TSMC (Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co.) has just announced it will be spending a mind-boggling $100 billion on expanding its chip fabrication capacity, as we are in dire straits with chip production right now with silicon shortages worldwide.

The company has already got $28 billion invested into its expansions this year to keep up with the next-gen waves of 5nm and 3nm nodes, but this new $100 billion will be used to expand chip production capacity.

TSMC explains: "TSMC expects to invest USD$100b over the next three years to increase capacity to support the manufacturing and R&D of advanced semiconductor technologies. TSMC is working closely with our customers to address their needs in a sustainable manner".

ADATA has just revealed its new XPG GAMMIX S70 BLADE PCIe Gen4 x4 M.2 2280 SSD, packing the PCIe 4.0 interface and some ridiculous speeds for even the craziest of demands.

The new ADATA XPG GAMMIX S70 BLADE PCIe Gen4 x4 M.2 2280 has huge sequential read speeds of up to 7400MB/sec (7.4GB/sec) and sequential reads of up to 6400MB/sec (6.4GB/sec) -- twice the speeds possible from the previous-gen PCIe 3.0 standard and an insane 15x the speed provided by SATA SSDs.

ADATA is making its new high-end XPG GAMMIX S70 BLADE PCIe Gen4 x4 M.2 2280 SSD available in capacities of up to 2TB, with a large 5-year warranty on top. ADATA is using a slim temperature-resistant aluminum heat sink on the GAMMIX S70 BLADE SSD which "gets rid of heat effectively. So effective it can reduce temperatures by up to twenty percent. Plus, the heat sink looks cool too with its geometric ridges".

Spatial today announced a major update to its virtual collaboration platform that enables more realistic virtual environments modelled from real-world locations. The company is also making Spatial available for new devices to make the platform accessible to almost anyone.

Spatial started life as an augmented reality co-location system that would enable anyone with a Hololens or Magic Leap headset to meet remotely with other people with AR devices. The system includes a virtual avatar that can be projected into a remote location. If you want to get fancy, you could even use a 3D scan of your body as your avatar.

Now you can get even fancier by bringing scanned objects and environments into the mix. The new Spatial update enables you to bring high-fidelity LiDAR scans into the platform, which you can use to recreate real-world environments to use as virtual meeting places. You can also import virtual copies of real objects into your virtual meeting space, making virtual collaboration feel a bit closer to the real thing.

Have you ever wondered who is funding politicians? Well, now you can find out, and it's all thanks to this 18-year-old entrepreneur.

18-year-old Nick Rubin has created a free browser plugin application that allows citizens to find out how much funding members of Congress are receiving, who they received it from, how that money influences elections, and how the Congress member made. The plugin is titled Greenhouse and is currently supported by Google Chrome, Firefox, and Safari.

Once the application is installed and you are looking at an article with a politician's name, the app will showcase that politician's top ten monetary influences. Rubin stated to Vice, "Greenhouse allows people to see the money story behind the news story." One of the app's sources of data is OpenSecrets.org, which is the official website for The Center for Responsive Politics, a nonpartisan and nonprofit research group in Washington, D.C. who tracks where the money used in politics is coming from.

Tesla's own in-house "Technoking of Tesla" has tweeted about Dogecoin, pushing the cryptocurrencies price skyrocketing towards the moon, with Elon Musk tweeting that he'd put literal dogecoin on the literal moon.

Musk tweeted just 15 minutes ago: "SpaceX is going to put a literal Dogecoin on the literal moon", but it is April Fools Day today, so we don't know if he is joking around or not. But this is Elon Musk... he probably would put a "literal Dogecoin on the literal moon" so I guess we'll have to wait and see what he does.

The price of Dogecoin instantly mooned, moving from $0.054 to past $0.06 at the time of writing, a 16% change in minutes.

NVIDIA is definitely working on a next-gen GeForce RTX 40 series geaphics card, but this April Fools Day prank is actually a damn good one -- and an engineering and design feat. Check it out:

YouTuber Captains Workspace made up a mock GeForce RTX 4090 graphics card that he jokes has 4 x GPUs with 18,000 CUDA cores -- 232 RT cores, 2169MHz GPU boost clock, 48GB of next-gen GDDR7 memory, and 1kW of power consumption. What a beast... something that could run Crysis, Cyberpunk 2077, and Flight Simulator -- probably all at the same time, too.

The beast is absolutely huge -- I kinda wish a monster GPU like this would come out from NVIDIA. I know it never would, but I'd love to have something this ridiculous in my rig.

NASA's new Mars rover recently touched down on the Red Planet not to long ago, but Perseverance isn't the only rover scouring the surface of Mars.

Don't forget about Curiosity, which touched down on the surface of Mars back in 2012. Curiosity is still exploring nearly 10 years later, and to remind you just how good Curiosity is at it's job, NASA has released what could be the best selfie ever taken on Mars. Above, you can see the rover positioned in front of a rock feature known as Mont Mercou.

Additionally, the image also showcases wind-beaten rocks that Curiosity is sitting on as well as dunes of dark sand in the background. On top of that, if you check out the full-resolution image, or have keen eyes, you can spot a hole that has been drilled by Curiosity to take samples of the Red Planets rock material. Here's what NASA states, "Curiosity's drill powderized the sample before trickling it into instruments inside the rover so the science team could get a better understanding of the rock's composition and what clues it might offer about Mars' past."

It's not often that you see an official U.S. government Twitter page seemingly type out a tweet with their elbows.

The strange tweet comes from the U.S. Strategic Command Twitter account. It was posted on 7:48 pm, March 28th, and read as follows; ;l;;gmlxzssaw. Confusing right? The tweet was retweeted more than 11,000 times before a follow-up tweet was issued, stating, "Apologies for any confusion. Please disregard this post." Then, the U.S. Strategic Command Twitter account removed the entire tweet.

The tweet was only live for around half an hour, but that was plenty of time for people to screenshot the tweet and provide their own theories to what the U.S. Strategic Command was talking about. People humorously theorized that the U.S. Strategic Command was attempting to communicate with aliens or was revealing a "nuclear launch code", both of which are very unlikely. Amazon Alexa features inside of the Lamborghini Huracan EVO allow you to tweak controls of the vehicle with just your voice, with Lamborghini explaining you can control "climate and comfort settings including air conditioning, heater, fan speed, temperature, seat heaters, defroster and air flow direction, as well as lighting".

You can simply tell your Lamborghini Huracan EVO "Alexa, I am hot" and the car will start the air conditioning and get the car cooler, which is something the company wants you to use more often -- using your voice instead of taking your eyes off the road to see where your hand is moving to tweak the AC knobs and other controls in your car.

We've been hearing whispers of the GeForce RTX 3050 Laptop GPU series for a while now, but now Notebookcheck has an exclusive on the new mobile Ampere GPUs from NVIDIA.

NVIDIA's new GeForce RTX 3050 Ti Laptop GPU will use the GA107 GPU with 2560 CUDA cores, while the GeForce RTX 3050 Laptop GPU (non-Ti) uses the same GA107 GPU it knocks the CUDA core down to 2048. NVIDIA has 4 different GPU boost clocks for each GPU, ranging between 35W and 80W.

Both the GeForce RTX 3050 Ti and GeForce RTX 3050 Laptop GPUs feature 4GB of GDDR6 memory on a 128-bit memory bus with 5.5Gbps of bandwidth. We should see 1080p mobile gaming beasts with the new GeForce RTX 3050 Ti and GeForce RTX 3050 gaming laptops we'll (hopefully) see in the near future.

It looks like Yeston is about to release another card that'll be impossible to buy: a new custom card inspired by anime series 六道兵甲, which translates into something like Six Soldiers or Six Weapons reports VideoCardz. Check the card out:

The new Yeston Radeon RX 6700 XT Six Weapons rocks a totally reference design from AMD, so we have no factory overclock and no power requirement changes. We have a game GPU clock of 2424MHz and boost GPU clock of up to 2581MHz with what I'm sure will be a good amount of wiggle room for some manual overclocking on the Yeston Radeon RX 6700 XT Six Weapons graphics card.

Yeston is using a triple-fan and 2.5-slot design for its Radeon RX 6700 XT Six Weapons graphics card, with an interesting black/grey/silver style with translucent purple fans. There is a full-length RGB lighting strip atop the card, which can be seen near the 6 + 8-pin PCIe power connectors on the top of the card.

NVIDIA has been putting crypto mining rig owners through the ringer when it comes to GPU mining on their GeForce RTX 3060, which had ETH mining gimps on it -- then removed with drivers -- and now 7 x GeForce RTX 3060s have been used in a crypto mining rig without an issue.

Even with NVIDIA removing the ETH mining gimp from the GeForce RTX 3060 with its new drivers, this wasn't a one-fix solution... rather crypto miners had to do some work. For single-GPU mining solutions with the GeForce RTX 3060 you could ETH mine your life away without a problem, but with multiple cards in the system then the problems mounted.

Crypto miners discovered the ETH mining gimp can be avoided with multiple GeForce RTX 3060 graphics cards when you use dummy HDMI plugs in the back of the remaining RTX 3060 cards. This tricked the GPU drivers into thinking they were sending a display signal to a monitor, which then was a good enough trick to fool the GPU into mining at full speed -- with 7 x GeForce RTX 3060s installed into a single system.

Computex 2021 was meant to be an in-person event even with the on-going COVID-19 pandemic, TAITRA (Taiwan External Trade Development Council) has cancelled the in-person portion of Computex 2021 completely.

The organization tried to keep its promise of an in-person Computex 2021 event in Taipei, Taiwan as it did every year leading up to the pandemic but TAITRA has now officially pulled the plug. Computex 2021 will still forge along on May 31 but it will be an all-virtual event like Computex 2020, with the in-person side of things nixed.

TAITRA explains: "With another wave of coronavirus pandemic across the world, it doesn't look like we are close to the end. The majority of the show's stakeholders, including international exhibitors, visitors, and media, cannot join the show due to border control. Therefore, the organizers of COMPUTEX have decided to cancel the onsite exhibition this year".

NVIDIA has discovered over 1 million GeForce RTX 3080 graphics cards inside of thousands of boxes, which were re-discovered when the Evergreen got stuck in the Suez Canal.

The company confirmed it had multiple AIB partners with cards on the Evergreen, which it chose as its shipping partner because NVIDIA is also Team Green. Keeping things in the Green Family didn't seem to help as they lost 1 million GeForce RTX 3080 graphics cards in the process, but now they're found the company is selling them for 75% off.

This means you can get yourself a GeForce RTX 3080 graphics card -- something that is impossible to buy right now, for just a couple of hundred dollars. GeForce RTX 3080 graphics cards are selling for far higher than $1000 right now, with the 75% knocking them down to just $200-$300 for today only.

Ubisoft is eager to scale its game-making tools to harness upgraded PS5, Xbox Series X console power.

The new console generation is incredibly exciting for game developers, who have been had to strategically scale, compress, and dilute their games to fit on outdated tech. Now those shackles have been broken thanks to the PS5's and Xbox Series X's Zen 2 CPU, Navi GPU, 16GB of GDDR6 RAM, and PCIe 4.0 SSDs. Developers are happy they can start properly scaling their games closer to PC-level performance, and curious to see what the new consoles can handle.

Ubisoft is one of many publishers excited about new hardware. According to Ubisoft Massive technical associate producer Timothy Dansie, Ubisoft is currently updating its engines to flex the new console generation's SoC power. We've seen evidence of this with Watch Dogs Legion's native 4K gaming (and raytracing), as well as Assassin's Creed Valhalla's incredible in-game textures, frame rates, and performance.

Elder Scrolls Online's next-gen Console Enhanced upgrade releases this June, and it looks quite impressive.

ESO looks like a new game on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X hardware. The game's next-gen visual upgrades are pretty dramatic, showing a stark contrast over last-gen thanks to the new Navi 2X GPU tech. Textures are much more defined with higher resolution, shadows are more pronounced, lighting pops more than ever, flora is green and vibrant and fauna is much more realistic.

Apart from the cosmetic appeal, ESO is getting some performance jumps too. A new Performance Mode will double frame rates from 30FPS to 60FPS, and there's also the 4K 30FPS mode for higher fidelity (we've reached out to Bethesda to see what resolution the game hits in 60FPS). Load times have been sliced in half thanks to the PCIe 4.0 SSDs in each system, which is a big deal for any MMORPG.

Nintendo is making the baffling move to stop selling Mario 3D All-Stars on digital stores today. On closer examination, the move is actually strategic.

While Nintendo is a games company, it has been associated with economics throughout the years. The company has had issues with supply and demand since it debuted the NES in the 1980s. Traditionally, the issues have been outside of Nintendo's control. In the late 80s, Nintendo ran out of copies of key NES games. In 2020, Nintendo ran out of Switch consoles to sell to hungry consumers as chip manufacturing facilities struggled to keep up with demand.

But sometimes Nintendo has seemingly withheld or artificially manipulated these market principles. For instance, the company restricted 2016's NES Mini to incredibly small shipments, with some retailers only getting less than a dozen units. Now the company is removing a game from its digital storefront for no real reason other than to spike game sales.

Remedy is working on Alan Wake 2 with funding from Epic Games, sources tell VentureBeat's Jeff Grubb.

Remedy is currently working on two projects that will be published by Epic Games. One is described as a huge AAA game that's more ambitious than anything Remedy has ever done before. The other is a smaller-scale experience. Remedy says both of these games are set in the same franchise.

According to industry rumblings heard by games journalist Jeff Grubb, the bigger project is Alan Wake 2. If this is accurate--and it likely is--Remedy is possibly making two new Alan Wake games.
