As we entered the room for the ASUS portion of CES 2024, we were greeted with an assortment of laptops, monitors, and GPUs, which Ryan will be covering soon, but just beyond that was a huge wall of RGB illumination with the ROG logo and REPUBLIC OF GAMERS spelled out for all of us to enjoy.

Around the corner, we ran into this ROG STRIX LC III 360 ARGB CPU cooler that sports a new block design with a 360° rotatable logo and over ten custom Aura lighting effects on this 7th gen V2 Astetek model. It also sports premium ROG ARGB fans with high airflow, optimized acoustics, and a silent mode.

On this ROG STRIX Z790-A Gaming Wi-Fi II motherboard, we also found the ROG STRIX LC III 360 ARGB LCD White Edition AIO. This one has a 2.1" IPS LCD that is also 360° rotatable, so one can display system stats, custom art, time of day, system monitoring, or personalized images. This is also a 7th gen V2 design with premium ROG ARGB fans.

Intel has pushed out a new Wi-Fi and Bluetooth driver for Windows 11 (and 10) that fixes some nasty wireless-related issues.

The Intel PROSet Wi-Fi Software release version 23.20.0 (spotted by Neowin) fixes a particularly irritating bug which triggers a BSOD crash when heavy traffic is present on the network.

That gremlin is present in Windows 11 only, but the other bugs affect not just Microsoft's latest operating system, but Windows 10 as well.

When Apple announced its Vision Pro headset, the company said that it would come with an Apple-designed M2 chip inside just like some of the company's most popular Macs of the time. Information beyond that was hard to come by, and Apple kept its cards close to its chest as the weeks and months went by following that June 5, 2023 unveiling. But as we get closer to the headset going on sale on February 2, we're starting to learn more.

One of the tidbits that we've learned of late is that the Vision Pro will ship with 16GB of RAM. That's according to a MacRumors report based on files found in Xcode 15.2 which can be downloaded today. This also happens to back up a previous report by Bloomberg's Mark Gurman that had also pointed to 16GB of RAM being paired with that M2 chip.

While 16GB is of course more than the 8GB that some of Apple's Macs ship with as standard, it's difficult to know how well the Vision Pro will perform. It's the first of its kind which makes benchmarking its specs hard, so we might have to wait for the headset to begin arriving in the hands of paying customers before we can be truly sure what's going on in terms of capabilities and performance.

The Apple Watch Ultra and Apple Watch Ultra 2 look almost identical and are both made from titanium, Apple's latest material of choice. But where the iPhone 15 Pro comes in multiple colors, the Apple Watch Ultra 2 is only available in the same natural color that the previous model shipped in. There were rumors that might not have been the case, but ultimately the natural color was all that we got.

However, the story has been given additional credence today following the leak of an Apple Watch Ultra band that appears to have black hardware, the kind that would be used on an Apple Watch band that was going to be fitted against a black titanium Apple Watch Ultra. The band itself looks to be genuine and matches other Apple Watch Ultra bands, with the only difference being that black hardware.

The source of the leak was X user DongleBookPro and as ever, it's important that we take these kinds of leaks with a pinch of salt. But the band does appear to be what the leaker says that it is.

Forza Motorsport players have some bones to pick with the developer in terms of complaints with the game, but Turn 10 Studios is listening - and acting on this feedback.

Indeed, Turn 10 says it's committed to publishing quarterly updates on feedback and prominent issues with the game - which came out in October 2023 - starting from right now.

In a blog post, the developer touches on three major issues and how they are currently being addressed.

Starting things off with an ultrawide, the PG034QRS2A, is a 34 inch OLED gaming monitor running at 3440 x 1440 at an impressive 240Hz. Having a curvature of 1800R means the curve is subtle but still will provide a level of immersion. An HDR 400 certification with 300 nits of brightness will be good for HDR content, however the 34 inch monitor does have a DCI-P3 color space of 99%. Availability and pricing is unknown at this time.

Next up is the PG027QFW2A, a 27 inch flat OLED display running at an eye blistering 360Hz while running at 2560 x 1440. Response time is at 0.03ms GTG and is rated at HDR400 with 250 nits of brightness. Availability and pricing is unknown at this time.

The PG32QRT2A is a VA 1000R curved gaming monitor with a 180Hz refresh rate while running HDR 400 with 400 nits of brightness running at QHD resolution. The color space is limited to 72% NTSC, so color accuracy is not as good as the others. Availability and pricing is unknown at this time.

AsRock, who is no stranger to good valued motherboards, especially to the mainstream consumer gamer market, wanted to show us a few motherboards they have been cooking up for CES 2024 in Las Vegas.

First in line is the B650 Steel Legend, supporting AMD's new 8000 and 7000 AM5 CPUs. The Steel Legend series of motherboards has a white/silver PCB with hints of silver/grey throughout the design. Value wise, the Steel Legend series of motherboards are hard to beat for the money! Available now for under $300..

Next up is the Z790 Phantom Gaming Nova, which supports 12th through 14th gen Intel Core CPUs running on the Z790 platform. What is so special about the Z790 Phantom Gaming Nova? This motherboard has high-end features that normally would be found on motherboards costing twice it's cost. Available now for under $330.

Windows 11's Notepad, the venerable default app, is set to be infused with the power of AI in the near future.

Windows Central's Zac Bowden spotted that leaker PhantomOfEarth on X (formerly Twitter) did some digging and discovered that there are references to a 'Cowriter' feature for Notepad in Windows 11.

That includes files such as 'CoWriterCreditLimitDialog' along with 'CoWriterDropDownButton' and 'CoWriterInfoButton' plus more besides.

A new range of OLED gaming monitors was unveiled by GIGABYTE at CES 2024, and one, in particular, is a world first, according to the company.

GIGABYTE is expanding its gaming monitor offerings with a new line of OLED displays that range from 27 inches to 34 inches. The world's first display is the 32-inch AORUS FO32U2P, the first DP 2.1 UHBR20 tactical gaming monitor, pushing an impressive 80 Gbps bandwidth without Display Stream Compression. GIGABYTE states in its press release that this bandwidth is 2.5 times more than the previous generation DP 1.4 HBR3.

Additionally, the FO32U2P is a QD-OLED panel that features a 1,500,000:1 contrast ratio, VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400, and a color gamut of 99% DCI-P3. Furthermore, GIGABYTE's world's first display features a 0.03ms GtG response time, a 240Hz refresh rate, and GIGABYTE's proprietary AI-driven OLED Care technology that automatically conducts routine OLED maintenance, reducing burn-in.

GIGABYTE has showcased its newest addition to its line-up of gaming monitors at CES 2024 - introducing the CO49DQ.

CES 2024 was littered with super ultrawide announcements from many well-known gaming monitor brands such as Samsung, Acer, and LG. GIGABYTE has thrown its own hat in the ring with the announcement for CO49DQ, a 49-inch OLED gaming monitor that features a double quad HD display (DQHD), or a resolution of 5120 x 1440, which is the same as two 2560 x 1440p displays next to each other.

The CO49DQ has a 144Hz refresh rate, a 0.03ms response time, 10-bit color, and a 99% DCI-P3 color gamut. The CO49DQ weighs 24.9 pounds, and according to reports, when GIGABYTE releases the new gaming monitor, it will come with a price tag of $1,299. However, PC World notes that there is a chance that it will launch at a much lower price tag. As for other specifications, the CO49DQ uses an AI algorithm to minimize the risk of burn-in issues.

Whacky pet tech is becoming a staple of CES, and this year is no different with the introduction of an AI-powered cat door capable of stopping your furry friends from bringing in unwanted gifts and keeping out other unwanted guests.

Swiss start-up company Flappie Technologies came to CES this year to show off their new AI-powered cat door that will automatically lock your favorite felines outside if they try to bring in any prey they might have caught while outside. The fancy pet flap includes motion sensors on the side of the door facing outside, as well as a night-vision camera.

Flappie claims it has gathered "unique and proprietary" datasets over the years and has a focus on diversity. This means the start-up filmed many different types of cats and prey in a variety of different lighting conditions to create their AI-powered detection system that now locks the cat flap if any prey is detected. Flappie says the detection system is accurate more than 90 percent of the time, meaning there is a chance a smart cat may be able to beat the system, though this will happen far less often.

It's always great to see diversity in the look, feel, and overall cooling design in a GPU line-up - and with NVIDIA's new GeForce RTX 40 SUPER Series making its debut at CES 2024, COLORFUL's line-up is impressive.

Here's what you need to know about the new SUPER GPUs for a quick refresher-improved performance and capabilities without increasing prices. Or substantially dropping the price in the case of the GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER. The GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER offers 20% more CUDA Cores for faster-than-RTX 3090 performance levels. The GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER increases the VRAM capacity to 16GB while also upping the Core count.

Hidden and parked outside, this year's CES event was one of the wildest cars you'll ever see. Razer and Lexus have teamed up to create an RGB decked-out gaming car full of gaming goodies, but is a car like this even street-legal? Possibly not.

The car is a 2024 Lexus TX that has had a massive Razer makeover tricked out in the latest Razer gear, and according to a press release from December, the added gaming features may void the warranty, negatively impact safety, and not be street legal but does that matter when it looks as cool as it does?!

The car on display was a black Lexus TX with default green Razer lighting on the exterior, maintaining a sleek appearance while also catching attention. The Razer Lexus TX includes three rows of seating, and this version of the vehicle shown has replaced the seats in the back two rows with Razer's very own gaming chairs. Each seat also includes a widescreen gaming monitor, and one of the seats even includes a desk and keyboard for PC gaming.

The Consumer Electronics Show (CES) is always full of surprises, and this year, ASUS had one of them with the unveiling of the AirVision M1, a wearable device that gives users the ability to generate multiple virtual displays.

ASUS has announced the AirVision M1, a wearable display that packs a multi-monitor experience all within a pair of glasses. The company explains that this wearable features a 1920 x 1080 Micro OLED display that is capable of 1100 nits and a 95% DCI-P3 color gamut for those juicy visuals. According to ASUS's press release, users are able to drag and drop virtual screens to specific locations in their preferred aspect ratio: 16:9, 21:9, 32:9, and more.

Users interact with the glasses via a touchpad located on the left temple. This touchpad allows for customization for brightness, 3D mode activation, and screen pinning. Furthermore, the AirVision M1 is equipped with a USB-C port for charging, features DisplayPort Alt Mode for widespread compatibility, TUV-certified low blue-light and flicker reduction, noise-canceling microphones, and speakers.

CES 2024 is well underway, and just like every year we get a taste of some of the strangest and innovative technology being worked on all around the world.

One such company, VTouch, a South Korean software company, has fallen on the latter with a new innovative device WSHP Ring. The idea behind the ring is to solve one of the biggest problems with verbally communicating to any computational device, which is typically a personal assistant such as Siri, Google Assistant, or Alexa - you can't really do it quietly.

While virtual assistants are impressive and certainly useful they still are at the stage where it feels like you have to make sure you pronunciation every word in your sentence loud and clear. VTouch aims to solve that problem with the WSHP Ring, a small device that features a proximinity sensor and a microphone that activates when the user raises their hand to their mouth to speak. WSHP Ring allows for extremely quite communication to a virtual assistant as a user can raise the ring to their mouth and quietly mumble their query.

Lenovo has just unveiled their new custom GeForce RTX 40 SUPER series graphics cards as new members of their growing Legion family of graphics cards... as well as a new GeForce RTX 4090 D Legion graphics card that should be headed to China.

NVIDIA recently announced its new GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER, GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER, and GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER graphics cards during its Special Address event at CES 2024, with AIB partners going nuts announcing new custom RTX 40 SUPER graphics card designs. Lenovo isn't far behind, with its own take on the new RTX 40 SUPER Legion graphics cards.

The new GeForce RTX 4080 SUPER and GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER graphics cards will be options for Lenovo's flagship Legion 9000K gaming PC. Meanwhile, the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER and GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER graphics cards will be available inside the Legion 7000K gaming PC. If you want to make sure you're getting the latest model, gamers will want to spot the "2024" in the product name to make sure you're getting the very latest from Lenovo.

XMG has unveiled its new NEO 17 gaming laptop with some new and improved features that are found on the inside, while the old chassis is used. Check it out:

Inside, XMG is using Intel's new Core i9-14900HX processor with 24 cores and 32 threads, with the new XMG NEO 17 gaming laptop the first in the NEO series to feature USB-C Power Delivery with up to 100W of power on the ready. There's an integrated GPU on the 14900K, with a fully-supported, hardware-based "iGPU only" mode that guarantees the dGPU can't be accidentally woken up while you're on the go.

NVIDIA's high-end GeForce RTX 4080 and GeForce RTX 4090 graphics are inside, with liquid cooling water pipes extended to cover the CPU directly, too.

HYTE makes some pretty funk PC cases and components, and with CES 2024 underway, it's releasing two new firsts - a keyboard and an AIO liquid cooler. Now, you might think that you've seen it all when it comes to mechanical keyboards and coolers, especially when it comes to RGB lighting, but HYTE is here to prove you wrong.

The HYTE Keeb TKL is the company's first mechanical keyboard, and if you think per-key lighting is impressive, the entire Keeb TKL lights up. With double-shot PBT keycaps, gasket-mounted hardware, and an aluminum plate on the bottom, the polycarbonate case is a full RGB array.

It even sports modern features like hot-swappable switches, with the Keeb TKL packed with HYTE's in-house pre-lubed Fluffy Lavender switches designed for fast linear performance. Sporting an actuation distance of 1.5mm and force of 40 grams, they sound tailor-made for PC gaming.

There was a time when 3D displays were considered the next big thing; you put on a pair of glasses and bask in the magic of blue aliens fighting humans on a lush jungle planet from the comfort of your chair or couch. 3D-capable displays are far and few between, but at CES 2024, Samsung is showcasing a concept for a glasses-free 3D monitor with eye and head tracking.

Still in the concept stage of development, it's called the 'Samsung 2D/3D monitor' (definitely a placeholder) - it can take any 2D image and transform it into a full-3D presentation that leaps out of the display. It's designed primarily for PC gaming, and at CES 2024, Samsung is presenting its 2D to 3D monitor with the popular action RPG Lies of P, released in 2023.

It's also compatible with SteamVR and VR games, and it can play VR games without a headset.

ASUS Republic of Gamers, better known as ROG, is the company's premium gaming brand. At CES 2024, ASUS announced a new range of ROG gaming peripherals covering keyboards, mice, wireless earbuds, a professional-grade USB microphone, and a mobile controller.

Plus, the ROG Archer ErgoAir Gaming Backpack which includes an "innovative airflow tunnel back-rest design." It's a cool-looking laptop bag and backpack, but what immediately grabbed my attention was the new ROG Falchion RX Low Profile keyboard. A compact 65% keyboard that features all-new pre-lubed ROG RX Low-Profile optical switches that the company claims offer near-zero debounce delay and less wobble than any other low-profile switch on the market.

It looks awesome, too, with a minimal, futuristic design. The new ROG Keris II Ace ultralight gaming mouse sits next to the keyboard, with wired and wireless support and an overall weight of just 54 grams.
