Daxbot continues to promote the Dax delivery robot, an artificial intelligence-driven robot that follows GPS towards its destination. The market for delivery robots is continually expanding, with restaurants teaming up with tech developers interested in finding new solutions to reach our doorstep.

The Dax robot stands three feet high and is two feet wide and weighs in at a hefty 120 pounds. Storage capacity includes the ability to carry two medium pizzas with drinks. Dax has a 2.5-mile delivery range but has completed a 5K (3.1-miles), so can get in a little extra distance when necessary.

The robot travels at a respectable travel speed of four miles per hour, though could travel upwards of 20 mph without a limiter in place. Built-in cameras and sensors help Dax avoid obstacles and cross streets safely, though can learn and build on the customized DaxOS.

Now that Intel's new Arc A770 and Arc A750 graphics cards have been sent to (cherry-picked) reviewers, UL Benchmarks have unleashed a new 3DMark feature test.

The new 3DMark feature test will benchmark Intel's new XeSS, its new AI-boosted upscaling technology that works similar to AMD FSR (FidelityFX Super Resolution) and NVIDIA DLSS (Deep Learning Super Sampling). The company provides a nifty 3DMark Intel XeSS frame inspector tool, something that lets you check out the comparison between image quality in an awesome interactive side-by-side comparison between native rendering, and Intel XeSS AI-boosted rendering.

3DMark's new XeSS feature test is based on the scene from the 3DMark Port Royal benchmark, which runs two times to show the effect of XeSS on both performance, and image quality. The first run of the XeSS feature test will measure your baseline performance, where it will render the scene with temporal anti-aliasing (TAA) at the native display output resolution.

NVIDIA announced its next-gen GeForce RTX 4090 graphics card not too long ago now, with the company saying that there would be a "starting price" of $1599... and ZOTAC is sticking to that.

ZOTAC's upcoming fleet of custom GeForce RTX 4090 graphics cards will be priced from $1599 through to $1699, whereas the new ZOTAC GAMING GeForce RTX 4090 Trinity graphics card will cost $1599, the overclocked model -- the ZOTAC GAMING GeForce RTX 4090 Trinity OC -- will cost $1649.

The new flagship ZOTAC GAMING GeForce RTX 4090 AMP Extreme AIRO will cost $1699 -- a full Benjamin more than the RTX 4090 Trinity non-OC card -- with GPU boost clocks of up to 2580MHz (more with OC) compared to 2535MHz and 2520MHz on the RTX 4090 Trinity OC and RTX 4090 Trinity, respectively.

Intel's new Arc A770 and Arc A750 graphics cards have now reached cherry-picked reviewers, but there's one custom Arc A770 graphics card that has my attention: Acer's interesting new Predator Arc A770 BiFrost graphics card.

The new Acer Predator Arc A770 BiFrost graphics card has been picked up, and reviewed by Israeli tech site Plonter.info, with a full review you can check out here. Plonter has a few awesome things here: they're the first media outlet to review the Acer Predator Arc A770 BiFrost graphics card, as well as the first outlet to review a custom Arc graphics card. Congrats, guys!

Acer has built a very interesting card here, with a full custom design with a dual-fan cooler (turbine extract + axial throughput) while it packs the higher chunk of 16GB GDDR6 memory, versus 8GB GDDR6 memory that will come on some custom Arc A770 graphics cards. Intel's own in-house Arc A770 Limited Edition graphics card has 16GB GDDR6, but AIB partners can choose between 8GB and 16GB GDDR6 on their custom Arc A770 designs.

Intel reached out to me a few weeks ago now asking for my address so they could send me Arc A770 and Arc A750 graphics cards, but after covering Arc negatively -- not just opinion pieces, but sourcing leaks and rumors -- got me put on the back burner. Don't worry, Intel promises that I might get a card, one day.

Well, after the tiniest graphics card sampling round in my career, and now Intel's new Arc A770 and Arc A750 graphics cards are in the hands of... well... people who obviously don't push Intel back too much. I think 95% or more of the reviewers who were cherry-picked, were even alive when Intel launched the i740 on AGP... but I digress.

Intel's new Arc Alchemist GPU architecture was initially unveiled close to FOUR YEARS ago back in January 2019, when Intel posted an inspirational video on Twitter that featured ex-RTG boss and now AXG boss Raja Koduri, as well as former Intel CEO Bob Swan. In the video, Intel was recruiting staff, while Raja was saying that Intel was effectively starting from zero in discrete graphics.

Brazil becomes the second worldwide market to approve Microsoft's Activision-Blizzard merger.

Today Brazil's Administrative Council for Economic Defense (CADE) issued an approval for Microsoft's $68.7 billion buyout of Activision-Blizzard. Brazil is the second worldwide regulator to approve the deal. Saudi Arabia's General Authority for Competition issued a no objection certification in late August.

CADE's filing says the regulatory body "approves the merger without restrictions." This is following weeks of testimonials, data-sifting, and direct oppositions from Sony legal counsel. In August, Sony representation said that "no rival can overtake Call of Duty," arguing that exclusivity of the $30 billion franchise could impact Sony's revenues and harm competition.

The new Witcher games and Cyberpunk 2077 sequel will get multiplayer in some fashion, but CD Projekt RED says singleplayer comes first.

Back in 2016, we reported that Cyberpunk 2077 would have multiplayer. Years later, CD Projekt confirmed they were working on a standalone AAA Cyberpunk game while also announcing The Witcher would get multiplayer as well. While official details are light, CD Projekt continues discussing their plans to bring online multiplayer integration into their biggest games.

In a recent company strategy meeting, CD Projekt management says that multiplayer will be a core focus of the company's efforts moving forward. Multiplayer will be designed to "enhance the singleplayer experience," and will be included in Project Sirius, a new Witcher game in development at The Molasses Flood.

Korean automaker Hyundai understands range anxiety is a significant concern for potential electric vehicle buyers, worried they will need to stop and recharge too frequently to make a purchase worth it. The IONIQ 6 electrified streamliner will have an all-electric range of 381 miles with an energy consumption of 13.9 kWh per 60 miles.

Hyundai has ambitious goals in the EV market and delivering a strong EV range for vehicles is an important step to winning over possible shoppers. The Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP) is a Hyundai-dedicated architecture and allows the IONIQ 6 to become a portable power bank on wheels - customers can effectively use the car as a mobile workstation if needed.

As noted by Byung Hoon Min, head of total vehicle performance development center at Hyundai: "We put every effort into designing the most efficient car in the EV segment. Our focus on improving aerodynamics helped to achieve one of the longest all-electric range vehicles available, which will reduce customers' EV range anxiety and help grow the segment."

Hennessey Performance has taken the factory Ford Bronco Raptor and heavily modified it to create the all-new VelociRaptor 500 Bronco. Admittedly not something required to do for a new vehicle, though Hennessey prides itself on adjusting and allowing a vehicle to really stand out on its own.

The improved Ford Bronco now has 20 percent more output, including 500 horsepower and 550 lb-ft of torque total. The stock Bronco Raptor delivers 418 hp and 440 lb-ft of torque, so the modifications aren't necessarily needed - but Hennessey just elevates every vehicle that the company touches.

Custom VelociRaptor bumpers are installed, new 10-spoke alloy wheels, custom VelociRaptor 500 Bronco badging, and Hennessey Heritage graphics are added. For the interior, embroidered head restraints and all-weather floor mats are included, along with a numbered plaque.

Sony's new PlayStation Stars loyalty program leaves out critical information on how to best earn points, but gamers have discovered specific point ratios.

At first glance the PlayStation Stars program doesn't look great. The landing page shows players will get 50 points for completing a campaign to buy specific games. Some of these games, like NBA 2K23, are $69.99. Others, like inscription are $19.99. Sony says that PlayStation Plus subscribers will automatically earn PS Stars points for purchases made on the PS Store, but it doesn't tell you how much.

Gamers have discovered the ratio. Sony will reward 10 PS Stars points for every $1 that PlayStation Plus subscribers spend on games. So if you by NBA 2K 23 for $74 after tax, you'll earn 740 points plus the 50 points from completing the campaign objective.

Microsoft has assuaged consumers, investors, and gamers with claims that it will still be the gaming underdog after the $68.7 billion Activision-Blizzard merger, but Xbox is actually beating one of its major competitors right now.

In a new blog post discussing the merits of the Activision-Blizzard merger, Microsoft assures readers that it will remain number 3 in the pecking order behind Sony and Nintendo. "Greater competition in traditional gaming, where Sony and Nintendo will remain the biggest," Microsoft said.

This is an interesting claim and it's certainly not all-encompassing (for example, PlayStation makes most of its money from microtransactions, and that's not the more traditional hardware-software market). In fact, Xbox is actually beating Nintendo right now in revenues. Weaker yen has carved out sizable chunks of converted earnings from all Japanese games companies and Nintendo is no different.

SpaceX and Tesla CEO Elon Musk found himself in the middle of online controversy after posting what he believes to be a good peace deal between Russia and Ukraine.

Elon Musk fired off a series of Tweets on October 4 that proposed a peace deal be drawn up between Russia and Ukraine, and while that initially sounds like an idea most people can get behind, the conditions of the peace deal are what caused the division. Musk proposed that elections should be redone in states annexed by Russia, recognize that Crimea is part of Russia, that the water supply of Crimea should be given to Russia under the assurance it remains stable, and that Ukraine should stay neutral.

These conditions sparked major controversy as Musk fans, and Ukrainian officials rallied against the Tesla CEO, with some Ukrainian officials condemning Musk's opinion and even publicly asking if Musk's Twitter account had been hacked by Russians. Musk's tweets even caught the attention of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, who took to Twitter to ask Musk which he liked more - Ukraine or Russia. Musk replied that he still very much supports Ukraine.

Astronomers have used a telescope in Chile to capture an incredible image that showcases a debris trail caused by NASA's Double Asteroid Redirection Test (DART).

A team of astronomers used the Southern Astrophysical Research (SOAR) Telescope in Chile to observe the asteroid Dimorphos and the impact debris caused by the DART spacecraft, which collided with the asteroid's surface at the end of September. From millions of miles away, astronomers were able to observe a debris trail partly caused by DART, which is stretching 6,000 miles and is expected to continue growing.

According to researchers, NASA's kamikazeing spacecraft caused the initial debris, and pressure from solar radiation is causing it to accelerate away from the asteroid, resulting in the long debris trail seen above. As previously mentioned, astronomers expect the trail to continue stretching and disperse even more, eventually becoming so thin that it won't be detectable as the dust will be like any other dust floating around the solar system.

If you already thought there were quite a lot of advertisements on your Instagram feed, prepare yourself for many more, as Instagram's parent company is planning on rolling out more.

In response to Meta's revenue declining, per its quarterly financial report, Instagram's parent company is looking to bolster those numbers back up, and one way of doing that is more advertisements on its platforms. In a new update posted to Meta's website, the company outlines it will be implementing a range of new updates that will assist in the advertising of products across its platforms, and one of those updates is augmented reality ads that will appear in both the Feed and Stories on Instagram.

Meta writes that advertisers will be able to test Augmented Reality (AR) ads in an open beta where brands can encourage users to interact with an effect through their surroundings. An example of this would be a user testing what furniture looks like in their home via AR, or, according to Meta, "test driving a car".

SpaceX and Tesla CEO Elon Musk may soon be the owner of the world's second-largest social media platform - Twitter.

In a seemingly flip-flopping turn of events, Elon Musk has decided he once again wants to acquire Twitter after going through a grueling back and forth with the company over Musk's claims that Twitter didn't accurately reveal the true number of bot accounts on the platform.

In a new letter filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), Musk's legal team indicated that they will go forward with the acquisition at the originally agreed-upon price of $54.20 a share, or $44 billion - if the Delaware Chancery Court will "adjourn the trial and all other proceedings related" to the ongoing lawsuit. Twitter responded to the recent turn of events, writing that the intention of the Company is to close the transaction at the initially agreed-upon price.

In a seemingly U-turn of events, Twitter has agreed to another offer from Elon Musk to purchase the entire company.

The strange turn of events comes after lawsuits were filed following Musk's attempt at pulling out of the original deal where he cited the company didn't accurately reveal the number of bot accounts on the platform, which impacts its total value.

Musk's attempt to withdraw from the deal was met with lawsuits from Twitter that pushed for him to carry out the acquisition. Countersuits were filed against Twitter, and both sides' legal teams began to gather evidence to support their case, with the trial date being set for later this month in the Delaware Chancery Court. However, all of that seems to have been completely thrown out the window as Musk has confirmed he now wants to purchase Twitter at the price he initially offered back in April this year - $44 billion.

There is no argument that autonomous vehicles are hitting the road in higher volume, though it brings up safety issues related to both drivers and pedestrians. To improve pedestrian safety, installing robotic eyes on autonomous vehicles may improve safety for people out on the street, according to research from the University of Tokyo.

Once properly programmed, the robotic eyes either look at a pedestrian or look away, so each person on the street is aware of where the vehicle is effectively looking. Even with autonomous technology advancing, the interaction between self-driving cars and the environment around them - not including other vehicles on the roadway - is something that must be looked at more closely.

If everyone in a self-driving vehicle is not paying direct attention to the road around them, pedestrians have even less to gauge whether a vehicle is aware of their presence. As part of testing, researchers had two scenarios with the eyes and two without. The test vehicle either noticed the pedestrian and was going to keep driving or would stop. With the eyes, they were either actively engaged with the pedestrian or looking somewhere else.

Pizza Hut Canada and Serve Robotics have recently teamed up to test a service that lets customers receive their mobile delivery orders with small robots.

Customers need to use the Pizza Hut app to place their order and then can track the robot's location - and receive a custom PIN number to retrieve their order from a built-in storage compartment.

During the test run in Vancouver, the delivery bots were only traveling extremely short distances, but could one day travel a few kilometers. The zero-emission robots can navigate their way down sidewalks and safely around pedestrians, though Serve engineers are available to remotely monitor - and control - the robot if there are any problems along the way.

Agricultural giant John Deere is consistently expanding its repertoire of products and offerings, with a strong push to adopt emerging technologies. In the fast-moving digital age, companies that are at the forefront could be left behind - and that's exactly why Deere continues to show interest in software, autonomous technologies, and other solutions relatively new to farming.

The company wants to be able to take care of row crops with fully autonomous machinery by 2030 but understands the pressure to meet that goal is extremely high. Although research continues into fully autonomous solutions, Deere is currently retrofitting existing tractors so they're able to use more precision seeding measures, along with GPS-based self-steering technology.

As noted by Jorge Heraud, VP of automation and autonomy for Deere, per a CNBC report:

Leading into the launch of Arc A-series GPUs on the desktop, Intel AXG boss Raja Koduri sat down with Ryan Shrout and Tom Peterson to talk all things Arc. Koduri talked about building the Arc Alchemist GPU architecture and bringing it to market -- something the company teased nearly FOUR YEARS ago if you can believe it.

Koduri also talked about the issues of working on the Arc GPU architecture during the pandemic, with teams working from home, some in the labs, some debugging, some everywhere. The ex-RTG boss and father of Vega discussed optimizing software for the Arc GPUs, especially APIs like DirectX 11 -- an API that Arc GPUs don't perform well with whatsoever.
