A former employee of SpaceX and Tesla CEO, Elon Musk has spoken out about his experience working for the world's richest individual.

Carl Medlock sat down for an episode of "The Iced Coffee Hour" podcast, where he explained he was a former Tesla territory manager who currently runs his own repair shop in Seattle, Washington. Medlock described his experience while working at Tesla, mentioning the commonality of Musk sleeping on his desk at the factory, and his decision-making when addressing executives about the direction of the company.

Medlock says Musk isn't afraid to let employees go if they are "back-talking", especially if the employee's opinion counters what he believes the correct vision is for the company. Notably, the former Tesla employee said that if an employee was becoming micromanaged by Musk, it was likely that employee was on their way out of the company as Musk relies on workers' competence.

Intel's new 13th Gen Core "Raptor Lake" CPU is in the headlines once again in flagship form, where we saw the Core i9-13900K using 350W+ of power but now the Core i9-13900KF (note the F, so no integrated GPU) being pushed up to an insane 6.2GHz overclocked with a water chiller.

Extreme Player pushed the next-gen Intel Core i9-13900KF processor up to 6.2GHz using a custom water chiller setup, inside of an ASUS ROG Maximus Z690 Apex motherboard. The overclocker was able to push the P-Cores up to 6.2GHz all-core under CPU-Z and 6.8GHz all-core on Cinebench R23.

As for benchmark scores, the Cinebench R23 benchmark run on the current-gen flagship Core i9-12900K processor scores around 26,939 points in the multi-core benchmark. The overclocked Intel Core i9-13900K processor when pushed to 6.2GHz with the water chiller keeping it cool, was benching an incredible 42,790 points: nearly 16,000 more points than the 12900KF.

ASRock's new Challenger Arc A380 6GB graphics card is up for backorder on Newegg, with the company saying that the "ETA date" is the 22nd of August... just a few days from now. The listing for the card does detail that it has the new DisplayPort 2.0 connector, but the older HDMI 2.0b standard (and not HDMI 2.1, which is capable of 4K120).

Inside, the card is based on Intel's full ACM-G11 GPU on the TSMC 6nm process node with 8 Xe-Cores or 1024 ALUs, with a max GPU clock of 2450MHz. 6GB of GDDR6 is here at 15.5Gbps on a 96-bit memory bus that pumps 186GB/sec of memory bandwidth, with a 92W TBP.

NVIDIA has pushed out a big new update for GeForce NOW, which drives up the support for higher resolutions and frame rates inside of your Chrome browser on the PC.

The company is really pushing for gamers to be more addicted than ever before, where NVIDIA says game streaming through GeForce NOW is the "easiest way to spice up a boring study session". NVIDIA's new update for GeForce NOW can stream all of the best PC games across virtually all devices... including low-powered PCs with games running inside of the Chrome or Edge web browser.

NVIDIA says that its top-tier "RTX 3080" members can "level up their browser gameplay" to a huge 1440p resolution (2560 x 1440) and 120FPS. You don't need an app installed at all, since you just need to open up a Chrome or Edge browser on your PC and go to play.geforcenow.com to select the new resolution and refresh rates in the GeForce NOW "Settings" menu. No downloads, no hassles, just gaming.

Intel's new 13th Gen Core "Raptor Lake" CPUs will be announced on September 27 -- alongside AMD's new Ryzen 7000 series "Zen 4" processors -- but you'd better be preparing a PSU upgrade if you grab the Core i9-13900K flagship Raptor Lake CPU.

In a new post by ProHardver, we find out that the next-gen Intel Core i9-13900K processor can consume up to 350W pretty damn easily, as long as you have the right CPU cooler, the right 700-series motherboard, and the overclocking skills to do so. The post does make a point of the 350W overclocking mode needing "serious cooling solutions".

The new "extreme 350W performance mode" on the Intel 13th Gen Core "Raptor Lake" flagship CPU shouldn't surprise anyone at all, especially if you're up to date on the leaks and rumors. It was just over a month ago now that I was reporting on a "pre-production" Core i9-13900K processor that was "fully reviewed" and using a huge 420W of power.

The mystery that is Intel's GPU marketing plan continues, where it seems that the company is playing around with the desktop Arc A580 graphics card with the first benchmark showing up.

Intel's upcoming Arc A580 graphics card sits right in the middle of the Arc A380 and Arc A770 graphics cards, where it uses the Intel ACM-G10 GPU with 16 Xe Cores (2048 FP32 cores) versus the Arc A380 with the ACM-G11 GPU and 8 Xe Cores (1024 FP32 cores) and the flagship Arc A770 with the ACM-G10 and its 32 Xe Cores (4096 FP32 cores).

As for the benchmark run, the Intel Arc A580 desktop graphics card was run with an Intel engineering sample CPU that rocks 16 cores, meaning it could be the new 13th Gen Core "Raptor Lake" CPU, or something else entirely. I'm sure it would be a new Raptor Lake CPU + Arc A580 graphics card and ran Ashes of the Singularity (in the Vulkan API, not DirectX 12) at 1080p on the Minimum graphics preset: 9300 points and 95FPS average.

Samsung has announced that development has started on its next-generation DDR5 memory modules, with a gigantic 1TB DDR5 capacity coming in the very near future.

You and I might not need 1TB DDR5 memory modules, at least not right now, but Samsung is not making it for consumers: the next-generation DDR5 memory modules are aimed at next-gen servers and HPC (high-performance computing) systems.

In the regular world, we have the heights of 32GB per DIMM, so you can fill a system with 128GB of DDR5 RAM pretty easily (4 x 32GB = 128GB) but Samsung has been making gigantic DIMMs for a while now. We have 64GB, 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, and even mammoth 768GB DIMMs that we were reporting on this time last year... but now Samsung is entering the world of 1TB capacities on DDR5 memory.

STALKER 2 developer GSC Game World has teamed with Ukrainian supermarket chain Silpo, in opening a new STALKER-themed Silpo grocery store in Kyiv, Ukraine.

Inside the STALKER-themed Silpo grocery store you'll find artwork, props, and even foodstuffs themed from STALKER. Walking around, and shopping in the supermarket must feel like you're literally in the middle of a store inside of the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone.

Not only is there the regular grocery shopping area of the STALKER-themed Silpo grocery store, but there's a shop called "Vlasna Confectionary" that sells coffee, drinks, pizza, pastries, and sweets to eat and drink while they're shopping. There's also a "Traditional Shop" that sells products that were manufactured by Ukrainian companies.

AMD's new Ryzen 7000 series "Zen 4" processors will be announced on August 29, but the CPUs are in the hands of many across the world... and now we're getting to scope out the Ryzen 7 7700X chip.

The new AMD Ryzen 7 7700X processor is a final design of the Zen 4 chip, with 8 cores and 16 threads of CPU power with the sample pictured here with an OPN code of "100-000000593". SkyJuice from Angstronomics notes that the CPU pictured here has a "D" marking that should mean it's a pre-retail version of the Ryzen 7 7700X processor, meaning it could be a review sample sent to a reviewer.

We should expect AMD's new Zen 4-powered Ryzen 7 7700X processor with 8 cores and 16 threads of CPU power, boosting up to 5.4GHz with a 105W TDP. We should expect the Ryzen 7 7700X processor to fall somewhere in the $299 range, which is the same $299 price tag that AMD had on its Zen 3-powered Ryzen 7 5700X processor.

Apple is expected to unveil its new iPhone 14 family of smartphones in September, with news that the iPhone 14 launch event will kick off on September 7.

Bloomberg's Mark Gurman is reporting that Apple will announce the new iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro smartphones on September 7, alongside the new Apple Watch Series 8 wearable. Apple is expected to nix the smaller 5.4-inch model iPhone 14, upgrading to a larger standard 6.1-inch display on the regular iPhone 14, and a larger 6.7-inch display on the iPhone 14 Pro.

Inside, we're expecting Apple to use the same A16 chip inside of the higher-end iPhone 14 Pro, while the regular iPhone 14 will use the A15 chip that is inside of the iPhone 13. The higher-end iPhone 14 Pro will also have some big camera upgrades: a new "pill-shaped" hole for the FaceID sensors, and a hole-punch-sized space for the camera.

Bandai Namco executives say the publisher will be more selective in what games it chooses to develop and release in the future.

Most games companies saw a drop in earnings in Q1...but Bandai Namco was an exception. The company made $692 million on digital games in Q1, up over 130% year-over-year, driven by strong sales of games like Elden Ring (which is at 16.6 million copies sold now). Bandai Namco wants to keep the ball rolling and has assured investors that it will be more selective in the development projects that it invests in--an interesting comment since Bandai is jumping headlong into the nascent metaverse.

"From this term, in order to improve the quality of titles in development, we have further strengthened our judging system through a support committee of high-level producers," Bandai Namco executive management told investors in a Q1 Q&A session.

Bandai Namco sees opportunity with the metaverse and NFTs. The company has ambitions to create metaverses for each of its most popular franchises including Dragon Ball, Gundam. and possibly even Tekken. Bandai Namco's idea of a metaverse is a kind of hub that integrates gaming, merchandise, and digital content in a social sphere where gamers can connect, buy, and play.

The first metaverse will be based on Gundam. It's called Side-G and is a kind of galaxy with multiple "colonies" for different activities and content; one colony will be for esports, another for Gunpla models, and even one for games. In a new Q&A session, Bandai Namco tells investors that its metaverses, and incoming NFTs that are incorporated into the metaverses, are not meant for speculative purposes--e.g. trying to make thousands of dollars with artificial scarcity.

Elden Ring's continued success helps Bandai Namco earn $312 million in game sales, up more than 50% year-over-year.

Elden Ring is one of the best-selling games in recent memory and one of Bandai Namco's most powerful titles. In a recent Q1 presentation (Japanese), Bandai Namco confirms that Elden Ring has sold a total of 16.6 million copies worldwide across PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Since the last figure was 13.4 million as of FY21's end on March 31, 2022, the new numbers indicate Elden Ring moved about 3.2 million copies during April - June.

Bandai Namco's total digital entertainment revenues are up over 134% year-over-year to $692.418 million driven in no small part by Elden Ring's success. In fact, the game made up nearly 1/3rd of total game volume sales during the period. Bandai Namco also saw significant boosts in total digital gaming profits, which hit a new all-time high of $227.28 million.

Ukraine may soon be starved of ammunition following a reduction in the amount of ammo provided to it by its European allies.

According to American military expert and analyst Michael Kofman in a recent interview with Der Spiegel of Germany, Ukraine may be strapped for bullets and ammunition relatively soon as allied nations providing the country with ammunition are reaching their weapon supply limits. Notably, reports indicate that since Western support has a limit in terms of weapon supplies, it's not in Ukraine's best interest to bide for time as it makes making counteroffensive maneuvers much more difficult.

Furthermore, Kofman said that Ukrainian military officials are more than aware of the time limit they have on weapon supplies and that concerns are rising with Ukrainian leaders being very concerned about how long they can expect further support from the Europeans. The analyst said that most European nations that have given to Ukraine are already nearing the amount they can afford to give, and when those limits are reached, Ukraine will be forced to go on an "ammunition diet".

Military has fired upon Europe's largest nuclear power plant, with officials inside the plant now performing disaster drills.

The Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Station is the largest nuclear power plant in Europe and is located in southeastern Ukraine near the city of Enerhodar. Currently, Russia occupies the power plant, but the technicians inside are Ukrainian. Recent reports revealed the plant suffered a missile strike that local government officials claim to have been at least a "several dozen" projectiles, with some being guided missiles that came just "ten meters" from hitting barrels filled with spent nuclear fuel.

Both Russia and Ukraine have blamed each other for missile strikes, with both countries claiming "nuclear terrorism". However, Kyiv and Moscow have both agreed that the nuclear power plant needs to be visited by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) inspectors to assess its condition, which has led to UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelendskyy and Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan on Thursday for a discussion regarding the Zaporizhzhia situation.

Mission control has ordered a Russian cosmonaut to get back into the International Space Station (ISS) after spacesuit issues.

The Russian cosmonaut told to get back into the ISS is called Oleg Artemyev, and at the moment, there isn't a clear idea of what the specific issue was with the spacesuit. However, in a statement to Space.com, NASA spokesperson Bob Navias said that Artemyev was never in "any danger" and that the anomaly occurred when fellow Russian cosmonaut Denis Matveev and Artemyev were venturing outside of the ISS to work on the European Space Agency's robotic arm that's equipped with cameras.

The issue was noticed by mission control three hours into what was going to be a six-hour spacewalk, and upon noticing the malfunction with what appeared to be the suit's battery power, mission control immediately ordered Artemyev to return to the ISS airlock and plug in his suit into the station's power supply.

The paper published in the scientific journal Science Advances details warns that California's biggest threat may not be droughts or wildfires but a megaflood that may occur in the not-so-distant future.

The study examined the chances of a megaflood hitting the California state across the next forty years and found that due to climate change, the chances of "catastrophic flooding" occurring have doubled. The researchers recognize that many Californian residents are used to water being scarce rather than there being an abundance, but according to historical and paleoclimate data, the state is still at risk of large amounts of rainfall.

The study notes that a megaflood has occurred in the past, citing flooding events that happened in 1969, 1986, and 1997. More specifically, the researchers pointed to the benchmark megaflood that happened between 1861 and 1862, which happened after winter storms battered the area that produced catastrophic flooding across virtually all of California's lowlands. The flooding during this period was so bad that it even produced an inland sea that stretched 300 miles in length.

In a new segment on "The Daily Show," the 91-year-old actor William Shatner gave a narration on the life of Elon Musk.

The recently aired Daily Show segment featured Star Trek actor William Shatner giving a narration on an overview of SpaceX and Tesla CEO Elon Musk. The video, as seen above, is done in a humorous manner but still had many digs thrown at Musk, with Shatner referring to him as "part annoying dude in the group chat", and saying that one day "we'll all be his serfs, but in a funny way".

Shatner's commentary is also directed at Daily Show host Trevor Noah where Shatner can be heard saying, "unlike other South African celebrities, he didn't make his childhood into a whole thing", which is a reference to Trevor Noah's past comments on Musk and his book. The segment also shined a light on claims Musk made about Tesla's autopilot features while simultaneously showing instances where the vehicle failed to perform efficiently.

The aurora borealis may make an appearance in select locations across the United States, according to weather officials.

Activity on the surface of the Sun was recorded by space weather officials from the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), and according to the officials' warnings, there was a series of intense solar eruptions that launched what is called a coronal mass ejection (CME) at Earth. Officials recorded two CMEs heading towards Earth, accompanied by high levels of solar wind that can be traced back to a corona, or a hole, in the surface of the Sun.

The charged particles from the Sun are expected to hit Earth's magnetic field on Thursday, August 18, which may result in auroras appearing in the night sky at much lower geographical locations than they usually do. Space Weather Prediction Center, which is a branch of the National Weather Service, writes that there is a possibility for auroras to appear as far south as New York, Chicago, and Portland, Oregon, on Wednesday night.
