Marvel vs Capcom 4 might not have any X-Men

| Nov 29, 2016 11:21 AM CST

Update: The "leaked" Marvel vs Capcom 4 pictures were faked by a NeoGAF user, so Wolverine and other X-Men may actually not show up in the game at all.

Marvel vs Capcom 4 might not have any X-Men

Rumor has it that Capcom will unveil Marvel vs Capcom 4 at Sony's PlayStation Experience event on December 3-4, but now sources are saying that classic X-Men won't be showing up at all.

Marvel vs Capcom has always been about variety, but the rumored fourth installment may totally nix the X-Men altogether. Sources have told Polygon that Marvel vs Capcom 4 will pull its characters from Marvel's current cinematic universe, with classic characters from franchises like Avengers, Doctor Strange, Guardians of the Galaxy and other MCU films replacing the traditional roster of mutant X-Men. Heroes like Iron Man, Thor and even Ant-Man are much more likely than classic mutants like Wolverine, Magneto, Storm and Phoenix.

No Man's Sky's new content update revitalizes playerbase

| Nov 29, 2016 6:43 AM CST

After being silent for a whole two months, Hello Games is back, and they've just released a massive Foundation Update for No Man's Sky, prompting a considerable return exodus from a large portion of PC gamers.

No Man's Sky's new content update revitalizes playerbase

Before the Foundation Update, No Man's Sky was hovering around a paltry 250-500 concurrent players on Steam. In fact, the game's player count started to dwindle as soon as a few weeks after its release. Those numbers took a huge turnaround after the content update hit, with 8090 concurrent players returning on Sunday. Those numbers soon petered off, however, and the numbers are at a more conservative 3,000+ players. For comparison's sake, No Man's Sky hit an insane 212,000+ gamers at its peak.

It seems that the Foundation Update was able to rekindle the playerbase. The update adds a huge array of extra content to the game including on-planet base building, farming, being able to dock your spaceships inside of freights while in space, tons of new materials, three new game modes, and more. Hello Games promises that this is just the "first of many free updates" planned that will expand the game further.

Watch Dogs 2 realism was a bit too much for a player

| Nov 28, 2016 9:26 PM CST

Fellow player AndresMoreno1was enjoying his time with Ubisoft's latest addition to the Watch Dogs franchise when suddenly everything seems too real for him.

Watch Dogs 2 realism was a bit too much for a player

Just as he's doubting if the game scenery is his reality or not, he decides to take a look outside of his window. The similarities are striking to say the least. As you can see, the in-game image is on your left and the real-world one is on your right.

Props to Ubisoft for making such a realistic game that can even mess with players' reality! You can also read our awesome in-depth review made by our gaming editor Derek if you want to learn more about the world of Watch Dogs 2.

Titanfall 2 Ion ultimate tip for newcomers and veterans

| Nov 28, 2016 7:25 PM CST

We all have used that awesome chest-bursting laser ability of Ion to annihilate the enemy titan but only to find out its passenger have escaped?! Well, this helpful tip from Redditor 'Ralphfromdk' of the Titanfall subreddit might help secure the soul of that sneaky pilot.

Titanfall 2 Ion ultimate tip for newcomers and veterans

Ralphfromdk noted that he sees the following phenomenon way too often where fellow Ion players are wasting the rest of their ultimate by swiping left and right in a last ditch effort to secure another victim while instead, they could have already killed the ejecting pilot.

His tip is quite simple actually :"If you doom someone and they try to eject, it is very easy to spot. Don't waste the rest of your core on an already dead titan, instead, while the titan is standing still, aim 2-3 feet above it to instantly fry the poor pilot as they try to escape. No need to [try to] hit laser shots on cloaked or phased pilots, they won't get the time to use any of that. They will be dead instantly."

Uncharted 4 new survival mode will crush your confidence

| Nov 28, 2016 5:28 PM CST

Naughty Dog revealed a new mode for Uncharted 4 last Monday, something that went under the radar for some of us. Let's take a look at what's in store.

Uncharted 4 new survival mode will crush your confidence

The new mode will be available first on PlayStation Experience and to be release to the general public in the mid-December. Naughty Dog described the new mode as "wave-based mode where you and up to two additional friends can take on swarms of increasingly powerful enemies and unique objectives.". Players from the co-op arena of Uncharted 2 and 3 should feel familiar, with the developer added: " From new enemy types and powerful new bosses to a dedicated progression system and expansive upgradable arsenal, Survival is all about strategy, camaraderie, and skill."

This Survival mode will feature 10 maps. You'll need to clear 50 waves of enemies featuring mercenaries, brutes, snipers and hunters that'll be much more equipped as you progress through the game mode. Every 10 waves will pitch you against a boss which will include the all-new Pirate Warlords. It will also feature its own progression system where as you rank up you can earn upgrades for weapons, "new items, such as Survival-exclusive boosters." and exclusive cosmetic items that can be use both in Survival and online multiplayer mode.

The Division's newest patch pull players back into it

| Nov 28, 2016 12:53 PM CST

As you may know, Ubisoft promising open-world third person shooter The Division have suffered a tremendous loss of its player base after the launch due to numerous mission exploits and glitches. However, the latest patch 1.4 and Survival DLC seem to have worked their magic and players start coming back in masses.

The Division's newest patch pull players back into it

Anne Blondel, Ubisoft VP of Live Operations, states in an exchange with PCGamesN :"Since the release of patch 1.4, we went back to the daily active users we had at launch, because people were [so impressed]".

She explained what was going on behind the scenes when they first saw the massive number of folks leaving the game: "Some players left the game earlier than what we thought, then we had to make that tough call - do we keep providing them with extra content or do we stop everything for a while, settle down, fix everything and then once the game is where it should be, then we start providing more content."

Half-Life fans campaign for HL3 with Steam awards

| Nov 28, 2016 11:22 AM CST

The recent Steam award nomination system have a category where you can suggest a name to it. This have resulted in some pretty hilarious events such as the savage No Man's Sky brainstorm and naming session. People have soon figured out another use of the system: letting Valve know that we are still damn waiting for a Half-Life 3 game.

The image has been posted by GruffBarbarian in the Half-Life subreddit. It has since gotten 6439 upvotes and the numbers are rising by the minutes. Half-Life fans can join the movement by doing the same, typing "GAME THAT DESERVES A SEQUEL" in all caps in Half-Life 2: Episode 2 nomination section.

But, Valve already knew that. In a interview with The Washington Post back in 2014 where they talked about Valve business model, Valve Co-founder Gabe Newell said: "The company grew out of trying to think about how to design for the specific business challenges we would have. It's sort of a good news/bad news situation that our industry is changing so quickly."

No Man's Sky dev reveals reason behind two month silence

| Nov 28, 2016 10:22 AM CST

One of the major reasons gamers have such a problem with No Man's Sky lies with its developer going silent for a full two months after release. Once players realized how little content the game actually offered, they lambasted the 16-man team at Hello Games, leading to a tumultuous time of distrust.

No Man's Sky dev reveals reason behind two month silence

Now for the first time since the game launched, Hello Games lead Sean Murray--a man who's now seen by gamers with the likes of Peter Molyneaux--reveals exactly why the studio kept so incredibly quiet. Essentially Sean Murray says he didn't want to talk about the game's new Founder's Update until it was 100% completed, but I think he didn't want to over-promise any more content and didn't necessarily want to interact with the fanbase, which has been pretty fractured.

"We hope you enjoy this first proper update. We didn't want to talk about anything in it until it was 100% certain," Murray wrote in a recent Tweet. "We're getting better as quickly as we can for the players who invested in us. Thank you for sticking with us."

No Man's Sky might get a Steam award but not a good one

| Nov 28, 2016 4:32 AM CST

Even with the announced upcoming base building update, No Man's Sky cannot pull itself out of the deceiving zone for many of its fans. The evidence could be a very sad laugh from redditor nicdv by nominating the game: The BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT award. The thread has since received a surprising 3725 upvotes from the subreddit community.

No Man's Sky might get a Steam award but not a good one

Perhaps, It's a direct response to another thread made by redditor BaRKy1911 who suggested players to rally up and vote for a single name for the award.

The top 5 name suggestions will be put into a strawpoll. So far, the entries are ridiculously savage like "Refund of The Year" from CostaRobbedMyHouse, "The Unfinished Awa-" Award by Triburos, "Best Tech Demo of 2016" by alconauts and much more. If you got a few minute to spare, I suggest reading the thread for some healthy laughs.

No Man's Sky Foundation Update adds tons of new content

| Nov 27, 2016 5:36 AM CST

Hello Games has been pretty busy in the past three months, and although the studio alienated its core fanbase, the team has now revealed exactly what they've been working on all this time. The indie devs announced No Man's Sky's new Foundation Update a bit ago, and now they've revealed full details on the massive content update that will ultimately change the game altogether.

No Man's Sky Foundation Update adds tons of new content

The Foundation Update v1.1 sees No Man's Sky taking a big step towards the content that was promised upon launch, adding in a smorgasbord of features like on-planet base building and the option to dock your ship and live inside of a massive freighter in space, two new game modes including a Minecraft-like Creative Mode and a challenging Survival Mode, farming materials and plantlife within your base or freighter, and even the ability to set up camp and build save points and harvesters that automatically gather resources on-the-fly.

Outside of extra content, Hello Games has also optimized a ton of performance options for No Man's Sky on PC. Gamers can now turn off motion blur in the options menu, and the devs have enabled Temporal Anti Aliasing (TAA) to smooth out jaggies and improve visuals.

Why Capcom removed Dead Rising 4's time countdown

| Nov 26, 2016 11:20 PM CST

When you play a Dead Rising game, you're constantly working against the clock: in the original game, you're given 72 hours to complete the zombie-slaying mayhem, and this mechanic carries over into the other games. With Dead Rising 4, Capcom has decided to remove the "rigid" timer feature in order to enable more freedom and not "rush players."

Why Capcom removed Dead Rising 4's time countdown

Many gamers argue that the countdown timer gives Dead Rising a true identity. There's this sense of urgency to everything you do, this feeling that you can't do everything or save everyone, so you have to make some pretty impactful decisions. The timer really brings a sense of realism to the chaos, and goes lengths to build immersion.

But Capcom Vancover decided to cut the countdown timer out, pushing the game into a pure sandbox-style scope akin to a some sort of zombie-infested Grand Theft Auto.

BioWare built Mass Effect: Andromeda from scratch

| Nov 26, 2016 5:22 PM CST

BioWare has put significant effort into Mass Effect: Andromeda, and the game has been built from square one featuring all-new textures, assets, alien worlds, ships, characters, tech, powers--all the vital bits--to ensure optimum performance and quality on DICE's potent Frostbite 3 engine.

BioWare built Mass Effect: Andromeda from scratch

Now that EA has confirmed all of its studios and future games will be powered by DICE's powerful and flexible Frostbite 3 engine, devs like BioWare typically have to make their assets from scratch in order to transition over and ensure games run smoothly on the engine. That's the case for Mass Effect: Andromeda, which uses completely fresh assets and content to propel the series into a true next-gen feel.

Beyond Good and Evil 2 may rival Star Citizen in scope

| Nov 26, 2016 4:08 PM CST

Armed with the power of modern day CPU and GPU tech, the devs at Ubisoft can make finally realize their complete vision for Beyond Good and Evil 2--in many ways, the sequel will be everything the devs weren't able to achieve in the first game, and those ideas have been kept alive for quite some time. Michel Ancel, the creative director behind the project, affirms the game will be massive in scope and will even take on interstellar juggernauts like Star Citizen.

Beyond Good and Evil 2 may rival Star Citizen in scope

Beyond Good and Evil 2 is officially in full-fledged development, with Michel Ancel and Ubisoft Montpellier working in tandem to make it. In fact, the game has been in development for quite some time: in a recent interview with Kotaku, Ancel revealed that he's been working on the game for five years now, and that it's "a very serious development for Ubisoft." The game has taken so long because the tech needed to make it wasn't accessible to everyday consumers until the arrival of current-gen consoles.

Ancel continues by saying that Beyond Good and Evil 2 will have a heavy focus on interplanetary travels--something that wasn't really possible with the first game. And he says it's working.

While everybody is trying to save their wallets from the apocalypse that is Black Friday, Blizzard is trying to give you some good deals reasons to stay at home and away from the crowd by cutting the price of Overwatch almost by half and reducing World of Warcraft price to a mere $4.99. Also, StarCraft 2 and its expansion got a good deal too.

As for StarCraft 2, Wings of Liberty and Heart of the Swarm both cost 10 bucks while the newest expansion pack ,Legacy of the Void, cost 30USD for the digital deluxe edition and 20USD for the standard edition.

Blizzard gets into the Christmas spirit with Overwatch

| Nov 26, 2016 10:30 AM CST

Ever since Overwatch Mexican female hacker/ hero Sombra have been released, fans have been digging furiously into the game files to find every single one of her voice lines and interactions with other heroes. Much to their surprise - they've found the Christmas theme melody alongside some of them.

Blizzard gets into the Christmas spirit with Overwatch

You may ask: "Why would such a tiny little jingle be relevant?" Well, with the existence of this tune, we can safely assume that there will be a Christmas event much like what Blizzard did during Halloween. We can potentially see new skins for characters such as a Santa Claus skin for Tobjorn or Mother Santa for Ana! More maps? New co-op mode? Who knows?

As for Sombra, the majority of her lines are jabs and mockeries to the other heroes' past. One of the new voiceline even indicate Sombra translocator might originate from Tracer's tech. That means Sombra may have stolen it from Winston, the gorilla scientist.
