PornHub lets everyone know exactly how they consume porn
Just in case you lay awake at night pondering the meaning of life, along with wondering exactly how our global population consume their pornography - look no further because TweakTown has you covered. Don't worry - everything in this article is safe for work.
According to statistics released by PornHub, the United States still sits at #1 in the consumer scale, with the United Kingdom taking up less than half the traffic flow followed by Canada. This ranges across their websites crazy 78.9 billion video views throughout the 12 months of 2014, alongside a crazy 5800 visits every second.
With teens being on the main agenda, the apparently intriguing category of "step mom" has raised up a massive 14 places, now sitting at 4th overall. If data is more your thing, this review shows that over 50 gigabytes per second of bandwidth is needed by their servers, offering up 1.57 million terabytes of data throughout the last calendar year. This is coupled with a total of 18.35 billion total visits and just over 1 million comments - seeing the word "love" being most-used.

Apple maybe considering a stylus for the possible iPad Pro
Apple Insider has leaked information that Apple may be developing a self-branded stylus to be included with the iPad Pro - reports claim that it may be named the iPen or Apple Pen. It's a rumor stacked on a rumor - but it does have some logical merit.
Stylus pens for tablet devices are actually quite common among older (40-year and over) crowds. Although I've never seen a person under 40 use one voluntarily before, my parents and grandparents are often using their third-party stylus devices to play Solitare and browse the web on their iPad 2's.
As with most official Apple products, there's no reason that this technology giant couldn't release a simple stylus, slap a $30 RRP on it and watch it walk itself out the door with massive sales - lets be honest, how much really goes into a stylus pens' design?

Logic wins again - London venues are banning selfie sticks
Leading concert venues in London have started to ban selfie sticks due to issues regarding blocking views of stages and the possibility of injury toward other patrons.
You're not allowed to take in an extendable baton into festivals, concerts or gigs, so it makes perfect sense that selfie sticks have been barred from entry. This news comes amid reports of some injuries taking place thanks to selfie sticks being used in packed crowds, alongside many complaints that any large sized phone, like an iPhone 6 Plus, will easily block the view of any spectators.
O2 arena has joined the banned-wagon (no pun intended), with a spokesman stating in an interview to NME.com that "the O2 do not allow selfie sticks into the arena due to safety considerations. We welcome selfies, but please leave the stick at home", and a representative for Wembley Arena adds, "The sticks might mean you are refused entry to the venue so our advice is don't bring them and stick with the tried and tested use of an arm." This is followed by a spokesman for Brixton Academy adding "selfie sticks are not permitted at Academy Music Group venues. This is in keeping with our existing policy that prohibits the filming and photography during a performance with iPads and other tablet devices and includes any such obstructions for the satisfaction of other customers."

Governor Cuomo promises to provide broadband access for New Yorkers
Governor Andrew M. Cuomo and his administration board have just announced its next (third) part of the "2015 State of the Opportunity" agenda, being a $1 billion broadband internet program that sees public and private resources utilized.
Cuomo has stated that the plan will create a $500 million NY Broadband Program set to use capital funds from bank settlements, offering this sum of money as an incentive to private sector parties in order to expand high-speed internet access is high-needs areas. If ISPs wish to qualify for this funding, they must pledge a 1:1 match in finances, seeing this plan grow from the $500 million figure stated above to a massive $1 billion total. ISPs must also offer up a minimum of 100Mbps internet speed to clients as part of the contract.
There has been no mention of quota limitations as of yet, with Cuomo's staff stating they will prioritize ISPs whom deliver the highest speed at lowest cost. Hopefully this won't see ISPs flock to this agenda only to offer extremely high-speed broadband options with extremely tiny download limits.

HTC to unveil its new One M9 smartphone at MWC 2015 in March
HTC has pretty much just confirmed its upcoming codenamed Hima smartphone, or the One M9, for Mobile World Congress 2015 which kicks off on March 2, but HTC will be hosting its own event on March 1 to debut the new smartphone.
There's no concrete information on it, or whether HTC will be actually unveiling the new One M9, but the tease is that "utopia in progress" should be enough. The picture on the invitation itself is filled with stars, with a single burst of light that highlights the company's invite.
What will the One M9 materialize into? We should see it featuring a high-end Sony-built rear-camera, Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, a QHD display, Android 5.0 Lollipop with Sense 7.0 UI and much more.

32-year-old Taiwanese man dies after gaming for 3 days straight
Doctors have said that a 32-year-old man has died after playing 72 hours of non-stop games at an Internet cafe in Taiwan, without taking a break from his long gaming session.
The man known as Hsieh was found slumped motionless in his chair, reports the Taipei Times. He died last week, but the press only caught wind of the story on Friday. Gamers that surrounded Hsieh in the Internet cafe thought he was just sleeping after his massive gaming binge, but one of the Internet cafe's employees noticed that he wasn't breathing. Once Hsieh reached the hospital, he was pronounced dead.
The cafe attendant told reporters: "Hsieh was a regular customer here and always played for consecutive days. When tired, he would sleep face-down on the table or doze off slumped in his chair. That is why we were not aware of his condition in the beginning". Hunei Police Precinct Chief Wend Chung-neng said: "We advise people to get up and move around after every two hours of computer gaming. More patrols will be conducted to remind residents about the dangers of prolonged sitting and game-playing".

Redesigned PlayStation 4 could use Samsung's new 8Gb GDDR5 chips
We've heard rumors of a redesigned, or slim PlayStation 4 to be announced in the future, but Samsung looks like it has just unveiled what will turn out to be one of the new components of the refreshed PS4 console: high-density 8Gb GDDR5 memory chips.
Samsung's latest GDDR5 VRAM chips are built on the company's 20nm technology, and are the first 8Gb density modules to hit mass production. Not only could these chips find their way into Sony's PS4 console, but it will also be a great next step for gaming laptops, as they can start baking mass amounts of VRAM into them.
Joo Sun Choi, the Executive Vice President of Memory Sales at Samsung electronics arm said: "We expect that our 8Gb GDDR5 will provide original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) with the best graphics memory solution available for game consoles as well as general use notebook PCs". In the company's press release, Samsung said: "Combining only eight of the new 8Gb chips will achieve the same density as the 8 gigabytes (GB) needed in the latest game consoles". So we can see from these two quotes, game consoles seem to be a big part of the announcement of the 8Gb GDDR5 VRAM chips, which is an interesting turn.

'X-Files' star Gillian Anderson campaigning for show's return
The long-running franchise 'The X-Files' might have closed it's doors with the second feature film 'I Want to Believe' in 2008, but speculation is mounting that the show might might be returning to the small screen to feature original stars David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson - the latter sparking a campaign in support.
During an interview with Nerdist.com to promote her upcoming Netflix series 'The Fall', Anderson said she would be "fu**king overjoyed" if the show was returned, and urged fans to tweet at Fox using the hashtag 'X-Files 2015'.
In a separate development, Fox chairman and CEOs Dana Walden and Gary Newman have confirmed they have held talks with 'X-Files' creator Chris Carter, with Newman going so far as to say:

Microsoft offers their Lumia 635 in conjunction with Sprint for $168
Set as the first Lumia product to be part of Sprints offerings, Microsoft are putting up their Lumia 635 smartphone for free on a new two-year contract, or $168 if no contract is something you're interested in. This 1.2GHz Snapdragon 400-powered entry-level phone has been on offer through Boost Mobile and Virgin Mobile since December the 23rd, seeing it finally hit the big-name brand Sprint.
Announced back in April 2014, this phone also contains 512MB of RAM, 8GB of storage, a 4.5-inch display running at 865x480 resolution and 4G LTE capability - obviously providing nothing too crash-hot and ground breaking, however for $168 it's an extremely good entry-level device, spare phone for travel or emergency backup device.
Its saving grace is said to be the LTE support, often not seen for phones in this pay-grade - however I think it's a suitable candidate for your child's first device or any of the other applications as mentioned above.

Facebook hires new designers - updates incoming?
The massive social media network Facebook has just hired Teehan+Lax, claimed as one of Toronto's most successful digital design agencies - seeing three of its top partners joining Facebook as part of a talent acquisition, claimed as not a company buyout.
With John Lax, Geoff Teehan and David Gillis joining the big blue F, their company has in turn decided to shut down. Some previous company employee's are also looking to join Facebook, whereas others are on the search for a new occupation. After the being founded in 2002 and working on large contracts such as Flipboard and some of Facebook's Atlas ad-serving services, these ex-employee's should have no issue moving to somewhere else.
Teehan+Lax's website contained a lengthy closure message, explaining the companies directions, the top three designers' thoughts and feelings and a glimpse into the future. Part of this announcement reads "We are incredibly excited about the future. The things we will be doing at Facebook are amazing new challenges. The scope and scale of them are simultaneously thrilling and scary. The opportunity to make things that will impact over a billion people is extraordinary."

Myanmar seizing copies of 'The Interview' at North Korea's request
Police authorities in Myanmar are seizing pirated copies of "The Interview," per an official request by the North Korean embassy.
"We seized them because they were unapproved and pirated," according to a police officer speaking to Reuters.

Lizard Squad's DDoS attack service hacked, as pressure mounts
Unknown cybercriminals breached the Lizard Squad's LizardStresser distributed denial of service (DDoS) service, which serves customers as an attack-for-hire tool. There are more than 14,000 registered users, with $11,000 collected via bitcoin to help pay for DDoS attacks against thousands of website URLs and IP addresses.
The Lizard Squad reportedly brought down Microsoft Xbox Live and Sony PlayStation Network (PSN) to promote its service.
Lizard Squad appears to have a number of younger members contributing to its cybercriminal operation, though several reported members have been arrested across the world. However, core members of the group still haven't been identified and arrested, so future cyberattacks are expected to continue against higher-profile targets.

UCSF Medical Center using robots to help conduct hospital activities
The University of California, San Francisco Medical Center at Mission Bay officially opens on Sunday, February 1, and will make use of 25 autonomous robots. Each robot is pre-programmed with the hospital's floor plans, and can autonomously navigate the best route to get to assigned areas - taking supplies to and from labs, stock rooms, the pharmacy and kitchen.
The robot is unable to answer voice commands, but can say 70 different phrases to communicate with staff and visitors. Furthermore, it has 30 onboard infrared and sonar sensors, a laser and camera, providing better ability to avoid collisions.
"Tissue samples, blood samples need to get from point A to point B very fast," said Ken Goldberg, UC Berkeley professor of robotics, in a statement to CNET. "You can't afford to wait for someone to show up. The robot that never gets distracted, never stops for coffee, could be great for these critical deliveries."

NASA uses CPU from the original PlayStation in a probe sent to Pluto
A bit of a weird one for the world today: NASA has repurposed the the original processor that powered the first PlayStation from Sony in its probe sent to Pluto.
The MIPS R3000 CPU was the chip found in the original PlayStation, but NASA is using the CPU to control thrusters, guidance, and other systems in its probe to Pluto. The processor has been "radiation hardened" to survive the harsh elements of the sea of stars that we call space, too. The PlayStation may have used a 33MHz R3051 CPU, but the New Horizons spacecraft features a 12MHz Mongoose-V CPU.
An Imagination spokesman told Electronics Weekly: "It is found in workstations and servers designed by companies such as Evans & Sutherland, DEC, Silicon Graphics, Tandem Computers and Whitechapel Workstation. Most notably, it was the CPU chosen for the original PlayStation game console from Sony and is still being used by Toshiba in a range of microcontrollers". Seven years after it launched, the New Horizons spacecraft has "awoken" and is taking a look at Jupiter. It is a whopping 3.5 billion miles from the Sun, and should start orbiting the dwarf planet soon.

PS4 exclusive 'The Order: 1886' goes gold, new trailer released
One of the biggest launches on the PlayStation 4 this year is definitely 'The Order: 1886' from Ready at Dawn and SCE Santa Monica Studios. The game has been delayed, but it provided the developer with more time to get used to the additional power under the hood of the PS4, as well as fix up the game before it was released instead of launching it and it being broken like most games of 2014.
The studio has announced the game has gone gold, and released a new trailer to the game to tease fans before the big launch on February 20. Between the last couple of videos of The Order: 1886 and this latest trailer, we can see some improvements in the graphics and the game itself. Something that's nice to see after it was delayed, providing the studio with more time to get things right.

The Witcher 3 will require 6GB of RAM, but 8GB is recommended
We've seen the last year or so filled with games that are requiring 6GB of RAM or more, such as Assassin's Creed: Unity, Watch Dogs, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare, and more. Well, CD Projekt Red's delayed title The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt also requires 6GB of RAM.
The developer actually recommends that you have 8GB of RAM, but 6GB of RAM is required at a minimum. As for the CPU side of things, you'll need an Intel Core i5-2500K or an AMD Phenom II X4 940 to run the game at a minimum, while the developer recommends gamers to have an Intel Core i7-3770 or AMD FX-8350.
The GPU side of things isn't too bad, with the minimum requirements at an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 or AMD Radeon HD 7870 while the recommended specs want you to have a much higher-end GTX 770 or R9 290. A 64-bit version of Windows 7 or Windows 8/8.1 is required, as well as 40GB of free HDD space.

US Army Research Laboratory working on battery that doesn't corrode
The US Army Research Laboratory is developing a new type of battery for the battlefield, with scientists testing different materials. Ideally, they want to create a battery that corrodes slower - if it all - and the rechargeable batteries have less charge/discharge cycles, while increasing stability during high-voltage scenarios.
Over the next few months, the ARL team wants to begin evaluations of larger battery cells from commercial manufacturers, so they are able to analyze safety and performance. If approved, the ARL will have created new batteries that are lighter and can last longer during use in tough environments.
"We help to develop new battery materials that are lighter and last longer for the Soldier, so he doesn't have to carry so many batteries," said Cynthia Lundgren, Chief of the Electrochemistry Branch of the Power and Energy Division in the Sensors and Electron Devices Directorate. "If we could raise the voltage of a single cell - energy density is a direct function of the voltage - we could make the battery lighter."
