The release of Avengers: Endgame marked a moment in cinematic history, 10 years of film all coming together into one highly anticipated movie. With those expectations on the line, it's not surprise that the movie was a box office smash hit.

Since fans of Avengers came in masses to the cinema, the opening weekend for the movie was incredible box office wise. The momentum even continued to the weeks after and soon enough projectionists said that Disney's creation would be in the running to take on James Cameron's Avatar, the highest box office movie ever.

While at Comic-Con, Kevin Feige, the president of Marvel Studios said "I literally just heard from our folks at Disney Distribution that Avengers: Endgame will be the biggest film of all time. You have to shout out to [Avatar director] James Cameron--if you adjust for inflation he still holds that title, but right now, thanks to you folks in Hall H, Avengers: Endgame is the biggest film of all time."

Eddie Murphy is renowned as one of the best comedians that has ever lived, and what better way to get him back into the stand-up scene than Netflix dangling $70 million in front of him.

While Murphy is currently known for his big screen appearances, the actor and comedian has previously had extreme success for his stand-up specials. Some of these specials such as Delirious and Raw are known as some of the greatest comedy specials of all time, and now the comedian might be stepping back into the stand-up field.

According to TMZ, Netflix is currently in talks with Murphy about producing an undisclosed number of comedy specials. TMZ says that Netflix has offered Murphy a staggering $70 million contract, now that's a laughable amount of money.

At this years Comic-Con we were introduced to the teaser trailer for Netflix's highly anticipated Witcher TV show. After the trailer was revealed, showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich talked about what to expect in the series' first season.

According to Hissrich, the first season will be based on 'The Last Wish' which is a collection of short stories that is considered to be the first book in the international best-selling book series by Andrzej Sapkowski.

"The Last Wish was the first book I read, so--you know how, with anything, the first time you experience a world, you fall in love with it in a totally different way. I love all of the books, but that was really my entrance into the world. So yeah, I drew a lot from it" said Hissrich.

We are now in full Witcher hype mode as Netflix has released their official teaser trailer for their highly anticipated Witcher TV show.

The above video has been released onto the official Netflix YouTube Channel and introduces us to a world where the worst monsters are the ones we create. We can see characters such as Geralt of Rivia played by Superman actor, Henry Cavil. Yennefer, who is played by Anya Cholatra and Ciri who is played by Freya Allan.

From the trailer we can also see that Geralt is MASSIVE. Henry Cavill really did hit the gym for this role and it definitely shows. We also get some quick glimpses of some action and also a tease at an unknown monster. The show is based on the international best-selling book series and not on the CD Projekt RED masterpiece game franchise. If you are after some official screenshots, check out this link here. So... Hollywood did a thing. The Broadway musical is now a new CGI-heavy movie with the first trailer to Cats released wiht some top-shelf names in the mix including Taylor Swift, James Corden, Ian McKellen, and Judi Dench. Just... check out the trailer:

It looks so beyond horrible it's not funny, mainly from the "cats" looking like weird cat-like humans because it is not fur, the actors aren't wearing suits. The eats, whiskers, fur, and tail are all added digitally. The cats are not proportioned to real cats or small humans, where in some scenes of the trailer the cat is unnaturally small on the bed, and even more so on a plate.

The CGI looks horrendous and makes the botch job the VFX team did on Superman's lip in Justice League look amazing, and that's saying something. Hell, it makes the movie version of Sonic the Hedgehog look incredible, something the team quickly understood from the reaction of the internet, and are now fixing.

Mortal Kombat fans will be able to rejoice at the most recent news regarding the upcoming Mortal Kombat Movie that is soon to be released.

If you didn't know, Adelaide will soon be home to its biggest movie production ever, the upcoming Mortal Kombat live-action movie. The movie is being directed by Simon McQuid and it will be bringing a fresh new take to Mortal Kombat. Recent news has now surfarced regarding the movies rating and according to Greg Russo, a screenwriter for the movie, the Mortal Kombat Movie will be R-rated and will feature the games' iconic fatalities.

Russo said on Twitter in the above comment, "Since it's already been stated by other members of the team, I'm gonna put this one to bed. MK WILL be R-Rated and for the first time EVER, FATALITIES will FINALLY be on the big screen (and no I'm not gonna say which ones) You'll just have to wait for the movie & see!!! ;)" The last news we heard about the Mortal Kombat Movie is that Fast & Furious 6's Joe Taslim has been selected to play Sub-Zero. We are now waiting on who will play Sub-Zero's counterpart, Scorpion. The Mortal Kombat Movie is expected to launch in theaters on March 5th, 2021.

Netflix has decided to take a step into the suicide prevention area by removing one of suicide scenes from one of this most popular TV shows.

Netflix has taken to their official Twitter page to announce an update for 13 Reasons Why. According to the post, Netflix has "heard from many young people that 13 Reasons Why encouraged them to start conversations about difficult issues like depression and suicide and get help - often for the first time. As we prepare to launch Season 3 later this summer, we've been mindful about the ongoing debate around the show."

"So on the advice of medical experts, including Dr. Christine Moutier, Chief Medical Officer at the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, we've decided with creator Brian Yorkey and the producers of 13 Reasons Why to edit the scene in which Hannah takes her own life from Season 1."

Remembering back to May, we learned that the design of Sonic in the upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog movie was not good enough for fans. In response to Sonic's design, the movies director understood that a design change had to happen, and now we are hearing about what they have in-store.

The first trailer for the Sonic the Hedgehog movie was released back in May and was met with heavy criticism by fans as Sonic's design was somewhat unsettling. Paramount and director Jeff Fowler took the criticism on-board and delayed the movie by about three months with a goal of changing Sonic's design to better accommodate fans desires. According to Tim Miller talking to Variety, a producer of the movie, "I think fans will be pleased" with Sonic's re-design.

Miller also touched on how everyone responded to fans criticism, saying "Look, I was with fans and so was Jeff. When the s**t hit the fan, I went over there and said, 'The most important thing to do, man, is say, 'I f**ked up. He'd already sent a tweet out an hour before I got there. He's a good man. It was exactly the right way to handle that. The fans have a voice in this too. There's a right way to listen." Many fans, including myself were extremely happy to hear that the decision was to postpone the movie so the studio had time to rework Sonic.

If you have been out of the loop Netflix has released the third season for Stranger Things, it's now currently available to stream and boy has it been popular.

Stranger Things Season 3 released back on the 4th of July, and since the release the new season has truly taken off. According to Netflix's official Twitter account, the new season has been viewed by 40.7 million Netflix accounts in just the first four days since its release.

This is a staggering amount of viewers and Netflix has even come out and said that it has broken the record for "more than any other film or series in its first four days". A recent interview with Game of Thrones writer George R.R Martin has revealed some details about the coming Game of Thrones prequel TV show that is currently in the works.

According to the interview with Martin which was conducted by Entertainment Weekly, the prequel TV show will be shining a light on the land of Westeros before the seven kingdoms were formed. Martin touches on the subject, saying "But if you go back further then there are nine kingdoms, and 12 kingdoms, and eventually you get back to where there are a hundred kingdoms--petty kingdoms--and that's the era we're talking about here."

As the prequel show predates the events that we saw in the Game of Thrones by thousands of years, this means that the Lannisters and Targaryens houses haven't even been formed yet. As well as dragons haven't come into existence, which raises the question 'what will we see?'. Martin says that "Obviously the White Walkers are here--or as they're called in my books, The Others--and that will be an aspect of it. There are things like direwolves and mammoths."

Back in early May we started to hear rumblings of a new Mortal Kombat movie beginning preparation for filming, now recent news has surfaced regarding who is to play as Sub-Zero.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, actor Joe Taslim who is known for his roles in The Raid and Fast & Furious 6, has now been selected to play as Mortal Kombat's Sub-Zero. Since we first started hearing about the new Mortal Kombat movie, this is the first actor who has been officially casted. Now one of the burning questions that remain is who is going to be 'getting over' to the set to play Sub-Zero's counterpart, Scorpion.

If you were wondering if this Mortal Kombat movie would be a continuation of the last one that was released (Mortal Kombat Annihilation released in 1997) then I can tell you that its not. This new Mortal Kombat movie will bring a fresh new take to the franchise, essentially being a reboot of what we already know. The specifics for the films direction have not be released, and there isn't that much information available as of yet.

The upcoming new Joker movie is aimed at creating a fresh take on the character as recent reports have claimed its not based on the comic books at all.

According to report out of Empire, the movies director, Todd Phillips, has said that the Joker Movie won't be using anything from the comic books but instead the movie will tell the story of how a man would become the Joker. Here is the official quote: "We didn't follow anything from the comic books, which people are gonna be mad about."

Phillips continued and says: "We just wrote our own version of where a guy like Joker might come from. That's what was interesting to me. We're not even doing Joker, but the story of becoming Joker. It's about this man." Its very interesting to see the director choose to not use the comic books as a reference, and its even more interesting to see him recognize that this will cause potential blow back from fans.

Entertainment Weekly has released the opening weekend numbers for the recently released Spider-Man: Far From Home.

The most recent release in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is Spider-Man: Far From Home and as expected the movies box office earnings are exceptional. According to Entertainment Weekly, Far From Home managed to pull in $93.6 million from the US and Canada over the weekend, from July 5th to the 7th.

Since Far From Home was released on a Tuesday instead of the typical Friday, Far From Home managed to break the record for the biggest domestic Tuesday release ever with $39.3 million. When looking at the 6-day box office spread, Spider-Man: Far From Home managed to pull in a total of $185 million from both the US and Canada. When looking world-wide, Far From Home has already manged to rake in $580 million in less than a week.

Amazon is in full swing for their upcoming Lord of the Rings TV show, with a new announcement surfacing that has revealed that the studio has found its first director.

While we know that the show is going to focus on the events before Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings trilogy, the main question is who will be behind the camera aiming the shows direction. According to Amazon, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom's JA Bayona will taking the role of director for the shows first two episodes in season one.

Bayona has commented on the announcement, saying "J.R.R. Tolkien created one of the most extraordinary and inspiring stories of all time, and as a lifelong fan it is an honor and a joy to join this amazing team. I can't wait to take audiences around the world back to Middle-earth and have them discover the wonders of the Second Age, with a never-before-seen story."

Netflix has released a bunch of screenshots for their new upcoming series titled 'The Witcher', starring Superman actor Henry Cavill.

The screenshots have been released onto the official WitcherNetflix Instagram page and showcase Geralt of Rivia, Yennefer (Anya Cholatra) and Ciri (Freya Allan). Each of the images come with a caption, Geralts reads as follows: "I'm not a good man. I'm a Witcher." That is a beautiful way to simply sum up Geralts neutralness of being neither good nor bad.

The second image of Geralt says "I forge my own path. Bleed from my own mistakes. Destiny plays no part." This is a reflection on how Geralt feels in the books towards destiny playing no part in his story. Yennefers captions seems somewhat generic, and don't really reflect to much of her character in my own opinion. "My world is cruel and predictable. You enter, you survive, you die" and "Death comes for all of us, eventually. The only way to cheat it is to have a legacy."

A recent report has come out of the New Zealand Herald, detailing that Auckland has secured a large part of Amazon's upcoming Lord of the Rings filming.

The New Zealand Herald has said that Auckland has secured what has been described as a "huge" part of the filming for Amazon's upcoming Lord of the Rings TV show. To back up that claim, an Auckland films industry senior has said that at least two different New Zealand film production studios (Kumeu Film Studios and Auckland Film Studios) have already begun work on the series' filming locations.

This is the first we are hearing of the filming locations since it was rumored that Amazon would be using Scotland as a location. Since The New Zealand Herald says that Auckland has secured a "huge" part of the filming locations we can assume that not ALL filming will be done there and that some of the scenes will be shot elsewhere. In May, Pokemon Detective Pikachu starring Ryan Reynolds hit cinema's. The movie was met with large amounts of fan support and now those fans will soon be able to own their very own copy of the film.

The above Twitter post has been found on the official Pokemon Detective Pikachu Twitter page and has revealed that on the 23rd of July, Pokemon Detective Pikachu will be available to digitally download.

Rick and Morty season 4 is being craved by fans, and the release of the fourth season is not even that far away for the mainstream. But for attendee's of the Adult Swim Festival, they will get a special early sneak peak.

According to an announcement from Deadline, the long-awaited fourth season of the hit TV show Rick and Morty will have a special showing at the Adult Swim Festival in Los Angeles. The Adult Swim Festival will be held across two days and run from Friday, Nov. 15 (Saturday) to Nov. 16. Deadline says that there will be a "never-before-seen screening" on the second day of the festival.

While Deadline doesn't mention whether or not this will be an early screening of the first episode of season 4, I have a sneaky suspicion this might be an early screening. Adult Swim has described this years festival event attractions as a "one-of-a-kind 360 degrees fan experience". Rick and Morty season 4 will debut sometime in November.

The release of Dragon Ball Super: Broly was welcomed by Dragon Ball fans across the globe, and we can see the support for the film was in strong form as it amassed 124.5 million in gross earnings. So how about a sequel?

In a recent interview with Akiyo Iyoku, the head of Shueisha's Dragon Ball Room, a sequel for Broly was brough up and Iyoku says the team is "steadily making preparations for the next Dragon Ball movie." While Iyoku doesn't reveal any specific details for the follow-up film, he does say that "things will probably head in a completely different direction next time around."

At the moment there has been no solidified release date for the next movie, but Iyoku does say that he is very excited for fans of the series/films to see "what's coming up next" as he believes "whatever comes next will be even more incredible".

Now that Toy Story 4 is hitting cinemas we are finding out that the latest movie in the franchise has become the most successful in its opening weekend across the entire Toy Story franchise.

Entertainment Weekly is reporting that the projections for Toy Story 4's opening weekend were much higher at $165 million, much less than the $118 million that it did in its opening weekend. If we compare this to Toy Story 3 from 2010 opening with $110.3 million, Toy Story 4 is performing quite well and is yet another win for both Pixar and Disney.

Pixar is no stranger to flying way above inifinty, and beyond with The Incredibles 2 pulling a huge $182.7 million in its opening weekend, Finding Dory with $135.1 million and is just behind Shrek the Third and its $121.6 million -- Toy Story 4 comes in just behind with $118 million. Toy Story 4 is also the third movie to open at over $100 million in 2019, behind Avengers: Endgame and Captain Marvel -- both Disney owned movies.
