Maxon and its Cinebench R15 benchmark have been a big part of CPU benchmarking for quite some time now, with Cinebench R15 launching all the way back in September 2013 but the company has finally released a new version of its benchmark with all of the advancements of Maxon's Cinema 4D technology inside.

The new Cinebench R20 benchmark is a CPU-only benchmark, with Maxon removing the GPU benchmark portion out of the new run. In the new CPU benchmark it's also much more stressful on your hardware, with Maxon noting that "Cinebench R20 uses a much larger and more complex test scene than R15, requiring about 8x the computational power needed to render it. The test also requires about 4x the memory. Therefore, R15 and R20 results cannot be compared".

AMD unleashed its super-threaded Ryzen Threadripper CPUs in 2017 and continued that trend last year, and will have even more cores and threads in the third-gen Zen 2-based Threadrippers arriving soon. We need benchmarks like Cinebench to continue to expand and grow with next-gen CPU offerings, and here we have it. But there's one gigantic problem.

The day is finally here: NVIDIA has released its new GeForce 419.35 WHQL drivers that fix the annoying DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG error that would crash Apex Legends.

NVIDIA's new GeForce 419.35 WHQL drivers are optimized for Apex Legends, Tom Clancy's The Division 2, and Devil May Cry 5. There are also some new optimizations built into the new drivers for just-released games like Battlefield V, Metro Exodus, and Anthem. The new drivers also add three monitors to the G-Sync compatible list, with the BenQ XL2540-B/ZOWIE XL LCD, Acer XF250Q, and Acer ED273 A all now in the G-Sync monitor support ecosystem.

Microsoft's new disc-less Xbox One will release in May, key sources tell Windows Central.

Keen on pretending the 2013 launch Xbox doesn't exist, Microsoft's new digital-only console will be an Xbox One S model without a disc drive. The console is reportedly called the Xbox One S All-Digital Edition and is slated to release sometime in May, with pre-orders opening up next month. The system is likely to cost around $150 and may have a slimmer 500GB hard drive.

The Xbox-as-a-service ecosystem is a thriving billion-dollar market built specifically for digital content; Microsoft has made PCs and consoles key gateways to this lucrative empire of services, subscriptions, and game sales. The success of its Game Pass service led me to predict Microsoft would make a low-cost digital-only console to serve as an entry point to its services.

It has been discovered that Epic Games hasn't implemented the most basic form of account protection in their new 'Epic Store'. The signing up process doesn't feature email verification.

While browsing my plethora of different gaming Reddits I came across a particularly interesting post. Reddit user, -dov claims that the Epic Games Store doesn't even have the most basic form of account protection, 'email verification'. Originally I thought that this couldn't be true and that for a brand new store - especially to Epic Games' standards - should feature the most basic step of account protection, simple email verification. So, I made a new Epic Store account and to my amazement, -dov is very much right, there is no email verification.

Many other Epic Store users chimed in on the this discovery, saying that they have received many spam emails from Epic Games saying "Your epic account was accessed/changed..", when no changes were actually made by the owner. -dov says "I found fraudulent accounts had been created using two different email addresses of mine on the Epic Store when attempting to create an account. Had them deactivated, changed the passwords on the email accounts, checked my bank and credit card statements for any fraudulent activity but everything seemed ok." He continued and says "The worst part is that even having those fraudulent accounts deactivated doesn't solve anything unless I make burner profiles to squat on my own email addresses without someone creating another account using them since they don't have to validate it."

Back in December, there was a teaser from the producers of 'The Fast And The Furious' for a live-action Sonic movie. The movie titled 'Sonic The Hedgehog' has quite an odd looking Sonic...

At the start of December, we saw the teaser video that only showcased the silhouette of Sonic but that video did raise some eyebrows to size of Sonic's legs and overall odd-looking appearance. Looking at Sonic in live-action is very strange, and especially in the different images of him in the second image that appears in the entirety of this post. The second image showcases Sonic in a variety of different poses, and also is described as a character that is "Chill & Likable" and also is "Mischievous but not Malicious".

I will have to see a proper trailer for the upcoming movie before I make any full opinions on the design, as there isn't a trailer this could not be the final design of Sonic either. The live-action movie is planned for release sometime in November, as more information is released I will be sure to update you.

Frozenbyte and Modus Games have announced Trine 4: The Nightmare Prince, a new co-op platforming title packed with action and puzzles.

The above announcement trailer has been released onto the FrozenbyteGames YouTube Channel and shows gameplay of knight Pontius, thief Zoya, or wizard Amadeus to attempt to solve puzzles in some detailed looking environments. Many fans of the Trine community didn't receive Trine 3 very well due to it adopting 3D sections, Trine 4 has returned to 2.5D which should provide a much more positive response.

Trine 4 will also be coming in a 'UItimate Collection' which includes the complete Trine series and has Trine 4 included. The 'Ultimate Collection' also contains a soundtrack package, with a digital art book and other extra items. A standard copy of Trine 4 comes in at a price of $30 and the 'Ultimate Collection' will cost $50. The release of Devil May Cry 5 is almost upon us and in just before the Capcom themed celebrations start, the games director Hideaki Itsuno has admitted what most Devil May Cry 4 fans already knew.

In a recent interview, Hideaki Itsuno has revealed that throughout the development of Devil May Cry 4, the game ran into a major budgeting issue. This problem was more than apparent to gamers as it was noticeable that the second half of the game featured re-used levels. The claim that Devil May Cry 4 had budgeting issues was never confirmed by Itsuno until now, here is what he had to say "You had to traverse back over to the previous levels during the latter half of the game."

As expected, and just like most things that are problems with development, the issue was centered around budgeting. According to Itsuno, while Devil May Cry 4 was quite successfull the title had the exact same amount of budget as that of Devil May Cry 3. The decision to re-use some levels in Devil May Cry 4 was to ensure that the game would release on time. Here is what Itsuno finished up with when talking about Devil May Cry 4. "Well, it turns out the budget was similar to what we had on Devil May Cry 3. Creating the game in the same way (with the first half) would have meant we would have run out of budget, and also we wouldn't have been able to ship in time."

Capcom have released a new trailer for the upcoming Devil May Cry 5, the trailer showcases one of the most over-the-top fighting scenes in gaming history.

The trailer which has been released onto the official Devil May Cry YouTube Channel gives us a great side-by-side comparison shot between that of the live-action trailer and the actual in-game battle. We see the likes of Dante, Nero, Trish and V battling it out in both the game and also real-life.

While these comical live-action cut-scenes are quite amusing to watch they will not be available to every player of Devil May Cry 5. These cut-scenes can only be activated in-game for users that picked up the Deluxe Edition for the game. Devil May Cry 5 will be launching on March 8th for the Xbox One, PS4 and PC.

We know that the world of 5G begins this year with an unlimited marketing train starting with 5G leader Qualcomm, but both Qualcomm and Intel were teasing 5G modules for M.2 slots at Mobile World Congress 2019, an interesting move for 5G adoption.

Fibocom was showing off its FG100 module at MWC 2019, a new M.2 module that packs the Intel XMM8160 5G modem that will make its way into new PCs and laptops. AnandTech also saw a "similar M.2 module" that used the Qualcomm Snapdragon X55 modem, and was on display at the Qualcomm booth at MWC 2019. The new 5G modules are on the widest M.2 standard which is 30mm wide, and as AT notes is "8mm wider than the storage based drives we normally see in this form factor". The Fibocom FG100 has support for both NSA and SA networks, and 5G in mmWave bands and sub 6GHz, too.

We're looking at up 2.4Gbps of LTE download speeds using LTE, up to 4Gbps using sub-6GHz, and up to 6Gbps on mmWave. Upload speeds aren't too far off with up to 450Mbps on LTE, around 2.5Gbps on sub-6, and up to 3Gbps on mmWave.

The next game in the Forza franchise looks like it'll be a mobile-focused game, with Turn 10 Studios' next game could be a new mobile game called Forza Street.

Forza Street turned up as a mistaken leak in the latest Forza Motorsport Week in Review, and has been corrected since it leaked. It teased: "Developed in partnership with UK-based studio, Electric Square, Forza Street is built from the ground up to support a wide range of Windows 10, iOS, and Android devices".

If the rumors are true and Forza Street is in development, it seems that the project has been outsourced to Brighton-based studio Electric Square. The developer previously worked with Microsoft Studios last year on Miami Street, which was a Windows 10 game that promised casual "pick-up-and-play gameplay. GTPlanet, the source of this news, says that Forza franchise director Dan Greenawalt, will have his "Forza Monthly" debut in March, which could be the announcement of Forza Street.

It looks like the OnePlus 7 smartphone could be exciting, with its latest leaked images teasing a notch-free design that could be joined by a purported mechanical pop-up camera.

The current-gen OnePlus 6T had a 'teardrop' notch that lots of people didn't like, but the new images from Weibo and Slashleaks show a different picture with the OnePlus 7. The new OnePlus 7 has a smaller bezel, no notch, and a pop-up camera. We've seen other leaked images of the new OnePlus 7 with a curved display and sliding mechanism th at hides the front-facing camera and no notch, but the pop-up camera would be a cool addition to the new OnePlus 7.

While the idea of a pop-up camera sounds great, it hasn't been as well received as the notch or removal of the 3.5mm headphone jack. This could change with a great implementation of a pop-up camera, such as the new OnePlus 7. We should expect to hear more about the OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7T over the coming months.

WB and DC went into the end of 2018 with the absolutely phenomenal success of Aquaman, making over $1.1 billion globally. Now we have the next movie in the DC slate with Shazam right around the corner on April 5, with the latest trailer released just minutes ago.

Chuck star Zachary Levi was born for the role of Shazam, utterly dissolving into his role like Ryan Reynolds did with Deadpool. The new Shazam trailer shows us that we can expect a movie filled with excitement, joy, and action - with what seems like a beautiful blend of Superman: The Movie and the Tom Hanks led Big. The new trailer features a bit where Shazam picks up a Batman figure and says 'I'm Batman. Get him, Batman!' with Batman and Superman toys in the background.

The big bad in Shazam is Dr. Thaddeus Sivana, which in the comics was nearly at a point where he was the one to receive the powers Shazam receives. We don't know exactly what to expect in terms of how they'll approach both characters, good and bad, but there is a big family focus on Shazam which I think will really open it up compared to previous DC and Marvel movies.

We've seen both Samsung and Huawei unveil their respective foldable smartphones in the Galaxy Fold and Mate X, but it looks like LEGO is the first to market with a tongue-in-cheek release of its LEGO Fold.

LEGO Fold isn't quite a foldable smartphone but its own Pop-Up Book that the company takes a dig at Samsung's marketing for the Galaxy Fold smartphone in. The new LEGO Fold is made from foldable plastic, where it features a 5-inch cover that unfolds out to a larger 11-inch storybook screen. LEGO promises that the new LEGO Fold "never runs out of battery" unlike Samsung's Galaxy Fold.

You won't need to spend over $2000 on the LEGO Fold as it will go on sale for just $69.99.

If you weren't already confused about USB and its last moves with the USB 3.2 standard then buckle up, because things are about to get more confusing. The USB Promoter Group, which is the standards body of the USB specification, has announced the new USB4 standard.

The new USB4 standard will be fully detailed in the coming months, but for now we know there will be a doubling in bandwidth from 20Gbps over USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 to a huge 40Gbps under USB4. USB4 will rid itself of the Type-A connector and move into the world of USB-C which will unify things on top of pumping a huge 40Gbps of bandwidth around.

The slightly confusing part is that USB4 is not just a new standard, but it is a new speed and connection standard.

Dozens of Anthem players say the game is crashing their PS4 consoles in various ways, preventing normal startup and in rare instances actually breaking their systems.

If it's one thing that proves Anthem needed more time in the oven, it's the reports that BioWare's new live shooter is messing with console and PC hardware. Over 30 people on the Anthem subreddit confirm the game is actually crashing their systems and forcing hardware to turn off at various points in the game. Crashing instances seem random and can occur during matchmaking, in-game missions, quitting the application from the PS menu, or even during loading screens. Kotaku notes the official Anthem forums are littered with examples too.

Users say the game can crash anything from a PS4 (most prevalent) to an Xbox One and even PCs--one user even said Anthem broke their PS4 console altogether. Gamers report freezing, abrupt crashing that leads to shut downs, and even soft-brick boot loops that require Safe Mode startups to repair storage data. These hard crashes send the PS4 into Safe Mode irregardless for system check-ups and essentially make the PS4 think you unplugged the power cord. I can tell you from experience doing this too many times can ruin your hard drive.

Respawn's red-hot 60-player battle royale Apex Legends is growing faster than Fortnite, and could eventually outpace Epic's titan.

Within less than a month, Respawn's free-to-play Apex Legends shooter has hit 50 million players across the globe, a feat that took Fortnite four times as long to achieve. Niko Partners analyst Daniel Ahmad explains this growth with some simple stats:

With tons of justified criticism and a rather low Metacritic score, Anthem doesn't appear to be doing too well right now. Could BioWare be next on EA's chopping block? Studio producer tells fans not to worry.

EA has a history of killing game devs. Since 1987, EA has shut down 14 studios, the most recent of which was Visceral Games (EA not only shuttered the studio but scrapped Visceral's ambitious Star Wars game). With two disastrous games back-to-back (Mass Effect: Andromeda and Anthem), fans are worried BioWare could be the 15th head in EA's macabre collection.

BioWare producer Mike Gamble is confident this won't happen (and we are too). Anthem is getting great support from the community and lots of people are playing it, Gamble says. "Don't worry about us. We got lots of work to do, but you aren't the only one who likes Anthem," the dev said told a concerned fan.
