Officials have announced the destruction of a combat helicopter reportedly worth $16 million - one of the best combat helicopters the nation has at its disposal.

The announcement comes from Ukraine's Ministry of Defense, which stated that Ukrainian troops have successfully destroyed a Russian Ka-52 helicopter. The Ukrainian Ministry of Defense took to Twitter to announce the victory, writing that Ukrainian warriors of the 25th Paratrooper Brigade shot down a Russian combat helicopter with MANPADS or Man-portable air-defense systems (surface-to-air missiles).

Notably, the Ka-52 helicopter is one of Russia's biggest assets in its invasion as it's able to provide support for both ground and air troops. Furthermore, Ukraine's Ministry of Defense released an estimation of Russia's losses for its war, with Ukrainian estimates putting Russian troop losses at 39,000, tank losses at 1,704, armored personnel vehicles at 3,920, artillery systems at 863, rocket systems at 252, anti-aircraft systems at 113, aircraft at 221, helicopters at 188, boats at 15 and vehicles at 2,803.

China has released an incredible image of one of Mars' natural satellites that orbit the Red Planet - the moon named Phobos.

There are two moons that orbit Mars, Phobos, and Deimos. Phobos is the larger of the two natural satellites and is positioned more closely to Mars than its sister satellite Deimos at just 3,700 miles. Both of the moons were discovered by American astronomer Asaph Hall in 1877, and now China's Tianwen-1 spacecraft has captured Phobos in unprecedented detail, showcasing the craters scattered across its surface.

Notably, Phobos' diameter stretches some 7 miles across, and looking at the recently released image, we can see impact craters from asteroids on its surface - in particular the crater Opik, which was named after the Estonian astronomer and astrophysicist Ernst Julius Opik. Furthermore, China's Tianwen-1 spacecraft has completed all of its required scientific operations, but since it's still operational, China's space agency is preparing the spacecraft for future missions.

KIOXIA has just announced its new CM7 Series enterprise NVMe SSDs that are on the PCIe 5.0 standard, offering up to a huge 14GB/sec read speeds, and up to a massive 30TB capacity.

The new KIOXIA CM7 Series enterprise NVMe SSDs are now shipping to select customers, with the company saying they're "optimized for the needs of high-performance, highly efficient servers and storage". KIOXIA is tapping the next-gen PCIe 5.0 standard, providing the new KIOXIA CM7 Series SSDs in the Enterprise and Datacenter Standard Form Factor (EDSFF) E3.S and 2.5-inch form factors.

KIOXIA is using the PCIe 5.0 x4 standard and says that the KIOXIA CM7 Series SSD "nearly saturates the PCIe 5.0 interface" with its up to 14GB/sec (14,000MB/sec) reads. The CM7-V comes in 1.6TB, 3.2TB, 6.4TB, and 12.8TB capacities while the CM7-R comes in 1.92TB, 3.84TB, 7.68TB, 15.3TB, and a gigantic 30.7TB capacities.

Some new data was shared by @InstLatX64 that the new 14th Gen Core "Meteor Lake" CPUs will have two architectures.

The new Intel 14th Gen Core "Meteor Lake" CPUs will mark a big departure for Intel, where it will be using a new tiled architecture, based on the upcoming Intel 4 process node. We should expect Redwood Cove P-Cores, and Crestmont E-Cores on the new Meteor Lake CPUs.

AMD is ramping up very quickly into its next-gen Zen 4 CPU architecture launch, with the latest rumors teasing AMD is sending out NDAs for Zen 4 CPUs, and that they're wanting to "carpet bomb" reviews for multiple Ryzen 7000 series CPUs in their lineup at launch.

Marvel unveiled one of the very rarest collectibles on the planet at San Diego Comic-Con, with Marvel teaming up with East Continental Gems with the introduction of the Infinity Collection of Gemstones.

The new ASRock Arc A380 Challenger graphics card has been spotted, joining the custom Arc A380 graphics card race with GUNNIR and its Arc A380 Photon OC 6G graphics card. ASRock is using 'Intel ARC' branding on the top of the card, just like we see on AMD Radeon and NVIDIA GeForce graphics cards from AIB partners.

The Matrix and John Wick star is currently doing the press rounds for DC League of Super-Pets, the new animated DC movie where he voices Batman, and said he'd love to play an older Batman in the future. Robert Pattinson played the caped crusader in Matt Reeves' recent "The Batman", while Ben Affleck truly captured the role in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Zack Snyder's Justice League.

I only got up just over a couple of hours ago, and I'm already head-first into the very latest rumors on NVIDIA's next-gen Ada Lovelace GPU architecture and the new GeForce RTX 40 series graphics cards.

In a series of tweets, leaker "kopite7kimi" teased that NVIDIA is reportedly working on "the beast" which rocks the PG137-SKU0 board and AD102-450-A1 GPU. That GPU would feature an insane 18176 CUDA cores, 48GB of GDDR6X memory at 24Gbps, and a huge 800W of total board power.

But then there was the tweet right after that, where the leaker says that NVIDIA will unveil its next-gen GeForce RTX 4090 graphics card. Kopite7kimi tweeted: "about RTX 4090, we will see her soon. Nothing to say". There's nothing more to say here, but we have to know that the GeForce RTX 4090 is very, very close at this point... but "we will see her soon" sounds very exciting.

NVIDIA is closer than it appears to launching its next-gen Ada Lovelace GPU architecture, with a purported "the beast" GPU powered by the AD102 GPU and a new board design: PG137.

The new NVIDIA PG137 board design is different from the PG139 that will make up the GeForce RTX 4090, with leaker "kopite7kimi" teasing "the beast" GPU: PG137-SKU0. This is reportedly powered by the AD102-450-A1 GPU with 18176 CUDA cores, an insane 48GB of GDDR6X memory at 24Gbps, and around 800W of TBP.

NVIDIA's purported "the beast" GPU with the AD102-450-A1 GPU and its huge 800W of power should require dual 16-pin PCIe power connectors. Quite the insane power leap, but if NVIDIA is scared of AMD and its next-gen RDNA 3-based Navi 31 GPU and its chiplet design... NVIDIA is going to drive up to 800W to beat it.

ASRock has been making some truly awesome AMD motherboards and some of the very best AMD Radeon RX series graphics cards, and will soon be joining the gaming monitor business.

The company has registered two new products that will make the ASRock Phantom Gaming series monitors, which will support AMD FreeSync Premium technology. ASRock is reportedly preparing a 27-inch and 34-inch monitor in its Phantom Gaming family, both registered at Displayport.org, Consumer.Go.Kr, and digital-cp licensing sites.

ASRock's upcoming Phantom Gaming "PG34WQ15R" will rock a 34-inch VA-based LCD panel, with a native 3440x1440 resolution and 165Hz refresh rate. The ASRock Phantom Gaming "PG27FF" has a 27-inch IPS-based panel with a native 1080p resolution and 165Hz refresh rate.

GPU prices have been slowly coming back down from the stratosphere, where we're back to kinda-regular pricing... and now the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti can be had for $900.

The price of NVIDIA GeForce RTX 30 series GPUs has been coming down over the last month, with the flagship GeForce RTX 3090 Ti already started falling from its $2000+ price down to $1500... and now it can be found for around $1450.

NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 3080 Ti can be purchased for $899... down from $930 with a $30 rebate card at Newegg, but down a big chunk from its $1100+ price from just weeks ago. That's for the custom triple-fan MSI Ventus GeForce RTX 3080 Ti graphics card, while the GeForce RTX 3090 can be purchased for $1250. Not too bad at all, and you get the 24GB of GDDR6X (up from the 12GB GDDR6X on the RTX 3080 Ti).

The Xbox Series X/S is getting another big quality-of-life upgrade that will help players get into games faster than ever before.

Microsoft is set to release a new Xbox update that will reduce console boot up times by as much as 5 seconds across both Xbox Series X/S consoles and older Xbox One systems. Xbox's Josh Munsee confirmed that cold startup times from total system shut down have been reduced thanks to a shorter boot animation, meaning gamers will be able to start up their systems much quicker and jump right into a session.

There's one catch, though. Xbox owners have to boot their systems from Energy Saver mode to boot faster. The reduced boot times won't work in Standby Mode, but to be fair, this lets you jump into a game more quickly than a cold boot. The update is even better for Xbox One systems that boot from older HDDs.

Halo Infinite has shaved off another feature that Bungie-era games shipped with, but to be fair, the game doesn't necessarily need it.

343 Industries and Microsoft have confirmed that Halo Infinite will not have online co-op matchmaking. Yes, the game will still have online co-operative play allowing you to connect with up to 3 other friends and play the campaign. But it will not feature the matchmaking system originally introduced in Halo Reach.

To be fair, Halo Infinite doesn't need this feature. Halo Reach's online matchmaking was introduced in an era where players didn't have things like Discord, which recently came to Xbox. Bungie also introduced rotating campaign challenges in Halo Reach allowing you to earn credits to unlock armors and cosmetics. Campaign matchmaking was (and still is) a nice bonus feature, but 343i has a lot more dire issues to worry about in Infinite right now (like the data bug, the massive desync issues, or even monetization).

Ubisoft has officially confirmed that Roller Champions isn't getting cancelled (at least for now).

Recent reports said that Ubisoft might cancel its new free-to-play Roller Champions game despite the game not even being half a year old. Roller Champions released in May 2022, and hasn't even been on the market for a full business quarter. That's hardly enough time to measure the game's full potential or success.

These reports prompted the Roller Champions dev to issue a statement debunking the rumors. "Let's clear it out of the way first. Roller Champions isn't getting cancelled, and Ubisoft fully supports it," the studio said on Twitter.

A child has had his finger broken by a robot during a chess tournament, and the moment was captured on video.

The 7-year-old boy that has yet to be named, was participating in a chess tournament in Moscow against a chess robot that was playing three games simultaneously. First reported by the Russian news outlet Baza, the robot was rented by the Moscow Chess Federation and has previously appeared in my exhibition matches in various locations.

As explained by Moscow Chess Federation President Sergey Lazarev, the child made a move and failed to give the robot enough time to calculate an appropriate move. As a result, the robot "grabbed him". Notably, outlets have reported that the child suffered from a fractured finger but was able to finish the tournament while wearing a cast.

A team of researchers has created the very first gene-edited dogs using a cloning process that involves skin cells.

South Korean biotech company ToolGen, along with Chungnam National University, created the gene-edited dogs and used CRISPR to remove a specific gene known as DJ-1 from the dogs' genomes. The DJ-1 gene is linked to cancer, Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's, and strokes.

According to the researchers, many purebred dogs can suffer from many inherited genetic conditions such as heart, skin, and eye problems, but this new gene-editing technique has the potential to remove the genes that cause those conditions before the dogs are birthed. The researchers spoke to The Telegraph and said their goal is to cure dogs of "pathogenic mutations induced by inbreeding".

An artificial intelligence system trained to produce images from text descriptions has revealed what it "thinks" is inside a black hole.

The AI system is called DALL-E and is a 12-billion parameter version of GPT-3, a autoregressive language model that using deep learning to produce human-like text. Both AI systems were developed by OpenAI, and DALL-E, in particular, has proven to produce very interesting results based on the text that is entered into its prompt box. Users can ask DALL-E to produce anything they want. Quite literally anything.

I asked DALL-E to show me an image of the inside of a black hole, which, as many people would know, is literally impossible verify given human's current understanding of black holes and their vicious nature. However, the results that DALL-E provided me was still very surprising as the AI was able to produce a completely original batch of accurate black hole images that can be found below.
