E3 2016 - Surprise! Bethesda has not only announced Fallout 4 and DOOM receiving VR support through the HTC Vive in 2017, but they've teamed with developer Arkane Studios - known for Dishonored, on Prey.

Prey is a first-person sci-fi action game that has been rebooted from its original state from the 90s, and recently - but it now has an added psychological twist. The developers tease: "You are Morgan Yu, the subject of morally dubious experiments designed to improve the human race. You awaken aboard the Talos 1 in the year 2032 and must uncover the secrets hiding in the depths of the space station while being hunted by the mysterious alien force that has taken over. You'll have to rely on the tools you find on the station - along with your wits, weapons and mind-bending abilities - to combat the growing threat and, hopefully, survive".

E3 2016 - Microsoft today announced the Play Anywhere initiative that brings cross-buy to Windows 10 PCs and Xbox One consoles.

When a game is marked with a "Play Anywhere" sticker, gamers can buy one version of the game and play it both on Windows 10 PCs and Xbox One systems. Gears of War 4 will be one of the first games launched under the initiative, with full cross-buy and cross-play support across the two systems.

We know that Microsoft would tighten its focus on cross-platform gaming with Project Helix so this isn't really a surprise. I'm thinking that most of the high-profile exclusives will be marked with Play Anywhere, meaning the Xbox brand is now a service that bridges both PC and console. Microsoft also unveiled the new Xbox One S, the fabled Xbox One Mini console that's 40% smaller than traditional Xboxs, sports up to a 2TB HDD, full 4K UHD video playback, and a new Xbox One controller--all for $299.

UPDATE: As predicted the $299 Xbox One S is just the 500GB model, and the 1TB Xbox One S is $349 with the 2TB Xbox One S priced at $399.

E3 2016 - Microsoft today announced the Xbox One S, a slimmer console with 4K video playback and HDR support.

The Xbox One S is priced at $299 and releases this August, Xbox division head Phil Spencer revealed at Microsoft's E3 event. The Xbox One S is 40% smaller than the current Xbox One console, and features up to 2TB HDD storage, an integrated internal power supply, and most notably, 4K UHD video playback. The Xbox One S also supports HDR for improve visuals.

E3 2016 - Warhammer 40K: Dawn of War III has been pushed at E3 2016 by developer Relic Entertainment, with official gameplay footage debuted at the show. Check it out below.

Relic Entertainment is buildinf up some hype here, especially when the franchise was previously with THQ and when the company closed down, fans of the Warhammer 40K series were left wondering what was going to happen with the franchise. Sega later purchased the rights to the franchise, and teamed with Relic Entertainment on the new game. There's no release date on the game just yet, but we know it's coming in 2017.

E3 2016 - Microsoft is set to kick off its E3 2016 livestream in just minutes now, and will likely show off the future of the Xbox brand.

Expect to see the new Xbox One S (Xbox Mini) at the event, along with the two new Xbox streaming sticks. We'll also see a ton of new Xbox and Windows 10 PC games like Dead Rising 4, Crackdown 3 and Halo Wars 2. We could even see some Xbox Scorpio teases!

E3 2016 - Bethesda announced VR support for DOOM and Fallout 4 earlier today on the HTC Vive, with the company now detailing future DOOM plans. DOOM's first 'premium' DLC will be released next month, dubbed 'Onto the Evil'. Onto the Evil will include:

id Software has also said that there will also be free updates to DOOM's multiplayer mode, with two new modes arriving next month. The first, is 'Exodus' that is a one-flag capture the flag (CTF) mode that was described as a "uniquely DOOM experience". The second piece of the DLC puzzle is 'Sector' which is a multizone capture-and-hold mode. There will also be three additional free-for-all modes, which will include the classic mode, which will be released in the summer. Bethesda adds: "all of these new modes will be playable on any existing or future maps, and will be free for all players".

Additionally, there'll be a free demo of DOOM available later this week, and for a limited time - during the E3 week. The demo of DOOM will be available for the PC, Xbox One and PS4 this week, featuring the first level of the game. Bethesda exec Marty Stratton explains: "With just a month past since our launch, we hope you've only scratched the surface of fun we packed into the game. And we can't wait to give you even more ways to compete, create, play and fight like hell".

E3 2016 - Battlefield 1 has been revealed, and it looks like DICE has pulled off one of the most exciting Battlefield games yet with its WW1 setting, and the tweak to gameplay with dynamic weather, and added destruction of the environment. It's like a super-powered Battlefield, based in World War 1. If you haven't seen the official gameplayer trailer, check it out below:

Now that Battlefield 1 has had its huge showing, some new information is being discovered. Reddit user 'Euden' was at the EA Play London event, where he got some hands-on time with Battlefield 1. Starting with Euden saying: "Best thing: the weather system and how it changes up the gameplay, the guns felt great and it felt really authentic. Best looking battlefield to date! My best moment was the map turning foggy, suddenly the control point I had taken in the sun became gloomy with troops hiding in the houses defending it, It truely felt like something out of a movie with allies running in bayonetting people. It was crazy".

The destruction is something I was hoping would be amplified, as this is a next-gen Battlefield title. It looks like DICE has made my dreams come true, with Euden elaborating on the destruction in Battlefield 1: "There was quite a lot of destruction in the game with houses coming down on people , the destruction is great, you can create craters with tanks and hide in them which is cool also".

E3 2016 - Rocksteady's Arkham series of Batman games have been huge hits, except for the last one which was totally FUBAR on the PC - but now we're expecting something truly new with Batman - The Telltale Series, an episodic Batman game from Telltale Games.

The studio has teased the first screenshots of the game, its cast, and its launch strategy. Batman - The Telltale Series will spin comic book-inspired artwork with the moodiness of modern Batman stories. We have some voice acting talent stepping up to the microphone for Batman - The Telltale series, with Troy Baker voicing Batman, Erin Yvette (who is a regular in Telltale's games) and Richard McGonagle (who voices Sully in the Uncharted series).

Batman - The Telltale Series will be a five-episode series which will drop on consoles, PC and Mac in the summer with the episodes to be downloaded as they drop - or you can pick up the Season Pass Disc at retail which will unlock the entire five-episode first series.

E3 2016 - Bethesda has a special surprise for PC gamers who already own Skyrim and all of its DLC or the Legendary Edition on PC.

No one likes having to re-buy games you already own. In this cycle of current-gen consoles, we've seen so many remasters...and it gets tiring. Now with the new Skyrim Special Edition remaster for PS4 and Xbox One, we get yet another remaster of a game that pretty much every gamer has in their library. In order to ease the annoyance, Bethesda is giving a free copy of the Skyrim remaster to PC gamers who already own the legendary edition or the base game and all its DLC.

This doesn't exactly help console owners though--especially those faithful that rushed out to buy the yesteryear RPG on Xbox 360. We assuredly won't see similar option for console players, but I'm betting not--Bethesda wants to make its money, after all, and the only way to do that is to coup console sales. If you don't happen to own Skyrim and all of its DLC, you have the perfect opportunity with the Steam Summer Sale kicks off on June 24.

E3 2016 - Bethesda has officially confirmed the Skyrim: Special Edition remaster on PS4 and Xbox One with full mod support.

Soon console gamers will get an upgraded port of Skyrim with the amazing ability to utilize mods--and as we all know, Skyrim with mods is just absolutely incredible. New graphical upgrades include volumetric godrays, amazing new art renders and textures, dramatically improved draw distance and dynamic depth of field, screen-space reflections, and new snow shaders.

As a huge fan of Skyrim and its massive assortment of mods, I can't wait until this remaster hits. Sure it's no fun having to re-buy games we already know, but mods add a completely new dimension to the game. It's like having access to an infinite amount of DLC.

E3 2016 - Bethesda officially announced Quake Champions, a new PC-exclusive arena shooter.

Quake Champions is PVP-only and doesn't have a campaign, and is a fully-fledged ultra-fast arena-shooter that taps the original's frenetic gameplay. "Quake Champions is a new arena-style first-person shooter aimed at hardcore fans and new gamers alike. The game gives you challenge and rush you'd expect from id games, and be assured that Quake Champions will be fast with graphics 120Hz unlocked frame rates," id Software said.

We knew that a new Quake was on its way, and while it's a bit disappointing we aren't getting a huge campaign with dark overtones and macabre medieval chaos, this is still great news for Quake fans.

E3 2016 - Dead Rising was some of the best fun I've had on the Xbox, and now we're being teased about Dead Rising 4, with leaked screenshots appearing online ahead of the Microsoft E3 2016 press conference. Some details were revealed a couple of weeks ago now, but these new screenshots definitely look deliciously good.

There are some pretty crazy new weapons and skills in Dead Rising 4 which should be pretty awesome to use in-person, with Frank West looking to make an appearance once again. The town in Dead Rising 4 is covered in snow and decorated with Christmas lights, which will provide a new atmosphere to enjoy. West is wearing a glowing, super-powered suit in one shot, where he literally tears a zombie in half - hell, yes.

We should expect Dead Rising 4 on the Xbox One and on the PC through Windows 10, let's just hope it's not another crappy Windows 10 port.

E3 2016 - On the heels of EA's major E3 press conference, the publisher outlines the future of its massive Star Wars games library in a neat timeline.

Now that EA wants to "release a new Star Wars game every year until 2020," all of EA's first-party studios are working on future Star Wars games: Motive, DICE, Visceral Games, Respawn, BioWare, Capital Games and Criterion are all working alongside LucasFilm to bring amazing Star Wars stories to the gaming world. Each future game is set in unique timelines and are all powered by DICE's Frostbite engine. With such a dream team medley of developers we know something special is cooking up, and EA didn't reveal exact details, but we did get a nice little tease of what each studio plans to offer.

We also got our first gameplay footage of Visceral's new action-based Star Wars adventure due out in 2018, which is set in a unique timeline and spins a"groundbreaking" narrative. Titanfall developer Respawn also promised that its third-person action-adventure game will "deliver the Star Wars awe like you've never seen before" Check below for a loose timeline of EA's future games.

E3 2016 - In less than an hour Bethesda's E3 presser kicks off, and we're expecting some pretty big reveals and teases from the studio this time around.

As we highlighted in our giant E3 2016 compendium guide, we expect to see some interesting things at Bethesda's press conference. Wolfenstein 2, Prey 2 and The Evil Within 2 have been rumored, as well as the Skyrim Definitive Edition remaster on PS4 and Xbox One with full mod support.

E3 2016 - Dead Space devs at Visceral Games have been working on a new Star Wars adventure for some time now, and we finally get a look at the fruits of their labor.

Based on the newly revealed footage, Visceral's new Star Wars game may be told through the eyes of an Imperial agent. The clip shows us a brief look at what appears to be an Empire-occupied Tattooine, with Galactic Empire flags emblazoned upon the sandwalls and a huge Star Destroyer looming in the distance. A few Tie fighters fly overhead, fully signifying this is enemy-controlled territory.

But what if you're a Rebel spy posing as an Imperial agent, or maybe an outlaw? The new concept art (see below) gives a very outlaw bounty-hunter type of feel, so I'm thinking you're a hired gun that gets thrown into an interstellar battle between the Rebel Alliance and Galactic Empire. We didn't get any hint of Jedi or Sith powers, so this could definitely be one of those unique Star Wars avenues for sure.

E3 2016 - The open beta for Halo Wars 2 might start on Monday, but the full game has reportedly been delayed until February 21, 2017 - a few months away from its scheduled Q4 2016 release window.

The news is coming from NeoGAF user Gwyn, who first leaked the Dead Rising 4 screenshots, and got a glimpse at the Halo Wars 2 trailer before Microsoft removed the assets from the website. As for Halo Wars 2, there will be a Season Pass on offer, with multiple editions of the game to be made available. We can expect the Deluxe version of Halo Wars 2 to cost around $80, and it should include the Season Pass.

E3 2016 - It's all-out WW1 chaos in Battlefield 1's first-ever 64-player multiplayer sessions, showing what to expect when the game hits in October.

Like previous Battlefield games before it, DICE's new WW1-themed Battlefield 1 will sport absolutely crazy 64-player combat. In the 32-on-32 player match we'll see epic Great War battles re-created in real-time, with hulking tanks smashing over infantry and behemoth zeppelins getting blown to smithereens by rocket launchers. This time around DICE has added in even more immersion to the fray with dynamic weather sequences and even more destructible environments, plus we also have a huge arsenal of authentic weapons, gadgets, biological warfare, and much, more more.

E3 2016 - DICE showed off a brand new explosive gameplay trailer for Battlefield 1 at E3, delivering even more authentic Great War carnage with aerial combat, insane firefights, and dynamic weather that ensures no battle is ever the same.

The latest Battlefield 1 footage showcases the game's incredibly dynamic warscapes, with ultra-destructible environments and brutal explosions there's this distinct feeling of danger at every turn. What's more is the trailer shows everything without HUDs, giving an increasingly loose feel that mirrors the technics of the times--no auto-aim or aim-assist will be included in this game. Just your wits, luck, and skill as you take on some of the most epic battles in World War I history. Oh, you'll even be able to reign down explosive chaos in the skies atop a zeppelin.

"In Battlefield 1, we engage in some of the biggest battles you've ever seen, with multiplayer matches with up to 64 players. Through the power of Frostbite, intuitive destruction, dynamic weather, and a variety of weapons makes this the most immersive Battlefield game ever. In Battlefield 1, destruction is more intuitive than ever, this creates unlimited gameplay possibilities to impact the world around you," said DICE's Patrick Bach.

E3 2016 - BioWare took the stage to showcase one of the most anticipated games in EA's upcoming lineup, but instead of getting a massive gameplay trailer, we only got a small snippet of footage.

Honestly, I expected more from EA's Mass Effect: Andromeda footage. EA has talked more about its eSports focus than it has one of its most hyped future games, and we didn't even get an official release date for the sci-fi RPG. BioWare's Aaron Flynn did talk the game up, of course, promising that Mass Effect: Andromeda will leverage DICE's Frostbite engine to deliver unprecedented freedom and visuals. He also said something that gave me shivers: in this game, you're the alien.

"In Mass Effect; Andromeda, you are part of an ambitious expedition in the Milky Way Galaxy to help humanity find a new home. You travel millions of light years across the galaxy...to wake up. So what now? Everything is new. You encounter new species, new technologies. You have to be among the most courageous to make this journey; because in this galaxy, you're the alien. How far will we go? That question is also at the heart of Mass Effect: Andromeda," BioWare's Aaron Flynn said on stage.

E3 2016 - Respawn just showed off the latest Titanfall 2 footage at their E3 press conference, revealing key details about the upcoming game like singleplayer and multiplayer, and an upcoming "stress test" beta.

The first-ever Titanfall 2 campaign footage is now live, showing gamers a glimpse of what to expect from the upcoming FPS. Repsawn's Vince Zampella affirms that the campaign will be a more intimate experience between pilot and Titan, focusing on the dynamic bond between man and machine. Zampella also confirmed six new titans with "dynamic new abilities", affirming that Titanfall 2 will have "everything you asked for" in the sequel.

We also got a small glimpse of the new grappling hook--honestly I expected Respawn to sell this much more than it did. A "multiplayer stress test" will be held on PC, PS4 and Xbox One, so jump over the official Titanfall website to sign up.
