Julian Assange charged for conspiring with Anonymous, LulzSec hackers

The DOJ explained in a press release: "Assange and others at WikiLeaks recruited and agreed with hackers to commit computer intrusions to benefit WikiLeaks. Since the early days of WikiLeaks, Assange has spoken at hacking conferences to tout his own history as a 'famous teenage hacker in Australia' and to encourage others to hack to obtain information for WikiLeaks".

Back in 2010, Assange hacked into a NATO country's government system, and then two years later allegedly "communicated dfirectly" with the leader of LulzSec. At the time, the LulzSec leader was working with the FBI and "provided a list of targets for LulzSec to hack".

Raja Koduri shows off Intel Xe GPU from Intel's Folsom labs in the US

Anthony Garreffa | Graphics Cards | Jun 25, 2020 12:22 AM CDT

Raja Koduri has just been inside the Intel Folsom labs for a day trip to check on his baby: the Xe GPU architecture. Koduri tweeted:

Raja Koduri shows off Intel Xe GPU from Intel's Folsom labs in the US

Koduri teased the new 'BFP' as the big 'fabulous' package in the below tweet, with what appears to be the Arctic Sound prototypes in 1, 2, and 4 tile-based versions. This is the multi-chip module style that Intel seems to be going with, and now we have our juicy first photos from inside the Intel Folsom labs.

In the next tweet, there are a few things to note: first, Raja is wearing a face mask with 'Xe' branding on it. But in his hands? That would be the 'BFP' as he put it... the "big fabulous package".

Classified briefing on UFOs left senators 'disturbed' says expert

Anthony Garreffa | Science, Space, & Robotics | Jun 24, 2020 11:48 PM CDT

The world of UFOs just got a little more interesting this week, with the Senate Intelligence Committee requesting the Pentagon for a detail, and unclassified report on "unidentified aerial phenomena" otherwise known as UFOs.

Classified briefing on UFOs left senators 'disturbed' says expert

According to a former employee and UFO investigator for Britain's Ministry of Defense, Nike Pope, US senators were disturbed by what they saw. Pope explained in an email to Fox News: "I welcome this long-overdue development. It suggests that those senators who received last year's classified briefing on UFOs were disturbed by it and weren't satisfied with the current DOD position, i.e. simply stating that the mystery objects encountered by naval aviators remain unidentified".

Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, the acting chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, said in his report attached to the 2020-2021 Senate Intelligence Authorization Act, "instructed the director of national intelligence, the secretary of defense and other agency heads to compile data on 'unidentified aerial phenomenon'", reports Fox News.

Twitter slaps recent Trump tweet with this behavioral warning

Jak Connor | Internet & Websites | Jun 24, 2020 3:34 AM CDT

President Trump is notorious for his tweets, and whether you agree with them or not, anyone can see that sometimes they get a little out of hand, or perhaps are even interpreted incorrectly.

Twitter slaps recent Trump tweet with this behavioral warning

Every social media platform has rules and regulations, and Twitter is no exception to this rule. Above is an example of a tweet violating what Twitter calls "public interest". Here's what President Trump said, "There will never be an 'Autonomous Zone' in Washington, D.C., as long as I'm your President. If they try they will be met with serious force!" According to Twitter, the context of this tweet and the wording used violates the platform's guidelines, and has warranted a "public interest" notice to be slapped on the front of the tweet.

The public interest notice doesn't remove the tweet entirely but instead places a warning over the top of the tweet so it can't be immediately viewed. Here's what the warning says, "This Tweet violated the Twitter Rules about abusive behavior. However, Twitter has determined that it may be in the public's interest for the Tweet to remain accessible." This isn't the first time Twitter has issued a public interest notice on one of Trump's tweets. Last month the platform regulated this tweet from the President, "when the looting starts, the shooting starts".

Check out this trailer for Foundation, the first big Apple TV+ show

There have been many attempts over the decades to get a Foundation series developed, but it never happened -- that is, until Apple stepped in. Apple announced the show back in 2018 but had to halt production because of COVID-19 restrictions earlier this year.

As for Foundation, it is an old series that started as 8 short stories that writer Isaac Asimov wrote that were in Astounding Magazine starting 1942 and 1950. The series was inspired in some ways by Edward Gibbons' History of the Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire.

Battlefield 6 has modern setting, could support up to 128 players

Anthony Garreffa | Gaming | Jun 23, 2020 7:19 PM CDT

It feels like this has been the biggest week in regards to Battlefield 6 rumors, where I think EA teased an entire building collapse in Battlefield 6 -- and EA boss Laura Miele saying the team are "creating epic battles at a scale and fidelity unlike anything you've experienced before" for BF6.

Battlefield 6 has modern setting, could support up to 128 players

Tom Henderson, an industry insider, tweeted that the "next Battlefield title is a modern setting". What set the tweet off was the media saying that the gameplay in the EA Play 2020 footage was from Battlefield 6. More specifically, the part when all those soldiers were walking along the beach -- but this wasn't from BF6, it was "tech demo footage and the placeholder assets are from Battlefield V", Henderson explained.

EA DICE will reportedly unveil Battlefield 6 in "9 months or so" according to Henderson, which would put it at March 2021 -- smack bang in the middle of what should hopefully be GDC 2021 -- the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco.
