AMD turns 50 this year so the company is celebrating with the announcement of its 50th anniversary commemorative hardware with the slick new Radeon VII graphics card and Ryzen 7 2700X processor.

The new Radeon VII 50th Anniversary Edition graphics card looks awesomely mean with a totally red shroud versus the silver-themed shroud on the normal Radeon VII graphics card. The all-red look is great on the Radeon VII, and feels more Team Red than most releases in the last decade from the team that is now Radeon Technologies Group. The Radeon VII 50th Anniversary Edition is identical to the normal Radeon VII under the hood, with no GPU or HBM2 clock speed changes.

On the CPU side of the 50th anniverary hardware we have the Ryzen 7 2700X 50th Anniversary Edition processor that sports a laser engraved signature by Dr. Lisa Su, the President and CEO of AMD. The signature is engraved onto the IHS so you wouldn't want to install a cooler onto it, and would more than likely buy it as a collector's piece.

The gaming smartphone market isn't that big but there are players like ASUS and Razer that have deployed some damn impressive gaming smartphones, but now Chinese manufacturer Nubia has unveiled its new Red Magic 3 gaming smartphone.

Nubia's new Red Magic 3 gaming smartphone is a helluva beast with Qualcomm's impressively-equipped Snapdragon 855 chipset, 6/8/12GB of RAM options and 128/256GB storage options.

The display is also shaping up to match the internal specs with a 6.65-inch FHD+ AMOLED display at 90Hz refresh rate, bringing it closer to the 120Hz display on the Razer Phone 2, except it is much cheaper.

NVIDIA pushed out a new driver in its recent GeForce 430.39 drivers but there were a few issues that saw people reporting that higher than normal GPU usage by the NVDisplay.Container.exe that only starte with the 430.39 display driver.

There are a few other issues that have been squashed with the Hotfix release, with Shadow of the Tomb Raider freezing when launched on SLI systems now fixed, and a few other things. The full list includes:

We're just weeks away from the launch of what should arguably be AMD's biggest CPU launch of all time with its next-gen Ryzen 3000 series processors and now new leaks tease some performance numbers and CPU clock speeds.

AMD is in much need of an IPC boost and that's something the new Zen 2 architecture will take care of, doubled with the frequency reaching heights of 4.5GHz we should see some huge performance improvements over the current Zen-based Ryzen 2000 series CPUs. Mix this in with the exotic 7nm process node and you have a recipe for success for AMD, and with Intel supply issues continuing into Q3 2019 and no 10nm desktop CPUs in sight until possibly 2022... it could be potent.

The new Zen 2 architecture will arrive with an improved memory controller that will support DDR4 RAM at over 4000MHz, an improved execution pipeline, doubled core density, half the energy per operation, and so much more. The improvements that AMD will be delivering with the third-gen Ryzen CPUs is going to be mighty impressive.

Nintendo's annual earnings show just how important the Switch is to its continued success, and further spells the end of its 3DS handheld.

Nintendo's latest FY2019 financial earnings illustrate one key point: the Switch is far and away the company's biggest cash crop. The handheld-console hybrid made up 85% of Nintendo's $10.8 billion in sales revenue during the period, driven by 16.5 million console shipments and titanic sales in games like Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, which grew to 13.81 million. With these numbers, the Switch made nearly as much as the Xbox's entire segment did in 2018.

Worldwide Switch hardware, software, and Switch Online sales pulled in 1.02 trillion yen ($9.26 billion) in the fiscal year ended March 31, 2019, up 36.4% from last year. The 3DS, whose hardware and software sales were down more than half of last year, only made 5.2% of total sales revenue during the period.

Jordan Peele's new Twilight Zone series is doing pretty well, and CBS has ordered a second season for the show.

Every 20 years or so, The Twilight Zone returns in some form. It's come back in the 1985 reboot, the first episode of which stars none other than Bruce Willis, and again in the 2000's for an ill-fated run of mostly forgettable episodes. Now it's 2019 and Rod Serling's immortalized outre anthology is back for another run, and Jordan Peele is helping craft it.

There's only one catch: the new Twilight Zone is locked behind CBS All Access' subscription paygate. This roadblock hasn't been an issue, though, and CBS says the show is actually doing well--so well that the show has been renewed for a new season. CBS says TZ 2019's debut episode was the most-watched in the subscription's history (the first episode was also available for free everywhere, even YouTube).

The rift between Microsoft and original Minecraft creator Markus Persson widens as the series' decennial anniversary looms.

In May, Minecraft turns 10 years old. But the voxel sensation's original creator won't be allowed to attend a special anniversary event thrown by Mojang. The company has barred billionaire developer Markus Persson from attending due to his problematic comments on Twitter. Essentially Persson has become a threat to Microsoft's family-oriented vision for Minecraft."His comments and opinions do not reflect those of Microsoft or Mojang and are not representative of 'Minecraft," Microsoft told Variety.

It's been five years since Microsoft bought Minecraft for $2.5 billion, turning Persson into a rare sight: the billionaire game dev. Since then the game has been considerably updated and released on multiple platforms.

Microsoft briefly joined the likes of Amazon and Apple in the trillion-dollar club.

On Wednesday, Microsoft reported strong FY Q3'19 earnings growth across key segments. Total revenues jumped by 14% YoY to $30.6 billion and profits spiked by a healthy 19% YoY to $8.8 billion, both of which were driven by strong services and cloud earnings. The most dramatic rise was Azure, which rocketed by 73% and was a strong contributor to the Intelligent Cloud segment's $9.7 billion revenues.

These figures prompted Microsoft's stock to rise to $130.12, the highest point in 29 years, and propelled its market capitalization briefly past $1 trillion. Only titans like Amazon and Apple have broken the trillion-dollar valuation. Right now Microsoft's shares have dropped slightly to $129.73 and the current market cap sits at $994.4 billion.

We spoke with a Samsung representative this morning about the rumored 2TB 970 PRO. Two online stores - one in Germany and the other in China - listed the 970 PRO in a 2TB capacity. Another site even has a datasheet with the model number but all have been taken down.

"[I] wanted to share that Samsung has not released a 2TB version of the [PRO] drive and there are currently no plans" says Samsung. That doesn't mean we will never see a 2TB 970 PRO. Samsung did release a 2TB 960 PRO, 970 EVO and announced a 2TB 970 EVO Plus that has yet to ship.

This isn't the first time a PRO model with 2-bit per cell flash was teased in some form but never made it to market. In January, 2017 the Samsung 850 PRO 4TB won a CES Best of Show award prior to the CES show floor even opening. The drive never made it to the show and never shipped in the channel.

SEGA's yearly results see profits drop considerably, but the company is far from in the red.

Japanese games-makers like SEGA and Square Enix aren't doing too well right now. In its latest FY2018 financials, SEGA reported a 70.4% drop in annual profits due to a number of missteps in the digital gaming market. The company asserts its focus on digital, which failed to gain traction due to lack of hit titles on the platform, will shift to a new strategy: full game sales based on proven IPs like Yakuza, Persona, and Sonic.

This drop saw SEGA raking in only $23.82 million in profits last fiscal year. The main driver behind this drop is increased expenditures and spending in certain areas like games development and R&D, accompanied by an office re-location in Tokyo, Japan. SEGA's performance wasn't abysmal, however, and the company isn't in the red. SEGA did record a big drop in total profits, but sales were up 2.5% to $2.99 billion on the heels of successful game sales in retail and on PC.

AMD will have its new Zen 2 architecture launching on 7nm next month at Computex 2019 and even in the months after its launch, Intel will still feel the aftermath as it will struggle from CPU shortages.

Intel CEO Robert Swan explained in a recent conference call that supply issues will "continue to be a challenge in the third quarter". He said: "Our supply constraints have had a disruptive impact on our customers and ecosystem. We've committed never again to be a constraint on our customers' growth. We've increased the capacity to improve our position in the second half, although product mix will continue to be a challenge in the third quarter as our teams align available supply with customer demand".

He continued: "A day earlier, Microsoft said Intel's CPU shortages aren't a big deal anymore, after stating in January that the shortages were affecting Windows sales. However, Microsoft may not be as affected in part because Intel prioritized the production of Xeon and Core i7/i9 processors that would normally be destined for systems that Microsoft's enterprise customers would use. Additionally, some OEMs have started switching to AMD processors, which is certainly one way to end the 'CPU shortages'."

A new patch is on its way to NetherRealm Studio's Mortal Kombat 11, the patch will be gifting players with bulk currencies as well as a reducing difficulty levels in some game modes.

The coming patch has been detailed on the official sub reddit for Mortal Kombat, a thread has been published by Warner Bros. that reveals players will be getting a whole lot of currencies once the patch goes live. According to the thread, Warner Bros. is "dedicated to bringing you the best experience possible and working to get the latest updates and patches live across all platforms. We're aware of the difficulty issues in Towers of Time, and while we've made some changes, rest assured there are more on the way."

In compensation for the Towers of Time being on the grindy side of things, as well as the community response for Mortal Kombat 11, Warner Bros. has decided to gift players with a bunch of currencies. Once this patch goes live, players will receive 500,000 Koins, 500 Hearts, 1,000 Soul Fragments and 1,000 Time Krystals. It should be noted that these currency additions will allow for players to unlock some chests, more accurately the Hearts are equivalent of $10 in real life money and will allow players to open two of the premium Shao Kahn chests. Nintendo's The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is no doubt one of the best Zelda games released in the series, and now some statistics has come out of Japan regarding the sales of the title.

A new sales thread has been spotted on Reset Era and has revealed the sales statistics for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild in Japan. It is already known that Breath of the Wild has been the best-selling Zelda game in the West, and contributed heavily to the charge of Nintendo Switch sales that is ever-growing.

New sales data has come out from Media Crate and has claimed that Breath of the Wild has finally surpassed The Legend of Zelda on NES in sales. Breath of the Wild has achieved 1,719,401 units in Japan, beating The Legend of Zelda on NES which clocked in with 1,690,000 units. Mortal Kombat 11 recently released and has copped a considerable amount of flack regarding its monetization aspects. Some of the other aspects of Mortal Kombat 11 that are getting some hate is the PC FPS lock.

The concerns come from the PC version of the game that currently has an in-built FPS lock for menu's, fatal blows, fatalities and Krypto mode. Since PC players have the advantage of creating mods for games to solve issues such as these, modder Endri Lauson has gone ahead and done just that. The mod removes the 30FPS cap on the menus, intros, fatal blows, Fatalities and Krypt. In addition the mod also provides gamers who are using Ultra Wide monitors in 21:9 aspect ratio to remove the black sidebards on their screen, essentially providing support for Ultra Wide gamers.

It should be noted that this mod could be detected by anti-virus software and according to the description of the mod "it reads your key presses on the game (the HotKeys) in order to enable/disable effects. Anti-viruses _may_ not like it and _may_ classify it as a "key logger" (Windows Defender didn't complain). The program also patches the game on-the-fly, so anti-viruses may not like it as well and _may_ classify it as a "hack", a "cheat" engine or a "possible unwanted program", PUP (again, Windows Defender didn't complain). During Tribeca 2019, Death Stranding director Hideo Kojima discussed some aspects of his upcoming title, one of the questions he was asked regarded a PC version of the game.

Hideo Kojima was a guest during Tribeca 2019 film festival in New York and was asked a few questions regarding the mysterious Death Stranding. He danced around many of the questions about Death Stranding not revealing anything too considerable, just teasing fans with replies such as "I think people will cry, yeah".

One of the questions that Kojima was asked was about a possible PC version of the game, according to Michelle Jaworski, Kojima didn't really answer the question. Now that doesn't mean that there is a PC version coming, nor does it confirm that there isn't one coming, it just means that Kojima decided not to answer the question. What should be taken into account though is that Kojima could of easily disproved rumors of a PC version by saying that there isn't one planned at the moment. Perhaps the director is waiting for a better time to reveal the PC version and let the mystery brew over some time.

Some modders have managed to get The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild working on PC in first-person mode in virtual reality using a Nintendo Wii U emulator.

The emulator that is being used to play Breath of the Wild on PC is the Wii U emulator CEMU, and according to BSoD Gaming the game is running at a smooth 60FPS. The mod that is being shown in the above video is a mod that has enabled Breath of the wild to be playable in VR, but in first-person mode. During times such as climbing or fighting multiple opponents the camera can be zoomed out to third-person mode to allow for a better field of view.

If you haven't given Breath of the Wild a go and are curious about the potential of the game and don't want to go out and drop some money on a Nintendo Switch give the game a test run on your PC. The CEMU emulator allows for PC gamers to not miss out on the vastness of the Breath of the Wild world. It should be noted that due to the game being emulated onto PC that it comes with minor bug problems, menus are slightly hard to navigate, there might be some graphical glitches here and but overall is quite an enjoyable experience. It looks like ASRock will have a big Computex 2019 ahead of it in a few weeks time, with the company teasing its next-gen products on its official Facebook page.

The quick video gives us a very brief glimpse at an upcoming series motherboard in its Phantom Gaming range of boards, which will most likely be a new X570-based board that will be compatible with AMD's next-gen Ryzen 3000 series CPUs. AMD is poised to unveil a wide range of new products in Taipei next month at Computex 2019, something that will include the next-gen Zen 2 architecture and Ryzen 3000 series CPUs, the new X570 chipset to accomodate the new Zen 2 processors, and its next-gen Navi GPU.

Disney has yet another notch in its belt or should I say Infinity Stones in the Infinity Gauntlet, with Marvel Studios' new Avengers: Endgame making a record-breaking $1.2 billion over its opening weekend.

Avengers: Endgame is now the fastest movie of all time to cross the billion-dollar mark with $350 million made in the US over the weekend, and a huge $859 million in foreign box office. It has broken countless records with the largest worldwide opening, foreign opening weekend, opening day gross, single day gross, single day friday gross, single day Saturday gross, single day Sunday gross, and theater averages (wide releases) of all time.

Oh, you thought I was finished - no, there's more records that Avengers: Endgame broke. Avengers: Endgame broke other records including opening weekends, opening weekends in April, opening weekend in Spring, top 3-day grosses, rated PG-13 opening weekends, widest releases, widest opening releases, widest PG-13 rated openings, and widest PG-13 rated releases.

Amid an earnings slip, SEGA re-focuses development on existing IPs and will bring more of its key franchises and games overseas.

SEGA didn't do too well in its FY2018 earnings. The company's yearly profits plummeted over 70% to $23.82 million, and its Road to 2020 roadmap of games earnings has fallen apart due to market miscalcuations, too many games in development, lack of sales performance, and game delays. As SEGA says, the plan "fell significantly below the initial plan due to deterioration of business environment and lack of hit titles."

But SEGA has a plan: do more of what's actually working. And right now that means doubling-down on popular franchises like Persona, Yakuza, and Sonic and straying away from developing too many new IPs. Instead the games-maker will focus strongly on proven hits while also throwing in a remaster/re-release or two.
