Black Ops 4 shows up in new Gamestop leak
A Gamestop employee sheds new light on recent Black Ops 4 rumors.
Listings for Black Ops 4 merchandise has purportedly shown up in Gamestop's internal registry, Call of Duty news website Charlie Intel reports. According to the snapshots sent by an anonymous Gamestop employee to the website, Treyarch's latest Call of Duty entry will indeed be Black Ops 4--assuming, of course, the pictures aren't faked.
Activision has yet to confirm the next game in the annual Call of Duty series, but we do know Treyarch has been developing the game for some time. The company should announce new info at its E3 2018 event in June.

Geralt of Rivia could crossover to a new game this year
The gruff hero-Witcher Geralt could slash his way into a new game sometime this year--what could it be?
Today on Twitter CD Projekt RED Community Lead Marcin Momot teased the White Wolf could cross over to a mystery game, and lots of gamers believe it could be Soul Calibur VI.
"What if Geralt was going to step out of the @witchergame for the very first time to make an appearance in one of the upcoming games later this year?," Momot wrote on Twitter. By the way it's worded Momot's statement might actually mean Geralt could show up in an upcoming game trailer that drops in 2018, not necessarily a game that's slated for 2018 (which Soul Calibur VI is).

Far Cry 5's arcade looks like a perfect storm of engagement
Assuming Far Cry 5 sells well, its built-in map editor should be a breeding grounds for engagement.
Marrying online elements with campaign-based singleplayer games isn't always easy, but Ubisoft seems to have taken some big cues from its competitors with Far Cry 5. The shooter, which will be powered by live services in the form of co-op, multiplayer, and microtransactions, will also have a mode called Far Cry Arcade that essentially lets players make their own maps and share/play them with friends online.
What's more is the sheer freedom Ubisoft is giving gamers, making it a kind of mod-esque Snapmap-style editor that gives players an interactive multiplayer component to boot. Armed with the map editor, players can create their own playground of chaos for others to enjoy--all of which is instantly accessible any time during the main game.

Diablo III coming to Switch after all, sources say
Diablo III may indeed make its way onto Nintendo's portable handheld-console hybrid after all, despite Blizzard's comments.
A bit ago Blizzard posted something interesting on Twitter: a Diablo-faced nightlight being switched on an off. This, naturally, seemed to amplify the rumors of a Diablo III port onto the Nintendo Switch...however the company later stepped in to say it was just an "engagement piece" and it has "nothing new to announce." But it appears the ARPG could crash onto the console anyway.
Diablo III is currently in production and development on the Nintendo Switch, key sources have told Eurogamer's Tom Phillips. The official reveal, sources say, isn't slated for a few more months--presumably during Nintendo's E3 showcase, or maybe a special Direct stream--and the team working on the game was actually surprised at Blizzard's not-so-coy Tweet.

GTA 6 rumored to feature female lead, set in Vice City
Rockstars highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto 6 hasn't been confirmed by the developer as of yet, but recent information from a inside source that desires to stay anonymous has given some details on the title.
News of GTA 6 being released has been floating around since 2015 but with this new rumor we have a better idea of where the game might be sitting. The Know has posted a video saying that the game is to be set in Vice City and will be having a female as a lead role.
Unfortunately, the anonymous source didn't reveal whether the game will be giving players the ability to switch between multiple characters like in Grand Theft Auto V. The video released by The Know also details that the game isn't to be expected for a further 3 - 4 years as Rockstar will be throwing all their attention onto the upcoming Red Dead Redemption 2.

Horizon: Zero Dawn producer may be working on new Ubisoft IP
Ex Horizon: Zero Dawn senior producer Samrat Sharma is now working at Ubisoft Toronto on an unannounced game, and we have an inkling its the mysterious new IP the company confirmed a while back.
Ever since May 2017 we've known Ubisoft is working on yet another new IP for release in its Fiscal Year 2019 timeline (which ends March 2019). Based on the available clues, it's possible the Horizon: Zero Dawn producer is helping develop either the new IP, or one of the new AAA games Ubisoft is developing--possibly the game it actually delayed past its current fiscal year. It could even be that the delayed project was in fact the new IP, too.
Whatever the new franchise turns out to be, having the help of a key player who worked on one of the best open-world games of this gen certainly helps--and might give clues the IP is open-world (again). Also Ubisoft seems quite confident in it: the company's Fiscal Q3'18 report says it expected the game to make up 5 million sales during the period.

New Prey DLC could take place on Pytheas moon base
Bethesda may be releasing a new DLC to Prey, one of the best games of 2017.
If you've read my Prey review then you already know it's a fantastic, haunting, mind-bending experience that absolutely should continue with expansions and DLC. And apparently Arkane might actually keep it going: a recent post on the official Prey Twitter account strongly teases a new DLC pack that will take place on the moon. If you read my review, played Prey, and followed my advice, you should remember the Pytheas moon base from a book--and an optional side-quest.
No one knows for sure what happened on the base itself, but the in-game book mentioned something about underground tunnels and experiments...which already sounds intriguing. I kept wanting to know what's out there, and I was hoping I'd get to actually venture to the base at some point in the game. But like most things in Prey, nothing is as it seems...so we won't actually know for sure until the DLC drops. Or maybe Arkane was just teasing for fun and Bethesda doesn't plan to greenlight more content.

Report: Battlefield V will have co-op, episodic campaign
The next Battlefield game will reportedly be set in WWII, but according to new info, the game could be somewhat similar to DICE's WWI shooter Battlefield I in a few key ways.
Battlefield V--working title--will apparently have a special co-operative mode that allows players to team up and tackle objectives together, says a new report from VentureBeat. The publication recently confirmed the veracity of the Battlefield V picture leak, and has now followed up with some more info about the upcoming shooter.
Sources close to the matter tell VentureBeat that the next Battlefield game will also have an episodic campaign similar to Battlefield I that changes perspectives on a mission-by-mission basis. No exact details on the levels have been confirmed, but expect the missions to be slices of WWII versus a big arcing storyline like Battlefield 4. Other details include a prone stance that can be used in multiplayer, hearkening back to more tactical play in Battlefield 4.

Monster Hunter: World is Capcom's new crowning jewel
Capcom's new online-based Monster Hunter: World is a runaway success that keeps breaking sales milestones.
Monster Hunter: World has now amassed 7.5 million units in combined digital sales and shipments, Capcom today confirmed. This follows last month's news of 6 million shipments worldwide, signalling final sales could balloon even farther. Remember that shipments aren't technically sales to consumers and represent sell-in and not sell-through, but digital sales are direct to gamers.
As of now, with this combined figure, Monster Hunter: World sits as the best-selling game in Capcom's history. The company has a handy list of Platinum Titles, or games that have sold more than 1 million copies worldwide, and the previous record holder was Resident Evil 5 which has sold 7.3 million units worldwide.

Soulcalibur VI - Nightmare makes a BIG introduction
I remember playing Soulcalibur II back when I was quite young, now one of the series' fan-favorites and a character that I personally remember playing, Nightmare makes his debut.
Siegfried or better known as Nightmare has been introduced to Soulcalibur VI by Producer Motohiro Okubo. Okubo discusses how Nightmare is one the more integral characters to the series.
Okubo talks about how they are quite impressed with the game that they have created and more so overall Okubo just wanted to say "that this game has ended up being absurdly cool" and that he "definitely encourage you all to pick it up and give it a shot."

New Far Cry 5 trailer lays out additional Bill of Rights
Ubisoft have decided to launch a new trailer for their upcoming Far Cry 5, the new trailer shows an additional Bill of Rights which concentrates on "arming bears."
Far Cry 5 seems to be concentrating on arming animals instead of players arming themselves. As we can see from the above trailer players will be able to use dogs, bears and even cougars to take out their enemies.
The rest of the Rights on the Bill contain leeway for players to 'Deliver Unusual Punishment, Do Without the Process of Law, Rain Down Destruction, A Partner in Crime, Flex your American Muscle, Take 'em Out of the Ballgame, Be Resurrected and finally Blow **** Up!'

Battlefield V microtransactions rumor: will be cosmetic only
EA went through enough controversy over Star Wars Battlefront II and its ridiculous microtransactions, so the company is going to be taking a different route when it comes to DICE's upcoming Battlefield V.
Kotaku is reporting that it has sources that claim DICE will only include cosmetic-oriented microtransactions for their new Battlefield game, with these real-world transactions only changing things cosmetically, and not changing your abilities in-game.
The site said: "No one's gonna do any pay-to-win stuff anymore. We didn't take any of the loot box controversy lightly".

Far Cry 5 will have convenience microtransactions
Surprising absolutely no one, Far Cry 5 will indeed have optional time-saving packages that gamers can buy from a digital storefront.
Back in May 2017 Ubisoft flat out confirmed that all of its games will be powered by live services, even singleplayer games. So the recent confirmation that Far Cry 5 will have a similar monetization model as Assassin's Creed: Origins shouldn't be shocking one bit--in fact I expected as such, especially with Far Cry 5's full online co-operative element. Remember that Ubisoft loves cashing in on engagement, and multiplayer is a massive driver for engagement--even co-op action.
"All our games now are bringing live operations," said Ubisoft CEO and co-founder Yves Guillemot in the financial report. "But the operations are all different. Ghost Recon's live operations are different from Rainbow Six's, and will be different from Assassin's Creed. Clearly the philosophy of all the games that we make is to be able to justify and bring live operations to titles for as long as we think it fits for the game."

Sony emphasizes first-party games in next fiscal year
Sony has recently announced a few key changes to its executive teams and that the company's gaming division will target more emphasis on its first-party game releases.
Now that current Sony CEO Kazuo Hirai is leaving Sony by April 1, the company has outlined a new roadmap that sees its various American, European, and Japanese branches working closer together than ever before. All of the branches--SIEA, SIEE, and SIEJA--marketing divisions will report directly to company deputy president and global sales/marketing exec Jim Ryan. Current Sony Interactive Entertainment President and CEO John Kodera will handle the American and Japanese segments whereas Ryan will spearhead the European markets.
Although Sony has yet to announce its new Mid-Year Plan--which typically outlines 4 or so years of planned operations and strategies--for the PlayStation brand, the company did state that its first-party slate of games is more important than ever.

Sea of Thieves hit with another scale test ahead of launch
Rare has decided that Sea of Thieves needs another scale test before its launch, this time the test will be conducted on March 4th in just a couple days.
Microsoft and Rare are working tirelessly to make the Sea of Thieves launch to be a stable one as all of the previous server tests provided them with a great amount of information. These scale tests are designed to put major strain on the server, this is done by allowing a large amount of players to join but unfortunately for the players this causes performance issues for everyone involved.
Rare has taken to their Sea of Thieves website to announce the news, saying that the scale test will be running from Friday, March 2nd, at 2 a.m. PT until Sunday, March 4th, at 2 a.m. PT.

Mulaka receives a trailer with its debut to the Switch
Mulaka released on the Nintendo Switch yesterday and to celebrate the launch Nintendo have released a new trailer for the title.
The trailer appears to be quite similar to that of The Legend of Zelda: Breathe of the Wild but definitely does have a certain uniqueness to it.
The third-person action adventure that is based on Mexican mythology takes players through "the rich indigenous culture of the Tarahumara." For those that do not know what Mulaka is the description reads as such "Renowned for their impressive running abilities, embark on the journey of a Sukurúame - a Tarahumara shaman - as you fight back the foulness corrupting the land, while drawing upon the powers of demigods. Mulaka is available now on Nintendo Switch!"
