Ex-GTA lead's MindsEye gets a release date, free deluxe pass, and a bustling new trailer

MindsEye was first revealed at Sony's February State of Play. Featuring a dystopian sci-fi cityscape and high-octane combat, the game stars protagonist Jacob Diaz, an ex-soldier who attempts to navigate through a world fogged by AI, high-tech experimentation, and military corruption.

The game's initial marketing focused on the darker, psychological aspects of the experience. However, the latest story reveal takes a different direction, opting for a faster-paced tone as it shows off the game's world, characters, and narrative.

InZOI team patches bug that allowed players to run over and kill kids

Ille Smolanko | Gaming | Mar 28, 2025 8:41 PM CDT

Krafton, the team behind inZOI, has come under fire again after it was recently discovered that a bug in the game allowed players to run over children with their cars.

InZOI team patches bug that allowed players to run over and kill kids

Footage of the bug has appeared on YouTube. It showcases a player accidentally driving into a group of children. One of the NPCs is sent flying across the screen in rag-doll-like fashion, and according to players' accounts, it immediately kills NPCs on impact - regardless of their age.

Given that inZOI holds a 'Teen' rating from the ESRB, the vehicular massacre of children certainly poses some obvious qualms, and the developers have been quick to patch it out in a recent update.

Schedule I leaps past Marvel Rivals, continuing its breakthrough run

Ille Smolanko | Gaming | Mar 28, 2025 7:45 PM CDT

Schedule I, the indie-drug dealing sim, has continued its breakout run - continuing to top the charts, and recently, surpassing Marvel Rivals among the most played games on Steam.

Schedule I leaps past Marvel Rivals, continuing its breakthrough run

At the time of writing, the game holds a peak player count of 234,900 players on SteamDB, enough to pass free-to-play Hero shooter Marvel Rivals, which peaked today at 190,000. Schedule I now lingers behind Monster Hunter: Wilds, which has 275,000 players, and continues to hold its #1 spots for "Trending Games", "Popular Releases", and "Hot Releases".

The indie darling is commonly described as a cartoony video-game equivalent of Breaking Bad, exploding in popularity since its March 24 early-access launch. On day one, the game peaked at 116,000 players, with 4,000 'overwhelmingly positive' reviews. Since then, player counts have effectively doubled, while holding its 95% positive score over 16,000 ratings.

High hopes for Intel Battlemage B770, or other beefy 2nd-gen Arc GPU have seemingly been dashed

Darren Allan | Graphics Cards | Mar 28, 2025 2:32 PM CDT

Hopes that Intel may yet release a higher-end Battlemage graphics card - following the success, and positive reception, of the Arc B580 - appear to be fading fast.

High hopes for Intel Battlemage B770, or other beefy 2nd-gen Arc GPU have seemingly been dashed

Wccftech was on the ball enough to catch an update from a well-known leaker on X which poured cold water on the theories that Intel could still be preparing a beefy Battlemage GPU to take on AMD and NVIDIA.

Specifically, this was the Battlemage BMG-G31 GPU, which has been popping up here and there on the rumor mill for a while - plus the success of the B580 (and B570) might've further buoyed hopes that such a move could be coming from Intel.

Thermal Grizzly releases 90-degree WireView Pro tool for measuring and monitoring GPU power

Kosta Andreadis | Graphics Cards | Mar 28, 2025 1:33 AM CDT

We covered Thermal Grizzly's WireView Pro GPU in detail late last year, as it includes internal and external temperature sensors for 12VHPWR 16-pin power connectors. The shift to a new power delivery system and flagship GPUs like the GeForce RTX 4090 and GeForce RTX 5090, which draw up to 450W and 600W on a single cable, led to Thermal Grizzly's developing the device.

An audible alarm not only allows users to monitor a GPU's power draw via the 16-pin power connector but also warns when temperatures reach a certain point to protect the graphics card from damage. Developed in collaboration with Elmor Labs founder and engineer Jon Sandstrom, the new 90-degree WireView Pro GPU offers a different cabled orientation, with the power supply cable router downward for GPUs installed horizontally.

There's also a sensor pin detection system to ensure the power from the power supply is connected correctly. As per the version released last year, an OLED display for real-time monitoring allows users to log and track power usage over time.

Marvel Rivals is fixing RAM consumption in season 2, devs say 'it's a very big problem'

Ille Smolanko | Gaming | Mar 27, 2025 9:02 PM CDT

Marvel Rivals is still the hottest hero shooter on the market with over 170,000 active players on Steam. However, at GDC 2025, the game's director acknowledged that there are still ways to go to minimize stress on mid-to-lower-end systems.

Marvel Rivals is fixing RAM consumption in season 2, devs say 'it's a very big problem'

In a discussion with PC Gamer, Marvel Rivals director Guangyun Chen highlighted that NetEase will add an experimental check box to the game's launcher, allowing players to 'significantly' reduce memory consumption.

The game's system requirements currently recommend a minimum of 16GB RAM. However, it's widely recognized that the Unreal 5-powered title is a memory hog, often consuming over 90% of RAM. According to Chen, it's not a simple fix, but the team will prioritize it as the game pushes towards its season 2 launch in mid-April.

Abxylute has unveiled the One Pro, a new handheld that provides an all-in-one solution for gaming on the go, providing players with four ways to enjoy their games: cloud gaming, remote play, emulation, and, of course, mobile gaming. Thanks to the MediaTek Genio 510, the One Pro is capable of running PS2-level emulation at a smooth 60FPS.

Other specifications for the device include a 7-inch 1920 x 1080p resolution LTPS display capable of a 60Hz refresh rate, which has been paired with 4GB of RAM, 64GB of storage, 2TB of expandable storage, and a 5,200mAh battery. The Abxylute One Pro launches on Kickstarter on March 27, with shipping expected to begin by late May.

'Nintendo Switch 2 Edition' versions of original Switch games confirmed

Kosta Andreadis | Gaming | Mar 27, 2025 8:02 PM CDT

Nintendo's big Switch 2 reveal stream and party is happening next week on April 2, but that hasn't stopped the company from hosting a final old-school Switch Nintendo Direct, which took place earlier today. In addition to a new trailer for Metroid Prime 4, new versions of classic PlayStation games, a new official Nintendo news app, and a Virtual Game Card system that will let you share digital games between systems and family, we also inadvertently got information on how the Switch 2 will hands cross-generation gaming.

'Nintendo Switch 2 Edition' versions of original Switch games confirmed

As spotted by Wario64 on social media, Nintendo's official breakdown of the new Virtual Game Card feature mentions both "Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive games" and "Nintendo Switch 2 Edition games." This implies that games that will get separate releases on both systems, such as Metroid Prime 4, will have two versions hit retail - the Switch edition and the Switch 2 edition.

This is similar to how Sony transitioned from PlayStation 4 to PlayStation 5, where cross-generation games were released in two separate versions covering the old and the new. Microsoft's approach was and is a little more user-friendly, as a single Xbox version of a game covers all compatible hardware.

Nintendo Switch 2 news will be fed straight you with Nintendo's new app

Nintendo has just wrapped up its last Nintendo Direct for the original Switch. At the end of the presentation, the company showcased a new app for Android and iOS devices.

Nintendo Switch 2 news will be fed straight you with Nintendo's new app

Introducing Nintendo Today!, a new free app that provides players with updates from Nintendo tailored to their specific preferences. The new app will require a Nintendo account to access and, according to the announcement, Nintendo will be providing daily news updates on games, announcements, and after the Nintendo Switch 2-focussed Direct on April 2, details about the new console. Additionally, the new app will give players access to animated calendars, event schedules, and offer degrees of customization for homescreens.

The latest rumors about the Nintendo Switch 2 point to the inclusion of a 120Hz LCD screen that features VRR and HDR support, with OLED screens being ruled out due to the increase in cost - at least for the first Nintendo Switch 2. The rumor comes from a leaker who almost hit the nail on the head when it came to leaking the console's GPU performance. Notably, the purported 120Hz refresh rate would be in handheld mode, which, if true, would mean the Nintendo Switch 2 has double the performance of the original Nintendo Switch.

Warner Bros. axes unannounced Hogwarts Legacy expansion

Warner Bros has reportedly canceled the development of its unannounced Hogwarts Legacy DLC following the closure of major gaming studio Monolith Products.

Warner Bros. axes unannounced Hogwarts Legacy expansion

The news comes from Bloomberg's Jason Shreier, who recently penned an article claiming that Warner Bros. Discovery has decided to cancel development of a planned expansion for its successful open-world RPG Hogwarts Legacy. According to the report, the cancellation is part of a major restructuring campaign for the company's video-game unit, which comes after the closure of major development studio Monolith Productions, the creators behind Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor/War games.

The expansion, which hadn't yet been publicly announced, would have implemented new storylines within the game and had a scheduled release date for later this year. However, due to concerns that the expansion didn't offer enough value in terms of content for the price Warner Bros. was intending to sell it, it has now been canned. The cancellation of the Hogwarts Legacy DLC comes at a time when Warner Bros. is attempting to get its gaming division back on course to profitability, with the publisher recently announcing the closure of three major gaming studios, including Monolith, and the cancelation of a Wonder Woman game.

Neowin reports that the service in question is ProtonVPN, which is a weighty name in the security scene, and a trusted brand (with a strict 'no logging' policy, as is expected from any good provider in this arena).

With the VPN being right there in the browser, there's no need for Vivaldi users to install any software, they can just flick a switch and benefit from encryption of their data, and of course online anonymity. Not to mention the other boons associated with a VPN (like being able to access streaming content you otherwise wouldn't be able to view, for example).

What's the opposite of the long arm of the law? The thief in a new game: My Arms Are Longer Now

Darren Allan | Gaming | Mar 27, 2025 11:30 AM CDT

If you were a thief, what would you consider to be a handy superpower? Being invisible, perhaps, that could be very useful - but forget that, what you really need is incredibly long arms (technically, not just a handy power, but also an 'army' one).

What's the opposite of the long arm of the law? The thief in a new game: My Arms Are Longer Now

What do you mean: That's just silly. Well, you're quite right, but a new heist game called 'My Arms Are Longer Now' is going firmly for a comedy angle as you might imagine.

The game casts you in the role of a stupendously long arm (you don't actually see the person attached to it), presented with a whole load of tasks that revolve around stealing stuff and generally causing havoc.

However, Mojang (as noticed by Neowin) just revealed that the pause function is now live, albeit just for the single player mode - multiplayer is not affected (as you might guess).
