Toshiba looking at $60m accounting scandal fine
Due to an accounting violation, the Japanese securities watchdog has requested that Toshiba be sent a massive $60 million (7.37 billion yen) fine, being described by iTnews as; in a bid "to rebuild a corporate image shattered by a series of high-profile wrongdoing".
Surrounding this news, 50 shareholders have also taken pitchforks to this giant company, requesting around $2.4 million in damages due to stock losses. With Toshiba's stock falling approximately 40 percent since the breaking announcement of this saga in April 2015, this accounting shambles is sending the company towards ruin in its current state.
The watchdog seems to be setting out to show Toshiba as an example towards other companies, strengthening its investigations due to Toshiba being such a large Japanese brand name and global company, aiming to make an example out of these illegal blunders.

Bitcoin inventor is an Australian man, sources claim
Bitcoin is an online currency that saw an enormous rise in recent times, with the growth of this currency seeing some people buy houses for previous investments of $25 and the invention of 'Dogecoin' alongside it. While no one is sure exactly where the 'inventor' of this currency is from, Wired believes that an Australian was at the heart of this online phenomena.
Stated to be a 44-year old Aussie by the name of Craig Steven Wright, this man is said to go by the online alias of Satoshi Nakamoto. Not only is Wright theorized to be the creator of this crypto-currency, but he also owned 1.1 million bitcoin which is worth just over $396 million today.
In the referenced article, our news source stated; "In the last weeks, WIRED has obtained the strongest evidence yet of Satoshi Nakamoto's true identity. The signs point to Craig Steven Wright, a man who never even made it onto any Nakamoto hunters' public list of candidates, yet fits the cryptocurrency creator's profile in nearly every detail. And despite a massive trove of evidence, we still can't say with absolute certainty that the mystery is solved. But two possibilities outweigh all others: Either Wright invented bitcoin, or he's a brilliant hoaxer who very badly wants us to believe he did."

Half-Life 3 teased, turns up in Steam database, breaking our hearts
The entire PC gaming community is waiting for Half-Life 3, and without any news from Valve, we live on every rumor and drop of information. The latest on Half-Life 3 is that it has popped up on the Steam Database.
Valve has created a Half-Life 3 page that includes sections for developers, beta testers and of course, the game itself. Steam Database has pushed out an update about the leaks, saying: "While this information comes straight from Valve and many of these kinds of leaks turned out to be real in the past, it is important to note that third-party Steam developers can create and name their own apps/packages, a noteworthy mention of developers doing this are these packages, in which they are trying to XSS Steam".
They added: "Many things could also be old entries and as such no longer be in development/coming to Steam. An example of a previous leak that ended up being nothing (yet) is Halo 3. TLDR: Half-Life 3 still not confirmed".

Google's Pixel C tablet on sale, features DX12-capable NVIDIA Tegra X1
Google has just pushed out more details on its Pixel C tablet, which will launch with a base price of $499 and 32GB of internal storage. The only other model Google will be making will be a 64GB model, priced at $100 more for $599 total.
Pixel C features NVIDIA's more-than-capable Tegra X1 processor, which rocks 256 GPU cores and is DX12 capable. On the CPU side of the Tegra X1 processor, we have an 8-core CPU that sees two quad-core processors combined on a 20nm process. Google's new Pixel C tablet features a 10.2-inch 2560x1800 display, with Google opting for an LTPS LCD, which is the same type of panel found in the OnePlus One smartphone.
We also have 3GB of LPDDR4, and instead of a microUSB 3.0 port, Google has planted a USB Type-C port - the same port found on their new Nexus smartphones. This provides the Pixel C tablet with a huge transfer rate of 10Gbps, which you won't hit on this device - but it's nice to see Google thinking of the future. Rounding out the specs, we have the aforementioned 32/64GB offerings, Bluetooth 4.1, 802.11ac Wi-Fi, an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera, and a 2-megapixel one for selfies and video calls.

World's smallest temperature chip draws power from radio waves
An impressive new temperature sensor chip has been unveiled by researchers at the Eindhoven University of Technology in Eindhoven, Netherlands. They have created the world's smallest temperature sensor chip, which has a damn impressive trick up its incredibly small sleeve.
The new temperature sensor chip draws its power from radio waves being broadcasted by the same Wi-Fi network it is communicating with, which means the chip won't require a battery, nor will it ever have to be charged. For the Internet of Things (IoT) market, and electronics in general, this is going to be quite the breakthrough.
Project PREMISS is the current name of it, with research Dr. Hao Gao leading the project. Project PREMISS is a new type of sensor that is as light as a grain of sand and is only 2mm square, which makes it the world's smallest temperature sensor. The chip draws the required power from radio waves, but it also communicates data over the same waves, so it doesn't need a physical connection to send temperature data to another device.

Ubisoft's first VR game 'Eagle Flight' for Oculus Rift and HTC Vive
Now that we know that the HTC Vive is dropping in April 2016, we have news of Ubisoft's first VR game 'Eagle Flight'. The name spoils what you'll be doing in the game, where you'll be an eagle flying over Paris, 50 years after humans have left the iconic city.
Ubisoft explains: "Nature and wildlife has taken back the city, creating a rich playground and offering an incredible experience of free flight and adventure". Ubisoft Montreal's Game Director, Olivier Palmieri said: "We're excited to make the dream of flying come true with Eagle Flight. Virtual reality has created new and amazing opportunities for game developers and we wanted to offer a full VR game that took full advantage of the technological advances. With the breakthrough we've been working on, we're confident Ubisoft's first game developed solely for VR will be a truly enjoyable experience for everyone who plays it".
Eagle Flight has been created specifically with VR in mind, so the developer has concentrated on accessibility and comfort. Ubisoft has developed its own VR control technology, a breakthrough that will reportedly allow players to enjoy Eagle Flight with intuitive and precise controls. Ubisoft's new VR control technology also reduces the chances of motion sickness but allows players to quickly hone their Eagle Flight controls to perform crazy stunts and experience the closest experience to true flight.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance video shows off medieval world, CryEngine
A new video for upcoming medieval RPG Kingdom Come: Deliverance does a fine job of showing off the revered CryEngine and what it can do in the context of such a rare type of game.
While there are a lot of similarities to the excellent Mount and Blade series, the visuals are miles better and the combat appears more intricate, to a very impressive degree.
"We chose Cryengine mostly because of its capabilities for creating large, open worlds and great tools to do it," says Daniel Vávra of developer Warhorse Studios. "We could have dynamic lighting in a large, open world which was quite unique at the time. And now there's global illumination that looks awesome, and seems it could work in our game without large impact on the framerate, which is great."

George Lucas weighs in on 'Force Awakens' screening
After selling the Lucasfilm empire to Disney in a deal worth $4 billion in 2012, and their desire to continue making 'Star Wars' films, creator George Lucas has for the first time had no say in the new chapter of the franchise. Even his original ideas for the sequel trilogy were rejected. But now Lucas has seen 'The Force Awakens' final cut - so what did he think?
Speaking to Vulture but careful not to heaps too much praise, Lucas revealed "I think the fans are going to love it". Pressed further he confirms that "it's very much the kind of movie they've been looking for", which is perhaps code for "they weren't looking for the prequels".
'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' begins opening worldwide in 2D, 3D and IMAX screens from next Wednesday.

30% of all notebooks to contain SSDs in 2016, reports hint
There's nothing worse than your small, light and portable laptop taking forever to boot up or complete simple tasks - I mean, that's why tablets were invented, or so some people say.
In comes the magical invention of the solid state drive, helping ancient PCs and blisteringly fast gaming machines boot up quickly much faster than a hard disk drive could ever manage. In a report seen on Storage Newsletter, some claim that 30% of all laptops in 2016 could come packed with an SSD within.
With the number being more exact at 25-28% overall, reports claim that this increase is partly due to the 10% price drop in SSDs, while common sense also says that it is partly to do with consumer demand. With this in mind, Storage Newsletter also said that "Branded PC vendors and channel distributors are holding back on their SSD purchases due to lower-than-expected notebook sales," which could signify a rise in SSDs during 2016 or not, depending on how you understand the wording.

ASUS ranks number one for reliability in independent French findings
A recent press release issued by ASUS outlined some research conducted by Hardware.fr, explaining that this co-company of LDLC is the biggest component seller in France and draws up RMA statistics every six months. With a minimum simple size of 500 devices, ASUS took the top spot for minimal RMAs between October 1 2014 - April 1 2015.
Joe Hsieh, the ASUS Corporate Vice President and General Manager, Motherboard and Desktop System Business Unit, says that this win is due to "our dedication to perfection and tireless efforts, leading to the development of advanced such as 5X Protection II," beating down other large players like ASRock, GIGABYTE and MSI this time around.
ASUS also attributes its win to reliability and safety testing, claiming complete a marathon "total validation time amounting to over 7000 hours," resulting in a total 1.89% failure rate across the board.

EA says Star Wars Battlefront 'may not have the depth' gamers wanted
With the mixed reception surrounding Star Wars Battlefront, so much so that the player base for Fallout 4 eclipses it, EA has come out talking about the game not being deep enough for some hardcore gamers.
During the European NASDAQ Investor Conference, EA's Chief Financial Officer Blake Jorgensen said that EA designed Battlefront to be a "much more accessible product to a wide age group". He added: "Star Wars Battlefront is a first-person shooter, but it is one of the only teen-rated first-person shooters. So, an 8-year-old could play with his father on the couch, as well as a teenager or 20-year-old could play the game and enjoy it. It is more accessible".
But it's the hardcore gamers who miss out, with Jorgensen saying: "And for the hardcore, it may not have the depth that they wanted in the game". EA COO Peter Moore, said during EA's recent earnings call, that the trailers for the game featured around Star Wars: The Force Awakens allowed EA "to be able to generate even more publicity for the game, as people start to anticipate the movie in mid-Dec".

Ubisoft delays The Division beta to early 2016, surprises no one
Ubisoft has announced that it has delayed The Division beta, something that was planned for this month, and has now been delayed until "early 2016".
The developer added that there will be an exclusive closed Xbox One alpha testing phase that will take place between December 9-12, and for those on the waiting list for the Xbox One alpha of The Division, you'll be "granted access on an as needed basis". Ubisoft added: "In addition, players who pre-ordered the Xbox One, PS4, or PC version of The Division will have access to a closed beta on their respective platforms in early 2016".
For the exclusive Xbox One alpha testing phase, Ubisoft says this is "the first time the public gets to play a version of The Division that includes more than the Dark Zone PvP enabled areas. This means the moment you and other players sign into the game, you'll be giving us valuable insight into how our infrastructure performs under pressure that we can't replicate internally or at a tradeshow. This process allows us to monitor and gather additional feedback on other aspects of The Division, as well. However, due to the early stage of this alpha, we ask that all participants do not share images, video, or descriptions of the game's content outside of the official Division alpha forum. Players will be prompted to accept a non-disclosure agreement before playing the alpha".

Panorics' 360-degree video system, PTRig, shoots 5700x2850 video
360-degree video continues to grow, with Panorics announcing that it has launched its fully immersive 360-degree video camera system, PTRig. PTRig houses three GoPro cameras, shooting insane 5700x2850 videos in 360x180 degrees.

Some of the first PTRig's have been met with positive reviews, with Chief Video Producer for Planet360, Alex Ugryumov using his PTRig "in the air, on a boat, on a car", with Ugryumov saying that "compared to other holders I used, it performs much better: less parallax, better and easier stitching, convenient to charge the cameras".
Panorics' CEO, Alex Boch, explains: "With over $1 billion invested in VR already and more than 30 million virtual reality headsets on the market by 2020, availability of immersive video content is going to be key to the whole industry exponential growth. VR is expanding rapidly and there won't be any industry not affected by its growth. We are very excited to be a part of a new VR era and Panorics works hard on developing innovative 360 video products".
