Crackdown 3 runs at 4K on Xbox Scorpio, arrives in 2017
Crackdown was one of the most addictive gaming experiences on the original Xbox, but it looks like Crackdown 3 might be an awesome experience on the upcoming Xbox Scorpio console.
Microsoft Studios art director Dave Johnson has confirmed Crackdown 3 for holiday 2017 "or earlier" during an interview with Extra Life, adding that Crackdown 3 will support 4K on the Xbox Scorpio. Microsoft has already confirmed first-party games will all run at native 4K resolution on Project Scorpio. The game was originally slated for launch in 2016, but Microsoft delayed it into 2017 for a few different reasons.
Xbox marketing boss Aaron Greenberg said that Crackdown 3 wouldn't launch in 2016 because Microsoft's holiday lineup was already chock full of games, with Microsoft Studios boss Shannon Loftis adding that Crackdown 3 was delayed because the team wanted to spend more time on the campaign.

MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries announced for 2018
Old school gamers will remember the effect that MechWarrior had back in the 90s, but did you know there hasn't been a single-player game in the MechWarrior universe since 2002's MechWarrior 4: Mercenaries?
Piranha Games has been working on MechWarrior Online, and have now just announced MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries - a single-player game that will have gamers aiming for a successful career as a private robot that serves on "behalf of the houses of the Inner Sphere", reports Engadget.
MechWarrior 5: Mercenaries is powered by Unreal Engine, so it should look impressive when it drops in 2018. The developer is promising that you will be able to buy and maintain BattleMechs, but it'll come down to your skills as well.

Knack 2 place further emphasis on 2 player co-op
One of the main launch titles of the PS4 back in 2013, Knack, is getting a sequel. It focus on the 2-player co-op which is something many considered a gimmick in the original.
Instead of the metal looking Knack you've been getting in the first game, you will have a blue version of Knack as your player 2 character. The addition of the second character open up a whole new level of play which the trailer shows you: combo attacks. Working with your buddy and timing the combo attacks right will get you some impressive instance of gameplay. There will be also moments where you and your buddy will be piloting a tank together. That's great right?
With the addition of co-op, it seems like we're going to get better platforming action this time and more detailed sceneries. We will also get some new moves like reflecting projectiles and sword dual-wielding. Old moves will be back too like the element absorption.

Rocket League gets a new map and a DLC car
Rocket League developer Psyonix Games have just announced last night at the Game Awards that they will be releasing a new map called "Starbase ARC" and a new DLC car called "Vulcan" for December 7th.
According to the description of the trailer, Starbase ARC is " an homage to Psyonix's critically-acclaimed mobile title, ARC Squadron, is an octagonally-shaped space station orbiting a desert planet in a distant galaxy. The post added : "Lasers fire whenever goals are scored, starships battle it out in the skies, and planetoids float eerily by in the distance to create one of the most epic Rocket League atmospheres yet."
For the new sleek and star-ship looking "Vulcan", it will cost you $2 if you want to acquire this other homage to ARC Squadron.

Battlefield 1 dev said shovel digging might come back
Reddit is such a wonderful place if you visit it. You got memes, people who are giving tips for free, and developers who spill information for us. How great is that?
Today, Battlefield 1 redditor "WWIflyingace62" suggested that shovels should have their intended function, that is the ability to dig ground with it, in the game. With that, people can dig temporary trenches to use as cover and make their enemies rethink their strategy.
Luckily, a developer of DICE who goes by the name of "Maars_DICELA" gave a pretty shocking revelation: the shovels used to have this function but was later removed because of the "weirdness" it brings to the game. He said there's a possibility that it might come back when the CTE (Community Test Environment) is up and running.

South Korea is getting an online version of Titanfall
We could potentially see another Titanfall game outside of Titanfall 2. It's a game born out of a collaboration between south korean game platform giant Nexon, EA and Respawn entertainment. But first, kudos to Brian Ashcraft and its tipster Sang for spotting the news first over at Kotaku.
Titanfall Online will be an free online title release by Nexon. It will be only available in South Korea with no plans for international release yet. Tipster Sang said there will be a test play on December 15 to December 21 for South Korea players.
Upon discovering the official website of Titanfall Online (I had to use Google Chrome translate feature to get understandable info), here's what I found:

The Last of Us 2 is Ellie's harrowing story of hate
Naughty Dog reveals new story details about The Last of Us Part II, discussing how the sequel will be a polar opposite from the first PlayStation exclusive.
The Last of Us Part II is a direct counter to the original game--the first game was about love and bonding, the sequel is about dark malice. The long-awaited sequel will star a 19 year-old Ellie who's driven by malicious burning hate. While the game will follow Joel and Ellie, players will see through the eyes of Ellie as she turns the world red with blood in her hate-filled quest for revenge.
Ellie has changed a lot since we saw her last: she's grizzled, tough, deadly. The trailer opens up with her singing an eerie tune among the bloody corpses of her foes, and as Joel walks in with a familiar "Hey Kiddo," her eyes are smoldering orbs of raw rage.

Death Stranding analysis: breaking down the bizarre
Kojima Productions has dropped its second Death Stranding trailer, giving us a ton more questions than answers. The footage is a monument to the weird, a shrine to the bizarre, but it also has quite a few clues and possible symbolic references, especially if you've been following our coverage of the game. So without further adieu, let's jump right in those inky depths, shall we?
Note: Kotaku recently wrote an article saying that "something wild happens when you watch the Death Stranding trailers side-by-side," directly correlating the disappearance of the baby in the first trailer to the appearance of the baby in the second trailer.
They say that the transition is instantaneous, but it's not: there's a 30 second+ disparity between the moments in these trailers. I'm not saying the theory is wrong, but the whole thing about the child being instantly transported is.

Marvel vs Capcom 3: Ultimate coming to PS4 later today
After announcing a brand new entry in the flagship fighter, Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite, Sony followed up with a surprise: Marvel vs Capcom 3: Ultimate will be available on PlayStation 4 later today.
Both Marvel vs Capcom 2 and 3 were pulled from digital storefronts due to clashes with Capcom and Disney's ownership of the Marvel brand. Now Capcom and Disney are playing nice, the juggernaut decided to let up and allow Sony to put MvC3: Ultimate back on digital store shelves.
The only potential drawback of Capcom and Disney's partnership is that Marvel vs Capcom: Ultimate will only have characters from the Marvel Cinematic Universe. So that means no X-Men or similar mutants--unless they have their own MCU-owned movie series. The reveal trailer only showed Captain Marvel and Iron Man battling Capcom's Ryu and Mega Man, and that should be a huge indicator on what to expect from MvC: Infinite's character roster.

The Last of Us 2 announced
Naughty Dog has officially announced The Last of Us Part II at PlayStation Experience 2016, with fans roaring like crazy at the reveal.
The Last of Us Part II is coming, and Ellie and Joel are set on a bloody revenge mission. "What're you doin, Kiddo? Are you really gonna go through with this?" Joel asks, leaning on the door. "I'm gonna find...and I'm gonna kill...every...last...one of them," a grown-up Ellie proclaims in the footage, after singing a rather eerie acoustic melody. There's a trail of dead bodies, blood and total carnage in her path, so I'd say she means it.

Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite announced, coming in 2017
In a not so surprising move, Sony and Capcom have revealed a brand new Marvel vs Capcom game that might be powered by the same engine as Street Fighter V.
The brief Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite reveal introduced a cutscene with Capcom characters like Mega Man and Ryu going up against Iron Man and Captain Marvel. Now we have an awesome fast-paced gameplay trailer tho showcase, causing tons of hype within the fighting community. As we originally reported, Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite will borrow its heroes from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, so we likely won't see any X-Men show up this time around.
MvC: Infinite is launching 2017 on PlayStation 4, with official gameplay footage coming at the Capcom Cup. We'll be sure to keep you updated when the trailer drops, so keep a look out for it later today.

New Uncharted: The Lost Legacy announced
Sony announced a brand new standalone adventure in the Uncharted franchise called The Lost Legacy at the PSX 2016 event in Anaheim.
Uncharted: The Lost Legacy won't feature Nathan Drake. In fact, the story chapter features beloved characters Chloe Frazer and Nadine Ross taking on despotic militant overlords in India. The brief intro showed a distinct and colorful style, complete with Chloe and Nadine's in-your-face femme fatale carnage and a wartorn backdrop.
Actually we thought this was the new Tomb Raider game--it had all the trimmings: the covert stealth ops, the bad-ass martial arts, the daredevil scaling of heights, and, of course, a dynamic and strife-ridden environment.

Update: Hideo Kojima has just confirmed that Death Stranding will run on Guerrilla Games' Decima engine. This engine was specifically built from the ground up to harness the full capacity of Sony's new PS4 Pro console, and is the same engine that powers Horizon: Zero Dawn.
Original story is as follows.

Final Fantasy XV first impressions
Final Fantasy XV is great, but it's also quite...weird, and makes a big transition from the traditional fantasy-based experiences that fans are used to. There is fantasy and magic in the game, but it mostly has a distinct modern feeling, but even this modernity is stylish and unique in its own way.
FFXV is homely but also fantastically entertaining, with a story about male bonding but also an all-out world war that threatens to tear the world asunder. There's normal NPCs walking around, but there's also insane Magitek creations and monstrosities that can reap the entire world itself. It's a strange mash-up, but Square Enix somehow makes it feel normal--but the facade can break away at times.
When you fire the game up, it assures that the adventure is a "Final Fantasy for beginners and fans," making it out to be a great stepping point for new players. But it's really not...at least not in my opinion. I wouldn't tell anyone to start with Final Fantasy XV: not because it's a bad game, but because it's very confusing at the start.

Del Toro: F*ck Konami, killing Silent Hills was moronic
Renowned movie director and Kojima's longtime friend Guillermo Del Toro tells Konami off once and for all, exclaiming "F*ck Konami" on his Twitter feed.
Last night at The Game Awards, Hideo Kojima, finally free of Konami's yoke, accepted the award on stage that Konami denied him a year ago. This inspired all kinds of feelings from Kojima, his friend Guillermo del Toro, and gamers everywhere, but most chiefly was ire at Konami for their treatment of Kojima.
In fact, Guillermo Del Toro, who was originally working alongside Hideo Kojima to make the cancelled Silent Hills, voiced what everyone was thinking: "F*ck Konami," he wrote on Twitter. "Konami cancelling SH after PT is one of the most moronic things I've ever witnessed."

Ubisoft: PC-like consoles was a 'good decision'
Ubisoft has had some good things to say about the Nintendo Switch console, but they've also come out praising the PS4 Pro and upcoming Xbox Scorpio.
During a recent interview with Polygon, Ubisoft French Studios boss Xavier Poix said that the quicker development cycle of these consoles is a sign that Microsoft and Sony have moved into something Poix defines as evolutionary cycles, versus revolutionary cycles - something we've been doing until now. Well, except the Xbox One and PS4 were not that much better than the Xbox 360 and PS3 - whatever.
Poix said: "I think the way the home console industry is evolving is quite interesting. The main difference I'm seeing from the last generation to this new one is that the architecture has turned more into a PC architecture. No more of the PlayStation 3 being really, very specifically designed and quite hard to develop on from the start".

8 minutes of new Prey gameplay footage released
I still remember Prey from the 90s, where the developers wanted to make - what sounded at the time, one of the scariest, and realistic shooters of all time. But, it was washed away and watered down and released a few years ago - and now, it has been rebooted again for release in 2017.
Well, during The Game Awards 2016, Bethesda showed off a new 8-minute gameplay trailer to Prey, along with a new super creepy cerebral trailer with some 2 minutes of footage.
Bethesda also released the official world premiere Prey trailer, which we posted about - and I'll embed above for your viewing pleasure. The trailer has Creative Director Raphael Colantonio and Lead Designer Ricardo Bare's narration.
