DOTA 2 team kicked from $15 million championship for macros

Motherboard has reported that Valve has disqualified a South American Peruvian DOTA 2 team called Thunder Predator from The International 2018. The removal was under the pre-tense of the player Atun using macros. Atun was using the Razer Synapse software to program mouse keys, allowing him to teleport several character clones at once which is not possible without some kind of manual configuration software.

The team that has been busted has spoken out against the removal and has denied any use of macros but has said that "manual configuration" is used "to be able to have a better use of hardware." Thunder Predator has taken to Facebook to give a full statement on the matter, saying "The player of our squadron 'Atún' has a Razer Synapse mouse, which, like any professional player, has put its own manual configuration to be able to have a better use of Hardware in benefit of its efficient performance in each of the games played with this hero (Meepo)" If you wish to view the full statement visit the Facebook post here.

Rockstar announce GTA Online Nightclub expansion, July debut

Rockstar has taken to their blog to announce the new content update, saying "Thanks to the efforts of one well-known, well-connected and somewhat financially sound impresario the underground dance club scene is about to blow open in July."

Players will be able to enjoy the music from Solomun, Tale Of Us, Dixon and The Black Madonna. While also running your very own Nightclub from the managerial position as a business. This means players will have control over design, setup, staffing, promotion, location and of course money laundering. "Management is honest work, a tidy way to keep income from your more seedy ventures with Disruption Logistics, The Open Road, SecuroServ and Free Trade Shipping Co. looking clean as fresh laundry."

Xbox Scarlet should be 60FPS minimum, super-fast load times

| Jun 25, 2018 9:44 PM CDT

Now that we know a next-gen Xbox is in development, currently known as Project Scarlet, we have no idea about what performance or new features to expect from Microsoft's next-gen Xbox family.

Xbox Scarlet should be 60FPS minimum, super-fast load times

During an interview with Giant Bomb, Xbox boss Phil Spencer said that there is two things that Microsoft wants to focus on with Project Scarlet, the first are frame rates, and the second is loading times. Spencer said: "I think frame rate is an area where consoles can do more. When you look at the balance between CPU and GPU in today's consoles they're a little bit out of whack relative to what's on the PC side".

Spencer isn't a fan of download and loading times on current games, while install times have gone through the roof for some of the new games with massive worlds, 4K resolution and higher resolution textures. There are plenty of the games already on the market, and plenty in development that are driving past 50GB and getting into the 100GB area.

Nintendo discuss Metroid Prime 4/Yoshi/Pokemon progression

IGN has been lucky enough to sit down with Nintendo's Senior Product Marketing Manager, Bill Trinen to discuss some titles that weren't showcased at this years E3 2018. Starting off we have the upcoming Yoshi game for the Nintendo Switch, according to Trinen the title has "actually been making really good progress. They decided they wanted to make some improvements, so they're going to take just a little bit more time on it and that's why we're not showing it this year at the show." Trinen also said that later throughout 2018 we can expect to hear some updates for Yoshi, this will mostly come in around September - December region.

Moving onto Metroid Prime 4 and Pokemon 2019, Trinen has said that instead of re-showing what was revealed at last years E3, Nintendo instead wanted to concerntrate on displaying what was almost finished. Here is what Trinen said when asked about Metroid Prime 4 and Pokemon 2019, "There was other stuff that we probably could have included in E3, but is probably a bit further out, and so we decided to really kind of keep the focus a little bit more on between now and early 2019, which I think you saw some hints of there with a couple of games." He finished up by saying "We'll just show stuff when we're ready to show it and really, right now, the focus is on two big games in the form of Smash and Pokemon [Let's Go Eevee and Let's Go Pikachu]."

Forza Horizon 4 car list leaked, 90GB of pre-load available

Forza Horizon 4 is planned to release later this October and ahead of the games launch a pre-load option has been made available to gamers via the Microsoft Store.

Forza Horizon 4 car list leaked, 90GB of pre-load available

The game appears to be coming in at a whopping 90GB and from this pre-load the full list of cars have been leaked. Players that expect to be able to jump behind the wheel already will be sadly disappointed as access to play the game is not available yet, just the download.

This very early pre-download could make this title subjected to pirates so I wouldn't be surprised if we saw a crack of this game within the coming weeks/months leading up to it's full release. The full-list was leaked on the /r/Forza subreddit which can be found here.

Spider-Man voice actor leaks Dr. Otto Octavius as a villain

| Jun 25, 2018 1:00 AM CDT

A voice actor for the upcoming Spider-Man game from Insomniac Games has leaked that Dr. Otto Octavius will be apart of the upcoming title as a villain.

Spider-Man voice actor leaks Dr. Otto Octavius as a villain

The voice actor named Jai Alex who also voices Rhino in Spider-Man leaked this information in an interview with YouTuber Drift0r. Drift0r was asking Alex about his role in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 as well as the new Spider-Man, Alex accidentally revealed that "everyone's scaled very differently, Doctor Octopus is really tall, Rhino is big...,"

If Dr. Otto Octavius is the last villain to be showcased this would clear up who is the last member of the Sinister Six, as throughout the comics Octavius was the groups leader at one stage or another. Dr. Otto Octavius could also just be another secondary character as well and we could possibly see more villains revealed moving closer to the release date.

Resident Evil 2 remake PC requirements announced

| Jun 22, 2018 9:34 PM CDT

PC specs for the newly announced Resident Evil 2 remake (REmake) have popped up on Steam, and they're not demanding at all.

Resident Evil 2 remake PC requirements announced

One of the best tidbits of this year's E3 2018 was the official Resident Evil 2 remake showcase during Sony's briefing. Powered by Capcom's new higher-end REngine technology used in Resident Evil 7, the remake should look and play great on consoles and PC alike with fluid FPS, although the latter gets a break with hardware requirements.

The PC specs for RE2 Remake are actually quite feasible: minimum requirements include an Intel i5-4460, 8GB of RAM and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 760 whereas the recommended specs are bumped up to an Intel i7-3770, 8GB of RAM, and an GeForce GTX 1060.

Gears of War 5 on PC scales incredibly well, up to 120FPS

| Jun 22, 2018 7:35 PM CDT

The Coalition is making the next Gears of War something special not just for Xbox gamers, where the developer has said it's aiming for 4K 60FPS on the beefed-up Xbox One X, but it'll be magical on the PC, too.

Gears of War 5 on PC scales incredibly well, up to 120FPS

The developer has said that the PC version of Gears of War 5 was "built from the ground up for PC" and that it'll scale incredibly well. The Coalition boss Rod Fergusson explained: "You'll be able to max it to quite high. It's still reasonably early, but we can usually get to 120fps. It's obviously going to matter what hardware you're using to get that-but it'll be able to scale up that high, (if) the hardware can push it".

Gears of War 5 is expected in 2019 for Xbox consoles, and the PC.

Red Dead Redemption 2 may come to PC

| Jun 22, 2018 5:06 PM CDT

Red Dead Redemption 2 may actually come to PC after all...but not at launch.

Red Dead Redemption 2 may come to PC

We've known for a while now that Red Dead Redemption 2 will release first on Xbox One and PlayStation 4 consoles--after all the game was built from scratch for the current generation and aims to squeeze power from the Xbox One X and PS4 Pro--but now a bit of evidence suggests the sequel-that's-a-prequel will come to PC too.

According to a Rockstar employee's LinkedIn bio, who shall remain anonymous in our coverage, mentions they worked on three flavors of Red Dead Redemption 2: "Xbox 1, PS4, and PC". Both Rockstar Games and its parent company Take-Two Interactive have been mum about a PC release date, and the general consensus is that RDR2 will jump to PC a year or two after consoles (similar to GTA V). Nothing has been confirmed thus far, however.

Rare does Sea of Thieves 'roundtable' meeting at E3 2018

Rare has taken the opportunity of E3 to reveal details about upcoming content for players, while also discussing the future of Sea of Thieves.

Rare does Sea of Thieves 'roundtable' meeting at E3 2018

Joe Neate, the Executive Producer and Senior producer Adam Park sat down for 26 minutes to discuss their title, mentioning the Cursed Sails, more development teams and addressing the boredom of being out at sea. Here is what Neate had to say about the Cursed Sails skeleton crews "We're gonna run a kind of time-limited campaign to introduce them with a bit of story, a bit of lore, a bit of reasons to go and engage with them and get rewards and everything. From that point onwards, [skeleton ships] stay in the world as a kind of emergent threat and we do want to get to a place where we can add them into quests."

Sea of Thieves will soon have much bigger development teams according to Neate, "Currently we've got three teams internally but we're actually splitting up a fourth team at the moment so by the start of July there'll be a fourth team working on content updates. So they'll be working on the kind of like end-of-year December [update]."

Gears of War 5 aiming for 4K 60FPS on Xbox One X

| Jun 21, 2018 11:36 PM CDT

Gears of War 5 will be something special for Xbox One X owners, with developer The Coalition saying that they are internally aiming for 4K 60FPS on the Xbox One X.

Gears of War 5 aiming for 4K 60FPS on Xbox One X

During an interview with Wired at E3 2018, The Coalition boss Rod Fergusson talked about internal technical targets for Gears of War 5. Fergusson explained: "Our target is always 60fps, and we believe - with everything we've done, the learning we've taken from Gears 4, and the optimizations we've been able to do beyond that - that's exactly what we're going to be doing, 60fps at 4K. The new technology of this generation has been fantastic".

This is a big change for the Gears of War franchise, as Gears of War 4 ran at 4K 30FPS for the single-player campaign, with 60FPS reserved for multiplayer. The PC version however, is a massive upgrade over the Xbox versions of Gears of War 5.

The new Minecraft Better Together update launched last year that enabled crossplay between Xbox, PC, and mobile platforms. But now there has been an update to the Nintendo Switch version of Minecraft that allows Switch owners into the crossplay ecosystem. What about the PS4? Yeah well, Sony doesn't play well with others.
