I still remember my Dad walking through the door with an Amiga 500 under his arms, and a few years of my youth zapped by. The computer was built into the keyboard and if you wanted to use another 1.44-inch FDD then you'd need to buy a 1.44-inch FDD external drive, and plug it into the Amiga 500 keyboard.

But now, Apple seems to be bringing the 80s computer back with a recent patent filing that would see a future Mac inside of the keyboard. Apple filed the patent with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) for a "Computer in an input device" that would use a thicker Magic Keyboard with all of the Mac components inside, connecting to an external display with a single cable. Nice.

The port on the outside of the keyboard would do everything: power delivery, data, and the keyboard itself will be paired with the trackpad and Magic Mouse... wirelessly, of course.

NVIDIA hasn't confirmed whether it was hacked or not, but it looks like there's a bit of a conspiracy theory building around what happened to Team Green. Supposedly, a South American hacking group called "LAPU$" are responsible for the cyberattack on NVIDIA.

LAPU$ reportedly attacked NVIDIA's internal servers through a ransomware attack, taking over 1TB of NVIDIA's precious data. NVIDIA hasn't confirmed this, obviously... but another tentacle of this conspiracy is that NVIDIA reportedly hacked the hackers, in an attempt to encrypt their 1TB of data (that wasn't stolen, right?).

NVIDIA aren't hackers and I'm sure they might have a team of really smart people, but they wouldn't be anon-level digital soldiers like LAPU$ or Anonymous. The group made a copy of the 1TB of NVIDIA data in a virtual machine environment meaning that NVIDIA's attempt to out hack the hack will fail.

Game Pass on Steam? Valve is all for it, and Gabe Newell wants to make it happen.

While Game Pass probably won't ever show up on the Nintendo Switch, it could eventually be integrated into competing storefronts like Steam. Valve boss Gabe Newell is interested in the prospect of Game Pass coming to Steam...now it's all up to Phil Spencer.

In a recent interview with PC Gamer, Newell said he'd be "more than happy" to allow Game Pass on Steam. And why not? Microsoft made over $12 billion from software and services driven in part by Xbox Game Pass' organic subscription model.

FromSoftware's new BotW Souls simulator Elden Ring has serious issues on PC. Thankfully consoles seem to fare better, and loading times are pretty speedy on next-gen SSDs. This is rightfully so given the advanced PCIe Gen4 x4 hardware and major OS tweaks used by the PS5 and Series X/S.

According to YouTuber El Analista de Bits, Elden Ring loads faster on the PlayStation 5 than it does on the Series X/S combo. This makes a lot of sense given the speed disparity between the two SSDs; the Series X/S hits 2.4GB/sec speeds on PCIe 4.0 whereas the PS5 is more than twice as fast at 5.5GB/sec.

FromSoftware says it is working on a fix for Elden Ring's frame rate issues on PC.

Elden Ring is one of the best-reviewed games of all time, but a a recent day one patch has borked the game on PC. Gamers with the most powerful graphics cards on the market still aren't able to hit 1080p 60FPS. Streamer DarkViperAU says the game hits anywhere from 20-60FPS in 1080p with an RTX 3090 and an AMD Ryzen 9 5950X CPU combo. At this point it's practically a tradition that FromSoft games have wonky PC performance.

Luckily FromSoftware is on the case. The developer has issued a FAQ post discussing updates and fixes it plans to roll out. The FPS problems on PC are a top priority.

A study on the fossil fuel financing titled "If money talks, what is the banking industry saying about climate change?" has been published in the journal Climate Policy.

The top ten banks are the largest funders of fossil fuel organizations. Despite discussing climate change more in general, they haven't made any definitive action to reduce their impact on it. A total of $425.92 billion was spent in 2020 alone by banks such as JP Morgan Chase (U.S.), Barclays (U.K.), Toronto Dominion Bank (Canada), and Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (Japan) on financing fossil fuels.

NASA has selected seventeen proposals for futuristic space technologies to receive funding.

The proposals are funded by the NASA Innovative Advanced Concepts (NIAC) program, which fosters the development of early-stage studies to evaluate technologies for future aeronautics and space missions. Seventeen researchers from nine states have been awarded a total of $5.1 million, with twelve new projects receiving Phase I awards and five projects receiving Phase II awards to continue work on their concepts.

The increase has come following the Russian military's capture of the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant and Pripyat.

Ukrainian officials say the heavy fighting between Ukrainian and Russian troops in the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone has led to increased radiation. The automated radiation-monitoring system in the area shows a 20-fold increase in gamma radiation above normal levels at multiple observation points. The cause has been attributed to radioactive dust thrown up by the movement of troops and heavy military equipment in the area.

The power plant is currently entombed in a concrete sarcophagus, surrounded by the New Safe Confinement structure shown in the picture above. Combat in the area has led to concerns that munitions may potentially damage these structures, threatening to release more radioactive material.

Black smoke can be seen rising from the Chuhuiv Air Base after attacks, while smoke clouds have moved over the Mykolaiv Air Base due to nearby attacks.

The NFT space is plagued with projects that end up scamming investors, and recently a famous porn star was added to the list of projects that have ripped off investors.

A YouTube investigator that goes by the name Coffeezilla exposed the porn star turned influencer Lana Rhoades that created the NFT project called "CryptoSis," which features collections of cartoon images of Rhoades. The actress told her audience that purchasing these NFTs would be an investment, and that she will be working hard to "increase the value of CryptoSis's, and make it a lucrative investment for holders that they can sell for more than they paid to mint".

It should be noted that if Rhoades said that her NFT project was purely artwork and not going to make any buyers profit on their purchase, then it wouldn't be a scam. But since Rhoades has failed to provide on the promises she has made to her community/the public roadmap for the project, as well as withdrawn $1.5 million in Ethereum from the project's wallet, it only seems reasonable to assume that Rhoades has taken investors' funds and disappear.

Roscosmos Director-General Dmitry Rogozin has spoken out on Twitter against the sanctions targeting its space program.

Intel's upcoming mobile mega-thread CPU has been teased, with partners of Intel already receiving a new platform codenamed "Alder Lake-HX".

The new Alder Lake-HX test sample CPUs are labeled as "8+8" which would be an indicator that the new Alder Lake-HX chip that's being tested has 8 Performance, and 8 Efficient cores (thus, 16 cores in total). Right now, Alder Lake-P and Alder Lake-U processors are limited to 14 cores, but the new Alder Lake-HX chips look to be competing with the Zen 3-based Ryzen 6000 HX series CPUs from AMD.

Intel's new 16-core mobile Alder Lake-HX processor will be aiming for the "Muscle" segment of laptop users, with between 45-55W TDP. The codename "Alder Lake-HX" processor that we have here is just a single SKU, and should end up being the Core i9-12980HX... but there could be other SKUs that we'll see in the coming months.

The Pentagon has some harsh words for Generation Z -- those aged between 18 and 25 years old -- with the Defense Visual Information Distribution Service's explaining in a press release that this generation is literally not built as strong as the last.

NVIDIA has just silently launched its new GA103-200 GPU-based GeForce RTX 3060 Ti, at least with ZOTAC China launching its new custom RTX 3060 Ti... meanwhile, the flagship GeForce RTX 3090 Ti is nowhere to be seen. Righty-o.

ZOTAC's new custom GeForce RTX 3060 Ti graphics cards come in three new flavors: Apocalypse, X-GAMING, and PGF which all pack the fresh new GA103-200 GPU. So what's the difference here? Well, ZOTAC has added an "X" to the end of the product name of these GPUs.

Elon Musk has teased that his team is working on getting Steam games working inside of their Tesla cars.

In a reply tweet to Ryan McCaffrey asking when we'd see Cyberpunk 2077 on the Tesla Model S/X electric vehicles, Musk replied: "We're working through the general case of making Steam games work on a Tesla vs specific titles. Former is obviously where we should be long-term".

Musk did get asked another (funnier) question: would Cyberpunk on Cybertruck be a guarantee, or is it a wish long-term to which the Tesla and SpaceX founder simply replying with the "100%" emoji. It's good to see that Tesla is working on getting ALL games on Steam to work, rather than having to make specific titles Tesla-friendly. Now we just need to see Cyberpunk 2077 running inside of a Tesla Cybertruck, with Musk smiling out of the window.

NVIDIA has reportedly been slammed by a cyber attack, seeing parts of their systems taken offline including their mailing system. A spokesman for NVIDIA said: "We are investigating an incident. We don't have any additional information to share at this time".

The Telegraph reports that NVIDIA's internal systems were possibly compromised, forcing the company to take them offline -- mailing systems, developer tools could've been compromised -- so they were the first to be taken offline.

As for the cyber attack, of course, they're being connected to the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine, with many countries around the world preparing for more cyber attacks. As for the cyberattacks, they're nothing new as they've always happened, but now it's hit a company closer to home in the gaming world. I don't like the speculation and rumor that Russia is behind it, it's like what's happening overseas gives everyone a boogeyman to blame (like usual) as we don't know who is responsible for the cyberattack on NVIDIA.

I'm sure you're well aware of what is happening between Russia and Ukraine right now, but then we have hacking collective Anonymous, reportedly kicking off an operation against the Russian government and Vladimir Putin.

I'll stay out of the politics of this as I'm just reporting the news, but Anonymous is reportedly pushing into a "full-scale" cyberattack against the Russian Federation. The operation by Anonymous is targeting the Russian government, adding that "there is an inevitability that the private sector will most likely be affected too".

Anonymous continues: "Put yourselves in the shoes of the Ukrainians being bombed right now. Together we can change the world, we can stand up against anything. It is time for the Russian people to stand together and say "NO" to Vladimir Putin's war".

Valve boss Gabe Newell says most of the purchases made with crypto on Steam were not legitimate.

Why did Steam ban all crypto games? It's not because of the blockchain tech itself, but the "shady activities" that typically surround cryptocurrency including scams and fraud. Valve simply do not want to do business with those types of people, Newell says.
