Dying Light 2 will jump in with more parkour based combat
So you enjoyed Techland Games' Dying Light and also like a solid battle royale experience? Well, both of those things have now been combined, introducing Dying Light: Bad Blood and also more information regarding Dying Light 2.
The very well received Dying Light is soon to get a sequel titled Dying Light 2. Ahead of the games planned launch next year, Lead Designer Tymon Smektala has spoken out in an interview with Edge Magazine. Smektala says that Dying Light 2 will take players into a 'Modern Dark Age' and that "Everything is scarce, resources are extremely rare, there is nearly no technology and if there is technology it's things that people were able to keep running after the fall. When you think of medieval times, there are all those things that come to mind instantly. Intrigue, infidelity, harsh laws; you steal something and your hand gets cut off. The relations between people, between the people in power and those not as fortunate, we're using those archetypes in our story."
Smektala also reveals that within Dying Light 2 players can expect much more parkour based combat, "In the first game when you used parkour in combat it was mostly as a finisher, like drop-kicking an enemy off a rooftop. In Dying Light 2 we've added a lot of moves that let you create an opening, to start an encounter or to do something during that encounter." At the moment Techland is planning on releasing Dying Light 2 sometime next year, but the title could be subjected to a delay if the developers feel as if they need more time. If you want to check out more about Dying Light 2, visit the official website here.

Black Ops 4 breaks Activision sales records
Black Ops 4 makes a big sales splash in Activision's mighty digital ocean.
As predicted by many analysts and much to Activison's delight, Black Ops 4 is a digital sales powerhouse on PS4, Xbox One and PC. The shooter has set a new digital launch day record as the "biggest day one release" in the company's storied history, smashing the previous record held by Call of Duty WWII. Remember this is raw full game sales worldwide and doesn't include purchases of microtransactions or other digital content.
What's more is that Black Ops 4 is now the best-selling day one PS4 game on the PS Store, and even became a best-selling on the Xbox One marketplace to boot. Exact full game sales weren't announced, but analyst firm Piper Jaffray predicts Black Ops 4 will sell anywhere from 21.5 to 23 million copies by December 31, 2018.

Message glitch soft-bricking PS4s
A new messaging bug can glitch up and soft-brick your PS4, forcing a factory reset.
Multiple Reddit posts report a new frustrating PlayStation Network bug that can essentially temporarily break your PS4's firmware. According to the posts, receiving and opening the message is enough to bug out your PS4 console's internal software and cause it to stop functioning. Malicious gamers are sending out the post en masse via group chats, so be sure to set your settings to private as soon as possible.
The offending messages apparently have the word "Juegas" and a strange symbol that can't be recognized by the PS4. Once the message is opened the PS4 crashes and users typically have to start in Safe Mode and rebuild the database. You can circumvent this by checking all messages via PlayStation.com or the PlayStation App, or setting your PSN account privacy to restrict all incoming messages.

Capcom doubles down on remasters, new IP
Capcom, like any big-name publisher or games developer, has a strong layered business model that includes multiple focuses like new IPs, re-releases and remasters, and new mainline titles.
Capcom is doing quite well for itself and is keen on keeping this lofty position for as long as possible. Monster Hunter: World is a roaring success with over 8.3 million copies sold globally, and helped push Capcom's Q1'18 profits by a mighty 647%. But the company hopes this is just the beginning.
To ensure long-term success Capcom will have a tiered business model. New releases in its strongest franchises like Monster Hunter, Resident Evil, and Street Fighter will be the stars of each fiscal year, with catalog sales, re-masters, and re-releases acting as supplementary revenue generators. New DLC such as paid expansions or free updates will help push catalog engagement while Capcom reaches far back into its games vault to throw out remasters and collections on platforms like the Nintendo Switch.

15% off deal on Call of Duty Black Ops 4 Battle.net key
The clock has struck midnight Eastern Time and the highly anticipated Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is now live on the PC. If you've been watching launch streams on Twitch and YouTube and have decided to make the plunge, the best legitimate deal online as of writing is at digital retailer Green Man Gaming, where they are offering a limited time release week deal on Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 for 15% off.
Given GMG is an authorized Activision Blizzard retailer - this is one of the few places online where you can scoop up the Battle.net key at a discount. You'll need to act fast though because as of writing it appears the deal will end later today on release date (GMG is likely changing the discount from 15% to a more modest 7% to 10%, based on past experiences).

GeForce 416.34 drivers released, ready for COD: Black Ops 4
NVIDIA has released a new set of GeForce drivers that have graphics optimizations for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 and other games that are due out for release in the coming weeks.
The new GeForce 416.34 drivers have optimizations for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, Soulcaliber VI, and GRIP. Soulcaliber VI is out next week while the release of GRIP is still a few weeks away. There are the usual bug fixes and issues solved, these include: fixes to the GeForce GTX 1080 Ti and the random DPC watchdog error with multi-GPU setups on PLX-based motherboards. SLI and HDR in Battlefield 1 is fixed with menu errors when changing from 144Hz to 120Hz.
NVIDIA also took the time to warn of issues using GeForce Experience and the Alt-Z in-game overlay in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, with the company explaining:

Destiny 2 Forsaken will soon come with all expansions
Destiny 2's big new Forsaken expansion-game-update-thing will soon come with all previous expansions for free (the way it should've been in the first place).
One of the most frustrating things about Destiny is the weird decision to gate off content behind expansions. If you don't buy the expansions, you're not just locked out of new content, but sometimes rotating weekly content too. So you're really pushed to buying the DLC. This happened in the original Destiny, and again in Destiny 2. But with Forsaken, Destiny 2 pulled a trick move that didn't give buyers access to the previous expansions for free. Unlike The Taken King, which rebooted Destiny the same way Forsaken did for Destiny 2, you had to pay for everything.
Now after constantly going back and forth between pissing off and delighting its playerbase, Bungie is redeeming itself again. Starting October 16 all Forsaken purchases will come with the Curse of Osiris and Warmind expansions for free, Bungie announced. If you've already purchased Forsaken and the expansions separately, well...you'll get some small tokens of appreciation like a shader, an emblem and emote, and some consumables. Boy am I glad I didn't buy Forsaken at launch. Don't worry, though, Activision has something else for you to buy like the $30 Forsaken season pass (yes, there's a season pass for an expansion).

Diablo: Reign of Terror may be name of new Diablo project(s)
Blizzard should unveil a bunch of new Diablo announcements at Blizzcon 2018, and there's a slim chance one of them is called Reign of Terror.
New merchandise spotted on the Blizzard Store could hint at a new Diablo game. Two pieces of the merch--a poster and a shirt--are called Diablo: Reign of Terror and show some snazzy new, non-Diablo III artwork of the Lord of Terror. Remember the last game had Diablo join with the Prime and Great Evils to become a monstrous conjoined demon. This art shows him all alone, hinting at new developments.
But at the same time this could simply be generic merch and nothing more. Reign of Terror could just be the general name for the art itself rather than a new game, and honestly I think this is more likely. Blizzard is known for teases--its Twitter advert shows four Diablo shotglasses which hint at Diablo IV--so it could go either way.

Assassins' Creed: Odyssey's Spartan kick is the best
Assassin's Creed: Odyssey has lots of new features and tweaks, but one of the most satisfying has you flexing your mighty heroic calves.
I love it when games add over-the-top abilities that are as fun to use the first time as the 500th time. The latest ancient Greek-themed Assassin's Creed achieves this with its Spartan kick, which channels the machismo ridiculousness of the movie 300 and sends enemies into ragdolls while making you feel like a badass every single time you do it. And I mean every single time.
I probably use this ability more than any other (well besides Second Wind for obvious reasons) because it's so fun. It has a hugely practical use too: not only will it interrupt an enemy's power attack, but you can launch a poor hapless soul off the edge of a mountain and watch them fall like Wile E. Coyote. I've done this countless times and it just never ever gets old. Spartan kick is a gift that keeps on giving. It's been a weapon in my arsenal for survival right from the beginning, and has helped me fell foes two or sometimes even three levels higher than me. I've gotten into lots of shenanigans with mercenaries that've been quelled thanks to my proud Spartan legs.

Bethesda opens new branch in Moscow
Bethesda widens its international scope with a new publishing branch in Moscow, Russia.
Although Bethesda has expanded with new dev branches in Austin and Dallas to help with the company's new Starfield IP, this new Moscow office isn't a games development studio. Instead the Moscow branch will oversee sales and marketing of games in the region from Bethesda Softworks' consortium of studios.
"The opening of the office in Moscow is a very exciting moment for Bethesda. We have an incredible roster of upcoming games including Fallout 76, The Elder Scrolls: Blades, RAGE 2, Wolfenstein: Cyberpilot, Wolfenstein: Youngblood and DOOM Eternal, as well as a number of live titles that continue to perform well including The Elder Scrolls Online, Quake Champions, and The Elder Scrolls: Legends," said Sean Brennan, Managing Director, Bethesda Europe.

Knights of the Old Republic fan remake killed by Lucasfilm
After years of hard work the Unreal Engine 4 remake of KOTOR is now dead.
Poem Studios had an ambitious dream of rebuilding BioWare's beloved RPG Knights of the Old Republic in Unreal Engine 4. The project was called Apeiron, and it was described as a "remake and remastering of the original game with added content, new world's, missions, HUD, inventory, items, and companions.". But that dream has predictably been squashed by Lucasfilm.
Lucasfilm sent a cease and desist letter to the devs prompting them to stop the project, destroy all code, and remove any KOTOR images from its website and social media platforms. "It's with a great sadness that I'm posting today; I recently received a letter from Lucasfilm instructing Poem to end production on Apeiron. After a few days, I've exhausted my options to keep it afloat; we knew this day was a possibility. I'm sorry and may the force be with you," the devs wrote on Twitter.

Fallout 76 and West Virginia's Tourist Department partner up
Bethesda are really going all out for Fallout 76, with now a recent announcement coming from the West Virginia's Tourism Office saying the developer has partnered up with them for mutually beneficial advertising.
According to the announcement, Betheda will be partnering up with The West Virginia Tourism Office to promote the upcoming Fallout 76. The partnership is planned to be mutually beneficial to both companies and they believe the popularity of Fallout 76 could encourage people to visit the state of West Virginia or even cause people to move there.
The deal will require both companies to work in unison to correctly "educate players about West Virginia's unique landscape and culture." West Virginia Governor, Jim Justice spoke out about the announcement and said "It's finally time the rest of the world sees what a gem West Virginia is. For years, I've been saying we have it all: beautiful scenery, the best people you could ask for, and more. And now, we get to share a piece of that with people all over the world through the unique lens of this video game." Fallout 76 is planned for release on November 14th for the Xbox One, PS4 and PC. For more information, visit the official Fallout 76 website here.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance DLC 'Amorous Adventures', Oct 16th
This time round, developer of Kingdom Come: Deliverance will be bringing players a little bit of sap in the form of a love story. Introducing 'The Amorous Adventures of Bold Sir Hans Capon' as he attempts to court a beloved maiden.
Players will be playing the wingman of Capon as the love struck man attempts to sway a fair maiden named Carolina. Of course, just like every love story there is twists and turns at every corner, making it blatantly obvious that this isn't going to be easy. Players will have "three new quests, in which you will not only have to read love poems, arrange a nighttime tryst and keep an enraged butcher at bay, but also infiltrate the camp of a band of bloodthirsty brigands, enter a dice tournament, dig up a corpse, investigate a murder and...er...perhaps commit a few. All for love, of course!"
In addition to undoubtedly great love story, players will also be able to sink some hours into the free 'Tournament' update coming on the same day. Jump into the ring against some combatants and win some money or even some new armor. Before players can do that though, they will be required to complete the new quest which adds around 5 hours of gameplay. Kingdom Come: Deliverance 'The Amorous Adventures of Bold Sir Hans Capon' DLC will be released on October 16th, alongside the 'Tournaments' update. For further information regarding the title, visit the official Kingdom Come: Deliverance website here.

Red Dead Redemption 2 PS4 Trophy list leaked, 53 in total
The trophy list for the highly anticipated Rockstar title, Red Dead Redemption 2 has been leaked online, revealing the requirements for some pretty tough trophies.
The leak has been sourced from the website PSNProfiles and the user 'MyAssStretched.' The leaker has also provided the trophy list for Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 and also the Assassin's Creed Odyssey trophy list, so I'd say credibility is in check. From the Red Dead Redemption 2 trophy list we can see numerous challenges that look intriguing, such as the "Gold Rush" trophy which can only be unlocked when the player has earned 70 or more gold medals from storyline missions. This could mean that Red Dead Redemption 2 could feature a gold, silver and bronze mission rating system.
Other cool trophy requirements are the "Zoologist" trophy which can be unlocked once the player has studied every animal across each of the states. Riding off the back of the Zoologist trophy, there is the trophy "skin deep" which can be unlocked once players "skin every species of animal in Story Mode." For those that don't know, there are over 200 species of animals in Red Dead Redemption 2, so this trophy could take quite some time to complete and its only bronze. Red Dead Redemption 2 launches on October 26th for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

Analyst: COD: Black Ops 4 buzz beats Battlefield V, RDR 2
There are some absolutely gigantic games out right now, about to drop, and coming out in the next few weeks. It's one of the most exciting holiday seasons for gamers, but which one is the most buzzed of them all?
According to the latest survey from Nielsen of over 6000 people that took into consideration their awareness, purchase interest, and overall opinion of 82 of the largest games being released between September 1 and December 31. Nielsen then awarded each game with a rating, with 90-100 being "extremely high anticipation", 80-89 was "very high" and 70-79 "well-above-average interest".
Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is sitting pretty with a rating of 99, while Red Dead Redemption 2 was just behind with 97. Battlefield V is doing a lot stronger than I thought with 94, while Fallout 76 sits at 92, and Assassin's Creed Odyssey with 91. Shadow of the Tomb Raider has 71, as well as Hitman 2 with 71.

For Honor carves up a whopping 15 million total players
Prepare your bows, arrows, swords and anything else that is sharp as For Honor is about to be hit with a massive content update. Before we jump into that though, ahead of the content launch, Ubisoft is celebrating the title reaching a whopping 15 million players.
Honestly, For Honor had quite a rocky start, I remember playing the game on launch and barely being able to get into a game. Bug riddled, unstable and just a complete mess of launch, Ubisoft has really turned it around and I must say props to them for doing so. After several post launch updates, brand new gear, factions/heroes and the much needed shift to dedicated servers, For Honor has progressively grown to what is now 15 million players.
Moving onto the coming update now, if you are thinking about jumping back into For Honor or are considering purchasing the game there is no better time then now. Honing your skills on the precipice of the biggest content update for For Honor couldn't be a better time to chime back into the game. The content update titled "Marching Fire" will be bringing players "four new Wu Lin Heroes, a 4v4 Breach mode that lets player breach or defend a castle, remastered visuals, and more."

Amnesia developer wants their franchise on the Switch
Remember Amnesia? (see what I did there), puns now truly aside for the moment as Frictional Games, the developers of the survival horror game want to bring their titles to the Nintendo Switch.
Creative Director for Frictional Games, Thomas Grip has said to GameSpot that the development studio is really "hoping" to debut the series to Nintendo's hand-held console. The developers are currently "looking into it" and that Grip himself "would love to do Switch content. I grew up with Nintendo being the big platform, so it's like, 'Wow, we're actually doing video games for real now if we can get it on Nintendo!'
Grip believes that Nintendo Switch is absolutely perfect for Amnesia, "it would just be cool to get it on a handheld as well, because I think that should work for Amnesia and other games as well. We're looking into it and seeing what can be done. We're hoping--if everything goes as we hope--we hope we'll have it [on Switch]." Amnesia: The Dark Descent was first released on PC in 2010, the sequel top the title, A Machine for Pigs was later released in 2016. I will be sure to update you with any information regarding the release of Amnesia on the Nintendo Switch.

Superman star Henry Cavill confirmed for Star Citizen role
Star Citizen is still on its way and during the CitizenCon 2948 event the developer has shown off a brand new trailer for Squadron 42, which is filled with some huge acting talent from Hollywood. Check out the trailer below.
The trailer looks pretty damn incredible on its own, but 2 minutes 26 seconds into the trailer I noticed something instantly: holy sh*t that's Henry Cavill. Cavill plays Kal-El/Clark Kent/Superman in Man of Steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League. He's an avid gamer and if you didn't know, was in a World of Warcraft raid when his agent called to let him know he won leading role in Man of Steel.
Squadron 42 includes some massive actors that includes:
