PlayStation VR sales break 3 million
Sony's PlayStation VR headset has broken 3 million sales worldwide, the company today announced.
While console-powered headsets are better suited for VR gaming than dedicated PC-driven HMDs like the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive, the market is dominated by cheaper mobile VR headsets. Sony has still managed to steal quite a bit of VR hardware sales from its competitors and remains a dominant player in the space--case in point: the PSVR has sold 3 million headsets globally. The headset has done well insofar as unit sales since it was released in October 2016. Sony's PSVR topped 1 million sales as of June 2017, and as Twitter's Dom's Playing notes, hit 2 million units nearly a year after its release.
At the same time, however, the headset's attach rate remains rather low. Sony has shipped over 82 million PS4 consoles as of Q2'18, which means about 3.7% of all PS4 owners actually have a PSVR too.

Dr. Strange/Avengers buildings spotted in Spider-Man trailer
Insomniac Games' Spider-Man title for the PS4 is moving closer and closer to its release date and the hype is no where near slowing down. To add to that snowball of hype, a new trailer has been released via the IGN YouTube Channel and it reveals some most notable structures from the Marvel universe.
The trailer has been titled New York City Open-World trailer and showcases Spidy flinging around his concrete jungle playground and it looks absolutely incredible. The trailer is narrated by J. Jonah Jameson and Jameson is throwing the blame for the cities crimes on Spider-Man, Peter Parker then calls into the station under the allias Peter Patterson to defend him. Jameson continues and we can see from the trailer that these 'swan dives' that are mentioned are in front of the Avengers Tower.
Not only was the Avengers Tower spotted within the trailer but so was the Dr. Strange building. That is right, the Sanctum Santorum can be seen at exactly 0.40 seconds into the video. It is unclear what kind of interaction players will be able to do with Stranges building, but at least it can be confirmed that it is in the game. Marvel's Spider-Man will be releasing exclusively on the PlayStation 4 on September 7th.

Metro Exodus Aurora Limited Edition announced
Metro Exodus is one of the most-anticipated games of 2019, with developer 4A Games and publisher Deep Silver not only releasing a new trailer for Metro Exodus today, but they also announced pre-order bonuses and a new special limited edition version of the game.
The new bundle is called the Aurora Limited Edition, which should be released to only a few retailers. The Metro Exodus Aurora Limited Edition comes with a bunch of physical stuff, not just in-game DLC or bonuses. It'll include:
I don't know why, but Deep Silver didn't announce any pricing for the Aurora Limited Edition - which is silly IMO. We know that Metro Exodus Standard Edition costs $60 while the Gold Edition comes in at $85. There are some pre-order bonuses for all three platforms: Xbox One, PS4, and PC. Even if you order the standard release of Metro Exodus but pre-order it now, you'll receive the bonuses.

Battlefield V pre-order sales 'weak', as ex-DICE boss leaves
EA isn't sitting in a good spot with Battlefield V with the company starting off on the wrong foot with angered gamers over some of the choices they made within the setting of the game, to say the least. Now there's news of pre-order numbers being low, and that's not good at all.
The company recently lost Patrick Soderlund, who was the ex-CEO of DICE until EA acquired the company back in 2006. Soderlund had high-up roles within EA after the transition, and is now leaving the company.
Now there's Sarah Needleman of the Wall Street Journal reporting that Cowen Group analysts have that that pre-order sales for Battlefield V "have been weak". These analysts are going by things said to them by EA connections, and if we look at someone as instrumental as Soderlund leaving EA two months before the launch of Battlefield V, one of EA's largest franchises... this does look weird.

THQ Nordic has 34 unannounced projects in development
On the heels of its recent Timesplitters acquisition, THQ Nordic confirms a rather robust lineup of in-development games.
THQ Nordic currently has 51 projects in the works, the company announced in today's Q2 financial results. This fifty-strong slate is the company's "strongest pipeline to date," the filings say, the majority of which are unannounced games. The publisher says 34 of its 51 games are unannounced titles.
However all of the projects may not be top-tier games from key franchises, and instead may include partner titles, third-party-owned games, and licensed projects. Renown studios like Saints Row dev Volition Entertainment and Dambuster Studios are both developing "top secret" AAA titles, the report says, and the company recently issued new shares in a bid to raise funds for game development, acquisitions, and operations.

THQ buys Timesplitters IP
The fan-favorite 2000's Timesplitters series has been bought by THQ Nordic as the publisher expands its IP lineup.
THQ Nordic has been snapping up studios, companies and IPs for a while now, and the most notable acquisition was that of Saints Row and Metro publisher Koch Media back in February. Now the Swedish games-maker has snapped up rights to the Timesplitters and Second Sight sci-fi game franchises under its Koch Media subsidiary.
As Koch Media's CEO asserts, this acquisition should see a new Timesplitters in the works.

Dark Souls Remastered arrives on the Nintendo Switch Oct 19
After the delays of Dark Souls Remastered debuting to the Nintendo Switch, news has surfaced on the official Dark Souls Twitter account, we now have a solid release date for when the game will be released.
Dark Souls Remastered was originally planned for release alongside the other iterations of the game back in May, since then Bandai Namco has been awfully quite about the Nintendo Switch version of the game being delayed for so long. Unfortunately, there hasn't even been any details provided to explain why there has been such a hefty delay on the handheld version of the game.
The Nintendo Switch version of the game will still release with the 'Solaire of Astora' amiibo, which when used will unlock the "Praise the Sun" emote within the game. About a week a go, there was an email sent out by Amazon to some people who pre-ordered Dark Souls Remastered for the Nintendo Switch, it revealed that the release date for the title was meant to be October 1st, that rumor has now been cleared up with the official announcement by Nintendo and the Dark Souls Twitter account. Dark Souls Remastered for the Nintendo Switch is scheduled for release on October 19th, for further information visit the official Dark Souls website here.

Resident Evil 2 Premium Edition costs a huge $900
Capcom has just revealed an insane new collector's edition version of its upcoming remake of Resident Evil 2, with the upcoming Biohazard RE: 2 Z Version Premium Edition packing everything including the kitchen sink.
Biohazard RE: 2 Z Version Premium Edition will cost 99,800 yen (or around $900) and it will include the normal collector's edition goodies, which includes a huge 12-inch statue of Leon, the enhanced RE2 soundtrack, and an art book. This will total for around $225 if you get it on its own without the Z Version Premium Edition package, something that packs a damn Qwerkywriter Bluetooth mechanical keyboard that has high-end Cherry blue key switches and even a mount for your smartphone.
If you buy a modified Qwerkywriter S model, you'll be shelling out $249.99 on its own. It might sound like a bit much, but in the original Resident Evil games (weren't those the days?!) you could only save your game by finding a typewriter and ink ribbons that were scattered through the world. While the $250 keyboard doesn't look much like the in-game typewriters, it's a cool thing to own for Resident Evil fans.

Dishonored series is sleeping for now, says Arkane
Arkane's popular Dishonored series probably won't make a comeback in the near future, a key developer said.
Games like Dishonored and Prey prove the devs at Arkane are masters at their craft. Whether it be superlative world-building or intriguing story-telling, the team always makes something special. But what are they working on next? Arkane isn't ready to spill the beans, but they did say Dishonored is pretty much asleep right now.
"I can't say definitively what might happen down the road, anything could happen, but Dishonored is resting for now. As far as pure immersive sims go, I don't know if we're going to continue to make like a carbon copy--this qualifies as an immersive sim and it's the only thing we're ever going to make," Arkane Studios lead designer Ricardo Bare told VG247's Kick McKeand in a recent interview.

Bandai Namco may be making a new horror game
Bandai Namco is mostly known for games like Tekken, Dragon Ball Z, and Naruto, but the publisher may be jumping into Capcom's backyard with a horror game.
The Japanese games-maker recently launched a site with the tab text of summer horror project, indicating the company is developing their own thriller/horror game. The website is cryptic and only gives a few clues. We see what appears to be a defunct apartment home being recorded by a lower-res camera, illuminated with a strange orange sun glow cast upon it. I personally get a very outdoors-y P.T. vibe from the image.
Apart from "domas," which could refer to the game's name or something else, we have a small teaser via the Twitter button: "Appears a mysterious site? Something happens this summer..." The footage's timestamp reads 8/30/2018 so it's possible we could get a reveal on August 30.
