming is 'useless'
As I sit here and type this article on the ASUS XG438Q -- a 43-inch 4K 120Hz G-Sync gaming monitor, a game developer says that 4K is useless.
Dino Patti, the co-founder and ex-CEO of Playdead -- the developer of Limbo and Inside, recently said at Reboot Develop: "I think (4K gaming) is useless. It's something that's being pushed by tech vendors to push the next console. Manufacturers don't respect the natural evolution of games and you force technology. Microsoft with Kinect, they paid studios to make a lot of s***ty games".
After leaving Playdead, Patti co-founded Coherence and Jumpship -- Coherence is building a cloud-based, open-source development platform while Jumpship is working on its first game. Patti continued: "I want to select a path by myself and not be drawn in by money from tech vendors. There's a lot of people that see something shiny and follow that. You can definitely see all the herd walking one way and falling".

ISS receives shipment of wine, but astronauts can't drink it
There are countless science experiments happening on the International Space Station, where astronauts on-board the ISS conducting the experiments in zero gravity while relaying the results back to researchers on the ground here on Earth.
A recent supply mission saw 12 bottles of wine delivered to the International Space Station, but the astronauts can't drink it... it's purely for science experiments. Why would they want to test wine in space? Simple -- the flavor of wine changes as it ages here on Earth with our gravity, but will the effect of zero gravity on the ISS change the flavor of wine over time? This is something that scientists want to know.
Not only does the effect of no gravity come into play, but the increased radiation in space versus the protected layers our Earth and its surrounding magnetic belts offer us from the sun. We might get completely new tasting wine, something that we literally could never have here on Earth outside of creating an artificial gravity and housing wine inside of it for decades.

Netflix CEO confirms they aren't working on game-streaming service
Netflix will be seeing some major streaming competition from the likes of Disney+ and HBO Now very soon, but the streaming giant has confirmed it will not be getting into the game streaming business.
Netflix CEO Reed Hastings confirmed the news when speaking at the DealBook 2019 event, with Hastings saying Netflix has no plans to enter the game streaming market. He said that Netflix will be concentrating on making some of the best TV shows and movies in the world, and will be the place people will go to after they've finished gaming.
When asked about Netflix possibly working on a game streaming service, Hastings said: "No. We're really focused on doing incredible series and films and unscripted. There are a lot of other things people do to entertain themselves, including Fortnite. And the original quote was that we compete with Fortnite more than we compete with HBO. Fortnite gets a lot more hours of viewing".

Keanu Reeves loved Cyberpunk 2077 so much, doubles his 'screen time'
Keanu Reeves was a massive surprise entry into Cyberpunk 2077 at E3 2019 earlier this year, but now the Matrix 4 and John Wick franchise actor will be in the game more.
Reeves reportedly loved Cyberpunk 2077 that much he pushed developer CD Projekt RED to double his "screen time" in the game. The news was revealed in a recent interview with TGCOM 24 journalist Gian Luca Rocco, who spoke with Keanu Reeves' long-time Italian dubber, Luca Ward.
The discussion took place at Lucca Comics and Games 2019 convention, where it was revealed that Reeves loved playing Johnny Silverhand in Cyberpunk 2077 he pushed CDPR for more "screen time". It goes to show you how much Reeves is invested into the game as a fan and actor, but now we'll get more of him? Breathtaking.

AMD Radeon 19.11.1 drivers: optimized for Red Dead Redemption 2
Red Dead Redemption 2 is now out on the PC, and with it we have drivers from both NVIDIA in the new GeForce 4222222 and now AMD's new Radeon Software Adrenalin 2019 Edition 19.11.1 drivers that are optimized for RDR2.
In what I'll now refer to the more sane-sounding Radeon 19.11.1 drivers we have the aforementioned optimizations for Red Dead Redemption 2, but now Vulkan extensions, bug fixes, and the usual nips and tucks from AMD in a new driver release.
AMD includes two new fixes for The Outer Worlds which squash some annoying bugs, while artificial frame rate caps at 60FPS in Vulkan-based games is fixed. AMD has also fixed heavy FPS drops when using AMF encoding with OBS streaming, too.

Rockstar Launcher ruins Red Dead Redemption 2 launch on the PC
Rockstar's launch of Red Dead Redemption 2 on the PC has been nothing short of a joke, with thousands of gamers filling website comments, social posts, and Reddit with issues of not being able to even load up Red Dead Redemption 2. If you can get it to work, there are over 40 graphical options to tweak in Red Dead Redemption 2.
Red Dead Redemption 2 launched just a day ago for the Epic Games Store and Rockstar Launcher, but not Steam -- if the Steam version had launched, I'm sure it would've worked while the others choked in a puddle on the ground. I have been trying for over 24 hours to get the Rockstar Launcher and RDR2 to even load, and I can't.
I've tried a million different things starting with (as always) having the latest GPU drivers, the latest Windows Updates, and a near-fresh install of Windows 10. I've scoured Reddit and Twitter and everything in between for tips on how to get the Rockstar Launcher and Red Dead Redemption 2 to play nice, to no avail. Red Dead Redemption 2's launch on the PC is an epic fail.

AMD steps it up (again) with next-gen Ryzen Threadripper packaging
AMD is expected to announce its next-gen Ryzen Threadripper 3000 series on November 7, with the release of its 64C/128T flagship Ryzen Threadripper 3990X processor in January 2020. But now it's time for a look at the packaging for the next-gen workstation CPUs.
VideoCardz is behind the leak once again, with the purported packaging of AMD's new Ryzen Threadripper CPUs. This retail packaging could end up being a limited or collectors edition packaging, as it really is that good. This could be an early design from AMD and might have changed between its inception and final release, so I guess we'll find out once they fully announce and unveil the Ryzen Threadripper 3000 chips.
We are to expect the two slower/less core count Ryzen Threadripper 3970X and 3960X processors to launch first, with review NDAs expiring on November 19. The flagship Ryzen Threadripper 3990X with its purported 64C/128T should be arriving in a couple of months, with AMD reportedly set to drop the Threadripper 3990X in January 2020.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is reportedly having back-to-back crashes on PC
Some PC players have taken to community forums to report that Red Dead Redemption 2 is having back-to-back crashes.
According to the /r/reddeadredemption subreddit and one of GameSpot's editors, one of the most common errors that PC players are experiencing is "Red Dead Redemption 2 exited unexpectedly. Please click Retry below to enter the game again, or click Safe Mode to launch the game with reduced graphics settings. If you continue to have problems playing the game, please contact Rockstar Games Customer Service at https://support.rockstargames.com ." You can see from the below image the options given after this error message is received.
Rockstar Games have taken to their official 'Rockstar Support' Twitter account to say that players must have the most up to date drivers when attempting to launch Red Dead Redemption 2 on PC. They also link to an article detailing how players can get their drivers up to date. At the moment, it's unclear whether or not this is a driver issue as players have commented on the Twitter post claiming they have updated drivers and are still experiencing extremely low FPS/crashes.

Google's 'Quantum Supremacy' achievement explained in just 3 minutes
Back in late September, Google announced that it had achieved what they called 'Quantum Supremacy', what does this mean exactly?
Thankfully, Elizabeth Gibney, a Senior Reporter at Nature can explain it to us in just three short minutes. If you didn't know, when Google announced that they had achieved 'Quantum Supremacy', IBM's head of research, Dario Gil said that Google's claim to 'Quantum Supremacy' was "just plain wrong". Why is that?
Well, Gibney explains that Google's quantum computer called 'Sycamore' performed a task that isn't particularly useful, and was just designed so the company could claim quantum supremacy. This can also be backed up by Gil, who said that Google's quantum computer is a specialized piece of hardware that is designed to solve one problem, while IBM's own quantum computer can pursue multiple. Either way, Google did complete a monumental task in an impressive amount of time.

Segway's first eBikes only travel 40 & 74 miles, but are $3,000/$4,500
When you think of Segway, you most likely think of the Segway PT, but now you are going to think of dirt bikes, yes, that's right, dirt bikes by Segway.
Segway are introducing two new dirt bike models that are hybrids between what would be considered as a normal dirt bike and a mountain bike. These two new models are Dirt eBike's and are the X160 and the X260. Firstly, the X160 is the smaller of the two and is more focussed on agility rather than raw power.
It has thin wheels that only measure in at 1-inches, and from the above image, we can see it has a compact frame when compared to the X260. The X160 has a top speed of 31.1mph and only has an estimated travel range of 40.4 miles while the X260 is much more powerful with a 74.6-mile range and a top speed of 46.6mph.

Here's a link to Super Smash Bros. Ultimate 'Terry Bogard' livestream
If you didn't know already, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will soon be getting Fatal Fury's Terry Bogard. He will be arriving as a DLC character, but first we have to watch the Smash Bros. director play him for 45 minutes.
Of course you don't have to watch Masahiro Sakurai play Terry Bogard for 45 minutes, but it would certainly help if you are planning on giving him a shot in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Sakurai will be going through all of Terry's moves, and most likely give a description on how those moves reflect his original moves from the Fatal Fury games.
Sakurai will also be giving players some pointers on how to best utilize Terry's kit, meaning we should get some descriptions on his weakness and strengths. It should also be noted that Terry will be arriving with the version 6.0.0 update for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and with any luck that update could drop right after the livestream ends. Above we have a link to the Nintendo UK YouTube channel that has a countdown for the livestream.

FTC fines AT&T $60 million, customers entitled to 'partial refunds'
AT&T has been caught out slowing down internet speeds, and have agreed to pay $60 million in a settlement with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC).
In a prepared statement by Andrew Smith, the director of the FTC's Bureau of Consumer Protection its detailed that AT&T misled internet customers by charging them for "unlimited" data plans, but inhibited overall download speeds. The settlement also details that any consumers who signed up for one of these plans before 2011 are entitled to "partial refunds".
Moving forward, the FTC has said that AT&T must disclose to customers any restrictions on speed, etc., "The disclosures need to be prominent, not buried in fine print or hidden behind hyperlinks." The FTC says that AT&T's speed restriction on "unlimited" plans are estimated to have affected more than 3.5 million customers as of 2014. "AT&T promised unlimited data -- without qualification -- and failed to deliver on that promise," said Smith.
