Kanye West says the movie 'Get Out' is about him on Twitter

Anthony Garreffa | BREAKING STORY | Jul 20, 2020 10:44 PM CDT

Kayne West is in the headlines yet again, going viral on Twitter right now -- but this time it's not about his run for the 2020 elections against President Trump and Joe Biden -- but some major bombshells through a series of tweets.

Kanye West says the movie 'Get Out' is about him on Twitter

The biggest one that caught my eye just now is where Kanye says "Everybody knows the movie get out is about me". Now for those who don't remember and can't connect some of those dots, I'll break this bit down for you:

What is Get Out? Get Out is a horror film written and directed by Jordan Peele, where it centers around Chris -- an African-American man, decides to visit his Caucasian girlfriend's parents during a weekend getaway. Although they seem normal at first, he is not prepared to experience the horrors ahead" as explained in a quick Google search.

Microsoft finally moving Minecraft from Amazon Web Services to Azure

Anthony Garreffa | Gaming | Jul 20, 2020 10:07 PM CDT

In a move which I'm sure felt like forever, Microsoft is finally moving Minecraft onto its own Azure server infrastructure -- away from competitor Amazon Web Services (AWS).

Microsoft finally moving Minecraft from Amazon Web Services to Azure

Minecraft developer Mojang has been using AWS for Minecraft Realms since 2014, where gamers can create private play spaces in Minecraft without needing to set up and then host a private server, for an $8 per month subscription service.

But now, things are changing with Mojang Studios moving Minecraft away from AWS and into the warm arms of Azure -- Microsoft's cloud service. Also remember Microsoft acquired Mojang back in 2014 for $2.5 billion and now owns Minecraft.

D-Wave goes Down Under, Leap quantum cloud service now in Australia

D-Wave Systems Inc. has just announced that it has expanded its Leap quantum cloud service to two new markets: India and Australia.

D-Wave goes Down Under, Leap quantum cloud service now in Australia

This move is a big deal for both India and Australia as it means developers, researchers, and businesses in those countries get access to something quite incredible -- and something not available in their respective countries: access to D-Wave 2000Q quantum computers.

D-Wave Systems recently opened up their D-Wave 2000Q quantum computers over the same Leap quantum cloud service to researchers and scientists to help out in the COVID-19 pandemic. This news now unlocks India and Australia researchers access to use the quantum computers for their tasks.

This is our best look at the Galaxy Z Fold 2 foldable smartphone

Anthony Garreffa | Mobile Devices | Jul 20, 2020 9:24 PM CDT

We are getting closer and closer to Samsung's huge Unpacked 2020 event, where we will be treated to the virtual announcements of the Galaxy Note 20 seires of phones, as well as the new Galaxy Z Fold 2.

This is our best look at the Galaxy Z Fold 2 foldable smartphone

Samsung's new Galaxy Z Fold 2 and its story is slowly unfolding, where we thought it would be called the Galaxy Fold 2 -- successor to the current foldable Galaxy Fold smartphone. But it seems Samsung is re-branding it to the Galaxy Z Fold 2, which we have some final renders through fresh leaks.

The leak isn't exactly clear, but it seems to retain most of the design of the original Galaxy Fold -- but you'll notice that it has an upgraded camera system, and similar to the Galaxy Note 20 Ultra smartphone.

Tenet gets delayed indefinitely by Warner Bros. over COVID-19 pandemic

Anthony Garreffa | TV, Movies & Home Theatre | Jul 20, 2020 8:12 PM CDT

Tenet has to be the biggest movie of 2020 that has been affected so badly because of the on-going COVID-19 pandemic, which has shut most of the world down and especially entertainment-focused businesses like cinemas.

Tenet gets delayed indefinitely by Warner Bros. over COVID-19 pandemic

Warner Bros. has now officially delayed Christopher Nolan's new epic Tenet, indefinitely.

US cinemas were pegging their hopes on their doors being re-opened and a big tent pole like Tenet bringing in millions of customers. Well, it's not happening. Tenet was due for release on July 17, 2020 but was delayed until July 31 and then eventually delayed until August 12 -- and now once again, indefinitely.

Samsung's new Galaxy Fold 2 could instead be called Galaxy Z Fold 2

Anthony Garreffa | Mobile Devices | Jul 20, 2020 7:30 PM CDT

Samsung is expected to unveil its successor to the Galaxy Fold smartphone at its Unpacked 2020 event on August 5, where we should also be introduced to the new Galaxy Note 20 smartphones.

Samsung's new Galaxy Fold 2 could instead be called Galaxy Z Fold 2

But when it comes to the Galaxy Fold successor most people thought it would be called the Galaxy Fold 2, but now we're seeing new reports of the 'Galaxy Z Fold 2' -- which seems to be a re-brand of the Galaxy Fold. Remember that Samsung has two foldable phones right now: the Galaxy Fold as its flagship foldable, while there's the cheaper, and clamshell-style Galaxy Z Flip.

The new reports suggest that Samsung's purported Galaxy Z Fold 2 will feature a 7.7-inch Youm On-Cell Touch AMOLED (Y-OCTA) display with a super-slick 120Hz display. Samsung will also reportedly be using the same Ultra-Thin glass that it did on the Galaxy Z Flip smartphone.

Intel's new Core i9-10850K is pretty much the Core i9-10900K

Anthony Garreffa | Processors | Jul 20, 2020 6:44 PM CDT

It seems Intel is about to launch another Core i9 processor in its growing family of Comet Lake-S desktop processors in the form of the 10th generation Core CPUs.

Intel's new Core i9-10850K is pretty much the Core i9-10900K

The next chip in line from Intel seems to be the Core i9-10850K, which is a very slightly cut down Core i9-10900K (our review here) which remains the same 10-core and 20-thread CPU but with reduced clock speeds. The new CPU has appeared as an option for system makers, with US-based PC builder Digital Storm listing the Core i9-10850K.

The new Core i9-10850K will offer 10 cores and 20 threads, which is identical to the flagship Core i9-10900K. Where the changs happen are in the base and boost CPU clock speeds, with a 100MHz reduction from the Core i9-10900K. So we're looking at the Core i9-10850K having 3.6GHz base and 5.2GHz boost clocks, but one larger change.

Epic integrates into GOG launcher in push for 'universal ownership'

Derek Strickland | Gaming | Jul 20, 2020 4:12 PM CDT

Today the Epic Games Store has received full integration support into CD Projekt RED's GOG Galaxy 2.0 platform, a move that sees storefronts and ecosystems blurring lines and joining forces.

Epic integrates into GOG launcher in push for 'universal ownership'

With GOG Galaxy, CDPR has an ambitious idea: To unify all storefronts in a universal launcher. Some stores are resistant to the idea--Steam, for example, and EA's Origin--but Epic has pledged their support. GOG Galaxy 2.0 can now link up with your Epic account and migrate, launch, and connect to your Epic Games Store content and games.

"We're partnering with our friends at Epic Games to bring you a more seamless and reliable experience while organizing, installing, and launching your Epic Games Store games via GOG Galaxy 2.0 thanks to the new official integration," CDPR wrote in a GOG update pane.

Rapper Logic to stream exclusively on Twitch in seven-figure deal

Derek Strickland | Gaming | Jul 20, 2020 3:01 PM CDT

Logic might've quit the rap game, but he's not ready to give up gaming altogether.

Rapper Logic to stream exclusively on Twitch in seven-figure deal

Logic, the rapper behind the platinum album Everybody, has signed an exclusive streaming deal with Twitch worth seven figures. The move comes as more celebrities and artists are pivoting towards streaming due to COVID-19 disrupting tours, premieres, and shows. Twitch is likewise pivoting to attract mainstream performers outside of its typical gaming sphere.

Even still, Logic says he's just a nerd that loves video games. "I'm not this rapper guy, man. I'm just a nerd. I love video games," he said in a recent interview with The Verge. That doesn't mean he'll stop being a musician--despite announcing his departure from the rap world, Logic will still perform on Twitch.

New Spider-Man game hits 4K 60FPS in PlayStation 5 PERFORMANCE mode

Derek Strickland | Gaming | Jul 20, 2020 12:56 PM CDT

Spider-Man Miles Morales may be among the first playable 8K resolution games on Sony's next-gen PS5.

New Spider-Man game hits 4K 60FPS in PlayStation 5 PERFORMANCE mode

Today Insomniac Games confirmed some surprising news: Their new Spider-Man game will run at 4K 60FPS on PS5 via an optional Performance Mode, hinting at higher resolution for the other mode. Insomniac didn't clarify if this was native 4K resolution, though.

Just like PS4 Pro Enhanced games, some next-gen PS5 games will have two modes: A performance mode that prioritizes frame rates and gameplay, and another that emphasizes resolution. The new Demon's Souls remake is another PS5 game that will have these two modes.

PlayStation 5 DualSense vs PS4 DualShock side-by-side size comparison

The PS5's new DualSense controller is somewhat chonky and outsizes the PS4's DualShock 4 in new side-by-side comparisons.

PlayStation 5 DualSense vs PS4 DualShock side-by-side size comparison

Summer Game Fest's Geoff Keighley recently went hands-on with the DualSense in the first-ever PS5 vs PS4 controller size comparison, and the results aren't too surprising. Keighley took a bunch of pictures of the new PS5 controller, but there's one that we're interested in most: the side-by-side shot.

Early images from Sony hinted the DualSense would be wider and taller than the DualShock 4, and that's indeed true. The controller has more fang-shaped handles and is somewhat reminiscent of a PS3 prototype and DualShock 4 mash-up. According to Keighley, the DualSense weighs more than the DualShock 4

Phil Spencer shoots down Game Pass coming to Switch, competing systems

Derek Strickland | Gaming | Jul 20, 2020 9:15 AM CDT

As we've said before, don't expect Xbox Game Pass to show up on competing platforms like the Nintendo Switch, and especially not on Sony's PlayStation ecosystem.

Phil Spencer shoots down Game Pass coming to Switch, competing systems

In a recent interview with German website Game Star, Xbox boss Phil Spencer discussed why critical services like Game Pass won't show up on other hardware platforms like the Switch, PlayStation, or even Google Stadia. The reason is pretty simple: Microsoft can't bring over the other Xbox ecosystem tidbits like achievements, friends, and more.

"The thing about other gaming console platforms is we're not able to bring a full Xbox experience on those platforms," Spencer said.

AMD's next-gen RDNA 2 'major leap forward' up to 225% faster than RDNA

Anthony Garreffa | Graphics Cards | Jul 19, 2020 11:44 PM CDT

A bunch of hot RDNA 2 information dropped today from Tom on Moore's Law is Dead, with his sources telling him that AMD's next-gen Big Navi will offer up to 225% more performance over RDNA... the GPU that powered the Radeon RX 5700 XT.

AMD's next-gen RDNA 2 'major leap forward' up to 225% faster than RDNA

According to these sources estimates are that RDNA is a "major leap forward for them 195% to 225% of the current available cards. But their internal estimates are still projecting the performance per dollar cards up to the upper end of the range".

Another tease is that the "top RDNA 2" would feature 72 compute units, which is where the leaks on the flagship RDNA 2 graphics card being 40-50% faster than NVIDIA's current-gen flagship GeForce RTX 2080 Ti graphics card.

NVCache on Ampere GeForce GPUs makes your PC more like a PlayStation 5

Anthony Garreffa | Graphics Cards | Jul 19, 2020 11:09 PM CDT

We heard about NVCache back in May 2020 with some Ampere leaks, with NVIDIA's purported NVCache acting like HBCC -- HBCC being AMD's own High Bandwidth Cache Controller that debuted with Vega.

NVCache on Ampere GeForce GPUs makes your PC more like a PlayStation 5

Sony is using some truly next-gen storage technology inside of its PlayStation 5 console, with a deep dive on that here. Microsoft will be doing the same with their Xbox Series X console, but what about the PC? AMD will surely have something nifty up their sleeve with RDNA 2 -- while NVIDIA has NVCache.

Well, back in the May leaks about Ampere and NVCache we heard that it "leverages both your DDR & SSD for enhanced load times & VRAM". The new leaks from Moore's Law is Dead tease that NVIDIA's upcoming NVCache on Ampere cards in the GeForce RTX 3000 series family will "dynamically utilize bandwidth from SSDs, VRAM, and DDR for multiple tasks at the same time".

NVIDIA's next-gen Ampere DLSS 3.0 could work on ANY game that uses TAA

Anthony Garreffa | Graphics Cards | Jul 19, 2020 10:32 PM CDT

NVIDIA has some near GPU cheat codes when it comes to its DLSS technology (Deep Learning Super Sampling), with DLSS 2.0 providing double the performance in Hideo Kojima's Death Stranding.

NVIDIA's next-gen Ampere DLSS 3.0 could work on ANY game that uses TAA

But according to Moore's Law is Dead, DLSS 3.0 is going to be an even bigger game changer. In his latest video, Tom talks about some of the other Ampere GPU features (you can read more on the 3-4x ray tracing performance on the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti right here) and one of them is DLSS 3.0 technology.

DLSS 3.0 will reportedly "work in any game with TAA" but it will require a Game Ready driver to do so, meaning developers will have to do some "specific programming per game to get it to work, but it should be easier than before".

AMD aims Big Navi launch for November as 'show of strength' for RDNA 2

Anthony Garreffa | Graphics Cards | Jul 19, 2020 9:42 PM CDT

AMD is having one of the best years in its history, with the successful launches of its new Zen 2-powered CPUs in the Ryzen 3000 series desktop CPUs, Ryzen 4000 series mobile CPUs, new Ryzen Threadripper PRO chips, new EPYC processors, and so much more.

AMD aims Big Navi launch for November as 'show of strength' for RDNA 2

But the GPU dominance hasn't started just yet, and while AMD might have shaken the GPU tree with the RDNA-powered Radeon RX 5000 series and its flagship Radeon RX 5700 XT -- we ain't seen nothing yet. The new rumors from Moore's Law is Dead suggests we should expect AMD to outright dominate 2020 in more ways than one.

We are already expecting a huge 40-50% increase in performance from the flagship RDNA 2 card over the GeForce RTX 2080 Ti, which would make the -- let's call it the Radeon RX 6700 XT -- twice as fast as the Radeon RX 5700 XT.
