Elon Musk recently suggested that the deal to purchase Twitter has temporarily been suspended after an investigation has been launched into the number of fake accounts.

On Friday, SpaceX and Tesla CEO Elon Musk announced that his deal to acquire the world's second largest social media company, Twitter has been temporarily put on hold as he attempts to find out if Twitter is underreporting the number of fake accounts on its platform. Suppose Twitter is found to have underreported its number of fake accounts, which its internal estimates have put at under 5% of total Twitter accounts. In that case, the $44 billion price tag may be put into question, and Musk may get a substantial discount.

While most people are interested to find out the true number of spam, fake, or duplicate accounts on Twitter, the process of how to land on an accurate number is what is being discussed after Musk suggested taking a 100 random Twitter accounts, find the number of spam accounts out of those 100 accounts and use that percentage to represent the entire Twitter userbase. This methodology was met with criticism from Facebook co-founder Dustin Moskovitz who replied to Musk's suggestion by saying the sample size is too small and would yield errors.

Intel's upcoming Arctic Sound-M data center GPU has been spotted in the flesh by ServeThe Home, packing the new DG2 GPU -- the same GPU that will eventually find its way into the Intel Arc A-series GPUs, hopefully, maybe, later this year.

Intel will have two models of its Arctic Sound-M GPUs with 150W and 75W power, with the Arctic Sound-M in 150W form packing a single GPU, the Arctic Sound-M in dual-GPU form using 75W. The dual-GPU model has 75W TDP and is a smaller half-height, low-profile form factor design.

The new GPU photos that STH snapped are from the Intel Vision conference for developers, investors, and media. In what feels like something ripped out of the future -- or maybe out of the multiverse -- Israel's Finance Ministry and the Israel Innovation Authority (IIA) announced they will be testing a new project: an artificial intelligence (AI) floating (yes, floating) system that would generate electricity by tracking the sun.

The new AI-powered floating system is the work of a collaboration between Israeli company Xfloat, which made the system, and Mekorot national water company. The AI system will be floating above the reservoir water, tracking the sun and moving around for the absolute optimal results (power from the sun, onto its solar panels).

Xfloat has designed the system based on machine learning capabilities, sucking in that previous data over time, optimizing its performance continuously. Israel's Finance Ministry and the Israel Innovation Authority (IIA) said that the system has a high power generation capacity and can handle environmental changes and extreme weather.

The rumor mill for next-gen GPUs runs harder than ever before in silicon history, with fresh rumors on NVIDIA's upcoming flagship GeForce RTX 4090 graphics card.

The new GeForce RTX 4090 with an Ada Lovelace-based AD102-300 GPU rocking 16128 CUDA cores, 24GB of GDDR6X memory at 24Gbps, and a 450W TDP will reportedly pack twice the performance of the GeForce RTX 3090 graphics card.

This is according to leaker "kopite7kimi" on Twitter, who said: "OK, let's do a new summary. RTX 4090, AD102-300, 16128FP32, 21Gbps 24G GDDR6X, 450W, ~2x3090. I am disappointed with RDNA3. That's all". This lower 450W power news flies in the face of previous 600W power claims... as the RTX 4090 (450W) is now rumored to be twice as fast as the RTX 3090 (350W). That's a huge achievement for only 100W increase in TDP.

The Great Sphinx has had the world's eyes on it over the last couple of days, as rumors and speculation suggested that the Sphinx was spotted with its eyes CLOSED. This might not seem like much, but it is very, very significant.

The Switch's strong shipments have pushed Nintendo's total lifetime hardware sales to new levels.

Nintendo's latest financial report tallies up its current market performance, showing consistent hardware and software sales that reflect ongoing demand. The Switch recently broke 107.65 million shipments (sell-In) across the globe, with FY22 volume hindered by an ongoing chip shortage.

Today Sony announced over 100 games coming to its new PlayStation Plus service reboot, but a vast majority of the catalog is still unknown.

The recent PS Plus announcement only includes 119 games across multiple PlayStation platforms. That's a far cry (pun intended) from the 740 games that Sony promised when the service was revealed. That means some 621 games, or 84% of the total advertised catalog, are still unknown.

A YouTuber has been caught in the middle of a largescale market wipeout where billions of dollars were lost, leaving many investors hamstrung.

YouTuber Olajide Olayinka Williams "JJ" Olatunji, or KSI, took to his "KSICrypto" Twitter account to reveal his investment in the cryptocurrency project LUNA. The YouTuber showcased a $2.8 million investment into Terra Luna, which last week began experiencing large amounts of sell-offs, causing the market cap of one of the top 10 cryptocurrencies in the world to fall from $40 billion in April to $1.6 billion as of May 16.

The value of LUNA dropped dramatically, one coin was worth nearly $100 on May 1, and on May 16, its worth 0.00023c. In the span of 24 hours, 99% of the value of LUNA was wiped away, causing many individuals, such as KSI, to be caught up in the bloodbath of red candles. Many individuals that were either holding LUNA before the crash, or decided to purchase it while it was crashing and weren't able to sell before it was too late have taken to Twitter and other social platforms to voice their losses.

Elon Musk, the soon-to-be-owner of Twitter, has taken to his personal Twitter account to criticize the social media platforms algorithm.

The SpaceX and Tesla CEO wrote on May 15 that it's very important that Twitter users "fix your Twitter feed". Musk wrote that users are "being manipulated by the algorithm" in ways that the users are unaware of and that users will be able to notice the difference when switching between "Latest tweets" and Home Tweets.

Furthermore, Musk clarified that he isn't suggesting there is "malice in the algorithm", but rather how, under Home Tweets, the algorithm will attempt to show the user what they want to read, which "inadvertently manipulate/amplify your viewpoints without you realizing this is happening." Musk goes on to write that there are bugs in Twitter's code, and to solve these problems around trusting the algorithm, it needs to be made "open source".

Russia's space program recently launched the Angara-1 rocket carrying a "classified payload" to lower-Earth orbit.

According to space journalist Anatoly Zak who recently took to Twitter to announce that the Angara-1 rocket that was launched in April is carrying a "classified payload" that appears to be inactive, resulting in it eventually falling back down to Earth. According to Russian Space Web, on April 22, Russian authorities released several warnings to both air and sea traffic controllers that informed them there was to be a launch near the end of April.

The launch vehicle lifted off on April 29, and according to the publication, the initial launch went according to plan, but the classified military satellite it was carrying never performed any maneuvers to maintain its position in Earth's orbit. Notably, Russian officials inscribed the letter "Z" on the Angara rocket's payload fairing. The "Z" letter is commonly associated with showing support for Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Furthermore, "Z" has been spotted drawn on several Russian vehicles being used in the invasion.
